Over a Starlit Tide [Vanyel/Violet]

Vanyel joined her in continuing their meal, covering his mouth as he snickered and laughed a little at her cheek puffing out while she chewed, before swallowing the bite he had taken, finishing up his own meal. But, his eyes were quickly taken by that little swaying motion she did. Even if she thought nothing of it, the small gesture distracted him for a moment, snapping back to her as she talked about the dress. So, he hadn't been entirely wrong about that.

Joining her in taking a drink of wine, Vanyel's eyes widened and his head turned to look at her as he felt her fingers intertwine with his. He smiled, a light blush coming to his face as his thumb gently brushed against the back of her hand. Her head rested on his shoulder, and he gently tilted his head to rest on top of hers.

"Alright, um...singing or dancing?"

And so, the night went on. He'd ask her something from the list of questions that Lilith had given him, and every answer was immediately devoted to memory. There was never a single detail that he wanted to miss with her. Every little thing that he learned about her was important to him, and he wanted to make sure that she knew he paid attention, no matter how small the detail.

As the two packed up and went home, Vanyel made a note when they were stopped at a light to remind himself to look into getting a car. He liked his motorcycle, that much was clear, but, with the colder months coming in all due time, he knew that he'd need to adapt, especially with Violet's dress being less than ideal for it. They could look at it in the morning.

Opening the door, then closing and locking it behind them, Vanyel felt his face flush at the kiss to his cheek, earning a bashful smile, and a kiss on the cheek in return. As Violet slipped into her room, Vanyel quietly walked over to the kitchen to clean up, sliding his suit jacket off and setting it on a nearby chair. He'd probably have to get some new eggs and milk in the morning, since they had been out for a while.

Rolling up his sleeves, he went to work, making sure to be as quiet as he could. Eventually, he finished, wiping everything down for a final time. Picking up his jacket, he slipped it over his shoulders, but kept his arms at his sides as he headed to his room. Despite the night having its quiet times, this was where he finally felt he could relax a bit. The tension and nervousness was gone, they were official, had shared their first kiss together...it seemed almost too good to be true, really.

As he shut the door, Vanyel slid his suit jacket off, tossing it on the end of the bed, and started to loosen his tie and unbutton his shirt after untucking it. Then, he heard a knock at his door. Sliding his tie off his neck and tossing it on the bed, he went to go check. Did something happen? He was concerned, but, he masked it with a gentle smile as he opened the door, leaning slightly against the doorframe.

The concern was quick to fade as he looked at her, seeing her cherry face and fiddling with her nightgown. However, that smile turned more bashful at the comment. Even for someone like him, he knew what she was wanting to say. A hand reached out, taking Violet's into his as he took a step forward out of the room, pulling his door shut.

"And I'm sure it'll be warm with two."

He let go of her hand, only to slip an arm around her waist, helping her forward as he walked to her door.
