Re: Old Habits Die Hard [Violet/Amaranta]

Enter: Violet Gardner | The Rebellious Runaway
The incoming onslaught of attacks was expected, and strangely wanted. Violet’s body was jerked around, forced left and right with each punch that made contact. She didn’t fight back; it’s not like she could if she wanted to. After a number of strikes that Violet didn’t even try to count, her body finally gave way under the pain and dropped to the ground. Breathing heavily, the girl laid in silence. She heard Amaranta’s words, but said nothing in reply. She had intentionally taunted this woman, knowing that bad was going to happen. She just wanted to rest now...
"That... is more what... I expected..." Violet struggled to speak from her place on the ground. Her breathing was heavy, blood dripped from her cheek, and the pain in her sides was worst of all. If she had to guess, her rib was broken... again. Oh well. She felt this pain many times before, she'll feel it again. At this point, Violet honestly hoped the Arrancar would actually leave her alone and just walk away. What else could be said? Or done? Violet closed her eyes and waited for whatever was next.

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
"What do I do now...?"
Amaranta didn't exactly think this far ahead. As such, she voiced that question to the space in front of her. There was nothing else to gain from beating her senseless, and she hadn't exactly intended to beat the hell out of her in the first place. Did she feel bad about it? Hell no. Did she feel good? No, not really The intimidation tactic failed, and now she felt stupid. It wasn't as if she was going to give her a true thrill, so what was the point?
Composure was never her strong suit, certainly, but she rarely let an actual human annoy her enough to beat them senseless. it seemed this brat wasn't just all bark, after all. Rolling around until she was in her direct vicinity, she reached into her pocket to take back most of the money this woman took from her. An exasperated groan followed as she tore open a fissure in space. Whatever her issue was, Amaranta didn't have the energy to humor her any further. As such, she motioned for her to get up.
"Two options. Stay here or go back to the alleyway. Pick one. I got things to do and places to be."

Violet’s eyes fluttered as she was rolled around, trying to stay open when she felt so fucking tired. The fact was, she probably had a concussion after that many blows to the head. If she fell asleep, well, things would get even worse. Part of her wanted that; it would all be over. When a couple of faces flashed through her mind, Violet felt this deep-seated guilt. They were out doing something to help people, to be good, and would either never find out what happened to her… or they would and her death… Well, they’d get over it. Violet wasn’t exactly that important anyway… “Just… leave... me here…” Violet struggled to give her decision, but it had been made.

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
"Fine by me."
Whatever she chose to do from here was fine by her. The olive branch had been extended. There was nothing else left to say here. Rising from the ground, she stepped through the descorrer as she thought about where she desired to go next. Violet humored her to a degree at the outset, but the defeated look in her eyes and the current energy she exuded was killing her mood. Whatever. She was in control of her destiny now. Self-destructive or foolish? Suicidal or reckless? Even in the end, she didn't understand this woman at all. The fissure in space closed as she called out to her one last time.
"Adios, Lady. Careful who you pickpocket next time, alright~?"
Then, there was nothing but silence.
