Mission: To defend the Soul King and prevent the final destruction of the Seireitei and the Rukongai. They are not involved the petty issues of the Seireitei itself, typically, but rather fight against things that would destroy the very essence of Shinigami and the Seireitei. They are all pure-blood Shinigami, without any other racial additives or alterations, dependable and pure. Typically, those who are members are very high in power Shinigami. That is, 99% of them are.

Serving the Soul King and Soul Society being the primary purpose of the Zero Division, they don't interfere in Gotei 13's affairs and defense of Seireitei, as seen with major threats like Aizen and his Arrancar. They are known to do whatever is required by order of the Soul King. Which can include orders towards checking over the Seireitei itself.

The Zero Division's authority supersedes the authority of all within Soul Society. Each member of the Zero Division have had the power of the Ōken imparted onto their bones by the Soul King. They also each have a city of their own at the Soul King Palace, where the organization of the Zero Division is based within.

The Oken is a key that is put in the very bones of those who enter the Zero Division; it is a key given to them which allows them to access the Soul King's palace.


Defender Primary
The Primary defender is the one who is the "Leader" of Zero Division. While this name is not the best description for his role, as all in Zero Division are essentially at the same level, the Primary Defender is the one who coordinates the efforts of Zero Division in times of emergency, as most of the time they are able to work perfectly fine individually. However, when it comes time for a major problem which arrives, the Primary Defender coordinates how the Seireitei reacts.

Body 1: Advisor of Protection
The Adviser is the equivalent to a Leader, but cannot supersede the Leader. The Adviser watches over all the members of the Body and the Backbone, just like the leader; however, their role focuses more on the actual watching of them then the commanding. Yes they can deliver commands, but it is not often that they do so, and their primary use is to advise the Leader on what to do. The second part of this position's title is based on who is currently in this position and their powers. The Advisor can also perform the duties of any other missing member, such as being the acting diplomat, etc.

Aggrieved of the Blade
The Master of the Blade is the most skilled sword user in the Zero Division. As their aspect implies, they are in charge of the strongest attacks, and typically are the ones who lead any offensive movements that Zero Division as a whole makes. It is more then this, however. The Master of the Blade is a person with high technical skill, meaning that they are the ones who help guard the Academy; as without students, the Seireitei is hopeless.

Wisdom of the Spell
The Master of the Spell is the most prestigious Kidō user within the Zero Division. This person is often considered the most wise, and coordinates the efforts of Zero Division in the field, even able to substitute for Defender Primary if needed. The Master of the Spell performs more then this, however. The Master of the Spell defends the knowledge of Soul King, making sure that those who do not need to know about him do not know. More then this, the Master of the Spell also watches over the Gotei 13, looking for suitable candidates to join the Zero Division. They are the ONLY one who does so, and without his/her approvement and recommendation no applications are honored by influence or otherwise, as he is the most responsible member of the Zero Division.

Stalwart of the Fist
The Master of the Fist is the most skilled user of Hakuda in the Zero Division. Typically, they are the most defensive out of all the Zero Divison members, and typically has the most combat experience. The Master of the Fist makes sure that Zero Division itself does not lose conflicts; whatever it requires for victory, this person seeks out. In addition, Master of the Fist defends the other members of Zero Division, preventing them from being killed and typically attempting to prevent them from hollofying or becoming infected with a Ziamichi. The Master of the Fist has one last task; to watch over the Seiereitei for any major threats, protecting the inhabitants of Seireitei from colossal threats.

Sight of the Flash
The Master of the Flash is the most skilled user of Hoho in all of the Zero Division .This person uses their skills to watch over the many districts of the Rukongai, watching over it to prevent major threats from getting inside within it. The Master of the Flash is also in charge of watching over the Screaming Valley and any movements that enter the Seireitei's realm.

Master of the Realms
The Master of the Realms is the only position where a non-pure blood shinigami or other race may hold. This position is one which watches out for any absolutely major threats in the Living World, Hueco Mundo, Sugiuran Lands, and Demon World. The person who maintains this position must be able to go to all of these places unhindered, and must be an effective diplomat.

Backbone
The above listing of positions is absolute; these positions must be filled. One person each can take these positions, no more. Or rather, there must be one of these positions; it is possible to have additional in the copies of the Backbone in the Body ,but the Backbone will always be considered first. In addition, the Leader position can only have one of itself within the Backbone, as he is the coordinator of the Body and the Backbone.

Body
There are eight total positions in the Zero Division at any one time minus the Master of the Realms , so that order can be maintained between all the extremely powerful members. The members of the Body can have any combination of the four aspects and the three available positions, as well as an additional position; Adviser. Responsibility of Gotei

In addition, the 8 different members are also in charge of maintaining the Gotei. The separations of districts can have up to two Zero Division members observing it at any one time, and members of the Backbone either have to observe their portion of the districts, OR have a substitute from the Body. This means that all the districts are being observed as long as the Backbone is at least filled. Finally, a Zero Division member cannot preside over two districts simultaneously. A member of the Flash persuasion is permitted to temporarily substitute for another member's duties, but they are not permitted to leave the Gotei while their substitution is in effect, and the time cannot be permanent.

Conditions Surrounding Recruitment: While she is not nearly as perfect as her husband within his refined skills, she does however have the power to control the Valley of Screams, one of the requirements, and zones to watch over. Senna loves her home, and at the same time, her child, so she would do whatever she can to watch over all and protect the zones that surround their home land. Also, being her husband is one of the fastest in existence, she's learned to keep her eyes on him, and stay with his movements, giving her GREAT foresight.
