Kanako contemplated further as Amaranta ate the food calmly, seemingly without much care to the environments around her. Of course, Kanako did much the same as she devoured slabs of meat with the ravenous air of a hungry animal. Eventually, Kanako did tilt her head as Amaranta spoke again. Was she fascinated by people who treated her like shit? No. It was regular that she had wanted to punch Amaranta for being a jackass. What was it then?
"No, I do not. I admire your strength, and I also admire your unswerving nature. I want to get to know you better."
Kanako didn't seem nervous or anxious when she spoke such words. She did like Amaranta, despite her snippy nature. They had come to a recent understanding, and when Amaranta had shown a more tender side when she complimented Kanako's cooking... Kanako liked it. She wanted to see more of that Amaranta. Kanako thought for a few moments before she put down her food and tilted her head, her yellow eyes boring into Amaranta with obvious intensity.
"I want to know you better so I can see the you unfettered by facades. The woman who rails against the world is strong and attractive, but my desires lie in getting to know you better, Amaranta. For better or worse."

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
"The me unfettered by facades, huh? Tch..."
The sun-kissed woman consumed a few more mouthfuls of bourbon before she resumed eating her portion, conducting her feast at a similar pace to her roommate. Of course, she held herself back enough to enjoy the flavor of each piece of meat as she reflected on those annoying words.
Where did that come from? When had she earned the right? There was nothing to explore. There was nothing to know better. To be viewed as anything other than what she displayed was infuriating. After all, without strength, without ferocity, without the brutality that led her to where she was now--who was she?
To remove even one layer felt alien to her. To answer that question even more so. Rising from the chair, she requested that whatever was saved be packaged immediately. When that order was granted, she grabbed her bag and stepped outside without batting an eye.
"Annoying dinosaur..."

Perhaps Kanako had overstepped somewhat, but for Kanako it was a genuine question. There had to be something below that exterior of fire and thorns. However, Kanako seemed to have touched a nerve because, after Amaranta fell silent and consumed her food without a word, she got a to-go box and left the restaurant in a huff. Much like how Amaranta didn't bat an eye, nor did Kanako. She simply watched the woman walk past before informing the waiter that she would cover the whole bill.
Afterwards, Kanako took her sweet time consuming her portion of the meal. There was no need to rush after all, and Kanako couldn't care enough to chase after Amaranta. They were, after all, roommates and co-workers. To chase after the woman would display weakness as well, and Kanako could never do such a thing. Additionally, she wasn't going to leave until she was done. To that effect, Kanako slowed down her ravenous chow down, enjoying the various cuts of meat; and a few bones. The Arrancar woman even ordered dessert, a chocolate lava cake. The meat was delicious, but the dessert was amazing. It left Kanako salivating and wanting for more... She would have to learn how to make this.
With about 2 hours of eating, and an obscene amount of food tucked away, Kanako finally got the rather expensive bill and tipped generously; thanking the waiter for all he had done. She even shot the blushing bartender a wink for fun... It wasn't so bad being appreciated this way, but Kanako wasn't going to moon after it. Meal eaten, alcohol consumed, and bill paid, Kanako stepped out into the night's frigid air. With a few curious sniffs, and some searching the reishi and reiatsu around, Kanako found a trace of Amaranta's presence. With a casual movement, Kanako hopped onto a nearby building, her tail re-growing in the process. Ah... It was so much easier to balance with her tail back.
Within a half an hour, Kanako had located Amaranta in a rather abandoned looking area. Pissed off as she was, Kanako wasn't surprised to find the woman blowing off her steam the only way she knew how to. Kanako simply stared at the woman as she was doing what helped her blow off steam. After a few moments, Kanako oriented her tail so she could sit upon it and simply waited, crossing her legs as she watched Amaranta throw her fiery fit. Kanako did have to wonder, sometimes, why Khaana thought Amaranta could get along with anyone remotely... Perhaps there was a way, but Kanako couldn't see it. Not yet.

AMARANTA VALERIA | BURNING LIONESS
There was no need to blow off steam. In reality, Amaranta gained some distance out of her own accord to let her mind unwind, albeit momentarily. An initial kicking of the can or two had been the extent of her frustration, but once that passed over, she could be detected easily, digging into her food from earlier. She could sense Kanako in the distance, but calling her over would be awkward since she abandoned her after she uttered a few harmless words. Whatever. If she wanted to approach, she was certainly free to find a seat beside her on the bench as she idly tossed rib bones in the trash can.

Kanako had a feeling Amaranta could sense her. The oversized Arrancar approached without concern or even hesitation. Kanako moved over to Amaranta, sitting herself down onto the bench carefully, adjusting her tail so it wouldn't pose an issue to her sitting. Afterwards, Kanako watched as Amaranta idly tossed rib bones into the trash can. Clang... Clang... Clang... That sound repeated itself over and over as Amaranta sat there, a woman who appeared to be recovering from a recently thrown tantrum. However, Kanako didn't care about that. Not any more. She understood she had touched a nerve, and she would simply just need to be more careful about such things with Amaranta. Perhaps... Perhaps Kanako had been regaining more humanity than she thought while with Khaana.
Finally, after an agonizingly long period of silence, the overlarge Arrancar finally spoke. "How was the rest of your dinner? Not cold, I hope?" Kanako asked the question simply, without pomp or anything else that most people might use in these circumstances. "... Wanna talk about what happened in there?"
