My Hero! (Nanaly/Sora)

That made more sense. Nanaly being so petite wasn’t going to eat much, though with working out so much recently her appetite would grow. Hearing Sora order gave her a better idea of what they had. “I’ll do two slices of meatlovers, a peanut butter cookie, and a water!”

She pulled out her pink wallet. “I’ll pay for it!” She would hand the person taking their order the money owed. Before sitting down at the small table, setting up their number. Nanaly would look at Sora. “So… what is your job?”

Sora had already brought out his wallet, so when Nanaly pulled hers out, she had to practically shove him out of the way to get her money to the cashier before he could. She looked down at the back of her head as she talked to the cashier, a frustrated expression holding true until he forced himself to calm down.

At the table, Sora set the bag in one of the extra chairs near the wall. “I’m training to become part of the police force in the City of Light. What about you?”

As the two sat down, she glanced at Sora. “I told you I’d pay…” She grumbled but regardless was excited to learn more about Sora. A police officer? That made… a lot of sense. “How’s that going? Training kickin your butt?”

“I’m part of the Administration in the Vandenrich. So I do a lot of paperwork and deliveries.” She chuckled just a bit. “I… can’t really DO physical labor, So I can’t fight or much of anything else” It was a bit sad, Nanaly would love to be in the front, but when it came to combat, she could only deal with low-level Hollow

Sora did not enjoy the idea of a strange woman paying for his lunch. He did not need that type of favor. Either way, she paid. Oh well. Getting over it as of now. Instead, they were going to talk about work. “Eh, no. It’s going fine. Been studying all that for a while, so the exams don’t get me and I’m fit, so that part is fine too.”

"Why not?" Sora asked about the labor, glancing to the kitchen to see if their food was coming. It wasn't, so he turned his attention back to this girl.

“Right! Well, I know if I need help who to call” Her smile is still ever present. “What’s the hardest part of all that? Cop work seems really hard. I mean how do you remember EVERY law?” Genuinely interested Nanaly would lean forward and look at Sora.

“Oh well. I’m sickly, I was born with a heart condition. It’s too small so it doesn’t pump blood well. So if I tire easily, it’s…” For just a moment, her smile dissipated. “Pretty serious.” The waitress would soon bring out their drinks, thanking her and sipping her water she continued. “But I’m getting the best medical treatment I can from the Vandenrich”

Even if strange, Nanaly proved refreshing. He was either alone or dealing with a paranoid goblin with suicidal tendencies, so seeing a woman smile his direction was… nice. Sora nodded along with her questions. “It can be… you need a mind for it,” he replied, leaning back in his chair as she leaned forward. He watched her closely, focused eyes trying to gauge exactly what this woman’s intentions were.

“Heart transplants have been around for over a century; you doing that?” Sora asked, his interest and sympathy raising as she explained her issues.

Nanaly was impressed that Sora could learn all of those laws! I mean there were so many! She would be worried about messing up! What if she arrested someone for something that wasn’t illegal?! She took note of him leaning forward, was she really that interesting? She would find herself laughing just a bit.

“I don’t think so. My current medication makes organ rejection a real worry” She didn’t love talking about it, but Sora was kind enough. “My body is so doped up I worry it wouldn't work out.” With an exhale, she looked down at her phone, before handing it off to Sora on the contact page, as if telling him to add himself.

“Maybe these new meds will make it better!” She ended with an optimistic thought, her smile returning to her.

Sora was a little surprised by what she said, though his expression remained neutral. The man glanced to her phone, took it, added himself in under “Sora Y.” and handed it back to her. There was a short moment of hesitation, where he wondered if it would be best not to give his number out, but oh well. If she ended up being some psycho, like the others did, he’ll just change it… again.

"Find a healer," Sora said when a waitress appeared and pizza was suddenly in front of them both. He stopped leaning back in his chair and dug in. After finishing a few bites, he took a drink. "You try that before? One of those magic healers?"

Well Sora Y wasn’t gonna last for long. Nanaly was gonna change it to something more personal! She liked to do that with her contacts! Had to match the cutie's aesthetic! Hopefully, he liked cat pictures. After getting her phone back, she flipped it shut and slid it back into her pocket. “If you’re ever bored, you can shoot me a text!”

A healer? Well… that was a thought. She ate her pizza as she thought about what she said, though it was thought of before. “I don’t know a magic healer that can MAKE my heart bigger. Plus wouldn’t YOU trust that? If I told you I could cast a spell to make you…” She paused sipping her water. “Lungs twice as big, would you believe that?” She lightly giggled, trying to make the conversation a bit more upbeat. “I know magic is crazy yeah. But… having my heart removed by magic sounds… weird”

Sora’s normal silence continued for longer than usual because he was trying to think about her question. Would he trust a healer to deal with his heart through magic? If it was some back alley person? Hell no. Well, maybe? Some are legit if you have the right amount of money, even moreso than actual doctors. Of course, that was against the law, and there was no way he was getting caught with some sort of organ magic trafficking charge. So, if he had to trust a doctor like that, it would be a l-… Sora realized his thought processes were taking a bit too long.

“It depends,” was all the man said out loud and then took another bite of pizza. He was clearly keeping with his "few words" personality here.
