My Hero! (Nanaly/Sora)

Nanaly let out a soft smile, she took note of all of his mannerisms. Sora? That’s exactly what a superhero would be called! As Sora shook her head she would bow and think about his question. “Well. Administration. Right now it’s a lot of inventory management you know?”

“I’m… sickly so I can’t really fight on the front lines or anything like that!” Nanaly would summon her broom again, sitting down on it, and using it to match Sora’s height. Hovering so that they were now at eye level. “So what do I owe you, my dear savior!” She spoke dramatically.

Sora paid little comment to the stuff about her work, his mind elsewhere… like on her broom. He also had to hold himself back from saying ‘Yeah, you look it’ when she commented on being sick. That would likely have gotten him slapped.

“Savior?” he questioned. He raised an eyebrow at her tone. Did she realize how condescending she sounded? He found it a little... off-putting. Either way, Sora shook his head and calmly spoke, “None of that. Get home safe.”

Nanaly would pause, this guy was hard to talk to. That much was certain, sadly for him, Nanaly was pretty hard-headed and would bang her head against his wall until it broke. “Mhm! You saved me from those awful awful thugs! That’s a very heroic thing to do!” She was still convinced he was a high-ranking cop, or a Sentai hero. Either worked.

“Nothing? But I’d feel bad! How about this? I’ll buy you lunch!” She softly smiled at him, though not expecting him to return a smile. “Least I can do Sora! Besides I uh…” She paused unsure of what the correct words would be. “Don’t have many people to talk to here-” Nanaly only had about three or four friends in the City of Light… and what would one more be! Plus she just wanted to figure out this Sora guy, he had to have something more going on right?

“Mm…” Sora did not find his actions that heroic, especially after recent events. He may have stopped them from doing anything stupid, but all he did was pull out a phone and call the cops. Being offered lunch, Sora felt guilty rejecting it. She seemed lonely, and there was something his grandfather taught him about gifts and honor and respect… whatever… Sora shrugged, “Alright. If you insist.”

Sora tied the bag he was holding and put the loops over his wrist so it would hang loosely as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. “Where would you like to eat?”

To be fair to Sora, most people would have just walked past and not paid any mind. Sure Nanaly would have been fine, but she legitimately appreciated him for helping. Plus… she needed more friends. With a pause, Nanaly’s smile grew larger as he accepted, she did a little leap excited to get lunch.

“Hmm.” That's a good question, there were a LOT of options, but she decided on something everyone liked. “How about pizza?” Who didn’t like pizza? As she said that she would tap her chin. “Would you wanna ride on my broom there? Or walk?”

Truth be told, the man probably ate pizza too much, but his stomach wasn’t going to let him turn it down. A good slice of pepperoni with extra sauce was just what it wanted right now. He gave the woman a nod, accepting her choice, and began wa-… “What?” Sora stopped and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “Ride on your broom?” Was that some sort of joke? A trick? Weird fucking innuendo? “You a witch?” Sora asked, clearly skeptical of her again. Definitely a witch.

She probably sounded crazy- Well she was a little crazy. Regardless Nanay would quickly shake her head. “Oh! Well, you know how some Quincy have bows? Well, I have a broom. I can ride on it!” She said hoping that made her sound less crazy. She would point at the broom she was sitting on.

“Witch…?” She paused and tapped her chin, "I never thought about it like that but. I guess you could call me a witch” She giggled just a bit. “Flying is very helpful!” She would let Sora decide if he wanted to fly or walk to the pizza place.

“Ah, I get it,” he nodded, realizing what she was: a Quincy. Sora’s gaze drifted upwards, away from anything, especially this eccentric woman. He considered flying, but in imagining how they could both be on the broom, Sora realized it would likely be like a motorcycle. “No,” he said, looking back to Nanaly. “I would rather walk.” Sora said and began walking. He made his way toward the nearest pizza place he was aware of, hands in his pockets, and a bag hanging from his wrist.

They arrived at the pizza place and went inside. It wasn’t a large place, but it was clean and smelled like heaven to Sora. There were two people ahead of them in line, so Sora pulled out his cell phone to check the messages. Besides a couple for his training at work, he had none. He sighed and slid the cell back in his pocket.

The Quincy would tap her broom rhythmically as she let Sora think about her offer, however she was surprised to hear a no. Usually, people jumped at the chance to fly! She would nod and leap off the broom as it disappeared back into Reishi. The short woman would walk beside Sora, as she looked at him. Hopefully, Nanaly could pull back this guy’s shell and figure out what he was all about.

She followed the man since he seemed to already know the route to the pizza place. She walked inside and looked around. “What do you wanna get? Wanna share a large? Or get smaller ones?” She asks. “You decide!” She thought about reading the menu, she liked all types of pizza, and she wanted ot figure out what Sora liked.

"Individual slices,” Sora said as the line moved up one. He was very particular with how he ordered his pizza, and most people did not like his preferences, so sharing one was not a good choice. Sora’s hands stayed in his pockets until they were next in line, where he pulled out his wallet and began ordering. “An individual slice of triple pepperoni with extra sauce on the side. Three double chocolate chip cookies, and a grape soda, please,” Sora said and then glanced to Nanaly so she could order.
