Re: First Impressions [Junichiro / Erica ]

June's head nearly spun just at the thought of seated positions and the like, so much possibility lay ahead, but also so much anxiety that came with the obstacles that would need to be overcome. He atleast knew now that even if the going got tough and he wasn't fit to be a grand battle mage or combat wizard, he atleast could still do his part and help those who needed it most, the wounded and sick.
Wounded.. and.. sick..
Even as he thought of it, his skin crawled. As a concept, being a healer was noble and wonderful, but in practice.... seeing trickling blood, gaping wounds, broken bones, wailing agony... it made him woozy just running through it all, beginning to feel the room spin a bit around him. Slowly that anxiety that he had brushed away just moments ago was creeping back in and tugging at him.
June's cheeks were cast in a rosey hue at her inquiry, chuckling bashfully, "Oh no no, I'm not so lucky as to find my special someone just yet. I'm just a lonesome leaf in the wind..." He responded with a sheepish smile, even though his shoulders slumped to betray his attempt at lightheartedness. He was beginning to feel sick to his stomach again, the rollercoaster of the day cresting its next hill and preparing him to plummet into despair once again. Even now, as he prepared to fill out whatever forms and paperwork to finalize his entry into the Gotei proper, he felt a mounting ocean of uncertainty wash over him once again, his nerves working him until his hands nearly trembled, leaving him to grip onto his clothing once again to subdue the shakes.

ERICA TOLVAN
“I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. You’ll find that special someone one day.” Erica answered brightly, offering him yet another smile. She hadn’t expected to find romance herself, having dedicated so much time to her studies but love had its own will and it’d thrown herself and Ranma together. The pink haired woman couldn’t have been happier although she wished he didn’t have to visit the 2nd quite so often due to injuries. He pushed himself rather hard, harder than the healer would like.
As they headed towards the admin area, she’d flick her gaze to him again, noticing the way he was carrying himself. “Are you alright?” She enquired gently, an eyebrow rising slightly as she looked him over. “You don’t look too well all of a sudden.” He was certainly in the right place if he was feeling unwell but Erica of course hoped that he was feeling OK.

As this sweet scented Shinigami once again inquired about his current state, June clutched tightly at his shihakusho and closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath from his nose, holding that precious life in his lungs. He stood on the precipice now, teetering on the final step to a path he had been walking toward for the past few years, through the academy, through all of the training, the sweat and the tears. The heart beating in his chest once again echoed in his skull, resonating with distant drums, sending goosebumps across his skin. The blade hanging at his hip nearly rattled in its sheath as he scraped together every ounce of bravery he had available to him, pushing back the darkness and anxiety for one shining moment, now while it counted most. No more hesitation, no more excuses. It was time to do something great, apart of something greater than just himself, to push past his limits and find who he was meant to be.
Letting that clenched breath out past his lips, June finally nodded, brow furrowed with his temporary determination. Reaching forward, he took Erica's hands and shook them one last time, offering her a wide grin of genuine appreciation. "Thanks for everything Erica. I'm alright now, I think. Just nerves, you know how it goes. I think I can take the rest from here! Once I get done with all of this boring paperwork, I'll make sure to let you know before anyone how it went! I am very much looking forward to joining the 2nd with you and everyone else here." Standing proud now, brushing away the wrinkles he had crimped into his uniform from his nervous hands, he was prepared to take the leap and sign up.
