Wax On, Wax Off [Vanyel, Senna]

Vanyel had expected her to close the gap again, but, he hadn't been expecting her to do so through the method she ended up choosing. Her body flickered for a moment, before snapping forward in an brief moment. He started to reach down to grab her leg, but he wasn't fast enough, and she sent him sliding backward. Despite his footwork and mastery of most martial arts, the sudden attack knocked him off balance, forcing him to use his arm to halt his fall forward.

Good. She had heeded his advice from earlier, and he was proud that she was utilizing it, especially in a way that caught him off-guard. Knocked the wind out of him, too, even. So, getting himself back up, he gave her an approving smirk, before sliding back into his stance, as fluidly as water.

"Good, keep doin' that, but don't do it too often. Usin' your movement power like that risks making you predictable enough for someone to anticipate when you will and won't use it."

With a charging step, Vanyel quickly closed the distance between them. But, rather than using his hands to attack, he instead leapt even further with the step, intending on utilizing his knee as an offensive tool, rather than keeping himself balanced with the rest of his lower body. It was risky, and not much aligned with Bājíquán, but, sometimes, training required different angles to understand.

He had expected her to keep with the linear aggression, but, when she suddenly vanished, Vanyel followed the movement of energy and sound of the technique upward, seeing her holding onto the roof. He blinked, a bit confused by what he was seeing. On one hand, he was impressed at the surprise maneuver, but, on the other, he didn't understand the reasoning behind it.

"I mean, normally I'd give you points for creativity, but, that move doesn't really make a lot of sense. If you were escapin' a fight, sure, but, right now, you're just leavin' yourself open and unbalanced since you're danglin' in the air."

But, as he said that, he noticed the heavier, more labored breathing, and, it finally processed that move had been slower than her last usage. Maybe she really had used that as a way to escape and disengage. Maybe, if she worked on her core and overall flexibility, she could continue that into a proper escape route.

"Alright, come down from there. We'll call it for now. I'll make lunch."
