Reunion of the Wolf and Ravenette
Tue Apr 10, 2018 6:02 pm
Omo valley, Ethiopia. Africa.
24 months. It had been that long since she had her body converted from her original race of Sugiura to a human with the expansive potential to tap into mystical powers far exceeding even magus. Before then, it had been four centuries since she had been a participant to some of the most earth-shattering wars the mind could fathom. She witnessed countless races of otherworldly nature, all locked in conflict, from the shinigami to the humans to the demons and everyone in between.
Each sought to bring the other to heel, to assert dominion and secure a victory, in the name of good or in chaos. Even now, battles were still being waged in order to regain control of continents and countries that were lost at the hands of shadowfall or K-world.
A race to annihilation or a race to salvation.... where was earth moving towards? As she pondered her own question, she felt the sensation of a tongue across her cheek. It was both dry yet the sensation of even the slightest hint of saliva had caused her to be on alert. It was a companion she had met within the first few weeks she had arrived in Africa.
A small, almost frail, lion cub. Equally feisty and playful, the small beast had become attached to the young woman laying within her own personal hut, away from any villagers or tribes would notice her. The raven-haired woman, for all of her knowledge of mother earth and her marvels, had not been prepared to meet people of purely African descent, or tribes that still exist even after so much time had passed. Their had always been such questionable portrayals of Africa, both humorous and offensive, that she never really bothered to find time to come here.
She was a traveler to an extent but had only ever became familiar with Karakura. When the raven-haired woman entered one of the villages, she received varied glances. There were older men in tribal make-up who ogled her as if she was a celebrity to fantasize over, mothers who stoked her hair, and children that would not stop poking her. She was initially frightened by all of this, but all such fear disappeared once she became familiar with them and sought the assistance of a young man to teach her their language.
He was a translator of sorts, and would relay the messages to her, all with glowing results. Each of the villagers had called her raven; a nickname that grew on her, if she was being quite honest with herself. Even though she was not sure whether or not she was being recruited, that aforementioned translator was actually a low-rank member of Vastime, who had contacted 'Raven' in order for her to assassinate a man who had been causing raucous in the village.
As an accomplished assassin, she had handled the superhuman foe with no issue. When the mission was complete, she decided to buid her own personal hut, bringing along her lion cub and a plentiful amount of nourishment she had shared with the villagers before retiring to seclusion.
In a way, this all reminded her of a time when she was but a young child, in a realm of surpassing grace and breathtaking beauty. A realm she would never set foot in again. Enough. She was not going to reminisce on her homeland, especially not two years after her conversion. Rising from her small bed, she lifted up the lion cub, and nuzzled his nose.
“Someone's in a playful mood. Don't sneak up on me like that, Taj. I might kill you by reflex, and it would be a shame to bring harm to such a handsome fellow as yourself, no?”

The Golden Girl!
How, could a girl manage such, magnificence? The Twin-Sun Taijitu was glorious, the bridges shining and beautiful, and her own body powerful. Even Yu-Shan - the first level of five, but still - could not stand up to the might Mirja had in her prime. As a half memory seemed to confirm. She needed to find someone and get all these memories back where they belong, in her head. Momo was good at her work, but the Kido was experimental, and so maybe something had gone wrong in the fact that she had not received the power. Maybe Ulv had been to worried about exploding and dying, that nothing was given thought to funnelling it into herself. Well, whatever the reason, Ulv was sure that the next meeting with Momo would sort things out. One without the tiny tundra brat, ready to jump down her throat at a moment's notice. Hvit gathered the power from the bridges, and Ulv cultivated, the tattoo empowering it and then feeding it back to her, promptly this time. Apparently last time had overwhelmed it, and that was what had led to the delay. But with this kind of power, she would need many more pills fro Ci to get further. She was going to take advantage of her benefits, and push beyond Yu-shan.
But then, something else came to her. A smell, a sense, a feeling of old. From back before Mirja had her heart so scarred. A reminder, blissful and welcome, that Mirja could do good, and that Ulv's own desires of healing the world were not far fetched. As she helped this one, did she not? Well, that remained to be seen, as if this was was an unhinged nutjob, no she didn't. So, standing up, she kicked off from the ground, and arrived at the hut, giving in a light knock.
"Midori? Pretty, pretty Midori~?" Ulv asked, a smile and a slight sing-song to her voice. Hopefully, she was in a good mood. Or not in a kill you dead mood.

"Eh..?"
From the front door of her humble - albeit temporary - abode, Midori raised an eyebrow, both in suspicion and intrigue. Even if her new body was fairly new to her, her senses were enough that she could sense approaching forces from a distance A modest hint of movement would disturb her. Pressing the cub against her bosom, Midori rose from the bed completely, moving around to find a suitable set of clothes. She placed the rowdy animal in her bed, placed a hand within one of the pockets, equipped her arm with her personal gauntlet blade, and opened the makeshift door.
Was it another one of the Vastime members here to congratulate her on her meaningless kill? Or a wondering traveler? When she glanced at the woman before her, what immediately caught her attention was just how well-built she was. Damn. Each of her muscles seemed to be located in all of the right places while maintaining a fierce stature that was both beautiful and even goddess-like.
However, she would not allow her fine looks to deter her from why this woman was standing here before her. And yet - the way she addressed her was so casual as to be familiar, but as she had just woken up, only hazy forms of memory were her guide, each failing to pinpoint who she was in her entire time here. The lion cub glared at the new guest, perhaps unsatisfied that he was no longer the center of attention, but Midori would return to caring for her adopted pet in due time. So...
"I know it's going to be an unusual day when a hot woman with a strong stature at knocks at my door. From what I heard, you appear to know me... but I apologize if I am rude. I do not recognize you. You seem to know me and my name... so do you mind telling me yours? " Her request went straight to the point, without leaving anything to be misunderstood. She was precisely the type of woman who replied with such a curt, almost detached way of speaking, but it was who she was now.

The Golden Girl!
Ulv, was not expecting to be oggled. But, she didn't hate it. Midori was, after all, her first sex-partner. The had a good time together, and other things she couldn't quite pinpoint at the time. Maybe Mirja actually felt something for her, that would explain it. Every time Mirja felt emotion deeply, the memories were cloudy and obscured, as if she wanted to run away. But Ulv would not run away, she would stand, and she would...ohh, Lion cub~!
"This is Africa my dear, we are all hot here. But, hold on for a few minutes. Not as fast as I used to be, but I can still manage this" And with that the golden woman dissapeared, flitting somewhere with great speed.
She returned a few minutes later as promised, with a dead Gazelle over her shoulders, and a big grin on her face.
"So I brought some food for your lion, and some for us as well. Conversation is always best over breakfast" She told Midori, looking at the woman for a few moments, before taking a deep breath.
"You wouldn't know me. You wouldn't begin to recognise me. I have changed a great deal since we last met. If fact, the person you know is dead. Mirja got into a lot of trouble, and then died. I'm her new soul-bearer. I remember most things she has done, and I am in the process of remembering the rest. My name, is Ulv Auber" She looked at Midori, hoping the whole thing wasn't too much for the girl.
"Mirja cared about you, she wanted to make sure that you were still doing well, but this is the first time we have crossed paths without actively hunting you down. So, you know...hello" Ulv was....ratherr awkward, not really knowing how to deal with this new situation.

The Life-Taker
Much of what was going on was difficult for Midori to process. As she implied, it was not a daily occurrence to see a golden woman with a domineering stature knocking at the door of your custom-made hut. Was it really so hard to ask for a vacation without any interruptions, without golden women with questionably attractive muscles standing at her door?
Ulv managed to make the raven-haired woman smile, something that rarely happened nowadays. However, as soon as she finished speaking, she flashed from sight and came back no sooner than a few seconds, as if she had never disappeared from her spot to begin with. She returned with a dead gazelle, a meal that Taj would probably savor with every bit of fur on his body.
Midori smiled once again, accepting her offer of breakfast, though she would not be consuming any gazelle meat. Or maybe she would? It was time to wake up. When Ulv returned, she had finally introduced herself. Hearing the name Mirja... had caused her eyes to widen in shock. Mirja Eeola. An important woman in her life that had showed her a path towards remaining a loving person, no matter what.
They had been intimate with one another, but Midori never took it any further, and iether did Mirja. They were content wit hthe time they had spent and went their separate ways, even though both remained in the mind of the other for some time.
She nursed Midori back to health without asking anything of her in return. Simply hearing that name prompted Midori to set the lion cub down. He quickly pawed at Ulv's leg, seemingly drooling at the fangs. She returned to her bed, gazing at Ulv before smiling to herself.
“And here... I thought I never would've seen you again. It's been some time, hasn't it, babe? I... it's sad to hear that you died.... I wish I could've been there to help. I am grateful, however, to know that your soul still lives on through... you?” She asked, hoping that she was understanding everything correctly.
“Make yourself at home. It appears we both have a lot to talk about it. “
Oh boy.

The Golden Girl!
Ulv laughed softly as the lion cub pawed at her leg for the food. Guess mum didn't go hunting often. So, when invited, she came inside, slit the gazelle's stomach open, and pulled out the guts. While the medicine made from it's internals could barely be worth the effort compared to modern pharmaceuticals, the nearby tribe would appreciate it. So Ulv began to prepare it while talking to Midori on the side, and watching the Lion cub go at the carcass.
"I never died, Midori. You take water out of a cup, and put it in another cup. That water is not the cup, despite coming from the cup. I know what has happened, but I am not her. Best to be thought of as, a woman with an encyclopedia of everything Mirja. She was going to look for you again, but got into issues that made her feel the while thing was useless. Never wanted to look for you because she cared about you. If she came back, might even have fallen in love with you later. And, she couldn't handle that. Love wasn't something that could work in her heart of stone" Ulv shook her head softly, and looked back to Midori.
It took her a few seconds, but she did finally clean her hands of blood with a strange, soft wind, and then walk over and stroke Midori's cheek tenderly.
"If you wish, I will become the one that you want to lean on. Be your support, be your heart, be the one who loves you without question or fail. If you don't mind a stand in because the old one has since perished for stupid reasons that everyone agrees is stupid" Ulv seemed to have pretty strong ideas on why Mirja died. Even bringing in the mighty 'Everyone' to back her up.
