Unlike the increasing madness, unfolding somewhere outside the pub, the peaceful and somewhat emotional mood in this small room made for quite the delicate contrast. The Sukiyaki which had been cooked to perfection earlier by the older young man still kept its taste, and was surprisingly still hot despite not being touched for quite a few minutes now. Shirou smiled at him and brought his hand out. This simple action signals not only the start of friendship, but a bond between men. Thankfully, the room was quiet enough to allow Rin's voice to be heard. Had it been overpowered by the noises outside the pub or outside the door, not much would have been heard from the boy. Even then, it wasn't as though Shirou didn't possess superhuman senses. He is a sugiura after all; Even inchoate lower ranking Sugiuras possess superhuman traits. Judging by Rin's expression, it is clear from a glance, that this man has never had a true friend. A life without friendship can become quite the purgatory. It isn't as though, one will die without them, but no one can deny that having one person sticking by your side through thick and thin is not a wonderful feeling of security and safety. Even one friend seems like a thousand.
While he gazed at the young man, Shirou slowly analyzed his condition now. As opposed to earlier, he seemed to be in much better shape. One or two weeks of good warm meals, a nice warm bed, and a few drops of natural medicine will remedy this boy back to great health. Pushing that matter aside, Shirou picked at his meal slightly before speaking in a somber and relaxed voice. "Rin...Okumura...Eh? sounds like a great name," said the young man as another smile graced his facial features. He wasn't sure if he had told him his name earlier, so now was the time to introduce himself, just in case. "My name is Emiya Shirou....but most people either call me Emiya-Kun or Shirou....i prefer you call me Shirou, but i don't really mind," said shirou with a lighthearted chuckle. Maybe since he had felt a hunger surging through his stomach, he decided that no good would coem of leaving the meal unintended and picked up some of the food in his bowl, through the use of bamboo chopsticks. "After you start eating some food, i'm sure we can talk about something you like...if you'd like to talk to me...that is...i know i'm not the best guy to hang around, in fact, i'm too normal for my own good, i think!" Shirou chuckled heartily as he smiled with glee at his mild humor. Just how would things turn out from now on? could this budding friendship continue?

Had he blown it? Was he really stupid enough to mess something up just like that? Rin had thought he'd already turned the man's thoughts away which were probably initially to make friend's with the young lass known as Rin.
What he was thinking right now, exactly this bought another small frown on the boy's face. If he could, he'd leave right now. Stop causing trouble from this man who used his own time to help Rin. He'd probably be out to try and find some-where to stay the night.
A question which most people that had probably met him would think would be like. 'Why hasn't he got a job in all those years' or 'Why has he never applied for a job. Well, something along those lines.
Reasons being are simple. The boy was a street-kid. When straying Karakura he was covered in dirt, cuts, bruises, injuries and such. Not only that but his hair was a mess...let's just say he was pretty unappealing to others. Why would someone even think about hiring someone like that?
He may of looked older than 15 year old boy, which is true even today. Rin didn't look 15. He looked possibly a age older or something like that. But back to the point; Who would hire someone who couldn't even feed himself, cloth himself, bathe himself. That and didn't know what most words mean.
It was true during the time he roamed the streets he had seen fights against two or more drunks, he had heard bad words. But he had never had a adult to tell him the wrong. To teach him the right...
He had never had a family member do something like that, this would explain when Rin was a little boy. Back before care, back to w hen his mother's friends looked after him. He didn't know those words and since he was with them for a short time before they had to give Rin up in to care due to the fact they knew they would die soon from Old-age.
They never really got to the point where they could tell Rin the wrong and the right, he was just too young then. But what ever mother dreads seeing is his son growing up to the point where he wouldn't need their mother's help to iron their clothes, to feed them, shelter them, they'd be leaving the house and soon be out their in the big wide world.
But everything had it's downs. Because Rin didn't know half of the horrible English language of today, the slang, the dirty words and their true meanings. It meant he wasn't really, 'taught'. Which also led up to the fact of him not knowing where babies came from and what happens in that journey.
But...
There really was no way on Earth Rin Okumura would let Shirou, the FIRST person who Rin had ever heard the word, 'Friend' directed out to him out so easily. He had grown a attachment, just like that. Within a click of a finger, within a blink of a eye.
It was the most magical thing he had ever experienced. Rin didn't know about what secrets Karakura really held. He didn't know about the 'magic' so to call it from Shinigami's. Too him, Love was the closest thing you could get to magic.
What was this feeling he felt right now? It was almost like he really could burst in to tears...But it wasn't sadness this time, it was strange. He felt like...smiling.
"Rin Okumura....Sounds like a great name"
Pausing once again he had over a billion ways to handle this situation. He could hug the man, he could rush out the room crying...or he could just bitch-slap Shirou across the face.
But he did something that wasn't really expected from him, but then again, probably expected from someone who's never really had a friend before and didn't know how to handle the situation.
Turning so his full body was around towards Shirou and the two, still hot meals. His face was seen lighting up. A huge smile whilst his eyes glittered within the rays from the light bulb within the center of the room were seen...
"Y-You really think so?!"
He asked suddenly. He had never felt his happy to be alive before. This only led to Rin wanting to know one thing, but Shirou had read his mind just like that. His name...
"My name is Emiya Shirou....but most people either call me Emiya-Kun or Shirou....i prefer you call me Shirou, but i don't really mind,"
Smiling again before he nodded, a somewhat similar look to determination. But then again, it may of just been that. He was determined to make and keep this new friend of his.
"A-Alright Shirou!"
He quickly replied, saluting some what. Watching the expert use his chop-sticks just like that it soon gave him a sort of nostalgic feeling? Perhaps it was different. He remembered back in care when they had to use chop-sticks to pick up small pieces of clay. The little boy then couldn't do so yet every one else did. How Rin re-acted to said matter was another story...
Looking at the meal before at his own his stomach grumbled slightly, he really was hungry and he was starting to feel it right now. The look of that Sukiyaki not only looked define but smelled out of the world...
Although of course, this probably caught Shirou's eye as he was soon to respond;
"After you start eating some food, i'm sure we can talk about something you like...if you'd like to talk to me...that is...i know i'm not the best guy to hang around, in fact, i'm too normal for my own good, i think!"
Sitting so he was now at the edge of the bed, leaning in smiling again as he looked up at Shirou he soon giggled childishly, "It looks delicious!"
He complimented before stopping...
"T-Thank you Shirou...You're the first friend I've ever had...I've never known what it felt like to be this happy...I hope I can share my happiness with you all the time!"
