» Personality: Satoru can be fun-loving and exciting to be around, not afraid to show a smile and be the one to make others laugh or have a reason to be happy no matter what. He’s often seen as the life of the party as a result, even with people he’s never met before. In fact he’s so willing to do it that it’s rare for him to be seen without a smile. When not fighting he strives to make and spread happiness and laughter, after all laughter is the best medicine.

This, however, changes drastically the moment he begins fighting, with a calm, stoic, and reserved demeanor appearing when this happens. While fighting he is rarely seen with a smile, and rarely attempts to crack a joke or try to spread happiness, and is more often seen with only a fierce determination in his eye.


» History: Satoru Kanzaki was born into a loving family, raised by his mother, Elane, a caring homemaker, and his father, Mintaru, a revered Hero. Mintaru served as the guardian of their small community, protecting it from Hollow threats and often working alongside Shinigami and Quincy. His principles were firm—he only took life when absolutely necessary, valuing preservation over destruction.

From an early age, Satoru idolized his father. Mintaru’s stories of heroism and his ability to forge alliances across divisions inspired Satoru to dream of following in his footsteps. However, Mintaru never allowed his son to join his patrols, determined to keep him safe. Undeterred, Satoru honed his spiritual senses to track his father’s battles from afar, developing a talent for perceiving spiritual energy with exceptional clarity.

As a teenager, Satoru convinced his father to teach him the basics of hand-to-hand combat. During these training sessions, Mintaru began to see sparks of the Kanzaki Hero’s power within Satoru. These glimmers signaled that his son was ready to learn about the Kanzaki family’s rich legacy. For generations, the Kanzaki lineage had upheld a sacred duty to protect life, guided by principles outlined in the Kanzaki Decalogue. Each generation added to its wisdom, making it the cornerstone of their family’s philosophy.

Satoru became deeply engrossed in his family’s history, studying the Decalogue and mastering specialized Kanzaki techniques. Among them were Kanzaki Seiryu-ken, the Dragon Fist—a Hakuda-based martial art said to grow stronger with each generation—and Reikan no Kagami (Mirror of Spiritual Perception), which allowed users to visualize distant events through spiritual awareness but required immense focus.

By his late teens, Satoru had immersed himself in the teachings of the Decalogue and the Kanzaki legacy. He built a shrine to aid in his training, dedicating himself to mastering his senses and techniques. During this time, he also learned of an overarching threat known as the Great Darkness. The Decalogue didn’t fully detail its nature, but it was clear that no Kanzaki Hero had managed to destroy it. Each confrontation forced it into retreat, but it always returned stronger.

At 18, Mintaru deemed Satoru ready to hold the Decalogue—a rite of passage signifying his acceptance of the Kanzaki responsibility.

At 20, tragedy struck. A colossal Menos Grande, revealed to be the Great Darkness, reemerged to threaten the town. Mintaru confronted it as every Kanzaki Hero before him had done, but despite his strength, he struggled against the Hollow's overwhelming power. Satoru, forced to watch from the sidelines, felt powerless as his father was gravely injured.

In a desperate moment, as the Menos prepared a final Cero to annihilate the town, something awakened within Satoru. A radiant energy surged through him, and he stood as a beacon of light, shielding his father and the town from destruction. Drawing upon an inherited power he didn’t fully understand, Satoru confronted the Great Darkness and purified it with a single, decisive strike.

This pivotal moment marked Satoru’s rise as the Eleventh Kanzaki Hero, but it came at a devastating cost. Mintaru succumbed to his injuries, leaving Satoru to shoulder the immense responsibility of his family’s legacy. His father was buried in the town’s center, alongside every Kanzaki Hero before him. There, at the gravesite, Satoru swore an oath to uphold the Kanzaki legacy and protect others, vowing that no one would ever suffer under his watch, no matter the cost.

In the years that followed, Satoru remained true to his oath. He dedicated himself to relentless training, refining his newfound powers and sharpening his spiritual abilities to an extraordinary degree. His efforts transformed him into a beacon of hope for all who needed protection—not just in his town, but beyond.

Recently, Satoru became aware of far larger threats looming over the world. The monsters that once only plagued his community began appearing in greater numbers across the globe. Recognizing the escalating danger, Satoru resolved to expand his reach, protecting anyone in need, regardless of distance.

Physical Augmentation Techniques:
» Kanzaki Dragon Fist 神崎青竜拳 (Kanzaki Seiryu-ken): A technique passed down through the Kanzaki Line, it channels the users Reiatsu into their arms to empower their punches beyond normal limits, said to become stronger with each generation of Kanzaki Hero, and capable of leaving craters all on its own.
» » Kanzaki Dragon Fist Assault 神崎青竜攻撃 (Kanzaki Seiryu Kōgeki): A variation of the Kanzaki Seiryu-ken, wherein Satoru focuses the energy into a multi-strike barrage of punches.

Spiritual Adaptation Techniques:
» Spiritual Reverberation 霊波共鳴 (Reiha Hankyō): A technique designed to enhance Satoru's resilience against attacks, he channels his own spiritual energy to resonate with foreign energies that strike him. By deliberately creating a reverberation effect, Satoru amplifies the incoming energy, allowing his body and mind to adapt more quickly. However, this does not lower the initial damage from the attack, and particularly powerful or overwhelming energies cannot be accelerated through this technique. The adaptation process can only be sped up so much before it becomes taxing on Satoru’s physical and spiritual well-being, especially with repeated use. When activated, a visible ripple of energy surrounds Satoru’s body, accompanied by a soft hum as his spiritual energy harmonizes with the incoming force.
» » Focused Spiritual Reverberation 霊波集中響 (Reihi Shūchū Kyō): A refined variant of his original technique, Satoru channels his spiritual energy to resonate with foreign energies, but this time, he focuses the reverberation on a specific part of his body that is taking the brunt of the attack. By concentrating the reverberation, he can reduce the damage and recover faster, allowing him to act with precision even under pressure. However, the focus on a single body part might increase the speed of his adaptation even further, it limits the range of protection, leaving the rest of his body vulnerable. Like the original technique, it can’t lower the initial damage, and the faster adaptation is limited by the strength of the incoming force. The technique is physically taxing, especially when used repeatedly in the same area, and overuse can lead to strain or even permanently damage that specific part of his body. When activated, the area receiving the focus glows softly, a ripple of energy flowing through it, as the rest of his body remains unaltered.


Mediumship Techniques:
» Mirror of Spiritual Perception 霊感の鏡 (Reikan no Kagami): A technique passed down to him by his Father Mintaru, it allows Satoru to glimpse at distant events. This does, however, require great concentration and as such cannot be used in battle.
» » Spiritual Resonance 霊波共鳴 (Reiha Kyōmei): A variant of his Reikan no Kagami, requiring far less concentration. Satoru begins to harmonize with the spiritual energies around him, allowing him to sense hidden threats or amplify his allies' spiritual pressure.

» Abilities:
A Hero's Salvation – 英雄の救済 (Eiyū no Kyūsai): Upon activating ‘Beacon of Deliverance’ Satoru is enveloped in a blindingly radiant light, akin to the sudden brilliance of a light being turned on in total darkness. This glow lasts for one post, during which all allies within 30 meters gain a 50% boost to their overall stats.

A Hero's Promise – 英雄の誓い (Eiyū no Chikai): Satoru pledges their protection to a chosen ally, granting them a 200% boost to their defensive abilities. This promise cannot be transferred to another person for two posts. While under this effect, the protected ally is surrounded by a radiant white aura that signifies the hero's vow.

A Hero's Oath – 英雄の誓約 (Eiyū no Seiyaku): Satoru swears an unbreakable oath to stop a specific foe, empowering themselves with a 200% boost to their offensive stats. This oath cannot be redirected to another target until the chosen enemy is subdued or escapes.

A Hero's Light – 英雄の光 (Eiyū no Hikari): Satoru’s strongest ability by far, it can be used either defensively or offensively.

When activated defensively, Satoru is surrounded by the same brilliant aura, which persists until the ability is dismissed. While active, an immense barrier forms, blocking attacks and both knocking away and preventing enemies from entering its area of influence. During this time, Satoru cannot move, devoting their full concentration to sustaining the barrier.

When activated offensively, Satoru releases a concentrated beam of light from their fingertip, comparable in size and speed to a Byakurai. This beam does not deal immediate damage but instead begins a process of internal ‘purification’ within the target. Upon contact, the target’s body heats internally, and over two posts, the purification escalates into internal flames. The beam stops at the first object it contacts, whether an enemy or an obstruction, though its narrow width makes it difficult to block.

Regardless of the mode used, A Hero’s Light cannot be activated again for five posts after its effects conclude. For the defensive mode, the cooldown begins only after the barrier is dismissed. For the offensive mode, the cooldown starts once the internal flames within the target are extinguished.


» Equipment:

Kanzaki Decalogue - A precious and sacred artifact of the Kanzaki lineage detailing the guiding principles of a True Hero. He keeps this on him at all times and ensures its protection at all costs, any threat to the Kanzaki Decalogue is taken as a life or death threat and dealt with as such.

Cape of a Hero - An enhanced by Satoru’s Reiryoku to help prevent damage to it, it is otherwise not much more than an ordinary cape.

He is intended to act as a Hero in the truest sense of the word.
