Shell Yeah! (Doku, Amaranta)

Well, he wasn't surprised she said yes, however, he didn't know she'd be using her fingers. Doku thought he had a chance to win this little competition, he knew Amaranta was tough so a direct fight was probably the dumbest idea he would have today. Despite her impressive marksmanship on the poor crab, Doku had to keep a poker face, watching the woman eat the crab caused him to squint. "You know. I forget you're a giant cat sometimes..." He flashed a light smirk.

"but can you doooo this~?"

Tossing the baseball up into the air, used his bringerlight to enhance the throw, and put some serious height on the ball. As it soared upwards, Doku would aim with his gun and shoot, quickly using his fullbring to create a portal in front of the bullet and a second above the ball. Causing it to spike downwards into the sand, kicking up a bit of sand.

"If the bar doesn't work out, you think I got a baseball career~?"

Soon enough, he decided to give Amaranta the first go. He picked up the ball and threw it upwards yet again, once again using his bringer's light to enhance his throw.

"I'll use my portals to bring the ball back if you hit it~"

He watched the ball closely, not wanting to lose sight so he could retrieve it.

"Pah, don't quit your day job. That playful attitude of yours fits just at home for a bartender."

Amaranta snorted softly as she observed his little showing in real time. It was a pretty impressive display, all things considered, but to display that visibly would be giving him far too much credit. Currently, he was the challenger. Competition erased any measure of thought regarding his capability. She simply set her eye on the prize---there was no prize. Correction, she set her eyes on gloating over her victory. There. The ball is tossed upward, and Amaranta bolts forward, assuming the posture of a sharpshooter as she points her finger to the sky, firing off another ball to hit the ball wherever it soared.

"Ohho~ Is that your way of flirting~"

He decided to watch how she shoots, to learn for his next throw hoping to make it harder for her. Doku watched as Amaranta fired a ball, hitting its mark and knocking it backward. Doku would quickly use his fullbring to create a portal in the sky and near the ground. The ball hit the sand, causing it to slam straight into the ground.

"Not bad not bad~ Here"

He picked up the Gin bottle, handing it over to Amaranta. "Take a big swig, and throw the ball for me~"

If Amaranta wanted to read the bottle, it would be strong. Like. Some of the strongest alcohol you could get. Doku would twirl his revolver a bit, and make sure he wasn't firing a real bullet. He needed to focus on making sure his bullets didn't sound like... well real bullets, if he didn't he and Amaranta would likely spend the rest of their date behind bars.

"Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that head of yours. Who the hell said I was flirting? After all, you're too much of a chump."

Exchanging playful banter, Amaranta grabbed the bottle from his hand. Cocking her head to the side with a quizzical gaze, she simply shrugged her shoulders with a grin as she consumed half of the bottle with ease. Turning her head to the side, she stuck her tongue out as she juggled the ball with the other. No stranger to alcohol purely by association with the bartender a few paces away, Amaranta felt herself wanting to wash away this strong flavor with something else as soon as it entered her throat.

"Blegh. What the hell did you call this again? Gin? Shit's strong as hell. Anyway, think fast, chuckle nuts."

Flashing through the air, her burst of speed accompanied by sonido, the sun-kissed arrancar tossed the ball upward as she punched it high into the sky. It wasn't punched so far that it would go sailing toward the stratosphere, but it would require him exerting more effort to reach and fire the ball as it descended toward them again.

“Who’s the one who called this date again~?”

He clapped back as she took the bottle. He figured Amaranta would want something strong, which is why he bought it in the first place. He was expecting her just to take a quick sip, but he was honestly surprised she drank half of the entire bottle just like that. She was an expensive date. How was he going to tell her he only had one bottle? The fact Amaranta commented wasn’t reassuring to Doku when he had to drink it.

As he went to talk back she chucked the ball. She really wanted to win this huh? Doku would quickly turn spotting the ball as it descended, it was to far for him to hit. Soon enough his feet would glow green as he used Bringerlight to get closer, as he fired up at the ball. Kicking up sand around Amaranta.

The ball would be hit by his reishi bullet, causing it to come back down. Once again, the fullbringer used his ability to catch the ball and land it next to Amaranta. As he came back over to the Arancar he winked. “How was that~?” He reached for the bottle bracing himself to taste it.

"Shut up. Consider yourself lucky to even be sharing my company, little man."

Amaranta grinned from ear to ear as she patted at his back. She was somewhat amused by his improving at snapping back. That was good. He could use some backbone. When he kicked the ball back down beside her, she gazed down at the ball as she took it from his hand. What was this thing made of anyway? It seemed to hold up relatively well. Gazing down at him, she waved her hand dismissively. It was pretty cool, but she wasn't going to go stroking his ego quite yet.

"Not half bad, but I can do better."

“Little man? Look at you~ You got a cute nickname for me~”

He decided the best way to deal with the cat was to ignore her comments and take them as compliments. The ball was made out of some kind of metal, very durable. As Amaranta looked at the ball Doku threw back a swig, three gulps. After he was done he gasped, it hurt. Sitting the bottle back down in the sand as he took the ball. This time wanting to see how much speed he could put on it…

He dropped the ball, creating two portals right above each other, he didn’t have the sheer strength to throw the ball like Amaranta, but he had his Fullbring. The ball fell through the two portals, almost infinitely as it began picking up more and more speed. Doku would let it go for just a few seconds, soon creating a third portal to launch the ball straight up. All that built-up momentum made the ball shoot sky-high.

"Huh? What the hell are you talking about? I call anyone shorter than me little man."

Amaranta would whistle quietly as she observed his little parlor trick with the succession of portals, likely improvising for the lack of strength. Following the movement of the ball until it reached a certain point, she grinned from ear to ear. Launching off of the ground like a rocket, Amaranta soared through the air until she reached the ball and palmed it within her hand. A sudden burst of Sonido would allow her to reappear behind Doku with a grin as she pulled his ear with a catlike grin.

"What can I say? I'm simply too good. Should probably quit now while you're ahead."

He watched as she instead of shooting the ball decided to spike it down. He wanted to call her out for cheating, but thinking about it, it was never against the rules per se… He sighed a little bit as she reappeared next to him. “Wow~ You are pretty impressive” He nudged the woman. Sipping the bottle of booze yet again. Feeling it all go to his head.

“And what would do if I did that?” He asks squinting at her. “Throw the damn ball…” He was already a bit intoxicated. He was gonna try a different approach, this wasn’t about winning anymore, it was about being cool!

"Dunno. But the offer's still on the table. Nothing wrong with giving up. We can finish this bottle and continue having fun. Maybe I'll let you give me a massage or something."

Maintaining her cocksure grin, Amaranta tossed the ball from one hand to the other, sizing Doku up as she stepped forward. Where did she throw this thing now? He had proved, so far, that there wasn't any place she'd thrown where he couldn't reach. Her indomitable pride demanded rectification. This could no longer stand.

Eyes blazoned with fury as Amaranta took to the skies again, rocketing from the ground like a high-velocity missile. However, at the last moment, she did the unthinkable and launched the ball so far that not even the mortal eye could reach it. It was thrown far enough that Doku would have to focus his attention on the specific location of the ball to form a portal and make his way there. Indeed, she wanted to make the guess as difficult as feasibly possible for him and win.
