Jiyan was surprised when this thing withstood such an assault to the side of its head. He could have actually put reiryoku into that attack, he guessed, but was trying not to utilize too much of his actual energy. Anytime he fought, he was using it, which was evident by the gathering of water from the ocean slowly coming toward them, gathering in small puddles along the sand, as if high tide had recently ended. He just didn’t wan to crush anyone around him. These were normal people… innocent people that were running… screaming… hiding. This needed to end.
The monster stuck his finger out, signaling his next attempt. Jiyan assumed it would be another one of those green blasts, and infused his blade with reiryoku, utilizing his mediumship to enter his first stance, giving him a 300% boosts. If Jiyan dodged, he knew a family behind him would be killed and he wouldn’t allow that. Instead, a rush of more powerful energy washed over the beach and his blade transformed in time to meet the cero mid swing. The hardened form of his cero actually gave him an advantage. It would have been harder to fight the acid.
As his blade collided with the cero, he a wall of water formed behind him, reinforced by his reiryoku to protect the family. A moment of focus, and Jiyan shifted location, leaving a clone in the path of the silver cero. As the clone was destroyed, the cero hit the wall of water, which would easily remain until Jiyan lowered it. And where Jiyan reappeared was by this Vicente’s side swinging his long blade in a horizontal crescent toward ‘its’ midsection. It was clear that Jiyan’s aim was to bisect him… Well, if he wasn’t using the dull side of his weapon…

VICENTE
Vicente's eyes widened as he sensed the sudden spike in power, a quiet, angry hiss roiling in his throat. But, then he realized something. The creature had chosen to create a wave of water in order to protect something behind it. Sensing the displacement and movement of his energy signature, Vicente kept two swords at the ready, with the other four planted in the ground to keep him stable.
If this creature was to be predicted, in all likelihood, it meant that it was going to go for another attack to his head, or just the side in general. As the blade clashed against his Hierro-laden clothes and body, Vicente's mouth opened, the edges forming a toothless smile, his mouth looking more like an empty abyss as two arms from one side of his body each pointed two fingers at the family that this creature wanted so badly to protect.
'Let's test something...me, or them.'
Energy quickly gathered, firing a barrage of Cero Maligno toward the family, before each of them suddenly split into eight more, applying the idea of Cero Ocho-Patas to them as well. All of the denizens of the beach were now at risk of dissolving and melting, and Vicente wanted to see if this creature would disregard him for the sake of saving the pitiful lives of fragile prey.

'First day back home…’
Jiyan narrowed his eyes at the shift in this monsters attention, realizing that he had decided to attack the innocent people. Maybe Jiyan had made his intentions to protect them too obvious, therefore putting them in danger because he couldn’t stop this creature. Well, Jiyan was done with mercy. The air became heavier for those now under the effects of his spiritual pressure. He wasn’t fully releasing it, as he had only taken to his first stance, but it was enough for these normal civilians to be forced to the ground. The rush of power brought a sinister glow to Jiyan’s eyes.
The water from the beach had begun to reach them as Jiyan's power reached out and dragged it toward him. With a strong push, Jiyan rushed backwards away from the monster, rapidly moving himself between the families and the cero. In a torrent, the water rushed in front of him him, his sword-less arm rising up to reinforce the water into a powerful shield, all to stop, or at least slow the eight different cero's that threatened these innocent people. '... and I'm already fighting.'

VICENTE
That smile only widened as it confirmed his suspicions. As the creature darted away to focus on the impending Ceros, Vicente was quick to fire even more, dozens of Ceros splitting off into dozens more, creating a haze of energy that hid his presence and threatened to dissolve the beachgoers. Lifting his swords from the ground, Vicente quickly sheathed them, using the chaos and haze to slip away.
It irritated him to have to flee, but, with the creature's superior speed, as well as the sudden boost in power, he was not about to make such a risky gamble. With the little information he had been able to glean of this creature, he felt it was best to retreat. Perhaps there would be another day when he would be able to add its head to the collection, but, now was not that time.

Jiyan did not find it too hard to stretch his power to protect people, occasionally being forced to move them out of the way or stretch water over longer distances. The problem was seeing everything all at once. A couple of things ceros got through, but he was able to knock them somewhat off course to not get a direct hit. When the dust settled, the creature was gone and he had almost broken a sweat.
‘That was my fault… It seems mercy is a dangerous thing to allow.’
Jiyan took some time to make sure the proper authorities were talked to. He wasn’t the one who called them, but he did explain what occurred in enough detail that he wasn’t arrested. It helped that multiple people threw a fit when the police threatened to detain him. They fought to explain that Jiyan defended them from whatever that spider monster was, making sure that no one died and whatever got through was minor. The best part, not a single child was harmed. With that information, Jiyan was allowed to continue the search for his brother.
