Synopsis: Amelia is a kindhearted, patient elementary school teacher, with a good read for people and an interest in psychology. She is currently living a pretty normal life in Germany, but things in her town have notably gotten more dangerous. With an up-tick in disappearances and deaths, she has noticed many strange things happening, including a decent increase in hollow. Still, hoping this gets handled, she has continued to live her life with a few more cautions than she is used too. However, on her days off, she had no problem going to parties and having a drink.


» Personality: Kind with just the right amount of spunk, Amelia is the friendly type with a drop of ‘don’t give me that attitude.’ She has more than the necessary amount of patience for someone who teaches young children, along with the big heart that it requires. Even with her gentle nature, Amelia is still a grown woman with the adult desires the general woman has. Expecting her to be a saint merely because she works with kids is the mindset of the idealistic or idiotic; it teeters depending on the person. Amelia has no problem having fun at parties, dressing up, and showing off that assets she has, as long as she is not on the job.

Amelia loves her family, so she stays with them even though she has her own dreams. Amelia wants to go traveling and see the world, but being a teacher is more stable for her little brother and grandmother. She has a self-sacrificing nature toward her loved ones and her loyalty to them is unwavering. Even if she never meets her dreams, she will happily continue to make their lives comfortable.

» History: Amelia’s power first awakened when the police tried to lie to her about her Mom and Dad being okay. She was young and had always been told to trust the police, but something was wrong. The more they avoided the subject, waiting for her grandparents to arrive to pick her and her little brother up, the more this strange greenish-yellow color swirled around them. Since she had already lost her sister to cancer, and they worried about having to break the news that their parents were in a car accident. By the time her grandparent’s showed up, Amelia figured it out. “They’re dead, aren’t they?” Yes, they never made it to the hospital.

From that point on, Amelia took it upon herself to take care of her little brother, since her grandparents were older and had a farm to keep up with. He was only three, giving them a nine year gap. Amelia bathed him, fed him, got him ready for school, helped him with homework. All of it. She became the closest thing he had to a mother. When Amelia was fourteen, her grandfather was killed by a hollow that found him working alone out on the farm. Her grandfather was a simple man and never trained any of the abilities he had for fighting, so he was unable to defend himself. After that, they were forced to move into the city and sell the farm.

Amelia and her family were able to use the life insurance policy and the money they got selling the farm to find a great place to live in the city, but after a few years, things were getting harder. Amelia graduated high school and immediately jumped into college. She made sure to stay near home because he was only nine and her grandma couldn’t look after him all the time. She worked part time job, acted as a caregiver to her grandmother, a parent to her brother, and was trying hard to pass her college classes. It became too much and Amelia ended up drinking to calm the stress. Even if she was still doing well in school, she was letting her family down.

One night, after finishing a big exam, Amelia immediately pulled out a bottle, forgetting she needed to pick up her brother and then go to work. Since Lukas often went to work with her, she planned to do that again. She was late to pick him up and when she did, while on her way to work, she almost got into a car accident. They swerved off the road and into a ditch. Luckily, neither of them were hurt and no car was actually hit, but the adrenaline and seeing her brother’s panicked aura gave Amelia a wake up call. She went home, and threw away every ounce of alcohol she had. A year later, when she was twenty-three, Amelia graduated.

It wasn’t long before Amelia was a teacher at Neustädter Grundschule. At the start of her career, her grandmother was getting older and less capable and her brother started acting out. He was hitting his teenage years, so it wasn’t surprising, but when Lukas ended up out late and attacked by a hollow, Amelia had to make sure he was safe. She gave him the responsibility of taking care of their grandmother after school, and even offered to pay him when he did a good job. Since then, she has been “seeing” life settle in to a happy pattern, but something has been eating at her… especially when black auras have started showing up near he school…

» Powers:

Amelia has the power to see the color of a person’s aura. Each color indicates something about their current mindset. Amelia has seen almost all colors under the rainbow few hundred times and understands what each mean. Amelia can see auras within the maximum range of her spirit class, but usually keeps it somewhere between thirty and fifty feet, especially in crowded areas. Using the ability too much can cause Amelia headaches and nausea. Amelia has gained enough control over her power that she can turn her aura-seeing off on a whim.

The “stronger,” “more vibrant,” or “defined” a color is, the more powerful the emotion is within the person. It is the difference between a newly dyed article of clothing and that same piece being washed and rewashed over the years.

Aura Conversion: Amelia only recently started developing this ability. For this ability, treat the lists above like each section is on a spinning wheel. Amelia can shift a character's aura, and therefore their emotions, from one to another. The color she switches to must be in the same wheel and within one line of the previous emotion. The way the change effects a person’s character is up to them, as long as it follows the rules of her aura conversion and the descriptions of the list above. The strength of her aura conversion goes against the Willpower of the character. She can only do this when she is making physical contact with someone. She can only do this once per thread and she cannot convert any of the shades.
