What's New Pussycat?[Amaranta, Ryo ]

"Hahaha! Is that so? Well then, I won't waste time with idle chit-chat, then. Hopefully, your bite is as good as your bark, Ry-Ry."

Booming laughter accompanied her voice as she enjoyed her varied plate of barbecued meats. In short order, the spicy sausages were handled with resounding ferocity, chewed roughly and devoured, and washed down by one of the cups of root beer beside her plate. Since she had no questions of note and Amaranta didn't feel inclined to engage in small talk, she simply continued to work at her plate. Brisket? Vanished. The rack of ribs? Cleaned to the bone. Chicken? Zero. Anything on her plate was promptly finished, similarly washed down by brown soda full of sickeningly sweet sugar. Burping loudly, she wiped any sauce from her mouth and wiped her hands with a napkin, tossing it from afar into a nearby trashcan. Turning back to her with a grin, the bronze woman bided her time until the ever-confident human was finished consuming her meal.

"Ready whenever you are, Red. Don't keep me waiting too long."

"Great. Let's get out of here and head to whatever makes for a proper battleground."

Even if she was anticipatingly excited to see Ryo in action, there was no use rushing her as she enjoyed her meal. Eating only ever was for taste and flavor. She could eat this place out of business and still not be full. Additionally, she had no qualms with waiting until the food settled down, either, but the redhead had other plans in mind.

Moments after finishing her plate, she's already rising from her chair and making her way toward the door. Following her along, hands placed neatly within her pockets, she navigates the city, following the woman wherever she may lead, anticipating their eventual clash.

What type of abilities did she possess? What sort of combatant was she like? Clean? Underhanded? Both? Versatile. Ah, there were simply so many ideas and predictions, and that only increased the excitement further. Of course, she tempered her expectations a little. After all, she understood there was a profound difference between talking a good game and walking it. As it stood, she didn't know where Red fell, but that was fine.

"Hm, hm, hm~"

"We're getting right into, eh? Hahahaha! Let's do this, then!"

When they reached the clearing where they could freely do battle without anything to impede their focus, she was wholly prepared for the woman to lay out some form of framework, but that couldn't be any further from the case. To Amaranta, that was ideal. Who was she to keep a lady waiting? That would be poor manners. Observing the crimson-haired human with bestial sapphires, flaring with excitement, the leonine woman stepped forward to size her up. Without any knowledge of her ability, she wondered if seizing the first strike was necessary.

On one hand, perhaps she would've done so if she hadn't talked such a good game. On another, she felt, perhaps, that she would be cheating the woman out of a good battle if she approached it with pussyfoot tactics like letting her attack first. One moment passed, and her decision was made. Strike first and ask questions later. That would be the approach. If she couldn't deal with that, she simply wasn't as good as she thought she was.

A sudden burst of sonido, carrying her from the vanishing point to Ryo's proximity, erased the distance between them in a flash. In the next second, Amaranta's fist shot forward toward her midsection. It was a rudimentary blow at best, but that was fine. The true test was dodging or blocking it.

"What was all that from before? Hot air? All bark and no bite?"

An exasperated sigh escaped her lips. As expected, attacking her first was not ideal. Striking her any further wouldn't be conducive to her overall enjoyment of this battle. Or perhaps, optimistically speaking, she needed a moment to prepare herself. Hoping that the latter was true, Amaranta took a moment to pace herself before roaring in for further offense. Approaching her slowly, the bronze woman observed her condition. It wasn't a decisive blow, but her current posture confirmed that it wasn't exactly a glancing blow to someone of her stature, either. Beckoning her forward, offering an opening for a counterattack, a playful grin formed along the edges of her lips.

"Come. It's your turn now. Show me what ya got, Ry-Ry."

Playing dirty, eh? Familiar as she is with these antics, the sun-kissed lioness had to admit she was impressed with the tactic the redhead employed here. Unballing the fist to toss dirt in her face? A sound strategy. The burst of bringer light assisted her even more so, forcing Amaranta on the defensive as dirt hit her face and the woman followed in with a roundhouse kick to her head. Shifting on her feet, rubbing the back of her her head as she rubbed the dirt from her eye, it's clear she's presenting an opening, and blatantly obvious that she isn't entirely taking the bout seriously. Even so, that's opportunity for her to soar in for further offense.

"Underhanded tactics, eh? Not bad, Ry-Ry..."
