Martial Matter (Calypso, Sabriel)

Grasping the arm of a passing waiter as he walked by, the Arrancar would nod towards her bags of books and say to him. “Please store these somewhere safe for me. I will return for them later and be most displeased if I find that they have been damaged.” There was a serious look in her eyes briefly, one that made the man briefly sweat for a moment or two and without any arguing, he would take her bags and head off inside the restaurant, much to Sabriel’s pleasure.

With that, she would stand up and use Sonido in order to try and catch up with the incredibly fast human. Calypso had a gentle grace to her movements that Sabriel quite admired and the dark haired woman would be lying if she said that from time to time, her eyes would not shift down to look at the redheaded girl’s lovely form. She was not leering as such but it was clear that she was rather fond of the human woman. Keeping up as well as as could, the Arrancar would follow like a shadow, a part of her thinking that maybe if Calypso was too fast for her then perhaps she would have to pull her in with her zanpakuto, using her whip as a lasso. An amusing thought and one that made her smile

If there was one fact that was fully embedded in Sabriel’s head by the time the two stopped, it was that she definitely needed more practice when it came to Sonido. Her legs ached like crazy and she was rather weary from the exertion. Her statement about the art not being her best was true and it showed although she was just about able to keep up with her beautiful friend. She supposed that was part of the reason why she had so stubbornly kept going, as the dark haired woman was simply not one to let an attractive person get away from her. There were plenty of individuals who had become aware of that over the years.

Hearing Calypso speak to her, the Arrancar would wander over and lean against the tree, looking rather worse for wear. “Just about but I confess that this is not my usual form of exercise.” All jokes aside, Sabriel was aware that the chase was good for her and it definitely gave her a reason to continue to hone said skills. It seemed that she had become a little lax, relying on her other abilities too much.

Taking the offered water, Sabriel would take a few moments to simply relax, making the most of the time she had to rest. Her muscles felt a little tight and the Arrancar was definitely going to need to focus on strengthening them moving forward. She was, however, rather pleased that she was able to keep up with Calypso, even if it was just barely. It was a sign that she had the potential to increase her skills and Sabriel mused that it would be much easier to hunt her specific kind of prey if she put more time into her leg work, both physically and using Sonido. Not every target would fall for her various charms, after all.

She did notice the brief change in her new friend’s energy. No, change was rather underestimating it but for the moment, Sabriel merely kept an eye on it, intrigued by what was going on. Some secret technique perhaps that the redheaded woman possessed maybe. A curiosity for certain and the Arrancar would be lying if she said that she was not intrigued. “I admit that I am struggling to keep up with you but the view is certainly worth it.” A flirt of a kind but a subtle one. She then chuckled and added. “I am not going to say no though if we get the chance to ride first class on a train though.”

The look on Sabriel’s face would give the impression that she did not understand what was being said but the Arrancar was shrewd and the expression was a simple front. The centuries old woman had been to the nordic regions during her time and had a grasp of many languages. Alright, Norwegian was not one that she had heard all too often but could get the gist of a conversation. The last line regarding her rather slow method of moving almost caused her to break her facade but she just about held it in, amused nonetheless. She was not angry about the jibe, as she was well aware of the fact herself. Her pride was not so easily bruised.

Her gaze did briefly focus upon Calypso’s family member and Sabriel could not help but notice the youthful appearance of the woman. Either she was more than she appeared or her make up could do absolute wonders.

When Calypso turned to her and spoke, Sabriel would simply smile and reply. “After you then.” There were times where the red haired woman talked as though she was a teenager and yet others where she spoke with the wisdom of an elder. She was an enigma and intrigued Arrancar greatly.

Eventually she chuckled and added, her eyes twinkling with amusement, referring to Calypso’s conversation with her aunt. “I am not that slow.”

The Arrancar simply chuckled in response to Calypso’s admission, willing to admit the fact that she was simply out of the redhead’s league when it came to speed. It was nothing to be ashamed of or at least Sabriel did not think so although she wondered just what kind of power that her new friend possessed to move so quickly. It was obviously not Sonido and did not appear to be the Shinigami equivalent either so just what was it? Sabriel was curious but for the moment was willing to drop the subject and talk about something else.

Taking a seat beside Calypso, Sabriel would blink twice at the particular type of food mentioned. If her language and knowledge skills were up to scratch, the ginger haired girl was referring to fermented shark, a delicacy but one that required a strong stomach to eat properly. It was not something that she had eaten before but she was willing to try, even if she did come to regret it later. Referring to Calypso’s choice, she would simply ask with a smile. “Fond of strong flavoured foods?”
