This Steers Steering (Koga/Yuuto)
Fri Oct 20, 2023 10:09 am
OJO | KOGA
Waiting. Waiting. And more Waiting. Legs kicking, head bobbing side to side, a youthful hum from closed lips: a carefree woman's living a dreary life. What a meanie?! Who'd make a girl wait like this? It's only been five minutes since the expected time, but still. Hmph!
Though, that's her Captain, always a busy man. All the speed in the world, but he can't even make it to their outing on time. Well, guess she shouldn't be too harsh. She did force him to go shopping with her to pick out what he'd like for dinner. She also made him come over for dinner. She also didn't give him an ounce of space to voice himself. Honestly, what a hopeless man. He's as bad with conversation as her brother, but at least her big bro's has a daunting air about him.
Nothing's unfixable though. Ojo even put on a cute outfit just to help him feel comfortable. No doubt he'll see this as an outing with a subordinate, but they're supposed to be out as friends. Yep. Friends. No need for any seriousness here. Ooh! She can't wait to find out his tastes. Is he a spicy guy? Maybe something sweet. Lots of salt? Bitter? Is her fridge stocked with beverage?!
Hurry up Yuuto! The suspense is killing a baddie!

YUUTO HISAKAWA | STORMSWORD
His work never seemed to end. The moment he resolved one issue, another would come up. It was the main reason why he had ended up running late. But, nevertheless, he would eventually get through it all and briefly return to his home to get changed. In short order, he had swapped from his haori and shihakusho to a simple, violet-colored kimono, his Zanpakuto still at his side.
It didn't take him long to start moving toward their agreed meeting spot, soaring through the Seireitei without a sound and seeming to move with the wind. It wasn't long until he had seemed to appear from thin air as he came to a stop by Ojo. He quickly dusted himself off, readjusting the eri and tomoeri of his clothes.
It was just a small outing with his subordinate, nothing that he really needed to make himself look proper for, but, despite how far removed he was from any semblance of nobility, Yuuto still took pride in his appearance, still trying to carry himself with dignity and elegance -- he was a gentleman, and a Captain, after all.
"Apologies for the wait. Every time one issue was taken care of, another would come up. But, I should be done for today."

Head canted, ears twitching, the arrival of a certain someone didn't even stir her from her pouty demeanor. Why would she be surprised anyway? Knowing his knack for being here, there, and everywhere, him materializing from thin air felt the least to be concerned of. What does get her moving is the fact that the fastest man alive took even a second of their outing away with his fashionably late arrival.
"Save your apologies," She feigned, pouting for just a moment while making sure to turn her head and give a good hmph, but she's bad at playing a fool, so the next second, popping open an eye to spy his attire and smirk.
Without a word about it though, she took his wrist and proceeded to drag him into the waiting streets. "We gotta make up for lost time now. First you must tell me your favorite. I'm an expert in the kitchen I'll have you know. Good with a knife and a sword: Ojo Koga at your service! Eheh."

He had his doubts that she would actually be upset for such a small period of delay. So, despite the feigned pout, Yuuto remained unbothered as she turned away. He was, however, not expecting her to switch gears with such fervor, a look of surprise passing over his face as she suddenly grabbed his wrist and pulled him along into the waiting, mildly bustling streets.
"W-Well, I don't particularly have a favorite, really. I do like spicy foods, but I'm not super picky. It doesn't need to be too terribly complex either. Something as simple as a chicken katsu sandwich works just as well."
Perhaps it made things more difficult for him to be so easy to please in that regard. It was an unintended consequence of his choices, but, even before he had started slowing down, these matters were hardly any different.
"If you'd like an extra pair of hands to help around the kitchen, I'm more than willing to pitch in, too."

"You're too kind, Captain, but that's not how invitations work."
Ojo rolled her eyes. She had wanted him to think about something special, but he's just throwing out everyday occurrences her way. He said spicy, correct? That's Ojo's specialty. She, herself, doesn't acre for spicy food, but her brother is able to eat anything of any heat, so she's used him to practice ton. Maybe an especially spicy chicken soup with some fresh baked bread and milk will do. She's already gathering the ingredients in the back of her head as she dragged him in a particular direction.
"If you're invited out, you should at least let the host try before jumping in to lend a hand. You'd look more dashing."
With a little snicker, they disappeared into the crowd.

Had he done something to offend her by accident? Yuuto cringed slightly as Ojo rolled her eyes, briefly thinking back to what he said. He had tried to word it in a way that wouldn't come across as insulting, but, it seemed to have come across as that regardless. Perhaps it was something else that he said that she was annoyed at? Nevertheless, he would say something, at least.
"Well, I had no intention of doubting your competence, if that's how it came across. I'm certain it will come out wonderful."
Look more dashing? He wasn't really sure how purposefully sitting out would make him look particularly stylish or attractive. However, he didn't get much of a chance to respond, as Ojo was quick to start pulling him along again, to which he hardly objected. While he knew much of the Rukongai, these parts were likely more suited to someone who grew up in them.

"Duh, but save your compliments until after you've eaten," Ojo chided, stopping before an open stall.
Before the two are spices and peppers. Ojo couldn't help but take a look to check out the options, sizing up each item. She couldn't help but compare each to a guy, rating their spiciness through best left unsaid means. Thankfully, she knows how much each one would upset a person's stomach already and promptly picked out the ones she required. There was the idea of trying something new, but a man's first dish from a woman should be perfection and not an experiment. That doesn't come till the third date.
"On to the next," Ojo then said with a bounce as she held her bag in her free hand. "Now, tell me what kinda bread'cha want."
For a second, she would eye Henrex before snatching his arm and pulling him along.

He would have said more, but, for now at least, it seemed better to keep quiet. So, with little more than a chuckle, Yuuto's lips remained sealed as she pulled him along, stopping at a stall. He took a moment to look at its contents, even if he didn't plan on buying anything. Spices and peppers? Well, this was something to make note of, so that he could return when he had a moment's reprise.
Then, Ojo asked what kind of bread he'd like. Admittedly, it wasn't something he thought of too often. But, nevertheless, he did take a moment to think about it, before suddenly being pulled along by his much smaller companion. When, if they slowed, or eventually stopped, Yuuto would use the time to give her an answer.
"W-Well, brioche or shokupan would be nice, I think. Is that alright?"

Her nose scrunched as she weighed the options presented. Since Yuuto prefers spicy meals, something savory and rich to offset the sharp taste might be best. The milk Brioche has in it will help also. Though, she didn't take her Captain as the sweets type, but if he's a fan of fatty food, she'll make use of her esteemed bakery skills to satisfy his appetite.
"To the grocery store!" She announced, pulling his along for a short minute before dragging him into a small store.
She took him straight where they needed to be, picking up milk, eggs, and the sort as they went. She also grabbed some beef. A little substantial core should help make everything fit together perfectly, and she'll probably get to save some for a sandwich later too.
Ehehe.

It was hardly the first time he had been dragged around like this, but, Yuuto still just went with the wind as Ojo pulled him along to a small store nearby. Everything came and went as it would, with Ojo picking up ingredients she would need as they went along. It had a nice flow to it.
As they checked out and exited the small store, Yuuto took a look around. There was a strange nostalgia to the Rukongai, some parts of it reminding him of the Toba countryside. Shaking his head briefly, he turned to Ojo.
"Is there anywhere else we need to stop? I'd offer to take us to where we need to go, however, I feel that would...be more of a hinderance than help right now."
It certainly wouldn't do for everything just purchased to potentially be lost or damaged by hitting the obscene speeds he could reach, after all.
