Lion(ness) Breaker [Rafaela, Sola]

Bad idea, maybe fighting her wasn't the smartest idea as the weapon came down with enough might to cleave his arm off and send the shock to his system. The pain was excruciating but he fortunately had enough experience with trauma to not pass out immediately from the suddenness of it all.

Down an arm he clawed himself away from her to kick his heel into the ground as enough of a foothold to throw himself backwards with a poorly executed sonido which sent him rolling away like a tumbleweed more than gracefully escaping.

Blood loss would be an issue, so he fired another cero at his own stump to cauterise it for now. Just another thing which would take days to heal, if it could even manage that.

"Ugh, I could really use a hand right now."

He complained while looking back to see that he'd achieved a lacklustre result with his attempt to break her leg. What a terrible bout this was turning into, he'd have to try with everything he had to make this work.

In other words, this was freaking amazing.

"Ha, That's a good one!"

Rafaela laughed very genuinely at Sola's comment, unsympathetic in her entirety toward the fact that it was obviously a pretty debilitating injury. She shook out her leg a bit, noting that it was still at least somewhat sore, and then returned her attention to the opponent she was facing. Though, given the circumstances, "prey" might have been a better descriptor for him.

"That all you have in you? No, I bet it's probably not, anyone who'd close up a wound like that has to have more fire in them."

With another quick dash toward Sola, Rafaela struck out again. However, this time she hadn't even bothered to use her sword, instead simply launching herself toward him in a tremendously fast jumping kick. She only had so much weight behind her to make this really particularly dangerous, but she wasn't doing it for lethality. She thought it would be cool.

"Man, talk about all boob no brain."

He grumbled to himself at the oncoming pipsqueak, which clipped him in the side with her foot as he tried to sidestep her. Goodbye ribs and a lung but he was not one to get caught up thinking about that, he was a creature of the moment. Right now? The little babe was close enough that he'd try to poke her in the eye with a finger. If he could keep the shortstack a little shortsighted then he felt a lot better about his odds.

"Haha!"

Rafaela hadn't actually heard what Sola said about her, probably thankfully. She was simply laughing at the joy of this bout, thrilled to have the opportunity to thrash this foe who seemed to know a little more about fighting than mindless battle. Of course, that turned out to be a little bit more than she bargained for, as she barreled right into Sola's outstretched hand-

"You-! Ow, damn it!"

Reeling back, Rafaela's hand moved to cover the eye that had just been gouged, her eyelid squeezed shut even as blood poured down her face. She should have gotten angry, should have left to get it fixed, but her grin only seemed to widen as she felt the injury slowly begin to heal.

"Now!"

The moment she reeled back with her gouged eye he lunged forward with his sonido to keep the momentum, hand striking to try and grab her throat to force her into the ground by the neck with their acceleration and his weight.

She felt like a hollow but she didn't look like an arrancar. No mask fragment like the others, did she have a hollow hole somewhere on her body that was hidden somewhere? What the hell was he fighting here?

He struggled for the answers as though figuring that out might help him figure out how to beat her.

Having been put on the back foot, Rafaela wasn't fully prepared to respond to such a move. She was impressed, he was strong. As his hand wrapped around her throat, Rafaela was slammed into the ground, but her grin didn't fall as her single eye stared right into Sola's.

"Heh. You know you haven't even said your name yet. Not much of an entrance."

Of course, she was ready to break out of this hold. Ready to flex her greater strength and beat him down again. But right now? No no, right now she wanted to see what this guy was gonna do to her.

"..."

It was the kind of stupid comment that was enough to take advantage of his simple nature. He paused, looking at her with a furrowed brow as he tried to figure out if she was an idiot or just didn't listen. He might've brought it down to a battle of words but they were in the midst of a freaking fight here. There was no time to fight her on stupid things like this when he had to fight her for real.

"Sola!"

He shouted at her face, she'd remember it now he thought to himself while looking over her pale complexion. Was the stick her zanpakuto? There was no way she was hiding a hollow hole anywhere on this exposed body unless it was really well hidden. So she wasn't like Kizuna or him. What kind of human felt so hollow anyway?

The name was familiar, but Rafaela wasn't sure why. Maybe he'd come up before, maybe she'd run into it at some time, but it didn't really matter that much. He might have forced her to the ground, but there was no small difference between them. With a flex of her muscle Rafaela's fist shot upward, intent on barreling into Sola's side.

"There you go! Say it with your chest! I'm Rafaela!"

She didn't really need to get up off the ground yet. If he wanted to fight here, she was just fine in a grapple. But it would be more fun to see what he wanted to do in response, wouldn't it?

The shock to his side made him snap back to reality rather than being stuck in thought. Bad time for all this stupid questioning crap as he spluttered a bit of blood from his mouth at the force of her punch. It'd felt like she'd just ran through him like a truck.

"Y-yeah. I know that, you stupid bitch..."

He mumbled to her while grabbing at some of the dirt his hands had rested on for support. He'd taken one of them, might as well try for the other one too. Sola took the handful and made a bold attempt to shove it into her healthy eye and dig it into the socket.

It seemed like she was able to heal like he had seen thus far.

If she'd had both hands ready to block, she probably would have been able to handle such a basic trick as this, but with her limited field of vision, and one arm already committed to the body blow, she didn't have a way to stop this guy from taking her other eye.

"You! Knock that off!!"

She would have told him to be a little less rude, normally, but the fact that he was taking her other eye made her more than a little bit angry, and the agony probably would have overwhelmed her if she weren't so overwhelmed by the thrill of a violent battle at present. The fist that had slammed into him simply drew back again, once more shooting toward him in a more serious effort to get him off. She needed to see to do anything cool, after all, so she couldn't let him keep doing this.
