» Personality:
First and foremost Mizu is known as an extremely hard worker, often putting twice the time of her peers into learning and practice to master the same subjects. She does not shy away from challenges, no matter how difficult as even the simplest physical tasks as a child often were significant roadblocks for her. That said she has a great understanding of her own limitations as well, and knows she usually has to work around them just to keep up. Mizu is not one to be overconfident in her abilities or be caught off guard by underestimating those around her, and in fact often overestimates her peers due to usually being inferior anyway.
Thanks to her noble-adjacent upbringing Mizu speaks and acts respectfully and formally, even to the point of annoying some of her compatriots in the Gotei United. She does not speak out of turn, always uses the correct honorifics, and does what is asked of her without dissension or argument. Her deep understanding of her own limitations and the capabilities of others has humbled her significantly, making the esteem and affluence of her family name irrelevant in how she treats those around her. Mizu would never resort to using her family name to gain an advantage, especially if it meant depriving someone more deserving of an opportunity.
A way her family name has impacted her is how Mizu views the role of nobles in society, which is to say she believes rather strongly those in advantageous positions or who come from aristocratic backgrounds must treat helping others as a duty. To Mizu fame and money are not simply meant to be used to live lives of excess, but to share with those born without. This belief was strengthened by her saving and following relationship with Tsuna, her childhood friend, as practically all her best memories directly resulted from helping a downtrodden stranger. This is one of the most significant reasons Mizu holds the Gotei United in such high esteem as she views the organization as a shield for the vulnerable, and is why she wants to someday become a great Shinigami capable of protecting those around her.
Another way in which her family name and heritage have impacted her is how badly she wants to live up to the expectations set by her parents. Though she struggled from the very beginning and even her parents often encouraged her to take an easier path, Mizu has always wanted to be successful in the same ways her direct family and ancestors were despite the abyssal canyon between them in ability. While she doesn't seek out fame for the sake of fame, if she can at least bring honor to her clan and the Morikawa name Mizu feels obligated to do so. This is why one of her personal heroes is Kuchiki Byakuya, a legendary Shinigami and great Noble she had read about as a child who not only came from affluence like she did but surpassed any expectation set upon him and even helped save the world. His famous desire to live according to the rule of law bled into her own views of rules, the structure of society, and the purpose of the Gotei.
One thing Mizu has not dealt with in her life is a romantic relationship, thanks in parts to her conservative upbringing and focus on education. Though hardly a robot, she rarely thinks about others as objects of desire or possible partners. Being approached in a romantic way is a great way to throw Mizu off, usually leading to rosy red cheeks of embarrassment and nervous stuttering. Her sense of self is not so distorted she doesn't understand she is physically attractive, but she does often think there are much better options for other people than herself. This is perhaps the main negative consequence of her childhood as she often does not believe she is good enough for others and apologizes profusely when she is unable to accomplish a task or help someone.
In the aftermath of her older brother Kaiyō dying in the line of duty at the hands of a Hollow, Mizu's immediate response was to view all Hollow kind with a burning hatred born from loss. She has done her best to fight this anger but even though she is a kind, reasonable person Mizu often finds herself dealing with Hollows mercilessly. Mizu tends to view other races with ambivalence because she hasn't really met anyone not a Shinigami or Hollow, though if she did she would do her best to avoid having any preconceived notions about who they are simply because of their blood. Mizu understands her wanting to be a great Shinigami and viewing the Gotei United as a source of morality is at odds with this belief because of the complicated histories between Shinigami and the other races, but does her best regardless.

I. History
» History:
Mizu was born in 2094 to the affluent Morikawa family residing in Hokutan, the 3rd District of West Rukongai. From the very beginning she was afforded every comfort imaginable for a spirit of Soul Society, and was left wanting for naught. With these great luxuries came even greater expectations however, as while Morikawa was a name synonymous with wealth and nobility the clan was not of genuine noble blood. Thus every member was expected to live up to the Morikawa name and add to it's legacy over time through accumulated wealth and esteem so that one day it may also count itself among the great noble clans of Soul Society.
Many members of the Morikawa family opted to tread the path of warriors by making a name for themselves in the armed forces of Soul Society, the Gotei United, as military feats were the simplest way to gain renown. From a young age Mizu wanted to do the same, dreaming of becoming a great Shinigami from as young as three or four years old. After all, the founder of the clan she called family had been founded by a notable warrior from many years in the past. What better way to bring honor to her family's name than by following in her ancestor's footsteps?
Unfortunately for Mizu she lacked much of what made her family members such naturally gifted Shinigami, particularly their innate spiritual power and physical resilience. During her childhood Mizu's parents doubted she could even become a Shinigami and encouraged her to focus on the arts or find an interest in science, which was particularly the case after she became badly injured after falling a short height from a tree her and her friends had been climbing. In fact Mizu usually found herself covered in cuts and scrapes after doing the same things her friends would be unblemished by, like kendō practice and other physical activities. At first her parents believed Mizu to be suffering from some unknown ailment, as they were unused to the limitations of those less gifted, but physicians made clear she was perfectly healthy.
Not wanting to give up on her dream of being a great Shinigami one day, Mizu refocused her efforts on the learned and mystical arts as it was clear she would likely always lag behind her peers physically. At her request, Mizu's parents hired specialist tutors with an emphasis on Kidō. This would prove to be partially fruitless as while she was able to advance her theoretical knowledge and understanding of Shinigami magic, she continued to struggle with practical applications and aspects of it due to her weak spiritual power. One day after a particularly frustrating session of attempts at practical use of Kidō, Mizu's tutor asked why she was so adamant about learning Shinigami magic at such a young age and her response, through tears, was "If I can't do this, I can't do anything!". Even as a child Mizu was greatly aware of her own flaws and limitations, which were only made even more glaring by her pursuit to improve.
Mizu met her eventual closest friend and confidant Makino Tsuna late during a balmy evening in mid-June when she stumbled upon the latter outside her estate, seemingly hiding from an unknown hunter. Malnourished and exhausted, Tsuna could do nothing as this well-dressed and noble stranger approached her carefully as if she were an injured, cornered animal. Her wild hair and ragged clothing made it clear to Mizu this girl, who couldn't have been more than a year older than herself, was from an outer Rukongai District and had somehow found her way into Hokutan, perhaps in search for food or better clothing. After introducing herself Mizu made every attempt to make obvious her only intent was to help this strange girl, and after a few suspenseful minutes Tsuna shared her name and requested food out of desperation, resigning herself to her fate.
After reaching out her hand to Tsuna for her to grasp, Mizu led the enervated girl to a small guest house on her family's estate whereupon she immediately left and returned with a bounty of food the likes of which Tsuna had never imagined being able to eat in one sitting. Between gobbling up as much as she could, as if she'd never have another meal again, Tsuna explained her predicament to the in-awe Mizu; apparently, the former had come from a District riddled with poverty and crime and barely had a family to speak of, having essentially been living as a street urchin and petty thief to get by. Unfortunately in the course of her most recent act of larceny, she had angered the wrong man and was forced to flee from her home District. Every time she entered a new District she was set upon by those who didn't want outsiders entering their territory, and for weeks she'd been living on the run until eventually the two would meet in Hokutan. According to Tsuna the most vicious of those who wished to see her gone were those living in the safer, richer Districts like Mizu's. This shocked the young Morikawa girl who couldn't imagine why those better off wouldn't want to help someone in need of it.
After their chance meeting Mizu and Tsuna grew ever closer, which was why when her parents happened upon the latter sleeping in their guest house their daughter fought and argued desperately to convince them to let her stay with them. Though at first disgusted by the idea, eventually they acquiesced as they believed Mizu simply wanted a caretaker or live-in servant and didn't even consider the idea the two might actually be great friends who saw each other not in a hierarchical light, but as equals. Thus they would be treated entirely different from how they felt, but at the time neither cared. Both were merely happy to have each other in a world they'd previously felt alone in.
With her parents unaware, Mizu mandated her tutors allow her new sister be taught as well. While at first Tsuna was opposed as she had no interest in sitting through lectures by snooty high society teachers in her eyes, she quickly showed great acumen in practically all subjects, from theoretical to practical. Not only was Tsuna a quick learner, but her spiritual power was already at a level even their teachers found impressive. For her this was another reason to dislike society's pecking order as if she hadn't been found by Mizu she likely would've rotted in the streets, her potential never given an opportunity to bloom; for Mizu none of this was a new experience, she had dealt with geniuses her entire life so for her Tsuna was just another person to chase. One difference however was their relationship and proximity allowed them to help each other, accelerating both of their growth. For the first time ever Mizu truly felt like she was advancing and she owed it all to her best friend.
A few years go by and Mizu and Tsuna could not be more inseparable. The two really were more like sisters than friends, and were constantly together, practically attached at the hip. Their closeness made Tsuna's leaving to join the Shin'o Academy that much more difficult, but as she was both a year older than Mizu and had aced the entrance exam it was inevitable. The two took solace in knowing they would be reunited a year later, and tearfully said their goodbyes. For Tsuna this was a new beginning, for Mizu it was an opportunity to learn and grow as much as possible so the next time they meet they could call each other equals. Through the next year she did just that, doubling her efforts in both her private training and during tutoring sessions. Though she still didn't exceed expectations from those around her, the young Morikawa girl felt confidence beyond what she'd ever experienced.
About this time, just a few short weeks before she would take the Shin'o Academy entrance exam, Mizu was informed of some tragic news: her eldest brother, Kaiyō, had perished at the hands of a Hollow during the course of a Gotei mission in the living realm. To Mizu her family had always seemed invincible, natural geniuses that they were, thus this dead would prove to be a shock to her system. Though Kaiyō had not been a Shinigami of great prestige, he was still a household name in his division while still at a young age and was seen as having unlimited potential. Mizu couldn't resist breaking down during her beloved brother's funeral rites, which was seen as a bit shameful, but for her it was a natural reaction as someone who'd never experienced such loss before.
Eventually it came time for Mizu to take the Shin'o Academy entrance exam, and despite years of teaching from some of the best tutors money could buy she struggled throughout. Her confidence had taken a hit, and even though she managed to pass her first roadblock to becoming a Shinigami, Mizu's own expectations of herself had grown and thus being placed in the Average class didn't feel great. Still, it wasn't anything new for her and so she just focused on working harder than anyone else as she'd always had to. It was shortly after her admittance that she came across Tsuna who had both grown individually, but also had her own collection of friends separate from her childhood savior. This was because of her ability to stand out even among the First class of her year. For that reason these friends could be more accurately called a posse, all of whom were also natural born geniuses who excelled in Shinigami training without coming from a noble background.
When Mizu and Tsuna met they spent hours catching up, with the latter excitedly explaining everything she'd experienced in the Academy over the previous year. Already well on her way to early graduation, Tsuna seemed not only more confident than ever but also seemed to patronize Mizu when the latter spoke of her own training and admittance to the Average class. While not defensive Mizu didn't understand why this change had occurred in her friend, and their conversation grew ever more combative. For Tsuna her time in the Academy had further proven one's position and family name was irrelevant, and all that mattered was ability, something she had in bunches while Mizu, who had been given every advantage from minute one, had none of. This conversation-turned-argument came to a head when Tsuna laughed at the very notion of Mizu working hard enough to graduate early as well, to which Mizu responded "You may be a genius, but I'm a genius hard worker. I'll catch up with you, Makino-chan!" With a huff Tsuna left, indignant at the very idea.
Though saddened by her now-icy relationship with her childhood best friend, Mizu now found herself more focused and determined than ever. While others, like Tsuna, may breeze through their Shin'o Academy coursework, Mizu was putting in more work than anyone just to keep up. While Tsuna herself would simply ignore her when they happened across each other, the girl's posse would usually derogatorily and sarcastically refer to Mizu as Genius Hard Worker. Though meant to insult, for her it was more a badge of honor. She may not have had any of the physical or spiritual advantages of her peers, but her willingness to spend every waking minute training and learning was undeniable.
As she'd done as a child, Mizu focused on learning as much as she could about Kidō as while practical applications still proved to be difficult and exhausting due to her limited spiritual power, knowledge was just as important and she knew she would never stand out in the other Shinigami specialties anyway. The fact she had a particular interest in healing magic just further pushed her to pursue Kidō as a primary subject. One area she excelled in even compared to some of the most natural geniuses was her grasp and understanding of fundamentals, demonstrating repeatedly a total mastery over the most basic of spells and how they could interact together. This was balanced by her struggles with using more advanced curricula, but nothing would prevent her from continuing onward towards her goal of catching her childhood friend.
By her third year Mizu was on track to graduate on time, which for her had always been the plan; unlike Tsuna, who she was surprised to learn had graduated after only three years in the Shin'o Academy. Her shock wasn't at the fact she graded early, but that she had to learn about it from someone else. Their previous relationship might as well have not even happened...but it did. And for Mizu this was just another reason to get to her friend's level, so that they might rebuild what they once had.
Over the course of the rest of her time at the Shin'o Academy, Mizu found she also excelled during practical training missions during which her knowledge and grasp of fundamentals and different scenarios would separate her from others who, while more talented, didn't always know how to apply said talent in real world settings. With enough preparation Mizu could come up with strategies and tactics for some of the most difficult missions she went on, and as a result ended up making her own friends more like herself just as Tsuna had done before her. This close-knit group would help push her even further as Mizu used her newfound relationships as friendly rivalries as well.
Upon graduating after a full six years in the Academy, Mizu was hardly pursued by Gotei United recruiters and had to actively apply. Despite her family name her own lack of far-above-average ability meant she would still have to work every step of the way to becoming a great Shinigami, a challenge she approached with the same gumption as always. As a grunt in the Gotei Mizu made a name for herself the same way she'd always done: preparation and knowledge of fundamentals. These traits, along with her noble background humbled by her limitations, made her the perfect underling for those ranked above her. Her parents were proud to hear when she eventually became a seated officer, though still suggested she pursue more scholastic routes to success. But after all the work she had put in up to this point, nothing would or could change her mind about her dream.
Compared to her time in the academy and as a child the first few years of her tenure in the Gotei United went smoothly. She acclimated well to her new environment and the expectations her superiors had for her. As a grunt her responsibilities remained somewhat basic and missions simple. During her time as a seated officer Mizu has taken every opportunity to prove herself among her peers. At some point she was on a mission to investigate a Hollow attack in the living realm and quickly took control of the situation, her studious nature coming in handy as she had read mission logs from more experienced Shinigami. After determining what kind of Hollow was at fault, Mizu and her team were able to track itto a nearby empty warehouse and swiftly dispatch it through strategic coordination that utilized each person's individual strengths.
At this point, mid-2121, what differentiated her from her fellow seated officers was her lack of Shikai. Her rank was a result of her hard work and studies, and leadership abilities, not her combat ability. This glaring issue needed to be remedied as soon as possible, and so Mizu began spending every extra waking moment performing Jinzen to communicate with her Zanpakuto. It took months until her Zanpakuto even revealed its spirit form to her, appearing as an almost entirely nude woman with azure skin and long flowing hair cascading down her back and over her shoulders. Another three months passed before Mizu was given the opportunity to prove herself to this mysterious spirit inhabiting her sword, during which she nearly died more times than she cared to count. Finally after what seemed an eternity, the spirit introduced herself as Shousenmaru and relinquished her powers to the young Shinigami.

» Racial Abilities:
Master Kidō: Mizu is an extraordinarily talented Kidō practitioner. She has shown the ability to weave multiple different spells together to spring traps and overwhelm opponents. She has also used spells as high as Bakudō 81 and Hadō 89 in battle, and can use higher, usually in conjunction with other spells as part of complex strategies involving Kidō. In addition, she has created multiple custom spells with unique effects, including Genso Kakusan which can alter spells even as high as Hadō 88 with additional traits. Mizu has displayed a proficiency in essentially all forms of Shinigami magic, such as creating multiple complex barriers and healing wounds of herself and others with Kaidō. She can entirely forgo incantations or verbalizing any spellcasting indicators without any loss in efficacy, and has even developed her own school of Kidō called Gokudō which is essentially on-the-fly spell creation.
Gokudō (語口道, "Way of the Recital"): Though straightforward in use, Gokudo is a highly complex school of Kidō developed by Morikawa Mizu to become better prepared to deal with all kinds of situations. It's function is simple: Channel Reishi into power words, which form somewhere around her, which then become on-the-fly spells of that word. For instance, by forming the word "Torrent" she can create a surging river of water, and then by forming the word "Freeze" she can turn said water into a spreading sheet of ice. The uses of Gokudo are endless, limited only by the user's imagination.
However, there are limitations of Gokudo itself. On a one-to-one basis, spells cast with Gokudo, due to the complexity and difficulty of molding the involved Reishi, are more Reiryoku intensive than standard Kidō spells. Overuse of Gokudo can quickly exhaust the user as a result. In addition, while "Torrent" can create a river of water that goes in any direction the caster desires, they're still limited by the power word involved. Meaning, "Torrent" requires another power word to be anything but a straight river of water. As such, while Gokudo is versatile, complex uses and combinations of power words are incredibly exhausting and especially difficult to use in the first place.
- Name: Gekiryū Kanketsusen (激流間欠泉, Torrential Geyser)
- Type: Hadō
- Number: Equivalent to mid 20's spell
- Effects: After calling out the incantation or casting this spell Mizu traces a foot wide circle in the air in front of herself which summons a porthole from which gushes a torrent of crystal clear water. The user has some control over the water's pressure, with the potential maximum being limited by their spiritual power. This spell can be used for supportive purposes to put out fires or it can send an opponent reeling if enough pressure is applied. Like a real fire hose, Gekiryū Kanketsusen can be difficult to aim and if the user is not careful or ill prepared they can quickly lose control of the spell causing it to end early.
- Incantation: O lords of the deep, deliver unto thus your ocean might
- Name: Zuishinkabe [随身壁. Protection Deity's Wall]
- Type: Bakudō
- Number: Equivalent to mid 20's spell
- Effects: Once the user has said the incantation they hold both arms horizontally with their palms out and summon a tan barrier in front of them. This barrier can be a variety of sizes, small as a buckler or big as a wall, and can be either a flat surface or a sphere around the user. Shugoshin Uōru is unique in that it is not a hard surface meant to stop attacks in their tracks, instead it is a rubbery material that can absorb impact and deflect physical blunt attacks (up to a point). This barrier is weak to cutting and stabbing, and vulnerable to extreme temperature as it can be frozen and shattered at extreme lows or melted at extreme highs. For these reasons one of the best uses of this spell is to protect oneself when they are sent flying into hard surfaces like a building or the ground.
- Incantation: God of armor, God of panoply, God of the aegis: Repel!
- Name: Sei-kotsu Sōkō (聖骨の鎧, Sacred Bone Armor)
- Type: Bakudō
- Number: 55
- Effects: Once the user casts this spell their body is momentarily hidden by a bright light before revealing their form now clad in a suit of Barrier Kidō-like armor. This armor is made up of many plates of solidified Reishi which hover about two inches off the caster's body. These plates of Reishi do not collide and pass straight through each other, leaving the user's movements unimpeded. Like any Kidō barrier Sei-kotsu Sōkō can protect from both physical and energy attacks, though sufficiently strong examples of either can damage or shatter it. Typically this consists of repeated hits from enemies with stats lower than or equivalent to the caster's Kidō rank, with variation based on the amount of effort used by said enemies, or singular hits from those with higher stats. It does not protect from changes in temperature, eg if struck with a blast of fire the wearer would still suffer from heat exhaustion. This spell's duration is based on the user's skill level, with the following table explaining how:
- Beginner: N/A
- Adept: 1 Post
- Advanced: 3 Posts
- Elite: 5 Posts
- Master: 10 Posts
- Grandmaster: Limited only by the caster's energy supply
- Name: Genso Kakusan (元素拡散, Elemental Diffusion)
- Type: Supplemental, not categorized
- Number: Equivalent to mid 20's, no true equivalent due to nature of spell
- Effects: This audacious spell is something Morikawa Mizu spent a considerable amount of time and effort brewing up. In essence when cast by itself it does nothing, but if cast in conjunction with another Kidō spell Mizu is able to change said spell's existing elemental affinity (such as Sōkatsui's fire affinity) or apply a new one altogether. This can allow her to use any spell in any situation, no longer limited her available repertoire to what happens to be effective against any given foe. However, crucially, Genso Kakusan is limited in what sorts of elements it can apply to spells: Only lightning, fire, earth, cold/ice, wind (causes spells to blow away hazards from the battlefield like gases while also making them razor sharp), and "impact" (this nontraditional element provides any given spell with a blunt physical impact beyond what it might normally possess) can be applied to spells. Combining elements into a single spell is dangerous and has a heightened chance of failing, with more than two causing the spell to automatically fail and misfire. Like any other spell overuse can exhaust the caster, and using different elements in rapid succession can have unintended effects (using fire then cold/ice can weaken the latter, while the reverse is also true). In addition, the power of the added element is mainly limited by the caster's skill level with lower ranks only being able to apply base attributes of elements (eg in fire's case, they could make a spell hot but not an inferno) while higher ranks (typically Advanced+) have more freedom for what they can do.
- Incantation: Given the unique quality of this spell, it's incantation is also nontraditional. In lieu of a true incantation, the caster (if Elite or below) must say "Genso Kakusan: Apply X [Where X=chosen element]". If Master or Grandmaster, the user can apply this spell without any verbal cue.
- Name: Sangai Gobashira Taihō (三界五柱大砲, Three Realms Five Pillars Cannon)
- Type: Hadō
- Number: 89
- Effects: The practitioner places their hands on the ground below them, causing five large, crimson pillars of energy to form around the body. These pillars travel upwards about fifteen feet before firing at the caster's designated target. Not only do they travel quickly, this spell also tracks and follows its target until all five pillars are either eliminated or they converge upon them, causing a devastating explosion. The force and power of this explosion is dependent on how many of the pillars of energy hit their target, ranging from moderate with one to extreme with five. As expected from a Kidō numbered in the high 80's, Sōzō Hashira Taihō saps a large amount of energy from its caster.
- Incantation: O', Five Gods who lift the Three Realms and all of creation, raise up the World, and all Life and all Death, and Converge upon the center of all that is and shall be!
I. Sealed Powers
» Zanpakutô Name: Shōsenmaru (晶川丸, Crystal River)
» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: Shousenmaru appears as a beautiful woman in her late twenties to early thirties with semi translucent blue skin. Her silvery hair hangs down nearly to her feet, some of which is in braids while the rest hangs loose. Shousenmaru also has bright violet eyes and sharp facial features, giving her an elegant, otherworldly appearance. For clothing she wears very little, what amounts to practically a bikini bathing suit, and has pieces of jewelry all over her body all of which is inlaid with glittering diamonds of various shapes and sizes.
» Inner World: Mizu's Inner World takes the form of a huge rushing river sandwiched between two forests of towering trees which stretch into the sky, reaching for the heavens above. Instead of jutting rocks the river is littered with glinting purple crystals which are constantly, albeit somewhat slowly, changing size and shape, apparently impervious to the erosive effects of the flowing water. This area is always lit brightly by clear unchanging skies.
» Zanpakutô Appearance:
» Sealed Zanpakutô Power: Shousenmaru possesses some of the mythical traits typically associate with amethyst crystals, including healing and calming effects on it's user. In practice this Zanpakuto radiates a minor aura which simultaneously helps keep Mizu focused with clear thoughts, sharpening her decision making, as well as makes her slightly more resistant to disease and poison. As stated this effect is only minor and isn't sufficient to protect her from as strong or stronger opponents, though it can help her recover from illness and negative mental effects more quickly.
I. Shikai
» Shikai Release Phrase: Crystallize, Shōsenmaru!
» Shikai Release Action: Mizu will hold her Zanpakuto aloft and rapidly slide her open-palmed hand across it's back edge, causing the sword's blade to shatter into dozens of small amethyst-like crystals which scatter across the ground around her.
» Shikai Appearance: While her Zanpakuto is released Mizu experiences no substantial appearance changes besides her eyes turning a sparkling violet.
» Shikai Abilities:
Special Ability: Shousenmaru possesses the unique ability to create, shape, and control amethyst-like crystals. These violet crystals have a vitreous luster and shine brilliantly in direct sunlight. They also appear to emit light and glow in darkness. The maximum amount she can make is roughly equivalent to a 10' cube, and can control it within a range of a 50 foot diameter around her. She can manipulate Shousenmaru's crystals to form simple objects like barriers and plain spears to defend and attack. Mizu can break apart the crystals into many tiny pieces which can be used to create waves of glass-like shards, emulating what she's read of Kuchiki Byakuya's Senbonzakura. Unfortunately the crystals are not as durable as his cherry blossom shards and shatter against strong defenses, and she also does not possess similar control thus if she is not careful Mizu can hurt herself with them. Due to her idolization of Byakuya this is her preferred way to fight even if it is not the most efficient or effective.
Special Ability 2: In order to protect herself in close range Mizu can use half of her available crystals to materialize Shousenmaru's blade. When in this form it has all the regular traits and appearance of her Zanpakuto, and she cannot form her crystals into shapes beyond solid walls or platforms.
Special Ability 3: When Shousenmaru releases it's power it's sealed ability becomes stronger in addition to the unique abilities granted to Mizu, and is even useful during the heat of battle. While her Shikai is activated she gains additional resistance to poisons and negative mental effects, though not to the degree of her skills being a rank higher, allowing her to keep calm and maintain her focus, and prevent her from succumbing to some mental and physical "infections" she normally could not fight off.
I. Bankai
» Bankai Release Phrase: Bankai, Seihari Shōsen! (浄玻璃晶川丸, Clear Glass Crystal River)
» Bankai Release Action: To release her Bankai, Mizu holds her Zanpakuto in front of her which causes all her Shikai's crystal shards to swirl around her which then stops and hides her within a reflective orb. This chrysalis then shatters, revealing her new form.
» Bankai Appearance:
» Bankai Abilities:
Special Ability: Seihari Shōsen possesses all the abilities of Mizu's Shikai, only amplified greatly. The range in which she can control her crystal shards has increased from a 50' diameter to 150', and the amount her Bankai creates is also significantly greater. The crystal is simultaneously stronger and more easily able to inflict wounds either through cutting or crushing, and more durable. In addition, Mizu can exert significantly greater control over her crystals in this release and can craft more complex constructs using them. One example would be instead of forming simple spears, she could form crystal chains and a harpoon, a bola, etc. Her increased precision with her crystals makes it easier to catch opponent unaware by forming both small and large constructs far away from each other to confuse and overwhelm.
Suishō Kagami (水晶鏡, Crystal Mirror): In Bankai Mizu's crystals take on an addition characteristic. When formed into solid walls, they possess the ability to reflect and rebound her Kidō spells with no loss in power or speed. This allows her to change a spell's trajectory after casting it, which can catch an opponent off guard if they either don't realize she can do this or by surrounding them with spells making escape or blocking them more difficult.

I. Role Play Sample
» Roleplay Sample:
The woman in black fled across the riverbank, and the Shinigami followed.
The river was not real. It glittered in the sunlight like a real river, it splashed tiny droplets of cool water across the ground like a real river, and it's current burbled loudly like a real river. Yet it was only as real as a passing thought on a summer day. The cloudless, wholly featureless sky and grass and rock-strewn riverbeds were the same. As were the jutting violet gemstones littered throughout the riverbed. Everything about this ageless land was fiction.
The Shinigami ran briskly, galloping across the riverbank. Her lithe body was hidden beneath a black kimono her people called Shihakusho, fitting for those known as soul reapers. Her right hand was placed firmly on the hilt of the sword resting at her hip, tied to the obi sash wrapped around her waist. She had not unlocked the potential of her Zanpakuto, so she was chasing this woman; had she already done so this pursuit would not be necessary. After all, the woman she was chasing is her Zanpakuto
The two came to a halt as the woman in black reached the other side of the flowing river. She turned and steadfastly faced her pursuer, unafraid of what was to come. "Please, I just need to know your name!' shouted the Shinigami, her words barely reaching across the babbling channel. "If you just tell me your name I'll leave you alone!" After weeks of Jinzen, a meditative ritual to converse with her Zanpakuto, which always ended fruitlessly for her, Morikawa Mizu's impassioned plea was as determined as it was desperate. For someone like her who always progressed through hard work and dedication, this seemingly hopeless task grew tiresome.
Silence permeated the air between the two, broken up only by the continued gurgling of the river. Nothing could be seen of the woman in black beneath her solemn hood, her expression a mystery. Exasperated, Mizu knew not what to say nor what to do. How to proceed when progress is not guaranteed? With a lurch she rushed forward, expecting the woman in black to fall back into her pattern of running away before stopping momentarily, but she did not. As Mizu's foot meant to touch down upon the crystalline platform before her it found no such surface and continued, the current swallowing her leg in it's entirety. As she fell haphazardly into the water Mizu could just barely make out a sorrowful, gentle voice whisper But...what if I don't want to be alone...?"

Comments/Notes:
[Special Ability 3]: We rarely allow abilities to completely up one skill let alone two to a level higher, especially when the zanjutsu rank is only adept and her other two skills are already adept. You can reword this to reinforce her mental state and resistance to poisons when she is in shikai with greater effectiveness than her sealed ability which will be taken into account during the course of her shikai but at this stage it should be removed.
[Optional]: Zuishinkabe [随身壁. Protection Deity's Wall] is something I would recommend for your Bakudo spell, it's current name is only comprised of katakana which is just phonetically making the sound of "wall" rather than actually meaning wall by lacking a kanji.
