Left to My Own Devices [Levi, Loukas]
Thu Feb 25, 2021 3:14 am
LEVI
Ahh, what a lovely place this City of Lights was! Honestly, Levi'd sort of expected it would disappoint, with such a big fancy title like that. You'd need a lot of lights to merit being called a whole city of them, you know, and comparing to others cities like France or Las Vegas or whatever would be pretty rough. But it was a pretty pleasant surprise to see it so bright!
Taking a seat to look over the map on his phone, Levi idly twirled his hair around his finger with his free hand, one leg crossed over the other as he thought about where to go next. Mmmm... There were a few bars it looked like, some restaurants, but there wasn't anything he was really seeing that just...popped! Ya know?
Well wasn't that just a complete shame! Leaning back against the bench as he slid his phone into his pocket, Levi continued toying with his hair as he scanned the surroundings. There'd have to be something fun around here... Oh! Or someone, my my my~! With a grin that seemed almost distressingly pleased with himself, as if it were some great feat to have simply seen someone, Levi approached the vision of loveliness he'd spotted-- one brown-haired Sueki, to be precise.
"Excuse me, but are you from around here? I'm not quite up to speed on the whole area yet. Hope ya don't mind if I ask you some questions~"

Loukas Holt | The Man Searching For A Future
It hadn't been long since Loukas had moved to the City of Light full time, residing in a dorm room not unlike the one he'd been assigned as a college freshman. Saisei had been as welcoming as possible, a delightful tour guide, but Loukas still found himself getting turned around a fair amount, especially in the heart of the city.
Of course, it didn't help that he was in general weaker during the day time, the stinging of any exposed skin being an easy distraction from watching where he was going. As it happened, those were the exact circumstances that led him to pausing in his tracks, suddenly realizing he wasn't where he wanted to be. Frowning to himself, Loukas dug out his phone, just barely unlocking it when a smooth voice called out to him from behind.
A little bit startled, Loukas turned around to face the stranger who was- Oh. Quite pretty. He flushed a little, hoping that the shadow of his hood hid the reddening of his face well enough. The man before him had long silky hair that made Loukas' fingers twitch with the instinctive and intrusive urge to touch.
He cleared his throat, reminding himself of what he'd been asked. "Oh, I'm pretty new to the area myself, moved here recently." Was his voice wavering a little or was he just paranoid? "Honestly," Loukas huffed out a little embarrassed laugh before continuing, "I'm a little lost myself right now. But I'm free enough to hopefully be able to answer any questions you might have?"
Fuck, why didn't he just announce to the world that he was a little desperate to keep this frankly gorgeous stranger company for as long as he could? The sueki was sure it was written on his face, he'd never been good at hiding his emotions after all.

LEVI
"Aha, I see, I see~"
Levi's tone was almost musical for all the whimsy in his voice, his enjoyment at this prospect not especially subtle. Of course, why should he be subtle about it? Such an absolutely precious find, it was everything he could do not to just take his hand and whisk him away somewhere quieter. Oh, but that wouldn't be very romantic at all, now would it? Not a pleasant thought, not at all!
"Well, if we're both a little lost on where to go, then I'd think it would be good if we kept a close eye on each other, don't you? It's dangerous to go alone in a big city, especially when you're sure to draw so much attention."
His little spiel was punctuated by a laugh that bordered on girlish in nature, best described as a giggle in all truth. It wasn't necessarily that he was trying to tease his new exploration buddy, that would be rude. He just liked to make the conversation a little more interesting, that was all.
"Oh, I haven't even asked for your name. You can call me Levi, or anything else that pops into your head, really. Hearing your voice ought to be enough to catch my attention."
Well, maybe he was teasing a little.

Loukas Holt | The Man Searching For A Future
Loukas kept finding his eyes sliding towards the man's face, staying there for an inordinately long time until he caught himself and snapped his gaze somewhere safer. As he offered to continue to stay with him, to walk with him, Loukas couldn't even register that he was clearly being flirted with, trying too hard to keep from just blatantly staring like a freak.
He flushed harder at the giggle and shifted where he stood, feeling restless. "Ah, I'm Loukas! Nice to meet you, Levi!" His introduction was perhaps a little too forceful, a bit loud in his excitement at learning the beautiful stranger's name. A shy smile upon his lips, Loukas ran a hand through his hair, hood falling back from his face. The sudden sunlight on his skin stung of course, but it didn't hurt enough to keep the eagerness from bubbling up inside his chest.
He'd only planned on going shopping today, after all. He could just go another time. Spending time with someone he'd just met was clearly more important. Maybe if Loukas hadn't felt as isolated as he had after his transformation, he'd have stepped back in this situation. Told himself to be careful. People didn't always have good intentions, and especially now, he knew this first hand.
But he'd been dying for affection recently. Hearing a compliment to his voice, however subtle it was... It made him hunger for more.
Loukas faked a little cough, covering his mouth to keep his likely idiotic smile from showing. "So, what did you have in mind when coming out today, Levi?"

Oh, he was just adorable! It was obvious Loukas was doing his best not to be too too forward, and yeah, that wasn't working totally as intended, but that was just part of his charm! Well, and that cute face under the hood didn't hurt either, if he was being totally honest, but Levi wasn't so shallow that he only cared about looks!
"Loukas, hmm~? I like that. It rolls off the tongue easy, ya know? It's fun to say. Loukas~"
Most people probably would have felt some degree of shame at saying something so mind-bogglingly inane, but Levi wasn't the sort for that level of self-reflection. Besides, was he really supposed to just hold his tongue when he was dealing with someone so precious?? There were plenty of things he wouldn't have minded doing with his tongue, but holding it wasn't super duper high on the list. Ack, no, no getting caught up in all those kinds of thoughts yet! Slow, steady, romantic!
"I didn't really have much of anything in mind, if I'm being honest with ya. I'd heard the City of Lights was a pretty place, so I thought I'd stop by. Thought they meant the city itself though, not the boys who lived in it."
Another effeminate giggle escaped his lips, accompanied by an equally effeminate gesture of covering his mouth with his fingertips as he laughed. It was just second nature, honestly, and he was enjoying himself.
"But I had been hoping to find somewhere to maybe get a nice meal, if you wanted to join me? And maybe a little bit of shopping, too."

Loukas Holt | The Man Searching For A Future
It was a good thing he'd fed before heading out, or else he might have been too distracted to register the flirting. Which was most certainly happening now, right? If it wasn't, Loukas would feel absolutely terrible for assuming, but it was hard to misunderstand that tone of voice. Still, there was a seed of doubt that it was just wishful thinking until Levi called him pretty.
"I'm not- I mean, you're-" he spluttered, face finally meeting its max capacity for color change. How embarrassing, to be acting like a lovestruck teenager once again. He'd thought those years were well behind him but, well, it seemed he was being proven wrong. Loukas cleared his throat. "That is, uh, you're... much prettier. Than me. And the city."
The sueki refused to look over at Levi's face, afraid to see even a hint of rejection or any signs that he really had read the situation wrong. Fidgeting with the hem of his jacket, Loukas felt his mouth open once more with mortification, but he couldn't stop himself before he spoke again. "A meal sounds nice. Um, you pick and I'll treat you?"

LEVI
Every little stutter and fidget of Loukas' only made Levi feel all the more self-assured that he had made a very good choice. Then again, he did have some pretty great taste, so it really just made sense that a guy he'd picked out would be completely perfect. Any idea that jumping right to "perfect" was probably getting ahead of himself was totally absent from his head-- well, a lot of things were, actually. But this was a question of confidence, not intelligence.
"Oho~ You think I'm prettier? Well, I normally wouldn't dispute that one. I am one tasty piece of bitch, after all." Levi actually had no idea what that even meant, but he was pretty sure he'd heard someone say it before, and he liked how it sounded. "Buuuut, I might have to give up my usual crown of hottest in town, least while I'm here. That's a pretty big deal, ya know."
Cute as Loukas was (and he was very cute, by the way) Levi wasn't the sort to just cultivate shyness. He was an outgoing boy, after all, and he wanted everyone to enjoy life like he did. Bringing a single finger under Loukas' chin, he brought the Sueki's face closer to his own, enough to ensure their gazes met.
"That sounds perfect. Heheen~"
And with a wink, he moved away from Loukas once more, just as quickly as he'd moved in close. He was already on the hunt for whatever shop he decided would be just perfect for their little date, eyes darting every which way. But, of course, he made sure Loukas' hand was right in his. They were going together, after all!

Loukas Holt | The Man Searching For A Future
Oh god. He'd ruined it. He'd ruined everything. There was no way he could come back from this, was there? Loukas was doomed to be dumb and alone and- Wait, Levi didn't seem disgusted. Loukas tuned his attention back in just in time to hear the most absurd thing come out of the other man's mouth, the phrase forcing out a wheezed little giggle. "I wouldn't worry about that," he said, a little more relaxed now. "You're definitely the hottest person I've seen here, let alone, like, ever."
Was that stupid to say? Maybe. But Loukas tried not to let the embarrassment get to him anymore, as much as he could anyways. His efforts were squandered almost immediately, however, when Levi forced him to look at him close up, a slender finger tilting his chin. He was certain his face was closer to the color of Levi's eyes now, what with how breathless he felt. "Um-" he choked out, breath hitching.
But then Levi pulled away, leaving Loukas with his mouth agape, after telling him that seemed like a perfect plan. Distantly, Loukas hoped he had enough money on him, even though it wasn't likely he didn't. A hand smoothly slid itself into his, fingers slotting together, and he breathed out audibly. "Okay," he whispered to himself, "this is really happening."
Hopefully he'd get himself together soon. He couldn't imagine feeling like this the whole time they were together today, after all.

LEVI
"Wohoah, the hottest person ever? Better be careful sayin' stuff like that, Lulu, you might give me a big head. And I'd never wanna seem cocky, it'd totally kill my charm!"
Levi's smile seemed almost innocent for all the joy in it, even if it was more or less impossible for the word "innocent" to ever go anywhere near him. He led the way through the City of Lights with what bordered on reckless abandon, only barely keeping himself from dragging Loukas around. This really was such a pretty city! But he was looking for somewhere to eat, so--
"Oh! Oh oh oh, look at that!"
Without actually gesturing toward anything in particular to indicate what he meant, Levi was off once more, still taking Loukas right along for the ride. It only took a few moments, and the two were in fact not in front of any sort of eatery, but what looked to just be a shop of assorted glasswork. His expression, however, had brightened even more from its already quite lively visage, as if this were the most exciting thing he had seen in his entire life.
"Do you like glass, Lulu? I think it's really neat, all the stuff they can do with it! I mean, how do they even put those little jellyfishes and stuff in the ones that look like water? Wouldn't it melt?"
Naturally, Loukas was not exempt from Levi's attentions either, even if they were mostly of the physical sort now due to his fascination by mundane glass art. His hand was being tugged with every question, as if he would have the answers Levi sought, and the riverboy was absolutely standing close enough that anyone walking by would reasonably assume they were a couple. Oooh, now that was a nice thought!

Loukas Holt | The Man Searching For A Future
"L-Lulu?" he exclaimed, eyes wide with surprise. Loukas hadn't expected to already be given a nickname, let alone even get one at all. A thrill ran through his system at being called it, even as Levi began to drag him off through the area. Every time he remembered, his heart seemed to beat a little faster than before.
Loukas easily kept up with Levi, long legs powerful from years of being trained. He knew that soon he'd have to put his hood back up in order to avoid the sun actually burning and doing lasting damage, even if he could hear his companion calling it a waste already. The sueki bit his lip as Levi came to a stop in front of a glass shop, face already feeling tight and painful, hot from something other than his own flush.
As quickly and casually as he could, Loukas slipped his hand out of Levi's and pulled his hood back up and over his face, shielding it once again from the sunlight. "It is pretty interesting. I remember one time, my parents took me to a shop where the owner did live glassblowing... It was amazing to watch and see how these works of art were formed." His voice was soft and filled with fondness for the memory, the warmth of Levi's body very casually brushing against him every so often a comfort now instead of a distraction.
He looked around the display for a little bit, pausing when a certain piece caught his eye. "Hey Levi, would you mind if I went in and checked something out real quick?"
