Song: Kill The Lights [Nightcore] - By: Cherry - Word Count: N/A

Mirja hung around the Vastimian training grounds for a while, waiting for Henrex to turn up. When she got the letter, she had laughed herself stupid, and when she met him face to face she would probably laugh herself stupid again. The technique called for peace, and that seemed anthema to Henrex, something that could cause actual, physical pain to feel. Unlike the Happy Punch Mirja was working on, which would cause physical pain and happiness. So, maybe to Henrex, Happiness was a punch? Could explain why he hung around her so often. A better explanation than he is just a nutter.

However, he didn't turn up. She had felt his particular brand of spiritual energy in the vicinity, she couldn't pin point it but it was certainly unique enough for her to pluck it out of a crowd at a distance she usually couldn't pull off. But, maybe she should work on that. Maybe, a martial arts form based on reiatsu perception. That would probably be really good, actually...so she spent a few minutes thinking about the basis before growing agitated when there was no Henrex. What kind of guy stood a girl up like this?

Now annoyed and looking to punch him in the face, she set off into the city, following her nose and letting her instinct guide her to the most concentrated level of morbid saturation in the city. She eventually found him, all cross legged and hands on knees like he was waiting for her to deliver him a cup of some shit or stuff.

She was not a Maid! Well, she was inside her shop, and she wore a maid's uniform, but that was her shop, and this was not her shop. So Mirja snuck up on the raven. Surprisingly light on her feet when she wanted to be, and with no spiritual output to be sensed, she was pretty apt at the how sneaking business. Once behind him, she would proceed to try and give him a clobbering across the head, for ever standing her up and then just sitting here like she wasn't expecting him or something.

Song: This Is Gonna Hurt - By: Cherry - Word Count: N/A

Mirja didn't quite get off the shot she was looking for, she had been too bothered with not actually hurting him to make the hit count. He was pretty aware of his surroundings, she had to give him that. But he was too jumpy. He rolled away like she was some sort of hitwoman here to take his life, and even glared at her with an annoyed look on his face. Most amusingly, he grabbed his sword as if it was going to do anything if she really wanted to have his head. So she decided to do something she did rarely and show off.

Mirja took off from her stand point fast enough that he would probably only just be registering her absence when she spoke softly in his ear. Far from sultry like she normally was at this angle, it had barbs.
"Fangs away, little pup. I want to laugh hysterically at you and you are ruining the mood" she whispered, and then returned to where she stood originally, looming in her generally looming manner. Mirja didn't need Reiatsu to pressure a person's psyche when she deigned to put aside her eccentricities.

"Yes, I was, am, going to teach you something. So, if you are going to be trained in someone's arts, then the best place to hang around is the training ground, no? Unless otherwise specified, which it wasn't, the first place to look for a person who has offered to train you, is the training grounds. So why then are you in some random alleyway getting comfortable?" She asked. Her tone had bite to it, but the surface kind of irritation, anger that meant little and would not burn hot enough to drive her to do anything untowards.

Song: Armed and Ready - By: RWBY V4 OST - Word Count: 538

For some reason, this little meeting between the Wolf and the Raven seemed much more hostile and just the slightest bit unnerving for the Raven. After Mirja had attacked him out of nowhere practically, things had felt a lot more tense about this entire situation. His fingers tightened around the handle of his sword, before releasing mere moments later. Was she here to hurt him, or was that entire thing just her form of a joke? The most subtle of twitches that she made was immediately picked up by Henrex's eyes, but that twitch was all that he managed to see from her before she disappeared.

At first, worry set into the system of the male. Knowing that she emitted no spiritual pressure because of her unique physiology, it wasn't exactly something that was reassuring seeing the person that could pound a hole into your chest in an instant just disappear, and having no clue where they had went. But, his senses kicked in once again, and the sounds that she made from behind him at first caused him to begin to draw his sword, before her head leaned into him, and she whispered to him a warning. Saying for him to put his "fangs" away, and that she wanted to laugh at him, and that he was ruining the mood.

Wincing slightly from the tone of the comment, Henrex closed his eyes and released his steel grip from his weapon, and inhaled deeply, before releasing the stream of air from his lungs and lips, causing a slight wave of relaxation to flow through his body. As he opened them Mirja was once again standing in front of him, then questioned him about why he was here, seeing as she was indeed going to train him in something, and that those who were going to be trained in the arts of someone else should meet in the training area. Well, that would be easily explainable, now wouldn't it?

"The reason I am here is because your "training" tends to involve the destruction of everything within a mile radius. So, here I am. If we need to go back there because the training isn't as destructive as I assumed, then we can just go back there. Either way, what exactly are you going to be training me in?"

After saying this, Henrex would cautiously approach the Wolf, standing a around half a foot in front of her, before turning around and heading back to the Vastime training grounds, before making a small gesture for the Mad Wolf to follow him. As they would head back, Henrex would gently prod at Mirja with some casual conversation that hopefully would calm her down and let them have a more relaxed training session, and not one that would end up Mirja going harder than she should be because of annoyance or anger.

"So, you created your own martial art? I must say, I'm impressed. Usually it takes years for even the most refined martial art masters to be able to perfect their skill to such a degree to that they would be able to call it their own personal style, and teach it to others. Earth Defying Array. The name is...interesting. Why did you call it that?"

Mirja, The Wolf of Eden

Well, he had some brains, at least. She could understand a reaction from being spooked when she showed off her true speed, the enhancements from her new Eve Prime legs pushing it far beyond what it used to be, and gave her the ability to shift at the speed of sound from the getgo, rather than having a start up time, even of a few seconds. But Henrex did not continue his hostilities. It seemed despite the ego she had run into a few times, he knew when he was outmatched. And so she just smirked, and followed him to the training ground as he offered.

"You do know that Vastimian Training Centers can withstand more than even I can throw at them, right? I tried it once, and it didn't break. It kinda dented a little, but it was far from breaking. Also, no they do not. My training is always pristine and beautiful, nothing gets broken when I train either myself, or other people. Except, well, other people get broken when I train myself or other people, but there is no structural damage" she explained, listening to him as he mentioned how hard it was to make a martial arts style.
"Well, yes I have made one but that isn't this. This I didn't make. Ashigoi Kazuri made the basics for this, and I just built up from there. It's called the Earth-Defying Array because it is an Array born from the defiance of earthly tethers. Also it's only a stepping stone, it's not the true skill" She told him, before they entered the training center, and Mirja turned to him. Then, the laughter began.

It rang loud, and long, hysterical, and sort of barking. It went on so long that there was even a point when she was probably going to pass out from the lack of breath, but she kept on laughing, and laughing, until she eventually stopped, wiped away her tears, and stood up.
"You read the part about finding peace, right? Doesn't that set you on fire when you feel it or something?" She teased, leaning back as if she was leaning on a lamp post, but there was no such post in view. "And that's, peace peace, not absence of emotions peace. If you are absent of emotions, you are absent of peace, and this will not work"

When it came down to the root of the entire situation, Henrex was far from stupid. He preferred the term "forgetful", or "ignorant", which was a much better way of describing his partial idiotic nature at times. As they walked back to the training grounds of Vastime, Mirja was very keen on enlightening Henrex on the facts of the Vastime Nation's land. Saying that it could take more than she could throw at it was something that was a bit of a shock. But, rather than showing it, Henrex's eyebrow merely rose in interest as she said this, saying that she only managed to put a dent into it when she actually attempted to destroy something in the place.

Then, she began speaking about how nothing got destroyed or broken when she was training herself or others, minus the unlucky saps that stood in her way. Now, that was something that Henrex didn't expect to hear from the Wolf. Someone who was so full of power, able to dish out punishment enough to bring mountains and most likely more into submission, was able to keep herself from breaking herself, or others. So, upon hearing this, small bit of laughter would ensure from the Raven, his back bending to push his midsection forward, before straightening once again.

But, Mirja wasn't done yet. She then went on to explain that she didn't create the style, but merely added on to it. Nodding subtly at the comment, Henrex fully understood what she was saying. After all, he had fought alongside one of Japan's strongest swordsmen, Takeshi Masamoto, who had trained under Musashi, someone who had created their own sword style. Henrex had never really figured out how he would be able to add on to something like that. It was so...perfect, to him. When Takeshi had taught him the Ichi-ryu, he had explained that the style, to him as capturing the spirit of winning by all means. It made sound sense in his mind. But, he still could not figure out how he would add to Musashi's work without feeling as if he had done something wrong.

As the two hybrids stepped forth into the Vastimian training grounds, Mirja let loose with laughter. Turning around and tilting his head to the side, generally confused, Henrex opened his mouth to ask what she was laughing at, before saying the one thing that he figured she would comment about. Finding peace was a part of this training course. Seeing as Henrex's soul was constantly torn about by conflict and worry, and all these other emotions and mental states, it would be hard to imagine him being able to understand, or even be able to find inner peace. But, this answer was simple. While he had never truly achieved inner peace, he had taken many zen lessons with both his samurai teacher, and his ninja grand master.

A small smile passed over the face of the Raven as she continued to tease him, asking how it didn't detonate him when the mere thought existed, and even going as far as to dissipate the ideas of emotionless peace out of the picture. Shaking his head gently, the male approached the Wolf once again, the smallest hints of a smile on his face as his mismatched eyes burned their mark into the silver eyes of Mirja.

"I am very well aware of the part of finding peace. I may not have been able to find it beforehand, but I have taken many lessons from both my samurai teachers, and my ninja teachers of the subject. To know yourself, is to be at peace."

So, finishing that, Henrex's body would turn around once again, his feet carrying him to the very center of the Vastimian training grounds, before snapping his fingers, and his Zanpakuto would suddenly vanish, retreating into his inner world. Sitting down on the ground, with his legs crossed, Henrex's head would turn to the sides, with multiple cracks being heard from the location.

"So, this will mainly be a mental exercise?"

Mirja, The Wolf of Eden

He smiled! Henrex! The Raven that was breaking the world record for longest single brooding session, actually smiled. It was mind boggling. Mirja quickly checked the walls to make sure that Reality Itself was not coming apart at the seems, and then turned back to Henrex when she confirmed that she was in stable space. She hadn't hit her head and gone to wonky land. Which meant that Henrex had evolved. Grown very quickly from the guy she had met so long ago, and Iko had tried to kill because he had flirted with her. Awkwardness aside, Mirja could respect that growth. And it made her smile, a wolfy smile.

"Well, it certainly seems like you are confident you can pull this off. What, the Grimdark kid is hence, Nevermore?" She asked, a horribly bad pun referencing both his Raven montif and the Poe-try that he enjoyed reading. Following him to the center of the training ground, she looked up at the roof. It was a fair ways off. Unless Henrex managed to spawn a Tulpa bigger than Mirja's own considerably sized Lady Caliburn, they should be alright for space. So she looked back to Henrex and sat down.
"Entirely, mental actually. That's the whole point. It basically brings out your thoughts and focuses them in the physical world. Peace, is the start. You've got to take that, and maintain it, while confronting what keeps you here. What drives you, what tethers you to the Earth, and what fires your blood. You must know it in your heart, and in your mind, and then you must let it go. Cast of what holds you tight to this Earth, and float free. Unburdened by your leashes, you must focus your free energy back into your body" she told him, it was all she could do.

"This, is more you than me. I can show you the door, but it is to you to walk through it, and down whatever road you may see. I can not force you through it, because it is not my place to make you"

It was rare to see Henrex smile nowadays. For there was so much negativity in the world around him, mostly induced by the people that he interacted with, it would sometimes be hard for him to be able to abandon those feelings of woe, and realize the happiness that was always an option. However, happiness was still a choice. And that choice was not something that would always come easy from some people. For Henrex, that choice had been something that he had forced himself to accept. Not just on his own, though. Through the "counsel" of others, and hours of meditation, he had finally been able to gather the strength to cast aside the shell of sorrows that he had melded.

And so, as Mirja commented on how confident he seemed that he could pull this off, then followed it up by a horribly laughable pun, Henrex found himself smiling once again, and his belly hefted to release a small bit of laughter from the comment of the Mad Wolf. As he sat down, he could see that she was looking at the roof. Tilting his head to the side, he wondered what she was doing that for. Safety, in case something went wrong? Not like something would go wrong with Henrex. If it regarded anything with energy, Henrex had pretty much an absolute mastery of his energy. So, anything regarding safety would not be something that he, or Mirja should be worried about.

But, something told him that there was more to that than he knew.

As she turned back to him, and sat down, she explained that this would be an entirely mental exercise, to which Henrex nodded in acceptance to this fact. It was about discovering peace within the soul. So, it was only natural that this task was to be based heavily off the mind. As she explained further on what he had to do to begin this, it was very self-explanatory. In fact, Henrex had heard it from his various zen teachers at multiple times. With Soke, the most recent, and the most memorable. He had told him as such:

Peace is not something that we are able to take from the area like we take into our lungs. We must detach ourselves from the world, while figuring out what keeps us there. What has brought us here? Those are questions we all must discover and answer for ourselves, Henrex-kun. So go. Discover what keeps you here, and let it go.

The words of his ninja master was something that was a tad bit sorrowful in his mind, since he wished to go back desperately. But, there was still unfinished business in the world around him, and he sought out to complete just that. Now, it was time to confront one of the things that he had sought out to complete. A deep breath came from the Raven, before his lips released the words to a mantra. Ancient, and could be considered to be as old as time itself. He was never truly enthusiastic about Buddhism itself, but he was very interested in the various things that was from the religion of Japan.

So, as he sat there, Henrex's body would be able to feel itself detaching itself from the world around him, and into the blackened abyss that was his mind. All of his thoughts were running free, but his mind was focused on one thing alone. And that was the question. What bound him here? What tethered him to the Earth, fired his blood? That is what he sought to find out. It would take time, but it would be something that would be given to him as he delved both into his past to remember, but also into himself so that he would understand it truly.

Mirja, The Wolf of Eden

Mirja leaned back and looked at Henrex, before getting up and silently pacing. When one looked at the loud, eccentric Wolf that was Mirja, all snarls, punches and claws, they would never expect her to be capable of subtlety. But control was part of a Martial Artists' life, and so she could be silent when she walked, if she wished. She just rarely wished. And control had ruled her life for centuries now, it came as natural as breathing. This was liable to take, as long as it took, Mirja did not know, her own training was not something she timed, and something she got lost in. So she just had to watch over Henrex, to tell him the most important part of the Earth-Defying Array. And then it would be on to the good stuff.

'Do you think you'll teach him your Territorial Tulpa?' Hvit asked, a voice in her ear, loving and soft these days.
'No. That is something that is mine, and mine alone. Plus, I doubt he will appreciate how I learned it. He may get irritated at how irresponsible I am. He is cute when he gets like that. If he carries on with this kind of evolution, he may even find someone to love. Although if he has the same sort of punctuality for his dates as he does for my training, he may find himself losing that someone. No girl likes being stood up' Mirja still seemed irritated at that, but Hvit just giggled softly.
'I'm sure he will mess up, but if he finds the right girl, someone like you but actually in love with him, then they will be tolerant of his flaws. As you are. Those from the outside may see your hate for him, but I, am on the inside' and with that comment, Hvit fell silent, and all Mirja could do was glare at Henrex. Should she murder him now? Eat the body, and then claim to have no idea where he had gone? She couldn't have him ruining her callous reputation, after all.
