The Unsung Hero Empty The Unsung Hero

Shinwoo had never been one to actively need to seek out a job, but at his age since school was coming to an end for him he needed to be able to. He was a well built athletic person with slight scars here and there from fights and training over the years. In more recent years it had been fights. Whether it was just some punk at school or even recently against a gang or two who pushed there bounds much too far. Though he barely came out alive that last time it still was something that he couldn't hold himself back from doing. He needed to help when others weaker than him were in need, because if not then why did he have this strength? He had longer white hair for a man that was up in a pony tail at this point for a more professional look. He wore a button up light blue shirt with a old black tie, something he'd gotten from a local discount store, and black slacks with a leather black belt around his waist and older black dress shoes on his feet. He hadn't grown up in money so he didn't have the greatest available to him, but never the less he did with what he could.

The look about him on this sunny and fluffy clouded day was one of determination, but also one of slight irritation. He wanted a job, but having to do it out of need rather than searching for one that he'd like to continue to do made it tougher on him, but it was going to happen eventually. On a crumbled piece of lined paper, on which he wrote down the places which were hiring, he glanced at it periodically to make sure he had the addresses of each place right. One by one he would go in, leave a resume and even once had a on the spot interview! Everything looked like it was going well and though nothing happened immediately he was optimistic about the results so far.

Not only had the results been going well but he loved days like this. Ones where if you were out in the open or in a field it would be the perfect nap weather. The weather where the wind would kiss across your face and the grass would embrace you like an old friend. Where the warmth of the sun was the blanket across your body and the sounds around were merely the music that entertained you. Unfortunately, unless you were willing to endanger yourself this was not the place to do that.

Speaking of endanger though he hadn't been up over here for a while, and he didn't really know if this was custom or not, but as he was walking down the street he began to notice these sleezy and sly guys start to bug these two young women across the street from him. Since he was on a mission today he wanted to just keep searching for a job, but lucky enough one of his application places kept him going down this same street for a while.

Observing the guys continue to pester and sweet talk he knew what that meant back where he lived. Big trouble, but here it seemed there was a tad bit more... ignorance. All of a sudden they turned a corner into an alley and well he knew what would come next.

Shinwoo took a deep breath and broke into a sprint narrowly dodging a high priced car which flew right past him, he slowed down and looked around the corner, and low and behold the girls were being shook down and "coerced". He never allowed this at home and he wouldn't allow it here. There were four of the aggressors, two larger and wider bully types, a smaller slimy sort of man and a smooth talker the one who could talk his way in and out of a bank with all the money he could carry. After observing for only a few moments, Shinwoo took a few breathes and with the start of one deep one he turned the corner and sprinted at the group.

One of the bigger aggressors had his back facing him along with the smaller slimy one. They seemed to be using their bodies to block the "situation" while the smooth talker was directly in front of the girls and the other bigger guy was on the other side of the girls, most likely to cut off escape. Shinwoo jumped into the air and grabbed around the first larger man's head grabbing at his forhead and swinging him backwards slamming him into the ground. With the unsubtle entrance he immediately dashed at the slimy shorter man and with a front kick he smashed the smaller man in his left shoulder making him fly into the wall.

Needless to say everyone was surprised, but there was no time to think or exchange pleasantries. He glanced over at the girls and said

"Run now."

With the girls dashing in the direction of the road he the smooth talker pulled out a switchblade and the big man began to approach him. They were spilling off some useless drivel, but all he cared about was finishing them off and getting back to his hunt. The large man threw a wide and easily predictable punch which Shinwoo ducked under and countered with a low kick to the outside of the man's right leg letting of a sound like a baseball bat hitting his thigh. It sent a jolt of pain across the man's body which was compounded when Shinwoo sent a punch right above the fat of his stomach and cause the air in his lungs to exhale and him now breathless he dropped to a knee and began to cough heavily.

Across from him the smooth talker just stood there with a slack jawed look. Like he was in disbelief of what was happening. Shinwoo took his elbow and slammed it down into the middle of the big man's spine sending him into the ground while staring directly into the smooth talker's eyes. The smooth talker broke into a cold sweat as Shinwoo began to approach him and even though he held a knife he couldn't move.

Maybe a foot away from the man Shinwoo smacked the knife out of his and swung his fist with a heavy blow at the man's face. The man expecting a reconstructive blow to his face was only met with a blast of wind to the face and a pair of knuckles right in front of his eyes. Though he was not physically harmed a funny smell entered the air as the man had pissed himself in his fear.

With that Shinwoo's job was finished here. He turned around and walked away with four men in one way or another beaten in the alley he wiped the little bit of sweat off of his face and cleared his hair so that he could see again. Luckily enough he didn't mess up his clothes too much he just retucked in his shirt and shook it off as he went to his next job interview.
