Henrex Astillon The Broken Raven Descend Into Darkness Please play posting music to hear what this character is playing. | Artist: N/A | Song: N/A | Word Count: 745 | Mizu yō ni nagare.... The sound of the water trickling was what signaled that this forest was alive. The wind swayed through the trees, causing the leaves to rustle, as well as to fall to the ground, pressing against the wind gently and elegantly. In the midst of this forest, there was a river. A full river, seemingly constantly running with fresh water as the day went on. The sun, shining down through the branches of the trees, casting a gentle glow in the green of the forests of Karakura. However, the sounds of the forest and the river was not the only thing that was giving life. The languid notes from an instrument echoed throughout the forest, with their origin coming from deeper within the forest. As one would venture deep into the forest, they would find a...strange sight. While most of it would not be strange, such as the lake that they would come across in this clearing. But, they main thing that one would be confused about would be the young male sitting cross-legged on the water. Small ripples occasionally formed underneath him, flowing to the very edges of the pond. Note after note came from the bamboo flute that he held in his hands, his lips pursed, and air flowing from his lungs to create the tone of the music that he was producing. His fingers gently danced over the small holes in the flute, causing the sounds to change. Dropping and rising, everything was forming together to create this unknown masterpiece of music. However, all songs had to end. As the music gently and mysteriously faded away, the young ninja took a silent breath, and his head slowly tilted backwards, before looking towards the sky. A cirrus day. Not a single cloud in sight. Closing his eyes and letting his hand fall to his side, Henrex stared at the sky for what seemed like an eternity. For some reason, he felt...distracted. A thought in his mind that had come up? Possibly. But, as of now, all he really could think of it being was a random part of his subconscious nagging at him about something. Quickly putting the feeling off, he raised the flute to his lips again, gently blowing into it, resuming the song from the beginning. It was a song that Henrex Astillon had created during his time with the ninja village, when he had been instructed to learn the shakuhachi. At first, he didn't really enjoy it, due to his own uncomfortable nature of performing in front of people. However, he quickly learned to get past that, even though he still preferred playing alone. Stopping his playing once again, Henrex looked at the water, gazing into the reflection of himself. However, there was no reflection. There was just a blur in the water, preventing anything from being seen. Frustrated by this, Henrex shook his head, thinking for something to get the water to calm itself. But, a thought soon came to him. His ninja teacher once told him something. When the mind is troubled, the water will be blurry, and unseen. However, when the mind is calm, the path will be open and clear. So, taking this into consideration, Henrex closed his eyes and focused on clearing his mind. To help aid with this, Henrex would call upon his skills as a ninja to guide him to the path of enlightenment. Placing his left fist into the open palm of his right, he began to channel a small portion of his energy through his body. As the energy traveled through his body, Henrex found his mind feeling...well, clear. He could think much more clearly, and most likely, see past his troubled mind. Opening his eyes, he slowly gazed into the water. Crystal clear. The face of the ninja boy was shown. However, upon seeing his face, he closed his eyes once again. Bringing the flute to his lips a third time, he found himself needing to play music. To keep the sense of calm that currently flowed within his veins. This time, a new song would flow from the instrument that the boy held. While it was still a calm and gentle song, it still had the lulling feeling that would calm the nerves of anyone who would happen to pass by. It was meant to be a soothing song. Even Henrex himself was becoming entranced by the music. So, would the boy's music bring attention to a passerby, or would it simply scare them away? |

Mirja, The Masterless Pet
Paw, kick, paw, kick. Attack the water, even if there was no water in sight and she lacked paws. It mattered naught, for she would find some water to attack, or she was not the Snow-Throwing Wolf! There was a distinct lack of snow in Karakura down, these days. Still, the forest was a nice place, and she was wearing a nice dress. A cute little one piece from China, red with floral patterns, and a slit up one leg so if she needed to move or kick someone it wouldn't hamper her movements. It also accented her breasts, and covered everything that was scarred, near enough. The two on her arms were unvieled, but the rest were not visible.
Her wolf tail went swish swish, in a cute manner as she skipped through the forest, not really going anywhere, not needing to go anywhere, just skipping for the sake of skipping. However, her ears pricked up as some music floated into her ears and made her stop. It was nice, like the sounds of Pan's Pipes, but of a slightly different pitch. She followed them, half expecting to actually find the Horned God under a tree. But she found something else, a man, a strange man at that. His smell - in her current mindset, more Iko than Mirja, she thought of Reiatsu perception as smell - was unique. She had never smelled it before.
Far from the Lord of Animals she was expecting, the man was human-shaped, and emitted an aura of sadness, which made Mirja want to hug him, but a random hug from a well dressed wolf girl in the middle of a forest would probably scare him, so she walked up to him instead, tail swishing behind her as the music continued.
"Forest is a great place for pipes and flutes, but wouldn't you prefer some sort of audience to listen? It's pretty good" She exclaimed, a large grin on her face, which showed of a pair of teeth that could easily be considered fangs.

Henrex Astillon The Broken Raven Descend Into Darkness Waga tamashī wa kinkō o motomeru. Now...that was more like it. A larger sense of calm began to occupy the heart of the male, pushing the sadness out of his mind and heart. While he had mainly came out here to practice on his flute, it wasn't always bad to have something else to do, now was it? However, it seemed that someone had enjoyed his music. For he heard footsteps that were approaching him. However, he believed, at first, to just be a passerby in the forest. He thought that they most likely wouldn't come by him, and just listen as they went by. So, hearing someone shout out at him from behind him was something that he wasn't expecting. It wasn't really the voice that gave him the shock. Rather, it was the fact that it was Mirja Eeola. The last time he had seen her, it was in the events of the Vastime. As of then, she had hated him. Despised him. That had hurt him. But what pained him even more was that she was there, about five to six feet away, and with a large grin on her face. The adorable wolf girl was incredibly well dressed, with a Chinese garment on. The design was amazing. However, his mind soon brought him back to reality. Fear gripped his heart, and as he stood up, he stumbled. Slipping on the vibrating barrier underneath him, he lost in focus, and he fell. Landing in the lake with a splash, Henrex quickly submerged beneath the surface, before launching himself back up again. His eyes stared at the wolf girl, before registering what she had said. She...liked the music? He had thought of himself as decent, with much needed practice and skill to build. So, the little compliment caused the black haired ninja to blush slightly, before his mind and heart was gripped with fear once again. His arms quickly shot in front of him, and his head turned to the left. "M-Mirja?! I'm sorry! I know I screwed up!" Closing his eyes and turning his head farther, Henrex awaited the hit from Mirja. He knew that he had screwed up the most with her. There was a lot of things that he did that he regretted immensely. If he could, he wished he could take it back and start over again. But, alas, he knew that once events happened, they were burned into the timeline, unable to be changed. However, he couldn't help but peek at the wolf girl, even when he was cowering for fear that Mirja had found him simply to hit him and knock him around. Would the relationship between the wolf girl and Henrex ever repair? |

Mirja, The Mad Wolf
The flute man was standing in the middle of the river, lake, ocean, stream, thing. And then he saw her and fell off his platform, landing with a splash in the riverbed, which made Mirja giggle. He was clearly struck dumb by her beauty, but Mirja was no evil wolf, so she slowly stripped out of her dress - it was a little hard to take off, but she managed it - and hung it on a nearby branch. It was then that her lack of shoes became evident, as well as the fact that her body was a canvas of scar tissues at this point.
Some were old and barely noticeable, but a significant collection of them were fresh and new, not yet fully healed into scars yet. The most overt one was a massive, three-clawed gash around her gut, which had gouged out a large piece of her gut, and made a hell of a mess. A strange mark just below that, was one of a Scythe with words clearly not earthen in origin. The lack of dress also highlighted her dainty choker, or collar, depending on how one looked at it. After getting naked, Mirja splashed into the river, lake, ocean, stream, thing and loomed over Henrex for a few seconds, before using her considerable might to pick him up like a doll, and plant him on his feet.
"BWUHAHAHAHA!" she suddenly laughed, her lungs as mighty as the rest of her body, and projecting a very loud voice that sounded a little like a wolfish bark. "It seems my reputation proceeds me! You do well to show deference to The Snow Throwing Wolf! But worry not, for Mirja is a generous wolf, and you need not fear her so long as you provide the right offering for her. If you do not provide the right offering, then...well, there is no snow around here. Norway has the climate for snow, snow for days. But nothing here. But elephants never forget! I'm a wolf, but it's the same concept! I will remember the lack of offering until one day when you are in a Tundra, and then snow will pelt you from all sides!" Mirja exclaimed, loud and brash, and a distinct shortage of sanity. It was amusing that she claimed she would not forget, seeing as how it was clear she had totally forgot the earlier encounter with Henrex.

THE ONE TRUE PATH
HENREX ASTILLON
The only thing that Henrex could really think of at that point was the feeling of the water and the foam of the water around him. Cool, and gentle. The foam gently brushed past his face, and his eyes remained closed under the water, almost hypnotized by the feel of the water. However, he was soon yanked from the water, rather abruptly. As her surfaced, Henrex went to take in a breath, but all air left him as his eyes set themselves of what was in front of him. Mirja was entirely naked. Not a single bit of clothing on her. The boy's face turned as red as a cherry, and his nose leaked a small amount of blood. His voice produced nothing. He had nothing to say.
His mind, however, produced multiple things. The first thing was that he thought that she was going to kill him for looking at her while she was naked. The second thing was that he thought he was going to die before she had the chance to kill him. The third thing? Well, that's where it all stopped. He couldn't think of anything else. His hands immediately went to his eyes, preventing him from looking at her nude form. It was strange, wasn't it? Most males with a mind of his would kill for a sight like that. However, Henrex did not have a dirty mind. He was decent. He wasn't going to look at her like this. Even if it was the person he loved, he wasn't entirely perverted.
However, his mind soon got the better of him as his mind questioned him about the many things that he had seen before he covered his eyes. Ever so slowly uncovering his left eye slightly, which soon widened as he looked at the ancient wounds on her body. Scars of different sizes plagued her body. Whether they be from swords, axes, spears, claws, there was one of them for that. Henrex's hand soon covered his eye again, his blush fading, only for a moment, before returning. Swallowing nervously, Henrex went to say something, but Mirja spoke before he had the chance. The first thing that went through his head? Confusion.
Does she...not remember me?
Blinking twice under his hand, Henrex soon heard that she was looking for some sort of "offering". Slowly reaching into his shinobi shozoku, Henrex slowly pulled out a medium sized chocolate bar. While his clothing was mildly loose, it had not a single drop of water on it, so Mirja had nothing to worry about the chocolate bar being wet. So, blindly handing the chocolate bar out to her, Henrex continued to shield his eyes from the sight that would probably make him die of blood loss before anything else.
"H-Here y-you go...."
As he continued to ponder on why she wasn't trying to kill him, and being strangely joking and kind with him, his mind soon gave him an idea. If she didn't remember him, then perhaps he could try again with her? However, he knew that he had to wait for the right time to speak about the feelings he had for the wolf girl. So, he began thinking. Where to start? How to start? Or, more importantly, with Mirja...what to say?

Mirja, The Mad Wolf
Snort. Mirja snorted. And it was not elegant. But she couldn't help it, this guy made her want to snort, need to snort. And the snort became full blown laughter as he continued to shy away from her glorious glory. Still, she was a generous Wolf, so she would make sure that the man was not feeling to distraught after his embarrassing show not looking at her. She had stripped so it was fine to look, in her eyes at least.
"Fear not Flute Man! My skin reflects the very Tundras of my home. It is mighty, and pristine, and pure white. It can be loving and friendly, or it can murder you in one of the slowest most painful ways to die, depending on how you respect it" She told him, before beaming another fangy grin.
Eventually he either got his fill or found his nerve, since he reached into his outfit and pulled out some chocolate. Mirja's beautiful silver eyes lit up with glee, and she took the snack happily from Henrex.
"Thank you, Flute Man! Your offering pleases the Snow-Throwing Wolf. Safe passage is assured, if you ever cross a Tundra. From me, at least. You still have Hollows, The Snow, Yetis, and random Polar Bears to worry about" she told him, walking over to the shore and putting the bar with her dress before moving to an area still in sight of the river, but a fair bit away from the her clothes. Then her body twisted, and she launched into a magnificently rapid spin, her body a blur, and water flying from her as deadly as any metallic projectile. The spin gave insight to those would could see, showing that while she was eccentric, and difficult to understand, Mirja was still extremely talented in the art of the Body.
The woods came alive with the sound of the water cracking against thick oak logs, and Mirja smiled warmly, enjoying it for a few moments, before getting her dress, and putting it back on. Then, she opened the chocolate, and started eating.
"So, The Snow Throwing Wolf! Would ask why you are in the middle of a lake playing your flute, but she has seen your cute shyness when it comes to the nubile form of women of battle. So you probably have a lot of issues surrounding your self image" Mirja said, biting of a chunk of the chocolate, and eating it.

Henrex Astillon The Broken Raven Descend Into Darkness | Artist: Toby Fox | Song: Undertale | Word Count: 895 | Henrex...was not sure what to do. He was standing there. On the water. With his eyes covered. In front of a girl. Whom he liked. A lot. Was currently naked. Standing directly in front of him. Very awkward situation, no? Henrex wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Granted, every ounce of his hormone-filled brain was telling him to let his hand drop, but he wasn't listening. His composure was more important to him than eye candy. So, with that said, Henrex simply held the chocolate bar out to her for what seemed like an eternity. Perhaps if she took the chocolate bar, she would put her damn clothes on! As his ears perked up from the sudden sound of Mirja snorting, then again, before bursting into full-blown laughter, Henrex didn't really know what to think. The naive boy simply faltered in the slightest by lowering his arm that held the chocolate bar. Hearing her say that there was nothing to fear, and comparing her skin to the tundra wasn't helping much either. However, he soon felt the chocolate be snatched from his hands, and the arm soon fell back to his side. A thanks was given to the Raven, as well as a very strangely detailed explanation of how he would be protected from snow-pelting by her. Then, he heard sounds. Sounds of retreating movement. So, Henrex grew curious. Slowly moving his middle finger down so that he would be able to see Mirja, but not the rest of her, Henrex saw that she was still in the lake, but still a way's away from her clothing. Henrex went to cover his eyes again, but then, Mirja did something that was...odd. Twisting her body, Mirja spun around, causing the water to lift and fly through the air, with the speed of the droplets of water zipping past him, one even hitting the back of his wrist, cutting open the black and purple ninja garment, and causing a small amount of blood to trail down his wrist, but that wasn't much of a problem. His demon energy soon detected the wound, before focusing a large amount of energy into that area, accelerating the process at which the body healed. In mere moments, the cut was gone, not even a scar remained. Henrex had barely noticed anything that had happened with his own body as he stared at the face of Mirja when she had performed such an interesting, but yet elegant act. The male could have swore his Hybrid heart stopped for those mere moments in time. His eyes widened as he continued to stare at Mirja, unable to take his eyes off her. He knew that he had to be careful this time. He didn't want to lose her again. The aura of sadness that came from his soul and his Zanpakutō flowed from his essence for only a mere moment, before his ears registered Mirja's voice, and his happiness slowly returned. Removing his hand from his eyes, he could now see that the wolf girl was fully clothed again, and was tucking into the candy bar that he had given her. She shouted out at him, asking him why he was out there, playing his shakuhachi, with seemingly no audience, as well as wondering about his shyness and his self-image. To answer...well, Henrex would walk towards her. As his body moved forward, sending a gentle ripple outwards with each step he took, the young ninja would make his way towards the shore of the lake, with his bamboo flute in hand. Eventually, he reached where Mirja was, still eating the chocolate bar, and Henrex would then do something he never really had done in front of other people before. As the rippled steps of the male gently touched the shore, Henrex's body would begin to emit a purple smoke, which would come to engulf his entire body. As this smoke wrapped and drifted around his body, inside the purple mist, Henrex's body would begin to change it's form. Around a minute or so would pass, and the mist would finally dissipate. What had happened? Well, Henrex had reverted from his Shifter Form, named "The One True Path", referencing his true calling as a ninja...back to his true appearance. [Refer to image for an explanation on how Henrex looks currently within his True Appearance] The male, now no longer hiding behind the various "masks" he wore that were his Shifter Appearances. Instead, he hid behind the scarf that would hide his scars and burns. As the smoke faded away, Henrex slowly walked up to Mirja, before sitting down next to her, reaching into his clothing to pull out another chocolate bar. Unwrapping the candy slowly, Henrex pulled his scarf away from his mouth, before sinking his teeth into the chocolate and biting off a piece. Chewing slowly and silently, Henrex swallowed the piece quickly, before looking towards Mirja with his single, pitch black eye, and his face slowly turned red. "Y...You think...my shyness....is...cute?" It had only occurred to him then that she had said that. While he never remembered her saying anything like that previously, it was most certainly embarrassing. But yet...it almost felt...nice. To have one of his traits being called...cute. Bringing one of his gloved hands to his arm, he gently rubbed it, looking towards the water, his face gently tinged with the color of pink. Were things working out currently? |

Mirja, The Mad Wolf
Mirja finished off her chocolate and licked the small melted portions off her fingers, before glancing up at the Flute Man who seemed to come out of the lake river stream ocean water-world thing and up to her. She contemplated punching him in the snozzom - she had promised protection from snowballs, not protection from punching - but eventually decided against it. It would get her nowhere to punch him, aside from a touch of amusement, but then he would probably mewl angrily and Mama Wolf would had to put him down for the night. And he didn't look the least bit sleepy.
What he did look, was odd. He did some transforming thing that Arianda used to do on occasion when she wanted a bit more smexi time with ol' Mirja. So, this guy knew Arianda! Perfect logic, she thought. However, before she could voice her new and awesome idea, he came up to her, with one eye and a red face - probably too warm under all them scarves - and asked, if Mirja found his cuteness shy.
"Of course! Your weakness is endearing, Flute Man. I feel I should take you back to my pack, and have you around the house. You'd look good as a Maid. I've got one pup and another I constantly fight a She-Wolf to possess" she explained.
And then, without much rhyme or reason, she turned to skip into the woods, humming off key too herself before looking back to Henrex.
"Come, Flute Man! We must seek mushrooms for the dinner of tonightness, mushrooms are best plucked directly from the ground, so we do not purchase them from those who claim they have been plucked from the ground, for they lie. It's really sprouted with mushroom seeds, and mushroom seeds are Evil!" Mirja seemed to put a great deal of emphasis on the idea that mushroom seeds were evil. And then just continued skipping, expecting Henrex to follow.

Henrex Astillon The Broken Raven Descend Into Darkness Mirja was still the same as ever, random, energetic, and overall....still as cute as ever. His cheeks turned red from the sudden thought that had popped into his head, and his head turned to look away from the wolf girl, with his hand gripping his arm rather tight. It made him regret so much more as he continued to think. However, some people seem like they need to put their opinion in things, don't they? Hence why a large cluster of voices swamped his head, each one asking questions and voicing their opinion. Henrex didn't bother answering the mental conversations. He just ignored it. All it was doing right now was giving him a migraine. Sighing and shaking his head slightly, Henrex resumed taking bite after bite of chocolate, chewing with his mouth shut, and soon finished the small treat. While it wasn't as filling as the feeding process that a demon used, which fed on raw emotion that would fill them and cure them of the detrimental effects, which could vary and differ from Demon to Demon. However, fortunately, his demon blood didn't affect his taste buds in the sense that he couldn't eat certain foods or anything, thankfully. Crumpling the wrapper of his treat, then tucking it in his pocket, Henrex soon leaned his head back, looking towards the sky with his eye, before they narrowed, then closed entirely. However, there was something that would cause his eyes to shoot open, and his entire face to turn the color of red. What would that have been? Well, it was the comment that Mirja had made. Not about his shyness being somewhat of a weakness, but that she thought about bringing him back to her house and making him....a maid. She even said that he would look good as a maid! So, blushing profusely, Henrex reached towards his scarf, hiding his embarrassment and quickly thinking of something to say in response to that, but he could think of none. So, he simply attempted to cover his face entirely with his scarf. But then, he mumbled something other his breath that only caused him to go an even darker shade with his red face. ...So would you...Mirja... Then, Henrex heard something. The sound of movement, away from him. So, Henrex took the scarf off his eye and rose, turning his head in where Mirja had headed, hearing her shout out about gathering things for tonight's dinner. While he wasn't entirely fond of mushrooms, he wasn't picky. So, walking after the mildly insane wolf girl, Henrex slowly let the scarf on his face drop to his neck. He watched her skip along happily, and Henrex smiled softly. It warmed his heart to see her like this. Slowly raising one of his hands and holding it over his chest, his mismatched eyes gazed onward. As the two moved throughout Karakura Forest, Henrex's mind was elsewhere. Currently? It was on the fact that Mirja had forgotten him entirely. So, the main question...what about Iko? The other wolf girl that had put a hole in his stomach, which still held a giant scar over his stomach and belly button. It didn't hurt anymore, but there was still that little but of phantom pain that would come...as a permanent reminder. Swallowing nervously, Henrex was nervous to do anything to Mirja, even so much as touch her without Iko going berserk and possibly killing him this time. As he continued to trail behind Mirja, that was one thing of many that was plaguing his mind. |

Mirja, The Mad Wolf
Mirja stared ominously at Henrex, her silver eyes boring deeply into his single black one. She even made a 'chuuuuuuuuu' sound as she stared, because she thought it sounded better than just staring. Eventually, after a while of this, she walked up to Henrex, and poked him softly on the chest.
"Where is the volume button? Or at least subtitles. I feel you are speaking a lot but it is all muffled behind those scarves and your womanly vocal cords so I can't hear what you are saying. And that is a thing, these ears aren't just for show, as I have found out when Ceal decided nibbling on them was fun"
Mirja continued to prod Henrex for a bit, before shrugging and turning around to go off again.
"Ahh, well. I guess I will just have to make do. Maybe I should speak Norwegian. Or German. Or French. You don't respond better to those, do you? I mean, if you are an entirely different nationality and I am just spewing words that you don't even understand at you then I could understand the lack of talking you are portraying right now but you need to give me something back before I can start talking to you right" She blathered, wandering through the forests in search of dinner without so much as a pause for a breath in her monologue.
Then, she stopped, and held out her hand to stop Henrex as well, staring at a patch of mushrooms, silent for a few moments, and then. She exploded.
"Mushroom seeds! Why are they defacing the forest here?! Who Dares plant them in my forest! It might not be mine yet but it is mine no so suck it up whoever owned this before" she shrieked, the last bit coming out a lot softer than the rest, but that was Mirja, for you.
