Re: We all deserve a night off!

The next thing he knew he was on the ground, the girl hitting him with a tackle hug at such high speeds he felt his ribs crack. He winced at the pain but accepted it because he had managed to make the girl happy and that's all he wanted to do, nothing less, nothing more. He had come to this festival in the hopes of forgetting his duties for a night and relaxing but instead he had found a lost soul and made her his second in command. She was going to be his partner every day and in time she could very well pass Landen in rank as Carter's best friend but he knew the guy wouldn't care. He was tough as nails and lived to fight, hell living to fight was an understatement.
Carter, while being on his back in the snow, briefly thought of his training with Landen, how badly it had gone for both of them and how much Carter had had his shit kicked in by the man. With a shiver he lifted his head just in time for the girl to kiss his nose lightly and make him blush again, not once but twice in one night a woman had kissed him, had shown him a sign of affection and he didn't know how to take it so he found himself staring at her with his face flushed red.
He hadn't paid much attention before to her halo but now it was right in his face so all he could do was notice the swirling ring of light energy. It was hypnotic and it held his gaze making him unaware of the people walking by and looking at the two, most assuming they were just a young excited couple. He was already day dreaming about what they could get done as a team, already he was feeling the energy pumping through him that would end up carrying him through the horde of paper work long over due on his sagging desk back at the office.
No one ever considered how much paper work went into being a captain and it already was biting him in the ass but he'd do it. So far he had a group of lazy ass's and a powerful vizard that rightfully should be his boss but for whatever reason the girl was content on taking Carter's orders. Just don't get on her bad side. He thought to himself, a smile coming to his face as he wrapped his arms around the girl in the snow and looked up into the black sky, still dropping the white flakes of heaven. The night had been good to him and he felt truly blessed.

“..ah.. you okay?”
Animum had said softly before she looked up at him, her chin resting softly against the man’s shirt. a slightly amused expression crossing her face, an arched brow accompanying it to give him one seriously bemused glance. Fidgiting abit as she had been hugged back, cuddling further into him as if she wouldn’t rather be anywhere else, which for the most part was the truth seeing as this was the best evening she had honestly ever had, and for awhile? She’d just lay there listening to his heartbeat after her head had tilted sideways resting her cheek against his chest in a comfortable manner, understanding that carter being in the snow might have been a tad uncomfortable if the snow had accidentally seeped into his clothes, but she just didn’t quite care enough to move and ruin the wondrous moment she was having.
”..Mn..”
The Advent of despair had let out a soft humming sound from deep within her throat, the sound fleeting and brief as she opened her eyes and glanced around them, noticing for the first time they had attracted quite an audience, much to her embarrassment, and yet, she still didn’t move as her face turned a crimson shade of red. Her soft golden eyes shifting to glance up at him a tad bit, wide and luminous as she didn’t quite know whether not she wanted to shift and get off him, or enjoy the moment a little bit longer. If anything there was an internal battle going on within her, one that finished with her deciding to settle somewhere slightly to the left of the middle, electing to still relax on top of him, while she said in a soft tone.
”..They are staring aren’t they?”
Her words probably explained the obvious, and she recognised such the second they had left her mouth, however she honestly didn’t mind at the moment. Instead she had let out a soft and not so silent giggle, her body rolling so she rested her back up against him, her eyes glancing skywards as she reflected on just how crazy a day it had been, first meeting this stranger a 1 in many billions of a chance meeting. Then she had gotten to know them and finally? she had been given a home, and the night was still young, she didn’t know if she could comprehend it if anymore good happened to her, and to be frank? she was content just the way she was, in this moment, with this person, her body relaxing back into him while she said in a joking tone.
”..So.. about that paperwork?”
She’d look up, allowing her right hand to slide up, her index finger poking carter on the nose booping it slightly while she continued to look at him a slightly shark-toothed smile moving onto her face as she raised her eyebrows in a manner that was full of mock-seriousness, which was only enforced by how her eyes widened fractionally as she made sure to enunciate every word, so that they had been clear, crisp and to the point, making sure to leave out absolutely nothing that she had in her mind at that very moment.
[b]”..We are going to burn it all right?”
With that out of the way? Animum had lightly nuzzled her head against the underside of his chin for a moment, and then with a exasperated huff that made it seem like what she was about to do was the hardest thing on planet earth. She’d get up and clap her hands at the stragglers who hadn’t the decency to keep their eyes off the affectionate exchange, her eyes rolling and her head cocked to the side in an expressive manner, and she would say in a voice that brooked no argument but still had a touch of humor to it.
”Okay folks show's over~ You can pay the ramen joint down the street if you were entertained~!”
Turning around animum had bent down and offered carter a hand so that he could use it to get up if he wanted and she’d say with a shadow of a smile on her face..
”..The night is still very much young.. what are we going to do next?”
