Re: Survive the Woods [Open]

As he lay there, an epic battle brewing just yards away from him, Katsuo Shugoshin began to drift off into unconsciousness. The powers and varying pressures being put on display was too much for the powerless human to overcome and it was suffocating him quite evidently. Katsuo gasped, trying to pull in air from his injured jaw to his lungs, and it was a failing effort as it felt like the air itself was as thick as maple syrup. He struggled, groaning, and fighting against what was more than likely an inevitable death and as he did so he began to crawl out of his personal grave to inch closer to the battle. It was his fault. All of this was on him, every last punch that was being thrown, every destroyed tree, and every woodland animal that had been displaced because of this rumble. It was all on him and as Katsuo tried to inch his way closer to the battle a burst of wind sent him tumbling back from another cero explosion. Katsuo fell back hard and hit his head on a rock, gashing a spot near his right eye, and sending agonizing waves of pain through out his already beaten body.
"I can't...do anything.", Katsuo murmured to himself as he felt the inside of his mouth with his tongue, the taste of blood, and a few shards of broken teeth meeting him as he did so. Why couldn't he do anything? Why did it always come down to this? Why couldn't he do anything right? He had come back to make this alright and had tried his best to stand toe to toe with a monster like Sou, but all he had gotten was a fist to the face and a broken body in return. Katsuo lay there, face first in the ground, blood trickling down from above his right eye and blurring his vision with stinging pain. This was the reminder of his weakness, the reminder of where he belonged, and where he would never be. He would never be as strong as Sou, he was a monster pure and simple, and if he couldn't be as strong as Sou that meant that no matter how good he became...there would always be someone out there who could stop him from defending those he cared for. He crumpled his fists up in acknowledgement of his shortcomings and then rolled on to his back. He lay there, staring up into the dense foliage of the forest canopy, and as his eyelids felt heavy, he almost fell into unconsciousness as well.
His breathing became heavier and more taxing as he tried to fight the oncoming feeling of nothingness. Finally, Katsuo gave in, and his eyes closed, but his unconscious mind would not allow him to just sleep this one off. Instead, horrible reminders of the night his parents died filtered through his mind, causing him great stress, and pushing his psyche to a whole new level of despair. He had watched them die, he had done nothing, and as his father told him to look after his sister, the figure had snapped his neck like a twig. And then as quickly as it had all happened it was done and Katsuo was left alone to watch over his younger sister. He had never cared that it had forced him to grow up quicker than he was suppose to, he had never really had much of a childhood with all of the training he had gone through in the first place, so he didn't really mind it. However, he had minded all of the priests who had lived and the families of those that had died on that night always staring at him. Always watching him disapprovingly and diverting their eyes whenever he would look their way. It was then that he made a decision to leave the temple with his sister and travel away from that place, so that he could protect his sister from the fall out.
The painful memory of leaving the temple floated to the top of his unconscious mind as he remembered the pain of being beaten up by a group of older kids who blamed him for everything that had happened. Were they really wrong though? They had beaten him up so badly that when he had come home that night to his sister, she had cried, and begged him to not go back to school. But he had smiled and put her fears to rest, he had told her that he had to go back to school because of the importance of education, and the need to be better than he already was. In truth, all he was doing was putting on a brave face for his little sister so that she wouldn't be worried about him. It had worked and as he had gone up stairs to his own room, he remembered collapsing on his bed, and just crying. He let it all go that night and after that, he tried his best to make amends for all of his failures. But what was he doing right now? How would he make amends for all of this if he was sleeping on the job?
Katsuo's eyes fluttered open and he groaned in agony as he sat himself up by pure force of will alone. As he did so he spat out a bit of blood on to the floor next to him and then with a second wind, brought himself back up to his feet as quickly as he could. He staggered, taking his first steps out of his grave, and made his way toward the downed tree he had been told about by the bald man. As he staggered, the cross around his neck began to crack, and as it did so Katsuo began to see green orbs floating around him. He thought he was seeing things and didn't pay them any mind at all. It was true he couldn't fight Sou and that he was just a nobody, but there was one thing he could do right now. He could save the girl who had chased after him as he had recklessly charged in with no plan at all. He began to hear feint whispers around him, but once again he ignored them. He didn't notice as green runes began to appear all over his body, each rune glowing brightly in the dark night, or that his cross had completely shattered into nothingness. No, all Katsuo felt was a need to help the girl who was stuck under the tree. Katsuo's body felt different as he finally reached the tree.
It felt lighter and more importantly the pain that he had been feeling earlier had simply faded away. He found it to be odd that it had just gone away like that, but he chalked it up to adrenaline, and pushed it aside for now. At that moment in time the only thing that mattered was the girl that was under the tree. And for a few moments Katsuo stood there, wondering what exactly he could do to pry the tree up to get her out from underneath it. She would surely die if the battle got even more intense as she had no way to get out from underneath her tree prison. Katsuo barely noticed how easy it was to breathe now as he went over to the tree and put his hands underneath it. "No time for a plan, got to get her out!", Katsuo yelled at the top of his lungs as he took a deep breath and then with a weird burst of strength lifted the tree and threw it aside like it was nothing more than an empty box. Katsuo's eyes went wide with surprise as he did this and he staggered back, thrown off by the burst of strength, and with a confused glance he looked at himself. "What the...", Katsuo said as he saw glowing runes greet him and stood there for a second looking at just how many runes he had on his body. He was, however, interuppted by the sight of the girl laying there where the tree had once been. Something inside of him told him he could help her.
"No time for questions.", Katsuo mumbled as he walked over to the girl and knelt down next to her. For a few moments he did nothing but stare at her, trying to evaluate the situation and see how badly she was hurt. If a tree had fell on her, there was the possibility of broken bones and internal hemorrhaging and quite frankly if she was bleeding internally he doubted there was much he could do. But he had to try! This was all his damn fault....no this wasn't his fault. Katsuo's eyes went wide in rage, this was the fault of some nightmare who had been going ham in the woods with little to no care about anything else but his damn self. Katsuo cursed himself for rushing back and putting this girl into this situation. He put his hand on her forehead, brushing a lock of hair out of her face, and then felt for a pulse. It was there, but weak. "Don't die on me...please...I can't lose anyone else.", Katsuo said as he ground his now fully repaired teeth. He had very little time to get her out of the forest and to the hospital which he had been told about earlier. He needed to get her to that hospital, her life depended on it. So, without a second thought, Katsuo scooped up the girl in her arms. She was small and light to Katsuo, who effortlessly picked her up, and then turned in the direction of where the hospital was. He looked down on the unconscious girl in his arms and then spoke: "If you make it out of this alive, I vow I will never put you in a situation like this again, and that I will make it up to you somehow."
Katsuo looked off into the distance and then focused all that he was on getting the girl out of the woods.

Oh my, oh my, it seems that he was greatly underestimated as a human, not because of his ability, that his 'pride' was underestimated. It was true that he would take on attacks wihout a second thought but it doesn't mean that these actions are an absolute to do as well, rather than to 'take it', he has his own way of dealing with attacks that has the capability to cut through barriers, right through solid objects and so, but here comes a theory that come into his mind before Eien made her move of using sonido and making an attempt to pierce his shoulder. It is true that it can cut through protective barriers like the electromagnetic field that he made, or solid objects that can ever stop it when it focuses on one target, but the possibility is not a complete 0%. No luck was involved in this, and it all depends in every step, every breath and every thought he can process in his head, writing an equation of this ability in his mind and calculating the approaching blade.
However, since it is a 'barrier breaker' ability, what happens if it is a natural influence that is neither a defense nor a solid object just like his limbs, that was a theory he came up with to counter her barrier breaking ability. Indeed that it is near-impossible for something is powerful as this to cut down barriers, it doesn't mean that it is a zero percent chance to do so. In the center of his body, what he did was to compress the energy in the center, forcing it to be pushed down smaller and smaller, as the natural energy was unable to contain the lack of space to compress any furthermore, when using the physics of his own, it would make the compressed natural energy to 'explode' but not into flames, but a form of vibration in its state of waves, not particles. Wihout any solid matter for it to cut through it as a solid object, then that would be omitted for barrier breaker's capability as the first target since the vibration he creates is going to be in a form of sonic waves, and the second capability that the barrier breaker's ability that is omitted by the fact that the vibration is not a 'protective barrier', with no spiritual energy or is it ever considered as an 'outside influence', more of an 'inner influence' since the explosive force of the vibration is more an 'explosive force' than an influence itself, and since there is no 'energy' inside of these expanding waves of vibration, it became clear that the barrier breaker ability has no other way to get through the so-called 'defense' he put up, that it erases categories that her barrier breaking ability can cut through in terms of defense which boosts one's defensive capabilities.
When the tip of her blade was about to pierce his shoulder, it stopped when it got an inch to him, even with her barrier breaking ability activated against him, it seems as if he has a 'sturdy' defense around him, but in a fact of defying physics and creating his own law that it isn't by erasing any possibilities and categories that the ability itself assumes so, which means her barrier breaker ability is not a 100% ability that can cut through ALL types of defenses, especially the ones that are artificially made defenses that the Nightmare created through his own rules and laws, hence why he stated to himself that there was no more an underestimation around him, no more cockiness, just purely, the exact same force to defeat his enemies and using proper calculation, nothing else than those two facts in hauling the corpses. Though, she may be wondering why the 'defense' or if she call it a 'barrier', it will be to Eien's understanding, but in order to keep his 'barrier' up, he has to erase the categories that the ability may think it is a barrier, a solid object, anything that it can cut through when someone puts up a defensive barrier against her slashes, but since he altered the 'rules' of the vibration via using the vibrating waves by shaking the air particles around it, it produces sound by the particles in an atomic level, and these millions of collisions between these particles made it vibrate so powerful that these particles would explode in an explosive energy that unleashes a waves of vibrations, with particles scattering all of it, it is not an 'outside influence' or 'outside force', but rather, to disobey what physics can do, and that is how he attempted to see if this method works or not.
However, there was no time for Eien to retreat and give a rest, before she could execute her attack in kneeing him right against his guts, she would realise that wihout the barrier breaker that is used for her physical attacks, and if she cannot match her impact force against his electromagnetic field, not to mention trying to send an individual like him into the air with a force to keep him up to 3 feet tall was nothing but an attempt to try to be a tough girl and bypass his defenses. The moment her knee crashed right into his electromagnetic field, there was a visible flash throughout the entire field itself, before exploding out with a clean cut into removing her leg only by redirecting the force right back at her and re-adjust the kinetic energy that is sent back to Eien, enough to clean slice right through her leg wihout affecting her entire physical structure for her to collapse into. With her regenerative ability seen by his eyes, his photographic memory simply collect these datas in order to deal with blasting away her body into the world of pain wihout a word out of his lips.

"Fly."
His words was straightfoward and cold, as it seems that he was unexpectedly angry, it was time to put an end to everything and make sure that Eien can never stand again when she witness what she is about step into, what he called, the realm of a monster, the embodiment of darkness that will unleash upon the battlefield. His right fist gripping even tighter, to a point where blood began to drop from the palm of his hand, and in a sudden? The level of pressure simply spiked, as if it seemed the pressure around him dramatically increased to a level where the trees would crumble into dusts, from pebbles to large-sized boulders that is about the size of an average male would rise above the earth beneath them, and any nearby liquid would simply evaporate, not in the case of Eien where she would suffer a case of asphyxiation because the imbalance between the presence of liquid to her physical structure and the pressure around it, and even if she was able to adjust to it, it would only increase further and furthermore, until it stops to a level where his body begin to split open countless amount of wounds, and this was exactly 50% of his strength, including the physical boost given from the International Electronic Brace Network, in this level of course, even at 50%, it was absolutely terrifying even from a distance, in case where Katsuo ran from the battlefield, he would feel an absurbly amount of fear striking his soul even if he placed up so much determination in his soul, if it seems that there is an outside force that was terrifying enough to strike fear even to the bravest warriors that is available out there, this was one of the rarest moments that Sou went through this point, since it was appropriate enough to say that Eien should be wiped out of existence, so it shall be.
Hopefully striking her with his right fist with a terrifying force, it held an enough power that turn half of the entire Karakura Forest into nothing but collapsing trees and a wasteland, with some of the earth would burst upwards and form a wall as tall as 5 feet tall, depending on the circumstances, Sou attempted to minimize the damage against his mortal body by utilising the air pressure around him, hopefully during the expansion of the energy that exploded upon his very knuckles of his fist against Eien, it would form a protective wall of air across his body using the terms of 'particle attraction', where he produces charges across his body using friction, charged particles of the air would gather against skin and form a wall of protective layer using charged particles, protecting him from taking a full damage from the explosive force incoming from his bare fist, having the power to remove half of the entire portion of the forest, it was a spectacular sight to see how much power his strength can unleash, that if Eien would attempt to use her sword to block it, she could realise the entire structure of the sword would break apart, that the force of his fist contains more than being able to overpower a Cero Oscuras alone, that such force comes in a cost to his entire body being inflicted by countless amount of damage and wounds, ranging from scratches to wounds that can cover his entire back with a cross shape, if in the case of the arrancar using the sword that she called it 'tough', it would be the biggest mistake done in every possible decisions she can take.
The entire structure of the sword would explode from the 'inside', since Sou hit the sword once and tried snapping it into half externally, it doesn't seem to flinch the structure of the sword at all, and what comes into a mind with a theory that it will be done from the inside and disrupting the solid matter that holds the sword together into a solid shape. The moment his fist impacts right against the likes of the sword, the first process he is going through was to apply a certain frequency that allows the atoms of the sword to open a gap between each solid atoms wihout affecting its physical form and being able to maintain its structure as a sword, but what now comes into the play was the 'core' of the sword, since Eien was displayed as the wielder of the very sword itself and the blade built under the manifestation of many souls, it doesn't mean that it does not have any core that supplies power to the very blade, not to mention if it doesn't have a core that supplies the entirety of her abilities like barrier breaker, he doubted that she could use abilities with the sword at all, in very similiar cases with Zanpakutō spirits where if shinigamis do not communicate with his or her Zanpakutō spirit and learn its name, there is no chance that they can use abilities wihout getting the energy coming from the 'core' of their very sword.
By injecting an instant electrical energy, it would only flash within a second before the source of energy that the electricity that was produced would all but dissapear out of sight at first, and that was done to produce negative attractions against each and every atom has in the very sword, causing a repelling effect just like a magnet with the same charge to repel each other, and that was used in order to completely disarray the entire structure of the sword, and since it is under its temporary atomic state since if he theorizes this, Eien may be able to reconstruct the sword again even if he disrupted the entire arrangements of the sword in order to completely destroy its physical shape, but that wasn't it. When the Nightmare disarranged the very sword, his fist would most likely smash right against the likes of Eien's face, though with taken precaution, his fist would not puncture right through her face, instead, stopping at the very single moment when his fist makes a direct contact with the surface of her skin, where because of the sudden stop in momentum and velocity, the pressure and the vibrating force of his fist would shoot off against Eien, using the same method of how he made her feel the exact feeling where as if someone hit her directly wihout affecting the liquid of her body, this time, imagine from hundreds to thousands and to million times much more of that very force, where it held so much force that half of the entire forest would blast to dusts, in Eien's cases, even with her liquified body, the damage to her energy links and physical structure would feel so much pain that no matter how much one is driven from the pleasure of pain, because of the damage inflicted to the structure of her body, it is most likely that she could not be able to move anymore with each and every part of her body being blasted by the force of his very strength.
He was indeed not as happy as one thinks, that the thought of the Nightmare being such a cold-blooded being, he would've cared less afterall. The root of these, was the past he went through. He despised himself, so much where he would rather become a villain than being a hero, that the reason why he turned into a monster himself was because of his inability to protect with his pair of bloodied hands, the one that killed many lives, his past was absolutely a tragic one and indeed rather dramatic in its own way, but in all ends, this was the path he chose himself, and because of his monstrous nature, people came into the thought of despising himself but who cares, because he is the Nightmare, and if it is about being the bad guy, then he will be one. Screeching through the entire forest with a scream at the top of his lungs, he blasted foward from his bare feet using his own strength, with his body that is bleeding rather intensively, he doubted that he could last much longer from here on, that there is only an hour or two before his device runs out of battery, and beforehand, he will catch up against Katsuo, and make sure to give him the pain when he was rejected by the society, his heart that had a feeling as if it was ripped out from his chest with a single hand, the absolute pain and the darkness that surrounds him, and with that, he will crush his hopes with so much agony that even for Katsuo, he needs more than just determination to get through the fear that surges through his soul.
Tracking down Katsuo's location by the runes that seemingly appeared out of nowhere, it was interesting how his abilities awakened from the sight of despair of the people around him, and his inability to become stronger, and those needs gave him the power to help, however, one really lacks inside of this young man was the ability to confront his enemies, no matter how weak they are, how powerless they are, if they turn their back and run, that is the weakness that he would exploit to every eye of the world, the fear that overcomes the determination, the darkness that overwhelms his very structure and break him from the inside.
[ CHANGE SOUNDTRACK ]
A rough landing before the eyes of the human and an injured female, the force of the landing caused an upward explosion, since he doesn't have the ability to fly nor to land smoothly, all he could was to utilise his strength and make it rough. Despite for someone like Katsuo to be quite new to his abilities, even using it has an interval or known as delay between using his ability to an actual manifestation of an energy or a manipulation of sorts, and with that theory settles, he would test it out on his newfound power to fight. Since the girl is in his arms, it would be hard to make a decision between dropping her or making use of his runes, that is something which the young man does not understand of yet, but rather to care, he approached the young human at a neck-breaking speed, that it take less than a second before his fist was already approaching to Katsuo's face and that? If any attempts to lighten the damage or to even redirect it right back at him, he made himself a rather useful 'going around' type of attack when he fought an opponent who specializes in these areas, where the moment of direct impact, when the damage is lighten, depending how he casts them away, he plants down an 'extra force' by blasting vibration across the air and landing an extra hit right against the very body of the young human, two in one, that the force of his punch would not be heavy nor light, that it was enough to squeeze his face deeper into his skull and force his nose to break, and if that made him drop the girl, Sou makes an attempt to stop against the earth beneath them, before creating a blast of wind that would blast the girl upwards into the air.
However, that is not the intent to kill. With given coordinates to the hospital, Sou was able to produce a wind strong enough to blast the female right back into the hospital of where he is current living in, accurately landing into one of the patient's rooms in her current injured state. With everything settled, his hands slid into his pocket, wihout the presence of the crutch anymore, which he threw it away since it would only be of a hindrance to his fight if it is used. His eyes staring cold at the likes of Katsuo, before words escaped from his lips in hopes for this man to start his attack first, to see how his abilities work so that he can utilise it in the future, that if it became stronger, all he needs was to re-work the equation and pinpoint its original, making the task much easier if they were to fought again, using the same power but much stronger.
"Look at your pathetic ass, shaking your ass right at me when you ran off with that girl, and thinking that you can stand up against the Nightmare, you are making the biggest mistake in this land. I don't care if you think i am a monster, a villain, a bad guy or some power hungry bastard who doesn't care about anyone but himself, the only thing that you have mistaken is how the world works around you. What do you understand about life? Do you have ever worn my shoes and see the cruelty of the society? No. You know nothing about true pain, where people reject you because you are 'different' than them, where they avoid you because you have strength that is not human-like, this is why i came into a conclusion of becoming a villain, that even if i am despised by the world, i will have no regrets, because there is no room.. for a monster like me who walked down into the blood-stainted path where i can only kill and cannot protect."
"If you think i am in the wrong, feel free to step into the realm of a monster and use your newfound power. I won't hold back on you, kid."
With a grin across his face, things are seemingly more interesting than usual, that he went through a hell of speech to tell him how cruel reality is, that his life was nothing more than a pain where he could not protect because of his strength, hated and despised by many, he would live by himself under the name of a villain. This was something that everyone will never understand the position he stands, and having everyone to view him as a monster, he stopped caring anymore, and wait how Katsuo acts. If he tries talking him with a sense, that wouldn't work since Sou would only make him fly across the country with his fist. Now then, a new guy, the arrancar and the nightmare. Let's see who will stand on the last crown of the seat with their powers. Even if he was not in a good condition right now when he unleashed such an extreme force against Eien, it doesn't mean that he cannot continue fighting anymore. Simply, this was just a beginning.
