Survive the Woods [Open]

Theme: Wild Arms OST 1. Into the Wilderness
The beautiful and majestic sound of the forest, the chirps, and hums of the wildlife filled his ears as he continued his trek. He was alone on this journey of self-discovery. It had been about a day since he had seen civilization of any form and so far, Katsuo Shugoshin, had managed to almost lose his life quite a few times. Namely to the local 'majestic' and 'harmless' wildlife that his master had told him would not harm him during this particular journey. "Yeah, right.", Katsuo said under his breath as he began to march up a small hill somewhere deep in the woods. The only reason he thought of it as "somewhere" instead of as a specific place was because at this specific time he couldn't help, but feel lost.
In fact, he couldn't help, but feel a sense of dread every time he scaled a hill, and saw nothing, but thick foliage as far as the eye could see. He didn't want to admit to himself that he may be royally screwed, even if it seemed that way. And at that point, after scaling this hill, and being greeted with the all too familiar sight of trees to the horizon, Katsuo fell to his knees. It wasn't like he was tired, far from it. Ever since he had began his training with Yuu, his stamina had been steadily increasing, but feeling the sense of impending doom coming from never getting out of these woods, Katsuo was beginning to reach his wit's end.
"'Go to the woods', she said... it'll be good training she said. So far, I haven't learned a damn thing other than there are way too many things out here looking to eat me!", Katsuo exclaimed loudly as he looked out over the vastness of the woods that he had been dumped in. No, he wasn't dumped, more like he was shot into the woods with a handy-dandy catapult, and woke up to almost getting eaten by a bear. Katsuo made a note to himself, that if he ever made his way back home that he would work harder on his survival skills, and that he would try his best to get stronger so that if this shit ever happened again that he would just breeze through it. "That's a strong if, though...I haven't been able to find a definitive way out of these woods, and back home yet.", Katsuo said to himself as he stood back up, dusting his pants legs as he did so.
He wondered what exactly he was suppose to learn by being stranded in the woods by himself, but then again Hanako had warned him about the type of training that her sensei put people through. He didn't regret it though, which was odd because of the current situation he had been placed in, but he knew that it was the quickest way to get stronger as well. To take on a powerful mentor who could guide him in the ways of combat and help him awaken his potential. Yet, it still begged the question as to what the hell something like this could possibly do for him? He was nearly starving and had yet to find anything to call a "safe" place to sleep. Also, he was running low on water, and he would hate to have to go back to the stream he had passed hours ago just to refill his little canteen.
"All of this speculation won't matter if I stand around here and die. I just...just gotta keep going until some sign of civilization catches my eye.", Katsuo remarked, wiping the sweat from his brow, and then taking a deep breath before taking his first few steps down the hill side. He made sure to go slow as to not twist his ankle while going down hill, because a twisted ankle out in the middle of the wilderness would only spell disaster for a powerless human like himself. "Hell, maybe somebody who could help me is around here. I doubt it, but I have to remain optimistic!", Katsuo said to himself, trying to pip himself up even if it was just a pipe dream.

Theme: Click Clock Wood (Spring)
The forest at night was not quiet and for an eighteen year old without a single weapon available to him, or hell even a flash light, everything that went bump in the night sounded like a potential threat. So, Katsuo wandered around in the dark, reaching around, and trying to feel out his surroundings as he couldn't see a damn thing. "Yuki is probably worried sick about by now.", Katsuo said with a tone of disappointment. His stomach also voiced its hatred for the situation by letting out a low growl, Katsuo groaned, and kept walking forward into the dark unknown. He missed his home, hell he missed food, and above all else he missed the comfort of a nice warm bed. Just thinking about his bed made him realize that soon he would have to rest in order to renew his own energy. The mere thought of sleeping out in the woods surrounded by things he could not see was not very appealing for him to say the least.
"I need to find somewhere safe to sleep for the night. Otherwise I'm gonna end up in a bear's stomach or worse...who knows what the hell else could be out here.", Katsuo said, stopping in his tracks, and looking around at his surroundings. He peered up, trying to see if even a faint flicker of moon light would descend from the heavens to even give him a moment of clarity in this dark world he now dwelled in. Sadly, it seemed as the moon had turned its back on him. "Et tu, Moon?", Katsuo said in a humorous tone, it wasn't funny to him, and it sure as hell wouldn't be funny to the bear that would eventually be full of Filet Katsuo. So, with renewed vigor, Katsuo continued to wander his way through the darkness, hoping maybe to find a place to dwell, or hell even another human being to talk to!
Or maybe it would be a human being with a place for him to dwell for the evening. Or maybe a it would be a female human being with food, a place to dwell, and a killer body. Katsuo slapped himself in the face, things like that don't happen in real life...but if it did happen, he would definitely consider this horrible adventure worth it. Katsuo continued to walk, realizing quite pathetically that he was losing his mind without his favorite sense. Sight. "I promise that if I don't die out here, I will be a better pupil, I will train so hard that my bones will break, and I will faint from exhaustion. Just please let me get through this with all my limbs and my life.", Katsuo uttered under his breath, as he put his hand on what he hoped was a tree.
Katsuo went to step forward and then in an almost too comical effect tripped over a tree root, falling face first into a nearby tree, and of course gashing his forehead. "I fucking hate nature.", Katsuo mumbled, his mouth full of bark, and moss. After a good few seconds of spitting out bark and moss, Katsuo continued his trek into the unknown, all the while trying his best to not alert anything to his presence. Which of course, was easier said than done. There were things out here in the woods, he could sense them vaguely, but couldn't make out what they were. He knew they were waiting for his moment of weakness, but Katsuo refused to give them the opportunity to take advantage of him.
"Guess I'm not sleeping tonight.", Katsuo grunted as he came to the realization that there was no place in this forest that was safe for him to sleep at. Furthermore, with their being a wide variety of creatures out there in the dark, there was a very high chance that even if he found somewhere to stay that those creatures would still try to do something. No, it would be better for him to stay awake and struggle through the forest without any light. It wasn't something he wanted to do of course. Nobody wants to stay up all night after trekking through the woods, especially when they don't have a means to see beyond the basic senses, excluding sight of course. So, Katsuo begrudingly continued through the forest, stumbling, and weaving his way through while hoping, upon hoping that eventually he would find someone or even some food for him to eat.

Artist: Iuchi Maiko - Song: Ketsui to Kakugo - Word Count: 1860
Ring ring ring, goes the alarm. It rang the ears of a man, his hand rose up and simply smashed the clock with outright force, the structure of the clock was crushed to pieces before its materials flew apart from each other by the man's force. It was irritating to stay in the hospital, seemingly that he fought against someone who can control the likes of fire, it burned him pretty good to a point where he had to take a few days in the hospital before he was able to discharge. Those burns hurt quite a bit but his own healing capability made that no exception and covered it before the medicine nor the bandages had its effect in healing. The patient had a bright crimson red hair, his figure was quite tall for a japanese male with his eyes that was reflecting the lights with its bloody red color, akin to a monster whom was about to devour its vicitms and piercing its soul like there was no tomorrow.
The patient's name was Sou Yuuki, also known as The Nightmare for his infamous bounty across the streets of Karakura City. Despite the fact that he was a villain and a bounty in such a city, the doctors willingly kept him as a patient as if he was a normal civilian of this city, never to mind that Sou was the one that led to the destruction of the hospital in the previous year when he didn't like the fact of being seen by anyone who passes by him, to a point where he would kill them for that simple fact because of his own arrogant and selfish personality that during the Australia War in Hobart, he finally had his lessons taught when the blast took him right across the chest, and with an outright chance of almost killing him, he had lost the capability to use his nervous systems anymore and to compensate that fault, the Nightmare used a machine, a device to support his life called I.E.B.N in its short form name, being called as International Electronic Brace Network, a life-sustaining machine that Sou made in order to keep himself alive and active within combat. He couldn't die just yet in that day, and wanted to strive foward above every supernatural beings with all of his power and fists alone wihout relying any sort of spiritual energy or superpower like manipulations, the Nightmare wanted to prove to them that a monster can be created with these bloodied hands of his own from the victims and innocents he had slaughtered to keep the monstrous title of the Nightmare, and the darkness itself that engulfed the last light that sought upon him, his red glowing eyes was the only thing that shone through these darkness and it was something that kept him alive and foward, thrusting away every possible villains that step foot into the likes of Karakura City.
Not to mention those villainous yet boring fact, he couldn't describe the feeling of being in the hospital and chilling himself on the comfortable bed. Wires seems to extending outwards from the bottom part of his wrist, these are proven to be something that 'sustains his life' by using pure electricity that flows throughout his body like a flashlight using batteries to turn on its power. His clothes was like of a bartender's that you could see in an everyday bar from the nearby places to get your good alcohols and expensive ones if your pockets had the money to buy them. A figure of a young man laid on the comfortable bed, with his left hand holding a book with his crimson red eyes staring sharply into the contents of the book, seemingly to enjoy its story within the pages of the book, and never fails to amuse him to the very end. He might've gotten a new hobby for reading but not quite yet, since not every book amuses him, especially romances, he despise that type of story since to him, 'love' never seem to exist to him and his pair of dead eyes, his disbelief of trust and love of this world, full of betrayal and mockery, sitting above the lines of thrones with those that have power and the wealth. His sole purpose for now was to prove that even humans with no powers can stand above spiritual beings, and to do so, he will fight even the strongest possible fighters available on the land of the earth.
His readings was finally hitting the hay when he was tired of having to breathe the air of such a hospital, all those medicine smells and the sounds of patients coughing their lungs out like they were having some kind of huge sickness of there. It truly irritates him, especially for someone with a short-temper and cannot handle these kind of situations, and speaking of air, he would go out right now, although it was quite dark outside and he doubted the doctors would let an injured young man walk alone in the dark but who cares, there ain't a person in the world that can give him the orders and do what they want him to do. Sitting up from the bed, his left hand lightly threw the book onto the warm bed, leaving a sign that he left not too long ago with the warm heat his body had left for the doctors to enjoy their sweet time into finding this 'lost patient' who is about to go out for a stroll and breathe some good fresh air, better than the hospital and more quiet than the coughing patients in the middle of the night.
His slender figure stood up, his right hand reached out to his personal weapon, an underarm crutch, looking alike from the crutches you see in the hospital, this wasn't your ordinary crutch for a show for someone like him who relies heavily in strength and physical combat. He could call it, 'the Annihilator', although it doesn't seem to have a soul or is a Zanpakutō, Sou calls his weapon as a 'she' or a 'her', and seems to enjoy his time respecting his own weapons since they had done so much and sacrificed for him, he wouldn't be more glad than to fix them and to turn them into something better than its original capability as his personal weapon. His walks were unbalanced with each step from his injured body after his fight against Poliro but his crutch took the support for him and gave him a good time to walk across the corridors with only a sound of a crutch tapping and light footsteps of the young figure, the Nightmare who steps through the floors of the building he once destroyed and trapped a couple of civilians in it. He wondered why does the authorities get him right now since he was rather vulnerable in his current condition, but he wouldn't mind either way if its about being left peacefully for him to heal.
Out from the automatic gates from the entrance of the Karakura Hospital, it was time for a good stroll for the Nightmare, and he had an idea where to go for his current state, and it was to the Karakura Forest, a place where him and Poliro threw their fists against each other and brute their forces out like their insanity was pouring out when they have found an entertainment to keep their time worthy of use, Sou himself was no exception to have felt that throughout his years of fighting. Scratching his own head, he wouldn't want to leave such a confortable hospital with their air conditioners and soft beds, but really, he couldn't handle both the noise and the smell of medicines. Sighing with displeasure, only a small sentence was made to ring his own ears to cast off the silence that bears across the streets, "Worst night ever.."
Reaching the depths of the Karakura Forest, Sou took no hesitation to even enter the darkness of the forest, the sounds of birds chipping their beaks that echoes through the woods and the leaves, crows that caws and hollows that stumbled actively upon the nights of the forest, and when a hollow jumped right out of the bushes, it took no less than an uppercut with his almighty force, the head was simply taken apart from its body, before it collapsed as its blood squished out of its lost head that was 'executed' by a mere human with no spiritual power nor abilities of a supernatural. Just a human with fists and strength, nothing else. His footsteps and tappings of his crutch continued further beyond the forest, darkness really meant nothing to him since it fits his so-called title, he makes him feel rather comfortable than the beds of the hospital and its smell, making him feel like he was at home, not until someone else popped before his eyes as if a ghost appeared out of nowhere.
To him, this male had a silver color on the strands of his hair, and he didn't know whether it was naturally silver or was it dyed with something, but that wasn't a question. This young man before him seems to have gloomy eyes compared to a dead man, and doesn't seem like some type of hitchhiker or a camper staying around in the woods, since hollows are rather frequent in number in such forests, it was best not to stay here as if he were in your home sweet home. Sound of annoyance between the grindings of his teeth, his eyes quickly turned from his calm state to his own aggressive nature, his tone clearly held the sign of displeasure, hatred and if one is sharp enough, violence can be felt ringing throughout his ears and skin, his teeth had a row of sharp fangs when his mouth opened and spoke, his teeth showing clearly for someone who is angry, "What are you doing here, kid!? You aren't supposed to be in this forest and get your life wasted like nothing in this piece of dump! Scram before i break those limbs of yours. The exit's just north from your current position."
His hand was gripping tightly against the handles of his crutch, his teeth grinding became more fierce as the anger began to drive his spine and arms with the urge to punch this man's lights out and to never wake up again. This forest was not his, but it wouldn't be necessary for a life to be wasted here and to have a corpse lying around in the forest. If this man insists to scram out, he'll just use force to shove him out of here. It was rare for Sou to sustain himself from fighting and trying to point some directions for a lost camper, but it is a peaceful night and he wouldn't want to leave a body in such a massacre place where the fires of hell and the nature's force clashed before. But he was surprised that the people had it fixed before he even knew it. For now, he would need to deal with this beatout brat.
