A random spar?

Eh, it was a pretty morning here in Soul Society. Ara woke up just after dawn, and felt like it was the time to head out and meet his captain, as well as his other division members. He was a Shinigami now, and should know his teammates well. Arashi just got in the Seiretei, and was making his way through the labyrinth of corridors and walls through which Ara could hardly make his way through.

Uhm... If I remember right... I should go right here? Then left there? And then straight again? Or maybe left, straight and right? No, wait, left... Arashi was confused, as he was, well, lost as a kitten in a big city. So, he just kept wandering around and hoping that he would see somebody he could ask for directions. Before long, he passed next to the 11th Divison's barracks, but didn't pay much attention to it. It's a pretty good day...

Zack had come to realize the absolute best way of getting stronger was not simply training by yourself or working out, or even doing squats. No, the best form of training was training with a partner, spars being notable examples of this. Because of this realization, and the fact that Zack was in the Eleventh Division of the Thirteen Court Guard squads, he had decided to send out challenges in the form of written letters to all non-Captain seated officers in the entirety of the Gotei Thirteen. This way, Zack would get the chance to fight people from each form of combat or specialization, giving him a much more diverse group of training partners.

While waiting for possible candidates for a spar, Zack had starting doing his daily regiment of squat thrusts. His thoughts were racing....when would someone finally come? Who would it be that would fight him? Would they be strong or weak? When would he finally become a hero? All of these thoughts were going through Zack's mind at the speed of a bullet train. Usually he was a pretty calm, albeit energetic, kind of guy but today he was just itching for a nice match. After doing his exercise for about fifteen minutes, he noticed someone walking around the Eleventh Division barracks that he didn't recognize. It must be a challenger! Zack promptly walked up to the man and greeted him, while simultaneously picking his hulking Zanpakutō up by it's hilt by his right hand and resting it on his shoulder.

Hey there! Im Zack Fair, the fifth seat of Division 11. I take it you're here for the sparring match? Let's begin immediately.

Arashi saw a man, a Shinigami as well. He had black spiky hair, and was definitely taller than Ara. He had a pretty damn giant Zanoukto, which was resting on his shoulder as he approached Ara, and spoke.

"Hey there! Im Zack Fair, the fifth seat of Division 11. I take it you're here for the sparring match? Let's begin immediately."

What? Sparring match? Why would I be here for a sparring match? Arashi had a rather confused look on his face, before he decided that he would take the Shinigami on. I mean, what's a better way of training than sparring? So, Ara spoke.

"Yeah, sure. My name's Arashi by the way, nice to meet you."

Arashi would stretch out his hand to handshake with Zack, before leaping back about two or three meters, drawing his Zanpukto in mid-air. He would look into his opponent's eyes, and made sure he was looking at him before nodding; giving a signal that he is fully prepared.

After Arashi greeted Zack, leapt back, and grabbed his Zanpakutō, the battle was ready to commence. Zack suddenly rushed forward, running at a break neck pace towards his sparring partner. When he came within a few feet of Arashi, he lifted his Zanpakutō from it's resting place upon his shoulder and swung the massive blade of the weapon down onto his opponent with a tremendous amount of strength, his arm muscles rippling from the effort. Zack also breathed out as he slammed his sword downwards, which would considerably increase the amount of power behind his swing. Zack was going to take advantage of his strongest physical trait, strength, and use it to it's fullest extent.

After the downwards vertical slash, Zack brought his left fist back, cocked it, and aimed a punch straight for Arashi's chest. By swinging his Zanpakutō first, Zack was able to try and make sure his opponent's weapon wouldn't be able to stop his punch, allowing him to drop a heavy punch past Arashi's guard. After the initial punch, Zack attempted to put three more quick jabs past his foe's guard before stepping back about a foot. After backing up, he gripped the hilt of his Zanpakutō tightly with both of his strong hands and swung diagonally, left to right, from the ground up. Zack then continued his assault by attempting to kick Arashi directly in the chest with his right foot, a kick strong enough to fracture bones and even shatter bricks. After doing so, Zack pushed even more by raising his massive Zanpakutō above his head, and then swinging it down kendo-style with all the physical strength he could muster. If Arashi blocked this hit, he'd more than likely feel the pressure from the blow throughout his entire body, though his arm(s) would take the brunt of the attack. Zack merely smiled after bringing his Zanpakutō down upon his opponent, waiting to see if there would be a reply in kind to his quick assault.

Zack charged at Ara, and swung his sword at Ara in a vertical manner. From the weight and size of the sword, and the apperant strength of the swing, Arashi could tell his opponent was probably a fearsome one. He took his stance, widening his legs apart a bit, and prepared his knees to absorb the force of the attack. His Zanpukto was wielded by a dual grip, that would help in his defense. A loud clash was heard when their swords collided, and it appeared so that Zack had the advantage; he was slightly overpowering Ara's defense.

Time to act. The moment after the clash, Ara instantly let go of the blade with his left hand, and pointed the palm at Zack as he shouted as loud as he could. He could feel being overpowered by the blade, but this would clear things up; Ara also noticed his opponent doing something with his hand. Whatever it was it was too late.

"Sho!"

He would release a strong gust of Reaitsu from his hand, that would push his opponent back by at least a meter to two, if not more. If the shockwave hit (which was extremely likely at the point-blank range) Arashi would immediately use the distance between them in his advantage. Five swings, as fast and swift as Ara could manage, performed with both of his arms. the slices weren't aimed at Zack of course, as he was too far away. To him it would look like they were aimed at thin air, until he found out what came out of them that is.

The tip of Ara's Zanpukto had Reaitsu in it, and left a trail of chain with each swing. After the quick swing would be over, the 2-3 meter long chain made from strong black metal would launch towards Zack in full speed and force, in order to wrap around him and immobilize him effectively. Five of those chains would be launched with great swiftness, and seeing all of them being dodged at this range and speed would truly be a sight to behold. If all went well, Ara would try and approach his opponent while running and attempt a diagonal swing, right to left, down to up; it was the direction opposite of Zack's Zanpukto holding arm, so even if he could block the block would be weaker.

A Kidō user? Crap, I might be in trouble! Zack was thrown back a couple of feet, but not as much as Arashi may have expected thanks to Zack's powerful legs helping to keep him from being pushed back too much. Though caught off guard, Zack still maintained his fighting stance, and held his Zanpakutō with both of his hands as he expected a counterattack from his opponent. Zack guessed correctly, it seems. Zack held his Zanpakutō in front of his body vertically, it's long blade shining rather brilliantly in the bright sun light. He was ready for a fight, and it seemed like he was getting one.

To Zack's surprise, black chains seemingly generated from his opponent's Zanpakutō were flung at him at rather high speeds. "Woah, woah, woah! What are those things?!" As the first chain came within a distance of about six feet, Zack swung his Zanpakutō horizontally, the tip of the blade making contact with the knife attached to the tip of the chain, sending it careening to the left. When the next one came into range, Zack sent it flying upwards with another swing of his massive buster sword, and do so again twice more. However, because the fifth one was so close to the fourth, it got by his Zanpakutō and the knife was able to knick Zack's right shoulder, as he was able to move a few inches to the left in order to prevent it from wrapping around him.

A direct attack against me? I like his style! Zack blocked the basic attack his opponent tried to use on him relatively easily as he had been wielding his Zanpakutō with both of his hands for a while now. After catching the blow with his Zanpakutō, stopping Arashi in his tracks, Zack used all the force he could muster and shoved his foe backwards, hopefully at least a few feet if not more due to the difference in physical strength. Following up on the shove, Zack swung his Zanpakutō horizontally from left to right at the other shinigami, and then continued with a forward lunge, attempting to either get a nice hit on his sparring partner or, at the very least, knock him back even farther if the attack was blocked. Zack then immediately spun in a circle as fast as possible while also moving towards his opponent, and swung Basutāsōdo at Arashi from right to left using the momentum from the swing to increase the power of his blow. Directly afterwards, Zack took a step back, spread his feet apart, and took a defensive stance.

OOC: I believe that you RP-ed like I launched the chains like "spears". The chains were thrown at you like this, the blades were at the far end of the chains; you shouldn't be able to even reach them with your sword, and they wouldn't even touch you. Please PM me, or talk to me in the CB. I'll edit my post when we talk.

Having seemingly been able to catch his sparring opponent off guard with his relentless counterattack, Zack apparently had no need to maintain his defensive stance anymore, or his wide guard. The multiple strikes from his mighty Zanpakutō had apparently caused Arashi to clearly become distant as his eyes seemed to glaze over from the amount of pain and blood loss. Having already dealt heavy damage, there was only one thing left to do: deal the finishing blow. Even though Zack was a pretty nice guy, and never tried to deal even fatal wounds, this time was different. Not only had Arashi fought arrogantly, but he had also tried to attack Zack from a long range distance instead of having a good old sword fight with him. He also figured doing this would help him gain some fame among the court guard divisions and help him along the path of becoming a hero. And so Zack decided to end the life of his opponent.

Zack raised his sword up and held it horizontally, the hilt raised about an inch above his left shoulder and the very tip of the blade aimed square at Arashi. After doing so, Zack sprinted forward towards his opponent with all speed, pushing himself to the limit to test precisely where it was. Closing in on his foe, Zack brought his blade down and even dropped the tip of the sword to the ground, having it trail behind him. Once he really came into range, Zack stopped himself, sent his momentum into his swing, and swung his Zanpakutō diagonally from it's current point, slicing deep into the skin of Arashi's torso, as well as sending blood spraying upwards. Immediately afterwards, Zack brought his sword high up into the air above this head and dropped it like a sledge hammer on his opponents head, this time from a point about a foot closer to his enemy. Though the initial hit only cut Arashi's right hand off at the wrist, which caused his Zanpakutō to drop to the ground, the second swing cleanly sliced all the way through his entire body. Such a powerful, undefended-against blow could do but one single thing and have one single outcome: complete bifurcation. Zack flicked his wrist to remove the blood from his Zanpakutō, grabbed Arashi's Zanpakutō, and turned around. Right after turning around, Arashi's two halves fell away from each other and made flopped to the ground. Before leaving, Zack raised his sword above his head and slammed it down onto Arashi's Zanpakutō, shattering the blade into multiple pieces which then seemed to turn into dust and flew away into the breeze. This fight was over.
