Thruuuummmmm...
All at once, every tree in the forest surround Karakura Central bowed in the wake of an immense force that was akin to wind. Leaves were split off of the branches they were once attached to, sent spiraling through the air in a slow cascade to the ground. The pulse was even strong enough to carry outside of the forest and into the Outskirts of Karakura, but were bounced back by the barrier that protected the metropolis beyond. Any living thing that allowed it to pass through them would feel it like a beat in their chest, rattling their bones and shaking the foundation they stood upon. Birds fluttered out of the forest canopy and away from the source of this pulse, just as the deer within the shadows of the timbers would leap in the direction they believed was safe. After this initial thrumming shockwave, the pressure would lower, but not return to its original level. There was a constant tension in the air of the Forest, apparent to anyone with an adequate sense of spiritual energy. It spoke tale of an incredibly powerful being, not unfathomably so, but close. It was quite far into the depths of this woodland, where darker beings roamed. Hollows attracted by the high concentration of souls in Karakura Central were forced out here where they could hide, and the Soul Society deigned this area as more trouble than it was worth containing. With the Anti-Hollow barrier in place, and so many great powers quartered within, nobody was really worried. There were so many strong beings present that the population of corrupted souls was generally contained by such people... 'having fun'.
Take Nozomi, the source of this enthralling energy: Sounds of flesh being lopped off of bodies and sharp metal slicing through the air echoed throughout the area, filling the night with trauma. A blade passed gracefully out of a mass of black muscle and sinew. Blood trailed off the tip of the weapon and was sprayed across the ornate ground. Flowers of many colors were defaced by the stark crimson liquid that painted the innocent petals. Then... then they were crushed by the weight of a body not belonging to a human. It was just a mere hollow of no considerable power or strength, but a hollow nonetheless. Its body was one of many that littered the florid terrain, easily cast aside from the cold steel of Nozomi's blade. Though they all had suffered grevious wounds and incapable of action, they still lived; the hollows. They groaned and shrieked and cried, mindless hatred pervading their mind and dictating their thoughts. They hated the blue-haired woman who had trespassed on their land and then put them down mercilessly, then insulted them by leaving them alive to endure the pain of near-death. As they shouted and writhed, the perpetrator had not a word for them. She only focused on the next target—that's all that mattered right now—the next hollow to cut down. Her blade flew forth without hesitation, sinking into dark flesh.
It had taken but several minutes for her to be able to sit down. Huffing out a chilled breath, she plopped herself on an unmarred patch of grass, plowing the tip of her sword into the ground with a light 'shink' of a noise. Her long solid-black skirt had billowed around her as her form fell, sprawling out around her as she sat cross-legged; it shrouded her legs from view. Her top consisted of similarly shaded mantle that fell over her shoulders and arms, but was not long enough to hide her stomach or bandaged forearms. Underneath the mantle was a type of tube-top, thus leaving the light-toned skin of her abdomen visible. Though everything past her elbow was bandaged in white tape, she wore gloves on both hands that fell into the consistent theme of darkness about her. Her face stood out most due to this style, despite the blank expression she wore. Dark blue hair flowed down her back, while a dark void seemed to have possessed her eyes. The rest of her features were petite, and if one really fastened their concentration on her visage, it was not tough to find the appealing factors of her... and yet her surroundings spoke against any sort of beauty here. dozens of Hollow bodies lied around her an inch from death, having finally given up their annoying yelling and screaming. The scene had frozen.
Nozomi wordlessly awaited, her Omnidou calmly watching her surroundings. Human nature was notorious for tendencies of curiosity, and she figured her actions here were intriguing enough. With the call of her Reiatsu combined with the mash up of Hollows here, who could resist the temptation? Chances were, she'd be meeting somebody soon...
Most likely...

A strange pulse echoed through the forest, something of unknown origin. With unknown origin, Hitoshi did not mean that the point of origin was unknown, but that the owner of the energy was entirely unknown to him. Part of it felt quite familiar, almost as if it was an energy he could relate to, though it was entirely different at the same time, augmented beyond recognition. Regardless of how it had been augmented, it interested him enough to go out there and see who its owner was. It was not hard for him to locate the owner, going by the fact that the pulse seemed to radiate in a circular pattern, making it easy for him to read where it’s epicentre would be. Whatever it was, it was quite a bit stronger then him, though the way it felt to him made him believe that it was not necessarily evil. Maybe it was just his human nature that made him seek out the source of this pulse of energy that almost seemed to resonate with his own on a superficial level. Putting on his white hood, he hid his face from sight as he started his walk into the dark heart of the forest. Drawing ever closer with each step that he took, the resounding cries of the Hollow got louder and louder, the amount of varying cries getting larger. It was strange, knowing full well that this was the part where most Hollow that had ceased to live in Hueco Mundo had set up camp. Incapable of penetrating the outer shield that protected the city, most of the lesser Hollow remained in this part of the forest while most of the Hollow that were at least Adjuchas classed Menos went through the shield, sometimes even driving souls out of the shields for the lessers to feed on.
It was a horrific sight to see, for all this death was not something that appealed to his eyes. He knew that the things done by Hollow were nothing better then this, they killed their prey after stalking and capturing it. This was a horror show, all these Hollow being left to bleed out and suffer the pain originating from the wounds inflicted to their bodies by the nameless attacker. He had been in the forest of Menos for a long time, at least a month, gathering information and taking samples for his research. In that time, he had learned a lot about Hollow, learning enough to know that Hollow did not generally attack humans, and even when they did it was not out of anger or the need to destroy mankind. No, it was their never ending hunger that pushed them to feed on souls, while for the stronger Adjuchas, it was the fear of regression that kept them at it. It was truly a horrible thing, to regress back into a Gillian, completely having ones personality erased and forced to live as a mindless beast for the rest of their lives, sometimes taking hundreds or even thousands of years to end. Right now, the best thing he could do for the suffering souls was to kill them by himself, because no matter how evil or dark their actions were, they were actions performed out of instinct, not out of a will to do evil.
Activating the gathering mechanism in his glove, the seal on the palm of his hand started glowing. Taking his gun in his right hand, he started passing through the floor that had been littered with what seemed like corpses, but were in fact all dying and suffering Hollow. Taking aim without really looking, he aimed and fired at their masks, killing them within seconds after firing. His eyes kept following the trace of energy to find the killer, his hand focused on killing the many Hollow that surrounded him. If someone was watching, they could see that once they died, the bodies they left behind disintegrated, broken down into Reishi and absorbed into the seal on his glove. The gun that fired pristine blue bullets, the white clothing he wore and the blue mist of particles that encircled him while being drawn into his glove, all of these things would be enough for even the weak minded souls to know that Hitoshi was a Quincy. Firing a total of twenty six rounds, he knew for sure that he had sent twenty six souls into the flow of souls that would one day be reborn, while the remaining bodies all contributed to the glowing, bright blue vortex swirling around him like a colorful mist. Still continuing to walk through the blood drenched grass and sand, the source of the pulse had gotten in his sights, being no more then thirty meters away from him. Like a ghost clad in white, he took the cloud of particles with him as he walked ever closer, not stopping until he was at roughly five meters away from her.
Ahead of him, a woman was sitting in the grass, a sword standing up straight in the ground beside her. Having the natural ability to read Spiritual pressure at a much higher level then any other race, Hitoshi knew that this was the person that had attacked and butchered the Hollow that made this place their home. Standing still in the bloodied grass in front of her, his once white shoes had been tainted with the crimson color of blood. As the last particles got sucked into the seal, he shrugged his throat, knowing that if this person was a bad seed, he would most likely be in quite a bit of trouble. “You’ve made it pretty easy for people to find you out here, though the reason for that still remains to be seen. To me, you don’t seem like an evil creature or a demon, though the actions committed here would almost say otherwise. Can you explain why you would make those miserable creatures suffer, rather then finishing them off entirely?” he asked, not being afraid of what this person was capable of doing, but wondering why she would do such a terrible thing. Now that he stood this close, there was not a doubt in his mind that this person was a Quincy of some sort. It was hidden well, maybe without trying to do so, but still hidden quite well in the whirlwind of different energies. What made her spiritual pressure have such a unique feel, he didn’t know, but it raised his curiosity all the more. She was a pretty one, there was no denying that, though he did not feel right with people that cared so little about other creature’s lives.

The Omnidou, her omniscient eyes, seemed dark. Yes, dark as in evil or corrupt, that kind of dark that her entire semblence could be surmised as. And yet it was simply just misunderstood... though it, like Nozomi herself, could be misconcieved as pertaining to the shadows, the Omnidou was quite the opposite. It was enlightening to its possessor, granting nothing but illumination for as long as they persisted. That is why, as soon as a single young man turned his attention over to the strange pulsing she was letting off, she would know. Without so much as a twitch of her eyes, she would watch his trek in her direction, curiosity overcoming the lad and direction of his tread. She would hum thoughtfully for the time being, considering he still had quite a distance to walk to even enter close proximity to the woman—that alone simply spoke of the vast dominion of the Omnidou. Though, in time he would finally enter the Hollow-infested premises, though only the area where she had already cleared out any resistance from the beasts. He would not seem to run into any of them still standing, despite some of them sticking around at what they thought was a safe distance from Nozomi. Still, whether or not it was by sheer coincidence, or the fact that this newcomer was a proficient sensor of spiritual energy, was currently a mystery. That's when the analysis began: his very being from the inside out was torn apart under the scrutinizing eye of the Bunkaidou, as it was allowed to evaluate every single fiber of his reality from every angle in excruciating detail. Properties, capabilities, tendencies, everything; It was the Bunkaidou's purpose to deduce such things in time. Though the acquisition of knowledge was not instantaneous, Nozomi could easily learn the outer layer of information from her first array of visual tests. This way, she did not have to painstakingly go through the boring questions as to what he was or what his purpose happened to be. He was a Quincy, like her, and the funny thing was that she only had to look at his clothing to deduce that.
There was a myriad of things her eyes were pry to observe, many she did not always wish to but had long ago gotten over catching sight of such things. Rather, she was more interested in the contents of the man's wallet. Her all-seeing eyes peered like X-rays through the fabric of his pockets and the wallet itself, so that his driver's license and all the information upon it was subject to her study. Hitoshi Hikaru, the license read, its picture fitting his appearance. Ah yes, a resident of Karakura Central she had seen in the background... she now remembered, with that flawless memory of hers, that this man had stepped into her massive range of vision many times before. Nozomi simply had never really paid attention to him as a matter of interest despite the power radiating from him. Many people in this age had power, that she just stopped concerning herself with every aspirant who crossed her path. So until this very moment, this one man was just a single identity among a throng of people. Now who exactly was he besides a name and a face? Well, she had already discovered the fact that he was Quincy, and one with great power. She simply had a ball day analyzing his inner capabilities with the Bunkaidou, given the time granted to her as he closed the multi-kilometer distance from point A to point B. By the time he had arrived at the site of the 'massacre', she had figured out that he had taken on alternate facets of other races. There were faint traces of corrupted energy resonating through him that could only be defined as a Hollow's spiritual signature, while reiryoku of a Zanpakutō were lingering somewhere on his person as well. She sighed when she found it—the medallion that was designed by one of her olden followers—on his person. Juhabach and his desire to quash the Soul King birthed the Bankai-stealing medal, purposely fitted to defeat the Shinigami. Though as far as she knew, him and his beliefs had died long ago in the Quincy extirmination.
So, could the medallion infer as to his ideals? She could not be sure, and for all she knew it could simply be a token of power to him. But she had run out of time, and the cacophony began. She noted the collection of spiritual energy into the cross dangling from his wrist, as his Quincy 'bow' was summoned forth. No, rather the weapon took the form of a long-barreled handgun. Well, there were no longer any doubts in the woman's mind that he was one of the modern Quincy, as all of his clothing, powers, and equipment suggested; he would be an efficient fighter. His targets were the Hollows, as one by one he suddenly began picking them off with bullets of Reishi aimed at their masks. For the first time, Nozomi's brow raised as she witnessed what was happening to the corrupted souls. His bullets were not doing what they were supposed to be doing by destroying them. They were... purifying the Hollows as they perforated the heads, in exactly the same process a Soul Slayer might. The next reaction was the furrowing of her brows, now paying close attention to the bullets themselves in the short time they flew from the gun's barrel to their target. By the twenty-sixth bullet fired, it was true she had figured out that her initial hypothesis was indeed correct and that his bullets had the same purification capabilities of a Zanpakutō. However, the intricacies and complexities revolving around crafting such bullets were currently beyond her at this moment. If she ever dared to try to imitate such an effect for herself, she would be occupied over the next several years trying to create a finished product of the same caliber. When he was finished, he locked his eyes on her, and she did to him in return, peeking out from under her bangs to make visual contact. Pure dark hues met him without an iota of emotion. He spoke.
Then her demeanor shifted, the Ernst mind frame taking over on the spot. The darkness of her eyes subsided immediately to the edges of the sclera, revealing her humane whites and crimson irises. And a sly smile overtook her expression, as she tilted her head. "Hmm?" she hummed in delighted confusion at him, as suddenly her blade began glowing the same light blue that her reaitsu was represented as. In seconds the weapon seemed to dissipate into millions of sparkling particles that began to fall as if the weapon was suddenly turned to sand. Yet before the entire form collapsed, the bounty of reishi were drawn around the woman's front and all the way to her left side toward her gloved hand. She held it up to show the newcomer the back of her hand, where it would seem an aquamarine gem was bedazzled at the center of the black fabric. The particles were absorbed into that single small stone, causing it to glow brightly for a moment before dimming back to normal. It may not have looked it, but that gem was her 'Quincy Cross'. After the pretty little scene was over, she placed her hand back down into her lap and settled to talk with him. "That's boring. Can't you guess, strange sir? Why ever would someone like me choose not to kill Hollows? You get once chance," she finished, now holding her opposite hand up, pointing her index finger up to indicate the number one.

How very interesting. This girl had, without making much work out of it, absorbed the majority of the Reishi that remained around him when he got closer to her, indicating her control over reishi. This, together with his earlier hypothesis of sensing various energies coiling around inside of the woman, he was getting quite certain that she was in fact a Quincy, just like him. During the time he had spent watching her, she now started to show more and more of what she truly was by absorbing the reishi into a glove of her own, similar to how he had been taking care of the Hollow remains. Closer observation showed that whatever power she had going on inside those dark eyes of hers, she had chosen to get rid of for the moment, showing that she still had the eyes of a normal human being. When she started responding to his questions, he could not help but wonder why she had gone this deep into the forest just to kill Hollow. It seemed like a good deed, though for some reason, it seemed like she had most likely enjoyed killing the miserable creatures, though he had no idea as to why that thought rose to mind. Perhaps it was because at some level, he too enjoyed dispatching the creatures that went bumping in the night, the kind of monsters that gave children bad dreams, the horrors from another dimension that ripped families apart and took ones loved ones away. It seemed overly dramatic, though it was what had happened to thousands of people all over the world, just like it had happened to him.
After he heard what she had to say, a grin appeared on his face, for he sensed a challenge. Hitoshi always enjoyed this kind of stuff, for it was a test of his skills, and quite a hard one at that, for this girl was covered in mystery. “Well, where should I begin. My first hypothesis when observing your Reiatsu was that you, or at least some part of you appeared to be Quincy by origin. The more I started reading into your pressure, it seemed that one of the other energies appeared Hollow. At first, I believed that it might be the amount of Hollow in the area that were messing with my ability to read ones spiritual pressure, but that seemed to not be the case when the Hollow presence in this forest cleared out. The next thing I noticed was that you had a more... elusive power inside of you, one I have not seen before, and as such can’t explain. Hmm...” he said, giving part of his explanation before bringing a hand to his chin, showing that he was thinking about what he should be bringing up next. If he was wrong about all of this, he would look stupid, and he did not feel like portraying himself as a fool at all. No, it would be best to explain his thoughts as much as possible and hope that next to his skill in reading her Reiatsu, he had a bit of luck on his side. Even the most skilled Quincy would have trouble reading what this woman had going on correctly, while also requiring someone who had more knowledge of the world then he did, meaning also that he was not really at the appropriate age to get this kind of thing right at the first try.
Continuing where he had left off, he removed his hand from his chin and pointed at the young woman’s glove. “The manipulation of Reishi, that however requires skills that I have only seen in other Quincy, though some of us are much better at it then others. I reckon that most of this is old news to you, because if I am right, there is really no need for me to explain any of this, though I prefer being thorough with you” he said, showing to her that he was not going to make the mistake of underestimating her. It took skill to control Reishi particles, while whatever means she had used to draw him here was not a simple trick either. No, whatever this girl had going on was not something the average person was capable of achieving. In a way, it seemed like she both appeared and acted like she was younger then she actually was, something most people did lately. As was the case with most Shinigami, she most likely appeared young, but was in fact quite a bit older then most other humans that still walked the earth. Still, he stuck to the earlier vibe of her not being an evil person, because even now she seemed to be a very nice person, nicer then the average person one would encounter this deep in the forest after slaying a couple dozen Hollow with some strange power. Hitoshi knew that she would have expected a more simple and short answer, though for earlier stated reasons, he wanted to show her that he had at least a decent skill in sensing Reiatsu.
“I’m sorry for the lengthy explanation, I don’t usually talk this much, but it seemed too easy to just call you a Quincy and then just be done with it. Still, I would say that you are at least a Quincy by birth, and that your other powers have formed around it, mingling with your own in order to augment your power to a certain extent. Whatever you have going on is similar to my own in nature, though we seem to have our powers function in a very different manner. Yours seem to be much closer to you, while mine are kept distanced from me, something I can’t really explain either”. It was true, the two of them most likely had more in common then the naked eye would be capable of seeing, though that just made this encounter all the more interesting to him. He had a Hollows power, and the power of a Shinigami, while she had the power of a Hollow mixed with something he had never seen before in his life. By the time he noticed that he had been quiet for about a minute, he abruptly stopped pondering and over thinking things, and just put his conclusion out there. “To put it as simple as possible, I would assume that you did not kill them because you either felt like making them suffer, or lacked the ability to purify souls, and would lead to the destruction of their very souls if you had killed them. Perhaps a mixture of the two?”.

Stillness, silence, of course. There was a moment of emptiness in which the man took the time to think, which was reasonable. But, the first response wasn't so verbal as it was a simple smile to match hers. Oh? Her challenge seemed to please him, meaning if nothing more that she had stumbled upon an intellectual; a try-hard intellectual that is. So naturally, his response was long-winded and had an explanation behind each and every minute detail. Not to say he was stupid and fell short of the mark, but it had been his intention (and he outright admitted it) to prove his level of acumen to the blue-haired woman. Why? There really should have been no reason why, as she had given man no reason for it to have really been like this. And yet, apparently she had exuded some form of mental superiority that had him out to prove himself to her. So the woman idly sat on the one patch of unblemished grass for the entire duration of his commentary, her finger slowly drooping downwards at a pitiful speed. Again, he was not wrong for the most part: Nozomi was a Quincy and part-time Hollow (the pulses she intentionally released should have made this fairly obvious). But the bit about her being born a Quincy was an offshoot... she just simply could not waste the time explaining she had come from an entirely different universe; her dirty little secret.
But then came the worst bit, as he decidedly granted the woman an 'either-or', two answers jumbled into one response, to which she appropriately responded to with an expression of jarring disbelief. She waited for the amends, and they came in the form of a question; answering a question with a question. God, how the woman hated questions, especially when so badly misused. When Nozomi asked questions, she posed them as challenges, tests, trials. When most anyone else queried anything, it was for the purpose of acquiring information they were too lazy to discover for themselves, showing an inability to investigate and find solutions by oneself. How dare he pose himself as an intellectual and then spew such folly upon her ears! She was highly offended by the climax of his long-winded speech, and appropriately frown. She loosened up, suddenly crawling out of her seat and pulling herself up to her feet. Her clothing straightened out as she stretched her limbs, working out the kinks. Then, returning to her expression of discontent, she locked her eyes on the fellow Quincy. "That's not fair, answering the question with two different choices. That's just terrible; blasphemy!" She crossed her arms, almost seeming to pout now.
Whatever the case, he was wrong. She had no opinion upon whether or not Hollows should suffer, and thus his reasoning of her regards was off. However, it was completely true to say that she did not deliver the final blow for she knew if she did, the Hollows and the souls they have therefore corrupted would be destroyed completely—true death. That, in turn, explained why she had acted as a spiritual beacon, hoping to draw someone with such purification abilities to the area where she had downed a handful of these creatures. It was most likely she would attract a Shinigami, and yet what she instead found was another Quincy with the odd ability to the same end. Though, she would not say this to him, as he most likely could figure it out on his own. Instead, she would be brooding on how the man had missed out on such a golden opportunity and decided to pose himself as a nerd rather than someone halfway cool. To think all he had to do was keep the extensive detailing in his mind, and then in a low hearty voice respond with his curt answer. Then he'd pull out the sunglasses and make profit. Finishing the conception crafted by an overreactive imagination, Nozomi would sigh.
"Well, it was interesting," she muttered quietly as she turned towards Karakura Central and began to walk away, not saying anything more on the matter. Did the Quincy dare follow?
