Hollows Night
Sat Jan 12, 2013 12:29 am
Ozuma moved through the menos as fast and smooth as he could. Since Ozuma had no time to deal with all the low level hollows here that would try and fight him if they got a chance. Though Ozuma was itching for a little fight, he had other things to do with his time. Though if he got the chance Ozuma would leap at the chance to kill a hollow or two, but right now he was in a rush. And soon it would be night time from what Ozuma knew. Though one could not really tell since it looked dark as hell from all of the trees, but that did not matter. For Ozuma was sure that once it became night time this forest would come alive with all of the hollows that live inside of it.
And as soon as Ozuma thought about that, he would here a sound like something was quickly moving to come after him. And in a split second Ozuma would be knocked off his feet and rolling on the ground. Though with his training Ozuma would quickly be able to catch himself and jump back up onto his feet look into the eyes of the bloodthirsty hollow that had just managed to attack him. This was something that was very shocking to Ozuma as he had not even sensed the hollow that had attacked him. And if it hadn’t been because of his ears Ozuma may of actually been hurt by the Hollow.
But now Ozuma stood face to face with the beast that looked like a giant bull on two legs. Though Ozuma could tell that this was no regular hollow, this thing had muscles like nothing he had ever seen. And as Ozuma stared at the beast for a second he almost be caught off guard as the beast charged at him. But Ozuma without a second of hesitation pull out his Seele Schneider from his belt and cut straight threw the hollows body cutting it in half vertically. The beast body would then hit the ground with a loud thud. As it started to dissolve, Ozuma would put his Seele Schneider back on his belt.
But as soon as Ozuma started to walk a strange feeling would go into the air as the sound of a loud whistle filled the forest. And instantly as this happen Ozuma knew that he would be in some trouble. As it was now night time in the forest of menos. And that meant that all the hollows would now be coming out to play. Ozuma could only hope that his cousin would be able to make it in this forest at night by herself. Since now was not the time for someone who could not take care of themselves to be in the forest.
After about thirty seconds the whistle noise would stop and the forest would go dead silent as though nothing was alive in it. And after about a second of the silence Ozuma would hear a loud roar as though a great beast had just woken up from a long sleep. Then without a moment’s notice Ozuma would hear the movements of hollows as they circled him. This would make Ozuma smirk a little bit. Since he could tell that his was about to be in for a fight that was not going to be a simple little fight. Since from what Ozuma could see there were about one hundred hollows that had circled him on the ground. And there was no telling how many more where making their way towards him. And so without a second thought Ozuma would bring his bow forth and start shooting as fast as he could only hoping that he would be able to make it through this.

Whenever Hitoshi came to the Forest, it was like there was something else going on with the Hollow community, usually caused by something that did not really belong in the forest to begin with. Whether it was a rogue Arrancar killing off the lesser Hollow, a Shinigami that wanted to get some action by cutting down the weaker beings, or simply because of stronger beings fighting one another and being attracted by the spiritual pressure. He had never been attacked by Hollows, though that was most likely because they did not look kindly to getting killed. When he first came to the forest, he had established that he was stronger then them by releasing some Reiatsu, and had never been attacked since that day. Hollow were a lot like animals, preying on those weaker then them, which was why he would be quite safe here. Walking through the forest, it did not take long before he could hear the sound of battle again, coming from all over the forest. It was only natural, for all Hollow constantly tried to kill and feed on one another so they could become stronger, though this rarely worked out well for them. Most of them died, even after feeding on a great deal of them, just because they got blind sided and killed when they were busy fighting another Hollow.
It was a fun thing to see, at least to him, comparing it to watching the discovery channel. Moving further on, he could tell that there was another being like him firing his weapon, which was never a good thing. When a Quincy killed something, it meant that their very soul would deteriorate and be removed from existence. In his opinion, this was how the old fashioned Quincy did their things, though it was not how he would handle things, not when his own powers were so much more evolved then all the others. His Quincy weapon replaced the old fashioned bow, for his Magnum styled handgun had been going through his family for many hundreds of years, enhancing it to the point where it alone had the ability to cleanse the souls of those it pierces and kills, meaning it contributes to the spiritual balance of the different dimensions. It was what separated him from the rest of the Quincy, at least that was what he believed to be the case. Even though Hitoshi was different for not belonging to an important high classed Quincy family or being part of a powerful organization, he was doing well enough on his own, meeting various people along the way and doing what he felt was right.
Letting his Reiatsu flare a bit, he was certain that most of the Hollow would remember it quite well, seeing as he had been to the forest several times during the last month. He took no pride in the slaughter of Hollow, for they were like animals, trying to feed an unquenchable hunger and working hard so they could evolve, hoping to one day regain a sense of sentience. Watching the other Quincy still firing his bow, he called out to him. “You should not use that thing here. You’re in their world now, so destroying souls with a weapon like that seems a bit unfair, don’t you think?” he said, figuring that he would lower his weapon now. If it were Hollow in the material world, he had very little trouble with people shooting them down, though they were no longer in their own world, and as such, should think before they used certain types of weaponry. Seeing as some of them had already disintegrated, the rest of the Hollow quickly scattered and left the Quincy behind. Not really intending to stick around other Quincy for too long, he let out a deep sigh and started walking down his usual route again.

As Ozuma took on all the hollows that dared to get close enough to him, he would notice that another spiritual pressure was coming near them. Though this one was way stronger than all of the hollows, as this spirit pressure was even stronger than that of Ozuma. Though Ozuma was not able to realize that the strange man that walked up was a Quincy just like him, and this surprised him very much. As he did not expect some random Quincy to be in the forest of Menos like he was. Though Ozuma figured this would be a great place for Quincy to train though the strange thing was that this Quincy was one that Ozuma had never seen. And it was very rare for Ozuma to meet a Quincy he did not know. Since most of the Quincy still alive were members of the Tsuineda family or had done dealings with them. Though Ozuma figured that there was a small chance of their being Quincy that did not want have anything to do with his family. Since Ozuma barley wanted anything to do with his family.
But as the Quincy Approached all the hollows that had yet to be destroyed would take off running in fear like they were scared of this Quincy that had just shown up. Though Ozuma was not too pleased with what the man would say to him. Since Ozuma felt that he had all rights to attack these hollow that had attacked him for no reason. Since Ozuma was trying to go to his meeting with his cousin, but had been rudely interrupted by the hollow that had attacked him. Plus the fact that they were Quincy it was somewhat of their job to murder hollows. So even if Ozuma was in the world of the hollows he was in perfect rights to kill those that had attacked him. Though Ozuma could care less since he was not really a big fan of hollows and just dealt with them because they messed with him. But this guy was making it seem like Ozuma was in the wrong for attacking him. But Ozuma wouldn’t say anything as the man cautioned to walk off.
But before the man would be able to get more than three meters away from Ozuma a hollow about the size of an average man came from the shadows and quickly shot out two ceros aimed right for the man’s face. And before Ozuma would be able to respond and help the man another hollow about the same size would come at Ozuma and charge at him shooting ceros. Ozuma would instantly be able to tell that these were no regular hollows that they were now dealing with. But they were Vasto Lorde, the strongest of all hollows. As Ozuma could easily tell that the spirit pressure of this hollows were close to his and the other mans levels. Meaning this would most likely be and equal level battle on their hands. And now Ozuma could only hope he and this strange Quincy he had just met would be able to hold their own against these to Vasto Lorde.

Mere seconds were all Hitoshi had in terms of time, forced to respond to a powerful Hollow that jumped out all of a sudden in an attempt to get rid of both Quincy. Noticing the Cero, Hitoshi used his Hirenkyaku to move to the Hollow, forcing his own arms upward in order to strike at the Hollow’s, causing the red beams to fire straight up. He had experienced first hand that Hollow were not to be underestimated when firing Cero, for they could easily scar even the strongest of beings. When the blasts shot upward, he pushed the palm of his hand into the Hollow’s chest, forcing it back with a loud clap, almost as if the ribs in it’s chest cracked on hit. Hitoshi, being a human in body, appeared to be a frail creature just like all others, though this was far from the truth, something this Hollow would soon feel first hand. By the use of his Hirenkyaku, he stepped behind the Hollow, striking another powerful hit at it’s lower back. Forming a blade of Reishi in it’s right hand, he struck down on the back of it’s head, cleaving straight through the biggest part of the creatures skull. ”Vasto Lorde... what cruel fate drove you to come here and attack me in such a pathetic fashion..” he said, just loud enough for the beast to hear him, though he had already counted his victory and claimed the creature to be dead.
Interesting as it was, it refused to go down even now, the bones in it’s chest and lower back somehow shot back in place. Stepping back a bit and drawing his blade out, the fragmented mask and flesh beneath it seemed to heal back up, closing without any kind of scar tissue. Letting out a bestial roar, it was shown that this creature had the best regenerative prowess of all the Hollow he had seen so far. Throwing his sword into the creatures chest, he aimed for his gun located at his hip, taking it out and aiming it at the Hollow. By the time the blade plunged itself into the creatures chest, his gun had been taken into his hands and aimed at the Hollow’s face. Firing at an incredible rate from within fifteen meters, the rapid fire of bullets shot with such power that within three seconds, there was very little left of it’s head, simply too much for him to regenerate. His gun, the Ace of Judgment, was the weapon he wielded instead of a Bow, finding this weapon to be much more accurate, powerful and up to date then the bows others chose to wield. “Sayonara, Hollow” he thought to himself as it’s heads fragments started dropping to the floor, the body slowly falling to it’s knees.
When the Hollow collapsed to the ground, it already died before falling face down into the white sand, what was left of it’s face. Placing a hand in the neck of the Hollow, the creature started disintegrating, taking on blue and white colors before fully turning into particles. After circling around him for a while, they got sucked into the palm of his hand, into a glove of course. This was the third Hollow he had absorbed, though it was by far the strongest. “Absorption... complete. Assimilation in progress” he spoke softly, his eyes closed for a brief moment. His glove has been built to draw in and seal away the essence of a Hollow after it’s soul passed on. This meant that it did not harm the spiritual balance, at least that was how he had designed it in the first place. With his ability to enslave reishi by using his Sklaverei, he was able to absorb the particles of the Hollow into his seal, so he could refine the particles and experiment once he got back home. When he was back at home, he would be able to take out the parts he would not need, compress the ones that worked and made into a more powerful whole.
What remained was to see how the other Quincy did in battle, for he would not bother stepping into a fight when a Hollow chose to engage. Vasto Lorde classed Menos were smart enough to know what they got themselves into, being smarter then the average human being or Shinigami. On the other hand, he did not want to step on the pride of this Quincy, believing it to be worth almost as much as a life was to some. Besides, maybe it would be funny to see how this guy fought, not seeing that many Quincy doing battle lately.

Ozuma would barley have anytime to truly think about what he was going to do in response of the hollow that attacked him, and so he let instincts take over. Ozuma would move his body in a slight angle so that the cero shot at him would fly right past him barley missing. Though this would allow for Ozuma to instantly react with his next attack, since this would lead the Hollow to instantly shoot another Cero. And when the hollow did this he would not be ready for Ozuma’s next attack. Since Ozuma had yet to actually put up his bow he would easily be able to fire another arrow. Though this would be no regular arrow it would be a Tsuineda move known as Kaunta-Atakku. This would be the Tsuineda counter attack. A move that only Tsuineda Quincy had learned to truly utilize in the way of combat.
As Ozuma fired the arrow it would go straight threw the cero that the hollow had just managed to fire at him. Though once the arrow entered the center it would start the special part of the technique, as the arrow using Ozuma’s Quincy energy would absorb the cero. This would then continue to go as the arrow would hit the hollow exploding on contact with not only Ozuma’s energy but the power of the Hollows Cero. Since if Ozuma’s arrow had not been red naturally one would have noticed the change in color of the arrow, as it became double coated with his and he hollows attack. And once he arrow exploded on contact and hit the hollow it would make a huge hole right where the hollows heart should be.
This would lead to the hollow instantly dropping to the ground as it started to dissolve, and become another lost soul. Ozuma could only wonder when these hollows would learn that they were no match for the Quincy race. And if they kept on trying they would just continue to become lost souls. Even though hollows become lost souls did not bother Ozuma it did bother those that called themselves Soul reapers, as it was their job to create balance with the souls. And if the Quincy kept killing the hollows it would cause the scale to tip. Though Ozuma could care less about the scale he just didn’t won’t to have to worry about the last of his kind being hunted down because of something as stupid as hollows.
Ozuma could also notice that the other Quincy had defeated the hollow that had attacked him as well. Though Ozuma noticed that he had managed to do it without even breaking a sweat and doing something special with his glove after he had finished, even though this did not matter to Ozuma he would still ask a question or two if he got the chance. Though Ozuma could tell that the man was looking at him, this was not surprising to Ozuma as Quincy were not a big thing around these parts as their race had almost been destroyed. So the man was probably just not use to seeing one of his kind fight. Though then again Ozuma was sure most people were not use to seeing a Quincy fight.
“So I see you managed to defeat your hollow in a matter of seconds, but what was that strange thing you did with your glove. It sounded like you said absorption complete when you finished it. Though I’m not sure as I was busy as you saw.” Ozuma would only hope that the many would answer and not walk away again, but then Ozuma realized he forgot one thing. Ozuma would then quickly blurt out. “I’m sorry I forgot my manners and did not introduce myself. I am Ozuma Tsuineda, a member of the Tsuineda clan I’m sure you know. Though I have never seen or met you before so there is a possibility you don’t know my family. But I’m sure you have heard of us as we are one of the biggest Quincy family’s left. “

Hmm, this person seemed to be a little bit odd, though he figured that in a world of spirits and monsters, there was no longer really such a thing as normal. After he had taken care of the Hollow, he once again activated his glove in order to draw in the particles it slowly dissolved into, figuring he might as well put them to good use now that the creature had been killed. As the particles slowly got absorbed by the glove, the second Hollow completely disappeared from the face of the earth. Another powerful Hollow he could use to experiment on, maybe this one had enough power to tie the entire structure he had been working on together more tightly. Truly, the refining and sewing together of Reishi was a hard task, though it was one he gladly worked with. It allowed him to learn more about the various life forms that dwelled inside of the spirit world while gaining a much deeper respect for the races he got to look into, in every sense of the word. He was not the kind of crazy scientist one would find in a place like Las Noches or the Sereitei, though he did what he had to in order to further his own powers. Pure Quincy like him had the potential to rise much further then the other Quincy that either chose to follow different ideals or some form of religion, something Hitoshi shunned in every form. He hated religion and would not allow something so trivial to hold him down in his pursuit of greater understanding of the spiritual worlds and beings.
“First things first, I have never heard of a Quincy family outside of the one I grew up to, so a name like Tsuineda does not ring any bells. Then again, things like that don’t interest me all that much, I think most of the other races are much more interesting at the moment. Look around you, feel the spirit rich air blow past you, the sand on which you stand shift as you walk. This world is a playground to people like us, though a lot of you people do not yet understand the full potential that’s inside of you. It’s a shame really” he said, being somewhat saddened by the close mindedness of some Quincy, which was just why he had so little respect for these so called Quincy families. He too came from a long line of Quincy, going back as far as the second world war, maybe even further, though that was the first recorded member of his family. Despite the things his family had done in the past, he was still proud to be a descendant of the Bardawulf family. Having once worked with Hitler during the second world war, surviving the Quincy massacre at the hands of the Soul reapers, fighting alongside Juhabach during the attack on the Soul society, they had been part of it all. These great families had most likely not even been asked to join in on something so large scaled as the Vandenreich invasion, and even if they had, they would most likely have been to afraid to come out of their hiding place and stand up to the Shinigami oppression that had forced them down for so long.
Hitoshi held no hate in his heart for the Soul society, nor for the Hollow race that had slain his mother and father a couple of years ago, believing that it was not a good thing to hold a grudge against an entire race, rather then at the person responsible. If more people were like him in terms of his lack of racism, the world would most likely be doing a whole lot better, heck, every dimension would be a whole lot better off. Now, he had to be careful about what he shared with this guy, preferring to keep the information and progress he had made to himself, and only himself. Hitoshi was going to succeed in slowly becoming the strongest Quincy, mastering the various skills that opened themselves up to him while creating things of his own along the way. One of these things was his new glove, the one this Quincy had seen in action, an advancement of the artefact used to contain the power of a Shinigami Zanpakutō, one of which he was wearing on his other hand. “And yes, I am doing something with my glove, it’s called collecting research material for my studies. My glove is used to store and collect, though that’s about all I am willing to share right now because I already told you too much” he said, cutting off that end of the conversation as quickly as possible so as to preserve any leaking of information by him saying too much.
Shrugging his throat, it seemed like the best thing at this point to just move on to the next topic that might draw the attention away from his equipment. Perhaps if he further continued along the path of somewhat scolding the Quincy family, he could most likely push things in a different direction even more if he in some way managed to hurt the name of the impure Quincy families all together. “My name is Hitoshi Hikaru, one of the few true Quincy left in our world. Most of the Quincy families have no idea what it’s like outside of their hiding places in the big city, because they believe that it’s safe for people like us. Let me tell you, they are wrong, because when this war with Hell and Hueco Mundo ends and the side of “good” wins, who do you think the Soul society will put it’s leash on yet again?” he said with a proud ring to his voice, because that was what he was. He was not lying about the things he said, believing that it was only a matter of time before they would be targeted again. He did not blame to Soul society, though he felt like it was not really their place to torment those with good intentions. Now, he would wait and see how this guy would take his words.
