The Violin's Echo Empty The Violin's Echo

Thu Dec 06, 2012 5:58 pm
The sound of an artist filled the air, the sweet lullaby of the Violin seemed into the down town streets, it was a beautiful song. A Captain at this time played the tune for the people around him, some money was given. But he returned it with a smile, as he continued to play this instrument. He wore a sweater vest over his chest with a dress shirt under it, wearing a fine pair of gray pants. He was dressed like one with money, he was quite the contradiction, people wandered past. As the song continued on, deepening and making more sound as he waited. His Zanpakutō was upon the ground by him, though most knew him to not need it in combat. His sword and he were still reconnecting, his day so long ago where he lost his sanity and became that being of madness who attacked like a hollow. His song began to continue telling a story and painting the picture, his eyes of blue slowly slid open to gaze around, before closing them once more. Continuing on with his story, he moved the bow across the instrument now, he lowered it finishing his performance. He sat the object down and grabbed his Zanpakutō, looking at the blade.

He sat down, holding it within his left hand waiting to see if he would need to draw the weapon, to accelerate the blade and slice these beings into nothing. Masamune wasn't one for all this work and showing off, he wondered if Gandhi ever felt like he'd failed his cause, he believed in avoiding conflict. Whenever he could, but also bloodshed and that time still haunted him as a Shinigami. He was no better then a hollow, his attention was snapped off of what he was doing for a moment. Raising his right hand, he pointed his index finger out at a creature running towards him. Just a hollow, boy it had picked it's target wrong. Hala was shot at it, the bright blue blast shot through it's mask and killed it almost instantly. He'd not even done anything really, he sighed sitting down and enjoying the traffic and sounds of this place. Music really wasn't being shown it's natural order of things in this day and age.

Bellatrix Soan, Little Sister of Stefan
... I don't really.. if I have to. I will.
The girl couldn't touch much : but her fingers wrapped around that shaft of a pole, remembering what she learned in her body. It was almost instinct, as she heard the howling creature once more. The black haired girl looked from side to side, and then her body pushed forward, running. It was exhausting : she knew she had to conserve her energy as much as possible, but right now, it was either kill or be killed, as her breath was hissing in her chest, like a burning feeling. She still felt very much alive, but yet, she understood something else. She was dead, of course, but she had survived for a long time without succumbing to either after death options. That very will was strong, as she kept running, hearing the hollow's howl. Karakura was safe from invading hollow but it had the boxed in effect : when someone died and became a hollow, it made the streets dangerous. But usually not for long : there were a lot of people here able to cast away hollows. It was surprising, but the girl kept running, her breath hissing.

The pole was shaking with the effort, as she dipped behind a garbage dump. That's when she heard the sounds of a scuffle : closing her eyes, she could hear a sword. It was a Zanpakto : a broadsword type too. She could tell by the rings of the metal against the hollow, and the swish of air. She knew blades, so very well : it was uncanny how the plus knew blades. Her mother had a line of blacksmiths in her blood, tracing so very far back to other countries : and her father.. had come into her life a swordsman, and wandered out one. The girl glanced over the dump, to see the combat : though it was too far. She just had good hearing, but with a push, she was off running away, quiet as a mouse. That was also in her blood : but that was the crux of the thing. She lived by the sword, and wished she had died by it : but that didn't matter. She was alright.

She had escaped again, tension leaving her, as she began to rest, the pole still by her side, held like a blade. Live and die by the sword : the blades are your companions, for a sword never betrays a loyal master. The blade is but your will extended, and with it, your purpose is clear. So she is lost : that much was evident.. for she had no blade. She had no will. What a sordid state of affairs. A sudden sound had her body tense : she cursed for letting herself relax too early, as she waited, for the figure that had made such a sound. She would not speak, but shrink in the shadows, wishing to disappear briefly from them. If only to get away : not a coward, but strategic retreat was also part of the sword, for a broken blade was more shameful then retreat.

Her body moved, and found herself closer to the street. What startled her the most? The sound of a violin, as her gaze blinked. She hadn't heard one of those.. and it sounded beautiful. The girl could even recognize the melody ; the Devil's Trill. Curiously, she wandered closer, but stayed out of sight. The howl startled her, as suddenly, a bright blast killed it, as it was heading towards her hiding spot. The girl fell out of said spot, scrambling on the pavement. Surprised, she just stared at where the hollow was, holding the pipe closer to her, no matter how difficult she was. Then, out of her reverie, she stood up, holding the pipe like she would a sword ; defensively and ready to block if needed. She needn't let her guard, although.. she wasn't quite sure what was going on. Her blue eyes betrayed how lost she was.

She was really, really lost man.

Masamune's eyes opened as he finished playing the Devil's Trim, he handled the peace with ease and confidence. He picked up his sword, walking forward towards the girl with the pipe. "You look as though you need help, I wouldn't mind helping you if you want..." Masamune held his Zanpakutō within his hand, the hollow whom he turned into ash was nothing but a bug. A bug that was causing him problems though, so when he turned it into nothing but dirt. That was his answer, he was smiling warmly as he looked down at the female. He offered to the female a hand now, he glanced around as though taking in the area. Sure she didn't have to trust him, he had finished playing the Devil's Trim before coming to her, in his opinion his performing of it was perfect. But he loved complicated and beautiful pieces like that. They held so much more soul to them, no one really could understand it he noticed. "I suspect the hollow was trying to devour your soul, if you'd like we can try to prevent that from happening and perform a sending."

Once he got hold of her hand he simply lifted her to her feet. Waiting for her answer, he still held his violin and bow within his digits. The male was a gifted musician and it was a hobby of his that he was extremely fond of, their was nothing wrong with enjoy the natural fruits of the labor spent at learning it. His blonde hair moved around as he seemed to be watching carefully for another one to arrive. Masamune was careful about these sorts of things. He'd heard what sounded like a conflict before, though it wasn't anything he planned to concern himself with. He could perform a ritual and make this female a Shinigami, this wasn't a hard task. Perhaps she would want this, he glanced at the pipe and spoke softly yet kindly. "Those don't often work on hollows, you see it requires a spiritual energy to destroy them."

... I don't really.. if I have to. I will.
The male approached her, holding out his hand. The girl kept herself guarded, as she wanted to back away, but she was seemingly stuck into place. The girl felt the male come close enough to touch her, and she recoiled. Then he said a sending; Bellatrix had a faint idea of what that was, and the girl knew exactly that she hated that idea! The male took her hand, and pulled her up, as she almost started fighting. But the girl was very shy and submissive, as she just shuffled her feet around. He seemed very nice and kind, which wasn't too troublesome typically, but Bellatrix had a mission to do, something to finish. It had been four hundred years; four long hundred years of searching for where her blade had gone. And now this male wanted to send her back? The girl began to back away, and without much of a warning, her steps echoed on the concrete. Her breath was quick and fast, as she was aiming to get away; most didn't expect for her to run as fast as she did. Honestly, she was a pretty quick gal, even when she was alive, and 400 years as a plus had taught her how to use her body in a easier way. Her feet ran alongside the pavement, as her breaths were hissed in and out; she had to get away from this man, he was just as dangerous as the big black things! The girl kept running, until she heard a howl. Without warning, a giant hollow slinked up before her, numerous tentacles pulling a large, sluggish body along. The black haired girl didn't seem to be phased, as she held her pipe for herself, and took in a breath. The first tentacle that came was deflected; the girl had parried it, and was running towards the monster.

Bellatrix knew she couldn't hurt it, but she could confuse it. ''HIYAAAAAAAAAAAAH!'' came out the girl's voice, a strong burst of sound. That was almost unusual for her tiny frame, as she swiped, hit the thing in the face, and then jumped up on it's body, leaving the pipe to clatter down. She kept running, and jumped off the hollow's back, seeing an alley. She turned right into it; the Soan had made it out of there! The girl felt victory in her chest, and then suddenly the world was upside down; a tentacle had grabbed her ankle and was dragging her back to the monster. She didn't even scream to her credit, just struggled with her hands. Her fingers lifted up, as she tried pulling the tentacle off; but the girl felt the tears gather up in her riveting blue eyes. She didn't want to be eaten, not here, not now! She had to get away some how, find her sword, and then she could decide what to do with herself! The four links of her chain swayed in the light, as the girl struggled a bit harder, trying to keep herself from being eaten. Her eyes were focused; there was fear, of course, but there was a stronger determination. She would not die so easily now! She was a Soan, she lived by the sword and dammit, she would not die any other way then by it!

    That was her choice, right!?

Masamune's gaze remained on the creature now, holding his eyes upon the beast's form it was something he decided upon dealing with now. The girl had some courage, he readied the bow of his violin and seemed like he would be using this was going to be fun. He looked at the tentacles coming his way now he touched his Zanpakutō when he saw the danger she was in he, vanished now using speed of a Captain. His reiatsu coming out of his weapon as he slashed several times with his sword, so fast that the girl may not of been able to keep up, the tentacle got cut seven to eight times, the creature's body got hit twelve times all over. He walked away sheathing his Zanpakutō, not impressed by it. He returned to his position now, he'd planned on leaving the Gotei 13 today. He'd gotten his letter informing him that he was replaced by a Damien Soan as Captain. However this matter didn't bother him to much, the male simply picked up his Violin and continued. He began playing the Devil's Trim once again.

The melody of memory playing across his digits as he remembered the past when he was a Captain. Masamune was a talented and strong Captain of his time, anyone could tell someone about the Fang's powers and prowess as a Captain. Who knew what was next for the male, his reiatsu was highly impressive still. Masamune also held an age that was far older then his appearance, but his maturity was something anyone could see. His digits moved now as he smirked softly and awaited the female's next reaction. She said no to a sending so what else was left for him to do, if she wanted more from Masamune she would need to ask him for it.

... I don't really.. if I have to. I will.
Bellatrix struggled, but then her instinct told her to stay still. Something was coming and fast, without warning, as her fingers closed on themselves. The creature let out a howl; and the male moved fast, almost too fast for Bella's eyes. In fact, it was too fast for the plus, but the girl had something that many underestimated; she was a practiced sword user! Her eyes didn't really see the blade, but she heard it; each swing was stark in her memory, as she remembered the blade, the swords, and how it all worked. Yes, her life had been lived as such; her death was surely a tragedy, as she let out a breath, feeling the tentacles disintegrate, letting her fall towards the ground. Her eyes were closed the tears that she couldn't help floating behind, before she felt something; snapping her eyes open, she saw it. Her sword! This hollow.. had eaten it. Falling, she stretched out her hand, and took a hold of that blade, wrapping her fingers around it. Gritting her teeth, the girl felt that it didn't matter if the fall hurt; she had to finish this creature off. In fact, it seemed like the black garbed male had held off on actually killing it, unlike the other one that had chased her. It struggled, but the girl's short hair, black in colour, almost seemed blue in the light. Her fingers drew the blade; and slowly, it swung, the arcs of the weapon almost like a dancing petal in the wind. It may have seemed slow to the male, but definitely, it had a beauty and grace that few got to behold. It bit into the spiritual creature, it writing, as she used it's body to land; and then, the blade danced, wreaking havoc on it, before it began to disintegrate.

The girl landed on the ground shortly, sheathing her blade. A smile had touched her face now; she had found the thing she had been looking for, even as the male kept playing the violin. Any fear she had felt had been dissipated, by the retrieval of her blade. The girl walked towards the male, closing her blue eyes, probably looking odd with her school uniform, and the long blade held in her hand. She stopped in front of him, and bowed deeply, trying to hide her face behind her hair. ''T-thank you.'' she muttered very lowly. It would make sense for her to not have found her blade this long, if it had been eaten by the creature she had helped slay. It was still moving, but slowly, all of it's aspects were disappearing; was that pitiful? Maybe. But in the end, it was just something that had to happen; such a thing could not exist much further, as the girl lifted her head, and looked up at the sky. She was no longer a failure; but would she want to move on? The Sending; it had sounded like sending her somewhere. The girl's fingers tightened around the sword, frowning a bit. She knew a lot of her family was out there; were they dead too? Her mother had spoken of her father as a traveling man; it wouldn't surprise the girl to learn he had other children then her. She was a girl though; had that been a shame for him? Or had he even seen her birth? She had very fuzzy memories, but she knew one thing; her mother, no matter how strict, had loved her.

But why was she alone right now, why was she without anyone to love or care for, as sadness creeped in her blue eyes. She wasn't ready for the world yet.. was she?

Masamune ceased his playing his eyes examing the female to her core, he wasn't a genius of swordsmanship by any sense of the word. Masamune was a Kidō specialist one capable of doing things beyond the normal sense of it. He didn't bother using Kidō this time however, his eyes stared at the female for now before he watched her and decided to speak. Something soft and almost calming about his voice. Masamune was a puzzle of a man, he seemed rather young but it was something more about the young adult like male whom could seem to capture the attention of those whom looked closely enough. "You know, they will come again I can send you to a place where you can become strong..The choice is yours, you are welcome I did what I could for you." Masamune's sword remained sheathed he now rested it on his hip. Putting away his Violin into a case that would allow him to play it later. He was a fine muscian but this was his art. He smiled softly as he looked on now, observing the town with a sigh. He'd gotten a report not to long ago he was being put as a Vice Captain.

But it didn't matter to Masamune, Head Captain Yamamoto had erased his crime due to the dirty dealing that had happened to Shiro. Now all that was left for him was to see what this Captain had. Perhaps she would be one greater then anyone could imagine, only the future would hold the truth in this.

... I don't really.. if I have to. I will.
Her head tilted up, as the male seemed to be concerned for her. Why was this person concerned for her? She felt a bit confused at this, before she tilted her head, and then realized what he was asking of her; she had just found her sword too! And now.. if she was sent away.. she'd lose it. ''I'll lose my sword..'' she muttered, as she clutched it to herself. She didn't want to lose it when she had just gained it! The girl felt her eyes tear up, as she held it close to her body, before taking in a breath. She didn't want to.. and she figured out with a nod, that she had to do so. Else wise she would become one of those, didn't she? The girl let out another whimpering sound; the feel of separating from her blade.. it would be like if this man got separated from his violin for a long period of time. She didn't know if he could understand that, as her riveting blue eyes looked up to him. ''I.. I can't lose this again. I'll be so ashamed..'' she said to him, extremely shyly, feeling her face turn into a redder blush. Yeah, she was right; if she did lose it, she would feel so ashamed of herself. After all, her mother had told her that the sword was the most important thing in her life. It was what she had lived by and trained by all of this time.. but she couldn't just pass it off as useless now.

''Please.. mister.. hold my sword? If I am to go there.. if I am to be a shinigami.. my pride as a Soan.. I have to keep that sword. Will you give it to me if I get stronger?'' she asked, her eyes staring at him beautifully. At the word Soan, it would become obvious; although she herself didn't know, the girl was related to a man named Stefan Soan, a vizard that is in charge of the Monsuta. But she herself did not know this; her eyes were wide and innocent; considering she spent the last four hundred or relatively so years wandering for her sword.. it was a miracle she was not a hollow. The girl felt her fingers reach out, and offer the blade to him, as if a knight offering the sword to their sovereign. It was something beautiful and yet sacred, as the girl felt her body tremble. She didn't want to be rejected.. she didn't want to become such an ugly thing, therefore she had to come forward, and become stronger. That was something she had to do; to honor her dead mother, even find her, or to find some of her family, that her father had sown. How many brothers did she have? How many sisters? She ached to know about these things. And yet.. she couldn't do so at the strength she was now. She had to become stronger; much stronger, as she felt her teeth grit.

She had to get stronger then she ever possibly imagined!

Masamune nodded softly as he took hold of the Sword for her, he observed her now as he held on to the weapon for the girl. He brought his Zanpakutō out getting ready to perform it for her. He seemed to be a nice person, so few knew about Masamune's inner demons. The man had done things that so many people wouldn't understand, he wondered what she would think about trusting a weapon to such a being as him. Masamune was young to most appearances and often didn't seem to show signs of being anything but a young Captain. His eyes of icy color seemed to remain focused as he performed the sending for the young female, she would join in Soul Society. The Devils Trim seemed to be the only fitting song to send her off too, Masamune remained silent. He picked up his violin now, getting ready to play as he smiled faintly. Beginning to play the song now as he let his fingers guide along on the path of the Devils Trim, the song so few could master and play with such skill. Masamune brought it forth as though a suit.

Though he was quiet at the moment of her sending, he played this melody for her. Masamune was known to some as perhaps one of the gifted Shinigami of his generation, he was fairly old but some of the current Captains were fierce and to some extent dangerous creatures whom didn't need naming. One was called Damien Soan or Crow, he'd founded his own clan making himself the first being that came into the true nature of things. Masamune had heard stories recently about the man's habits and drinking so he wasn't to impressed by the nature of things. But one thing was clear, this girl could become a Shinigami if she so desired. The trim echoed on, down the streets and through this place. The Down Town sound seemed to be drowned out by the melody of the Devil's Trim as he played the song, after this last one he would be exiting and heading to his Division where he had some report waiting for him. Masamune rarely did come here, but he spent a long time here just hiding from the facts.

The past felt like a memory that he and his beloved Zanpakutō would go through day after day for the future wouldn't let them rest on their heels, the future needed them. However briefly it was going to be. They would guide this future as the Trim continued onward. And the sky cleared, the stars in it almost able to be seen at this point in time.

... I don't really.. if I have to. I will.
The girl's hopes were not to be dashed as easily as waves on rocks. The male seemed to understand this, as she noted how young he looked; her eyes widened a little; to her, he seemed way older, and way stronger. But now she that could look at him? It seemed that he was much younger then she thought; surprisingly so. The girl felt her cheeks blush a little bit; she was a bit caught off guard by this, regardless of the fact that her entire life had been matriarchal. But she knew that the world was not as such; and it didn't bother her as much as it should perhaps. The male softly took the blade, the source of her consternation for this long, her beautiful blue orbs staring up at him. ''Thank you.'' she said softly, a smile on her gentle lips, as his blade was drawn. She could only watch the blade, her breath caught, her heart beating in her chest. She could tell that blade was something unique; her eyes were almost fixated on it, staring at the blade as she understood. He was a shinigami; someone that prided themselves in a sword; she had heard that name come along a long time, as these days, a plus was less unusual then it used to be. A chatty young boy told her a few things about the world; and she remembered how she wanted to find the blade, the one one of those monsters had taken from her.. and she had found it at least.

But now she had to leave it; she had already made peace with that. In fact, now she could put her energy to an entire new goal; her forehead felt the tap of the hilt of the blade. Her eyes, watery, closed, as she felt something race through her body. And the blade was moved; the mark of the Soul Society was on her forehead, as she felt a pure energy blast from her feet. She closed her eyes, letting the blueish white light take apart her spiritual body; feeling it's contents being not changed, but the seal that was on her, was being cut off, changed, and moved away. It became nothing; and there was no longer that pressure in the back of her mind, as her body became light, and gentle. She couldn't help but think that maybe she was going to a better place; opening her gaze, as her body was half-way gone, she smiled at the male, and then closed them again, at peace. The light swallowed her mind, and then her body became disintegrated; she had been sent to the Soul Society. That was obvious, as the area became calm after her sending, the blade given to the male almost peaceful at having been reunited with their mistress, and the promise. The strings pulled by the male were beautiful, as the stunning blade, clad in a non-assuming scabbard, was the only witness to that concert, and the only witness to many things afterwards.

And thus, began her new journey towards becoming a brand new shinigami.
