FALL EVENT: MADNESS CITY! Empty FALL EVENT: MADNESS CITY!

FIRST. ANY THREADS THAT ARE RELATED TO THE EVENT WILL HAVE Madness City: and THEN the name of the topic. TL;DR VERSION AT BOTTOM!

Who: ABSOLUTELY FREAKING EVERYONE

Where: Madenise (Mah de Niece) City, Antartica (Just a little ways past the penguins)

This is a city that came into existence in the late 2300's. It was an attempt to see if humans could adapt themselves to live in completely polar climates; even creating a city during the test. The test included a massive energy barrier, similar to the one around Karakura Central, that instead made the temperature bearable for the citizens within.

They both hunted and regularly received supplies from the outside world; and due to the lack of ANYTHING around them, they rarely had any problems whatsoever on a large scale. It was your typical city; there was internet, the government was made up of harmless idiots, and the lowly were always able to find some way to survive. That is, until recently...

When: Late September- Mid October on PH Calender

What: A madness plague has infected this entire city. It was strange; isolated at first just in the city's heart, in the hall of government. However, it was nothing strange when at first no one heard from the grand building for three days; it was assumed they were just having their normal summer ending bash, of which they took one day to get completely drunk and ready, another to enjoy the party, and the last day to truly recover from all their wild antics.

However, after the fourth day passed, and no one came out, the citizens began to get worried. They entered the doors and found nothing... but for one man, looking up at the small group that went in with a shattered glass of wine (Or was it blood?) in his hand and the biggest smile they had ever seen on his face, as he calmly stood up... and stabbed one of them with a glass shard, blood splattering everywhere among the group.

As they wondered back out of the doors into the city, spreading the infernal terror and madness, inside the building a strange triangle of flesh hummed, as the blood around it turned black and began to inch towards the triangle, sucked inside of it as it began to grow, ever so slightly...

Meanwhile, the madness had spread throughout the city. People afraid of what was going to happen to them felt its effects just being in the air; going mad all of their own accord. Madness of all kinds sprang up; the violent mad killed the meek mad and the happy mad and all the other kinds without them putting up a fight; after all, the one thing the madness had in common... was that it took away one's fear.

However, one man, the only spiritually powered of any of the small town of Madenise, Antartica, raced out a mile from where the city was. He could feel himself on the edge of the madness as he constructed a signpost from wood that he brought with himself, even as he could see the snow behind him rapidly melting, as something moved ever closer to him. He wrote on the sign, and as the snow vanished around him, he took the knife he used to carve into the wood and brought it to his throat, closing his eyes as a wide smile came to his face and he plunged his arms, ending his own life rather than giving up into the madness, the ultimate act of bravery.

Some two months later, a wide signal went out that hit every major organization. No one quite knows who left the signal; the voice was constantly breaky and unidentifiable; in fact, if someone were able to track by voice, they would find that the being did not even exist. However, every known organization received word of it... A recording of the sign with the voice in the background.

The sign was simple; the man had not had much time. The view was of a bare landscape, with a simple wood signpost sticking out of the ground with writing on it. The sign said

Do not enter! Madness takes us all! DO NOT ENTER!

And the voice in the background was simple.

"This city, Madenise, Antartica, has been destroyed... and yet not. How is this possible...? To find out, you will have to investigate. There will be great power here soon... For all whom enter... and who knows...? You may even leave perhaps a pinch madder than you came!"

Together, these two points illustrated many things. It would draw those who were curious, those who desired power, those who wanted to challenge themselves, and those who would be attracted to all the others that would come...

How/Why: This will be an interesting feat. The ultimate goal of anyone who enters this city is to reach the main government building at its center; after all, that is what has caused this disturbance.

The good guys will be aiming to destroy it due to its threat level. If the triangle continues to grow, it could spread throughout the continent, into the water all around, into the fish, and even passed onto the rest of the planet from there. This is a large scale threat; but as for its actual danger level right now, it is very low.

The bad guys will be after the triangle for another reason. Anyone that enters the city has the potential to be infected by madness. This can happen one of two ways. Either the person becomes terrified in the city, which will activate the madness in the air around them; or they have the blood of the afflicted enter them. Once the madness is inside a body, it spreads like wildfire, coursing through them as it affects all parts of their being. Now, the reason the bad guys would want this to happen to them is the fact that once the triangle is destroyed, any of their comrades afflicted would become sane once more as they were originally; as well as gaining a significant boost of power over their normal.

However, there are some other factors involved. The triangle itself cannot be moved from the spot it originally came from; it is stuck there. It is like a plant; should it become derooted by an IMMENSE amount of power, it would shrivel up and explode all the blood it has collected around the city as it released the chains of madness from anyone it afflicted. It's also interesting to note that even if the entire building around it is blown to pieces, it will still be standing, as the ground under it; the ground beneath it has as strong of durability as it does. It's durability is somewhere between that of a master and grandmaster; it is going nowhere fast.

In addition is the madness it puts inside of people. This merely causes them to act in a way that they never would normally; not essentially in a violent manner. However, they will fear nothing while like this; in addition to that, they will lose their desire to harm the triangle in the city's center; and as an effect, have a permanent wide smile on their face, like below.

There are... two ways; two ways only outside of death that the madness can be broken. This is because of the fact that as soon as the madness enters the body of a person, it spreads to every single part of them, instantaneously; through blood, through mind, through soul, through energy; all of it. The first is with the triangle's influence over the area removed. The second is the person that it has afflicted completely draining themselves of their spirit pressure. This means that even if someone is infected in their blood; if they resist to the point they have no energy left; have someone convince them on a deeper level to use it all up, or become completely exhausted while fighting, they will cease their madness. In addition, they will still receive the bonus of the triangle if it is destroyed, as long as they stay within the city limits.

Even though it takes place in Antarctica, it doesn't mean that it has unbearable cold. Quite the opposite, really; travelling there will be the coldest part, but once you go past the signpost, you will find yourself on solid, warm ground. This is a result of the device that controls the climate of the city; the same device that the triangle is currently attached to. In addition, once you enter the climate of the city, you have placed yourself at a risk of madness, either by someone giving it to you through their blood or by terror. An interesting side note: should someone leave the barrier while mad, the madness stays within them; but does not affect their behavior outside of the barrier. Once they reenter the barrier, it reactivates; and they become mad once more. However, if they are out of the city limits when the triangle is destroyed, they will go back to normal completely, but receive no kind of bonus.

SO, ON THAT NOTE...

LET THE MADNESS BEGIN!

(TL;DR Big city in Antartica. Black stuff makes people go crazy despite resistances for the most part. All peoples are going to the city to find out about it as it is a huge threat. Involved are lots of battles and potentials for plots. Overall, just have a ball in this (Sunny?) and very strange city!)

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
