Galatine [Daigoro Ito]
Tue Sep 04, 2012 2:24 pm
Equipment
- Item Name: Galatine; The Reborn Sword of Victory
- Item Type: Single-Person: Currently belongs to Daigoro Ito
- Used For: Offensive Attacks
- Item Description: Galatine is the shining sword possessed by Daigoro Ito--often thought of as the sister sword of Excalibur, having originally been owned by the same predecessor. It is not as well-known as a holy sword, due to being in Excalibur's shadow. While Excalibur collects the lights from the planet, Daigoro Ito's holy sword is said to represent the rays of heat from the sun.
Able to be easily-summoned into battle, Galatine is a weapon that can be normally used, as if it were a Sacred of its own. Every four posts, Dai can launch a small salvo of approximately 10 energy attacks, each about the strength of a Hadō 15. This is done by charging and swiping the sword.
However, this weapon comes into its own under very certain conditions. In order for Daigoro Ito to fully use this weapon to its potential, these must be fulfilled: - The battle must be taking place under the light of a sun, or there must be adequate light from the sun around Dai.
- He must not have the advantage--he can be taking advantage when he uses the ability, but he can't be overwhelming the opponent with a chance of victory.
- The opponent must not be using a Holy Sword of their own--Galatine's power would clash and be ignored.
- It must not have been used in this way at all during the thread.
- Daigoro must be in Zenou at the very least, in order to supply it with the necessary grounding and prevent himself from being consumed by the backblast (A use of this cannot be mimicked by Nise Kokubo or Vulcan's Forge)
- He cannot be moving when preparing and striking, and he must have use of both of his hands.
- Obtained From: It's unknown, where exactly this weapon came from. It's believed that Dai may have found it on the shores of a strange lake, with his name etched into the sand. He thinks it may have been meant for him, but he never knew why, especially not at the time. This was approximately 250 years in the past.
- Notes: Nyet.
The concept based around Galatine is that of "Reborn Victory", or in more expanded terms: "Taking Victory Back From The Edge Of Defeat", meaning that it could possibly turn the tables in a battle that looks bleak for Dai. Raised high up into the air in order to gather as much of the sun's energy as possible, the sword begins to glow with a great and bright white light, almost on par in power and brightness with Excalibur itself. When the blade is swung down, a great band of light is fired forwards for approximately 200 feet, being 20 feet in diameter. The light itself isn't what damages anything in its path, however. Within the light is a great deal of energy that was released in a single instant and injected into every molecular bond within the area that is shown by the light. This causes an extreme amount of molecular separation; everything that is made of normal molecules or spiritual particles without any real spiritual energy is vaporized in an instant. Beings with power are able to hold onto their bodies, however weaker opponents may find themselves grievously injured. More powerful opponents are able to resist the destructive nature, but are still highly likely to be injured or damaged in some way. The energy release has a powerful blowback as well, which can cause problems for any beings standing within five feet of Daigoro's back. If they're standing directly behind him and holding onto his body it's possible that they'll survive, but anything else is dangerous.
Although this blast from Galatine uses a rather moderate amount of energy despite the damage, it's an ace-in-the-hole with too great a potential to destroy. If Daigoro's used it with bad timing, or the time that it needs to be used the most comes with unfavorable conditions, then it becomes useless as a way to regain victory. Careful consideration of battle is a must.
