[All-Star] The Gauntlet of Okabe Rinatarou Rex

So the male was scared. That happened. But still : this place was foreign, as his cloak wished and whirled around him. His gaze looked around, almost as if afraid for a moment, but it calmed down. There was this sense of peace, as he looked up, his gaze caressing the sky with such a gentle and blessed look. He was happy to be alive, as he closed his swirling blue eyes, and breathed out. The blonde stands of his hair wavered in the wind, as he touched his blade, the thing slung on his back. It was a comfort thing, as the male just continued his walk. This area was massively dead : there was nothing here. Just a desert : like the way he talked maybe? The male shook his head, as the noon sun shone in the sky : he was coming here for a purpose, but he could not remember which. That must have been the aliens. There was concern at the lack of life around here, and he really hoped no soul was lost. If so, he may have to help. His quest was of no particular goal : so helping someone may be useful. He wished he had a steady companion : just so that something broke the silence. But as always, there was the saying of watch what you wish for. Because you might just get it. |

He'd received the word; the challenge was his. A simple note with one statement on it that had changed his mind about entering this district. 'Gauntlet'. Grinning quietly to himself, he approached the destination that he had felt his way towards, looking through the streets with a quiet and thoughtful eye. Apparently, his first opponent was supposed to be wearing green. He wasn't even sure of who he would be facing, or even who brought this entire thing out. Gauntlet... he really had to wonder exactly what that meant. One enemy? One weak enemy, one strong enemy... or was it more than one? Was that what was fated to occur...? Was he meant to fight one, two, three, maybe even a hundred enemies in order to prove his dominance? Clicking his tongue quietly, Okabe placed hands into his pockets as he skulked through the streets with a sharp expression on his face. "Where are you...?" Turning a corner revealed his prize to him. Aha. Green.
It was noon. First thing you had to know with that. It was noon, so the sun was high in the sky. The tall buildings surrounded him, and that was why he was slightly wary. There were many hiding spots and many places fora singular enemy to come out of. So the shadows of the buildings that merged with the verdant light caused a strange glow to cover his newfound quarry. Smiling softly, he stepped into a particularly strong ray of light and smirked. "Apparently, I am meant to fight somebody. They're meant to be wearing green, and have a slightly spiritual aura to them. Would you happen to know... or possibly even be that person?" This child did not feel as strong as most, and that worried Okabe somewhat. He didn't want to kill anyone. He was just told that he had to beat the 'Gauntlet'.
Only a murderer would kill a kid...

Link was startled. A voice? Turning around, his blade whipped out. It was out of caution : the bones in front of him attested to that. Wether it was a construct to make them feel ill at ease, or if it was a real person that got lost, Link couldn't tell. The blade was of caution : those blue eyes narrowed as they ran about the frame of the one close to him. Slowly lowering the blade, but keeping it in his hand, the green capped adventurer looked at him thoughtfully. And then a shrug, the male just looked at the other. 'Possibly' was what that shrug meant, the meaning absolutely crystal clear. It was unable to be mistaken otherwise. And slowly, the male drew his shield closer, and steadied his blade, going into a defensive, but yet offensive stance. One that could shift into both when needed. 'If you want, I will be.' was the statement of the stance. But Link would not move without approval : his high sense of honour would not allow that. Death was not an option, even in this zone, and even though he was often pegged as the first of the gauntlet, the male felt somewhat ashamed. He had no idea how many were coming, or how many would fight : but it was his duty to be the first gate, and so he would be, dependant on the person before them. After all, he would not strike unfairly : he would use the best of his abilities to fight, but should he lose, he would take the loss and move on. Because that was the path he had chosen. |
