The Forests of Beatdowns (OPEN, LEN IS 5-2) Empty The Forests of Beatdowns (OPEN, LEN IS 5-2)

Len was walking through the forest, about a quarter of a mile from the border of Karakura central. Rin was walking along side him, her hands behind her head and her eyes staring up at the sky. They had been quite bored, as Len was bored, and since Rin WAS Len, she was bored as well. So they had decided to go on a hike in the woods. Len wasn't sure how much he would be able to protect himself; he barely even understood how Rin existed, and how he could now shoot blasts similar to what Yuki had used on him out of his hands. I wonder if I'm an alien… or maybe even a superhero! Yeah, like in Dragon Ball Z! He thought, punching a fist out with a smile on his face. Even in 2412, it was still possible to find really old anime online through his tablet for him to view. He wasn't sure why, but he liked anime around the 2000 area the best of all. Yeah… if only I could be like those Shonen guys… but I don't even know how to use this… He thought, looking at the strange blade that he had attached to his hip.

This was the same blade that he had gotten for his "birthday." This had raised many questions to him, like who it came from, how they even knew him, how they knew his birthday, if that was his REAL birthday, if they were related to him, as well as others. He had long given up the hope of having a real family, and even this barely raised his hopes. So far, he'd only used the sword for cutting out weeds or cutting butter, but hadn't used it for anything else yet. He did, however, notice that whenever he used the blade, he felt much stronger and filled with more purpose than normal. It was very strange; he didn't even know the true value or history of the blade he had strapped to him for defense.

Len looked over at Rin. He didn't fully understand her, either. She seemed to form from this weird "energy" inside of his body. However, he greatly appreciated her existence and glad she was alive. She lived with him in his apartment, sharing his meals and even his bed, although they were essentially the same person, as could be seen just by looking between them. So, he was taking a forest stroll, wondering who or what he was going to find on this strange day, Deathrender and Rin at his side…

Len's feet were hitting the ground in time with the music he was hearing, his feet moving out so that his foot was pointed upwards and slapped the ground as he slapped exactly on the rhythm. Rin was doing the same thing as well, mostly because she could hear the music that Len was listening to all the way over here. Len bopped his head from left to right as well, his eyes closed sa he just listened to the beat of his music. It was upbeat, powerful music, a remix of an ancient song about 7 Nations of some sort. Len liked it, it had a terrific bassdrum line. THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP is how It goes… He thought as he and Rin continued moving through the forest, their feet slapping against the soft ground; it had rained recently.

However, as they walked, Len began getting a weird feeling, like there was danger nearby. I sense… danger… I'm not sure how or why… I just… do… He thought to himself, resting his right hand onto Deathrender's hilt. As soon as he did, Rin began to get antsy, looking all around her as well. As Len's hand gripped the hilt, he felt the rush of… something go through his currently-powerless body. Yes, he was powerless at the moment; it took all of his strange, meager energies just to consciously form Rin. However, Deathrender's ability looked beyond that. The wielder of this blade's power speed were tripled fro m their normal, but so was the amount of damage that they received while using the blade. That was the ability that Len had no idea about; after all, he'd never taken any kinds of damage while using this sword before; most of time only using it to cut butter.

However, he'd learned so far AT LEAST to not stand still when he got these weird feelings, he dashed, holding the blade at his side, moving at inhuman-speeds thanks to Deathrender, going roughly eighty miles per hour as he shot into the forest, stopping, as he appeared before a man with quite strange hair…

Len stopped as he reached the man before him, his gaze downwards. He knew that Rin would be along shortly, but until then, he had bigger problems. Namely grabbing onto his stomach with both hands and slightly bending his waist forwards. Ack.. I went... way fast... He thought, his body unused to going such speed. After all, he had never used Deathrender while he was running before; he was still dizzy from going that fast. However, after a few moments, he settled, standing up straight, looking at the man before him.

"Erp… My apologies; I've never done that before… I never knew swords could make you so different…" He trailed off. Before Deathrender, he had never used a blade before; so he simply assumed that all blades made a person feel like they were moving faster than normal. He honestly had no skill with a blade; and his head turned as he heard crunch noises in the woods, Rin leaping out into their midst. She stood next to Len, staring at Redd, before pointing a finger at him.

"WERE YOU BULLYING LEN?" She said loudly, her eyebrows pointed down in a snarl, like a mother cat whose kittens had just been threated. She pointed a hand at the man, Len crying out "WAIT!" as the shot of energy from her hand shot out. It was fired at the ground right in front of the man, and Len found himself continually bowing in apology. However, the explosion… was roughly 6 inches in size. Then Rin spun around, grabbing Len by the shoulders. "COME ON, LEN, SNAP OUT OF IT! THIS GUY HAS GOTTA BE YOUR ENEMY! I MEAN, HE'S GOT A SWORD, AND A WEIRD CLOAK, AND AN AFRO! WHAT KIND OF NORMAL PERSON WALKS AROUND LIKE THAT?!?!" She exclaimed, right in Len's face. Rin and Len only knew what Len knew, and Len hadn't a clue what shinigami were. Len merely sighed, Rin releasing him. "F-Fine then, I guess." He said, holding Deathrender with both hands before him. He was able to lift the blade only for his maximum-human strength, his body made to be its natural human limit by its ability. He merely waited, his eyes on Redd, gulping down a mouthful of saliva, a small smile beginning to creep onto his face…

LEN, LEN, LEN, LEN-LEN-LEN WASHI

Len watched as the man tore towards him, Deathrender shooting up as he blocked the man's strike. This guy.. knows what he's doing! Len thought to himself as he watched Rin running at Redd from behind, Len clicking his tongue. He blinked, still holding back Redd as Rin grit her teeth, changing into a pure whitish-gold energy, shooting around behind Len and into the center of his back.

As this happened, all of Len's muscles hit their physical peak. He felt the strength under his arm as he threw up his arm, throwing away Redd's blade from himself, taking a leap back. [color:0ed1=E9AB17]"If you really want to fight; bring it on." He said, having ignored the man's (really, boy's) attempts at ignoring what he said. [color:0ed1=E9AB17]"After all, it takes two to tango." He said, a bit of a cocky smile on his face as he took a step in, bringing the blade up with both hands.

Suddenly, the blade was on the ground, having seemed like it vanished as Len slammed it down, Deathrender's tripling effect making it move through the air with a THWOOOSH noise as he cut down at Redd. However, Len hadn't been expecting it to go so fast, and he had to reaffirm his balance, pressing down a foot as he attempted to pull the sword out of the ground. It came, alright... and immediately threw Len back at the ground, tripling his speed as it did so, resulting in Len sprawled out on the ground. HOLY CRAP! He thought, raising his blade, doing anything he could to defend himself until he had a chance, any chance, to get back on his feet once again. His knees were pointing up, his elbows in the ground, and lifting his head up slightly, as he had braced himself for the impact. All he could do now was wait and watch; while he wanted to get up no matter what, he was no fool. He knew that if he should try to get up right now, it would lead to Redd having the advantage and cutting him down. That's something I DO NOT want. The thought raced through his mind as he held Deathrender before him, his hands shaking. However, they weren't shaking from fear.

They were shaking, from excitement....

LEN, LEN, LEN, LEN-LEN-LEN WASHI

Len could only watch as the man shot towards him, raising his blade high over his head as he began to bring it down. This won't end well...! He thought to himself as he closed his eyes tight, throwing his head down to dodge the blade, having spotted the outside of Redd's knee as he closed his eyes. He felt the teeth rattle in his skull as he slammed into the knee, the blood from his mouth, pouring from his lips, covering the other male's knee with the sticky red liquid as Len leaped back with all of his force, his feet touching down onto the ground before the man.

He reached up his left hand, wiping the side of his mouth as he sloshed around spit. Then he spit out the bloody stuff from the side of his mouth, clearing his mouth of his blood, his clear blue eyes shining in the shade of the trees around them as he gave a cry. "HRAAAAAH!" He cried out loudly, bringing Deathrender to one side and spinning as he slammed it forwards at that inhuman speed, putting all of his strength into the blow as he came around to face Redd once more, the blade going right for the man's chest. The tip of the blade, if it hit, would attempt to tear through Redd's skin, maybe even his ribcage as it passed over his heart, not attempting to hit it, but attempting to harm the space right in front of it. Len prepared himself for any blood that would spurt out, as he threw his legs down sharply, beginning... to just let his instincts take control.

He suddenly took a sharp step back, shifting the blade in his hand so that it was horizontal to the ground, the blade facing inwards to Len's left as he looked right at Redd, taking a large step forwards and pressing with his foot. He seemed frozen for a moment as his body's weight was beginning to move forwards, and his blade shot straight out, going directly for his opponent's heart. Len highly doubted he would hit; if he missed completely, he'd fall on his face, and he already knew this attack would sap him of the last of his strength. Nah. I'm hoping for a chance to REALLY prove myself; to cut this guy so bad he remembers it! And me! I don't care if I lose! One day... I'LL GET THIS GUY BACK! He decreed in his own mind, shutting his eyes tight as he pushed back and then opening their azure hues as he plunged himself forwards, crying out once more as his blade went directly at his foe.
