Use Splash Attack!

Make a Splash!
I need a warm up something terribly. The Aquacat thought as he threw his gaze around the location that he had shown up at. He hadn't really been focusing on his location, merely vanishing when he had stepped on the water outside of the Nature Iramasha base, reappearing on the surface of this small oasis spring. Huh. Interesting. He looked around, seeing how there was nothing all around for miles...
But sand. All this dry sand. He calmly reflected, sighing a small amount within his mind as he brought a hand up and slowly ran it through his hair, his mouth closed as his fingers let the smooth strands run through them. "Seriously. What's a guy gotta do these days to find a good lake or stream?" He thought out loud, reflecting on the oasis he was standing on. It wasn't very big, maybe twenty feet in diameter at most. Hopefully I'm not attacked. I won't have much to defend myself with... This thought caused him to chuckle a small amount, for reasons that he would rather not express.
He lowered his hand back to his side again as he took steps forwards, reaching out a hand as a small trident appeared. He rested it on his right shoulder in his right hand, his eyes looking around and blinking, his jaw in his mouth moving back and forth almost nervously. He was bored; that was the simple truth. And I cannot stand being bored! He reflected as he opened his eyes slightly, spotting something appearing next to the oasis. He could only watch as the box opened up, and a man stepped out of it. He blinked, nearly laughing as a small smile spread on his face. What luck! He thought, seeing the man before him.
"Oi, you there!" He spoke, pulling the trident to his right side as it twirled around, only once, pointing at the man, indicating it was he who James was speaking to. "How would you like to give this tomcat a release from his boredom in a bit of a spar? Maybe afterwards we could have a drink!" He offered, his voice ringing out through the desolate wasteland. He was positioned a few feet out from the shore of the oasis, so there was some distance between he and the person that had emerged. Then he blinked, smacking himself visibly on his forehead with his left hand as he rose his eyes to the sky, then back down with a small smile.
"Excuse me, where are my manners? I'm James Mizumuzi, the Nature Iramasha: Type Water. My titles include the Leader of the Nature Iramasha, Warden of the SouthWest for the Vanguard, and the Aquacat." He said with a majestic bow, the trident following his moves. He was quite enjoying himself as he waited to see the man's reaction, a small smile still existing faintly on his mouth...

The Shinigami turned as he heard the voice of a man. The strange man had his trident pointed right at him. "How would you like to give this tomcat a release from his boredom in a bit of a spar? Maybe afterwards we could have a drink!" The Shinigami couldn't help but notice the oasis behind the man. A drink of water sounded awfully good about now, but he simply forgot about it. "Excuse me, where are my manners? I'm James Mizumuzi, the Nature Iramasha: Type Water. My titles include the Leader of the Nature Iramasha, Warden of the SouthWest for the Vanguard, and the Aquacat."
The Shinigami heard this and wasn't quite sure what to make of it. He knew almost nothing about the Iramasha, only their name. He also had no idea what the Vanguard was. And as far as he could tell, Aquacat was simply the man's nickname. He sighed and scratched the back of his head. He wasn't sure what to make of any of it. The only part he understood was the man requested a spar. The Shinigami spoke, his eyes were closed. His voice was straight and almost emotionless. Not that Snopy felt that way, but he just wasn't sure of the situation at hand. I'm going to say one thing right now, I have almost no clue about what you said. Technically I'm not an official Shinigami so I haven't had time to do my homework. And where I was when I was alive didn't have any of that. Snopy then opened his eyes, revealing the strange coloration. the left being pink, the right being purple.
My name is Snopy Saika, I guess a wanderer at the moment. And as good as a spar does sound, I won't be able to use my former powers due to the incident that killed me. Snopy was simply telling what was on his mind.

Take Care Not to Drown!
"A wanderer, eh? Well, I'm sure that's a thrilling lifestyle!" James replied, reflecting on the rest of what he said. "Seems you really aren't that in tune with what has been going on, have you? I am a Warden of the Vanguard, the organization that protects earth. Well, them and the Nature Iramasha." He explained as, unbeknowest to him, the water shot up his leg, creating a tail of water just above his behind that slowly moved back and forth, as well as two pointed ears on his head, cat ears. He himself had no idea this had occurred; however, it would be in plain view of Snopy.
[color=blue]"So then, you really won't mind? Great. Then I guess I'll start, shall I?"[/blue] He spoke as he spun the trident above his head, ending up holding it with both hands, the left at the top and the right at the bottom. He took a large step, touching down on the water as he suddenly vanished, seeming to disappear into thin air. He reappeared in front of the man, a wide smile on his face, his left hand held out to his left side. His elbow was bent and back, the trident held back as he pulled up on it, bending his wrist as he sent it like a rake up his opponents front. Then he hopped back a bit, chuckling as he stood on the water once more.
"Come on! Don't tell me you can't walk on water?" He taunted good naturedely as he held up out his right hand, releasing his grip on the trident. He watched as it fell from his hand, plopping into the water and returning to its source, as a small amount of blue began to glow around his body, the smile remaining on his face as his different colored eyes became illuminated, nothing more than slits now. He didn't even think about how strange it was to see another with Heterochromia iridum out here. From the spot above which he held his hand, the water began churning in small circles.
Up from the water's surface, in the center of the circles, shot Sakibo, James grabbing the large Ice-like blade by its hilt. He smiled as he held the blade before him, pointing it at Snopy. "Alrighty, mate! Your move!" He said jovially, waiting to see what the man would do in reply to his actions up to this point...

Snopy watched as water rose around James and gave him catlike features. That explains the nickname Aquacat The man spun the trident around his head before seeming to vanish. Snopy was caught off guard by the disappearance and immediately reached for his blade. Before his hand could reach it though, the Iramasha appeared before him. Out of instinct Snopy jumped back, barely avoiding being raked by the man's trident. Snopy pulled his Zanpakutō from it's sheathe immediately and got into stance. James was once again standing on the water. Snopy was a little surprised, his senses seemed a little clearer after drawing his blade. He pushed the thought from his mind as he watched the man closely.
"Come on! Don't tell me you can't walk on water?"
Snopy watched as the man released the trident. The man began to glow blue with energy. The water below his hand began to stir, and from it rose a blue blade.
Alrighty, mate! Your move!"
The man wan't far out on the water, but Snopy had at best one swing before tumbling in. When he was alive he had ways of walking on air and water, but they hadn't worked since he dies. The manipulation of energy would have to be tweaked. He stood motionless for a moment, calculating what the difference may be. He had one chance to get it right or he'd tumble into the water. He watched the man still on the water, waiting. It seemed that James was going to wait for Snopy to make the next move, so he didn't rush it. After a moment he ran at the Iramasha. He condensed his energy at his feet and hoped he had adjusted correctly. As his first foot struck the water he almost expected to fall in.
Thankfully enough for him, it didn't sink in. With his second step he confirmed he wasn't going to fall in. He held his blade in his left hand and swung upwards at James. He would follow with a downward slash. He then backed off and stood back, only partially standing on the water, partially on land. He prepared for some sort of retaliation, raising his blade in a defensive manner.

Don't Flounder Like a Fish!
James watched with an amused look on his face as the man attempted to find out how to walk on water. Come on, the son of the Lord of the Isrealites did it, you can do it too... James thought to himself, smiling slightly as he remembered his own Israelite upbringing. He blinked as he watched the man finally take a step out. That's the way! He nodded to himself, his smile widening as he watched him finally step down properly on it.
"Woopsy daisy!" He said out loud as he saw the blade coming up from his right side. He met the blade with Sakibo, throwing it off its course. However, the tip of his opponents blade caught the back of his wrist, and James ducked around the other slash, his tail wagging fervently as he watched the blade sail right down next to him as he sidestepped and turned. He held his hand up before him, examining it for a moment. He examined his bluish-purple blood as it dripped from the wound, landing in the pond below him, the Nature Energy in his blood staining the water. He turned his head to face Snopy again, before vanishing.
That was it. He merely vanished. He existed in that space, and then simply didn't. He reemerged, however, as if he hadn't moved, on Snopy's own left side. However, Sakibo was now outstretched to James' side as he brought it across, trying to slam him out towards the water and force him to learn how to walk on it with his whole body or sink. James soon followed his assault by bringing up his blade and swinging down on the very edge of the oasis; if the man had ducked down, he most likely would be forced farther out into the water by this attack.
However, this was ALSO not the true purpose of the attack. Oh, no, the true purpose was much more interesting. Sakibo froze the water it had connected with solid, as James drew the blade back up, the water flowed up with it, forming new ice, a tapestry of ice following his blade. "A bit of target practice, eh?" He asked, the line of ice standing next to him in Sakibo's shape, looking like he had dipped the blade in icy ink and painted with it in the sky. He brought the blade back, before slamming it into the ice tapestry.
The tapestry shattered, as the shards burst forth. A total of twenty shot out; seven of them completely missing their target. Six of them went off by a good margin; three of them around, and three of them shot right at where James had guided Snopy to. He smiled as he hefted Sakibo onto his right shoulder, smiling and the cheeks of his face lifting; he was most clearly having fun.
"Not bad; not bad. However, you're gonna have to try harder if you want to get "Stronger!" Be like the water; be calm, be collected. That'll give you a good idea of what you need to keep up with me. Mmkay?" He finished, his tail continuing to wag, although he was still unaware of it. The different colored orbs that were his eyes continued to stare at his opponent as he awaited his response.

Snopy stood and observed as James looked at the small cut on his wrist. The Shinigami was somewhat surprised that he landed a blow on the foe. Though he had a feeling the Iramasha was holding back a lot. James simply turned his head to Snopy and disappeared. "He disappeared again, but where will he appear?" He calmly thought to himself as he tried to predict the man's next move. Suddenly the Iramasha appeared to Snopy's left and brought his blade down on him. There was no time to try and dodge, but the Shinigami's Zanpakutō was already in his left hand. He raised it barely in time to block, but the force pushed him out into the water a little.
Snopy made sure to keep his footing stable or else he would sink in. Out of the corner of his eye Snopy saw the man bring his sword down, forcing Snopy to jump back even further on the water. He could tell the Iramasha was pushing him out on purpose. Yet when he looked back he could not believe what he was seeing. James brought his blade back up from the water, leaving behind a trail of ice. If he wasn't trying to figure out what the man's plan was, Snopy would've found it a beautiful sight.
Suddenly the ice was shattered and 20 shards, from what Snopy could tell, went flying out. Only three hit the mark and came flying right at him. Snopy knew there was only one thing to do. He motioned his body so the right-most shard flew past him, then he brought his blade around barely in time to deflect a second one. The third however, cut through Snopy's right arm and left a gash, from which blood slowly dripped from. He considered himself lucky, if he hadn't deflected the one he might have taken a near-fatal injury to the core of his body. He did his best to hide the pain, though his pain tolerance wasn't what it used to be. A more serious injury and it might have been impossible to hide.
Despite the events, a smile went across Snopy's face. Part of it was the man told Snopy to be calm and collected. Though Snopy was acting overly cautious since he died. The other part was it had been awhile since he actually had a good spar. He held out his left hand, pointing his Zanpakutō at the James. It's been a long time since I've had this much fun. Hell, it's been a long time since I've enjoyed myself. Let me tell you what, Rukongai is not a pleasant place. Snopy could already feel his old self returning to him. A self that he had missed dearly.
He brought his sword back down and rushed towards the Aquacat. He lunged fiercely straight at the man's center. Then he brought his sword up and swung down with some decent force. He brought his sword back and did another upward slash. He finally ended the combo by putting both hands on his blade and swinging down with great force. When all was said and done Snopy took a few steps back and waited for the man to respond.

Just Go With The Flow!
James nodded at Snopy's words as he spoke. "True 'dat." He spoke, his eyes widening a small amount as he watched the man rush towards him. James himself knew he could simply be anywhere in the pond whenever he desired. But how boring that would be! He thought to himself as he raised up Sakibo, smiling widely as he blocked the first strike, his left hand holding up the large flat part of his blade, deflecting the tip of the blade. He smiled further as the man brought down his blade again, James merely shifting his blade around to deflect it again, moving his own head slightly as it lightly brushed against the left side of his head, creating a small cut from which his bluish-purple blood poured, right next to his blue eye.
James remained holding his ground as he saw the man beginning and upwards slash, James grabbing the blunt edge of his blade as he pulled it down, the curved opening within his sword catching the man's blade as James felt another small cut appear on his right shin. He bent his wrist, slamming the blunt side of the blade into the man's sword once more as he watched him take steps back. "You may regret that! Look at your sword!" James called out, a pointer of ice, frozen air from the atmosphere, roughly the size and shape of a conducters baton, forming in his left hand. He pointed it at his opponents blade with a flourish, revealing what it was the Aquacat had done.
The tip of the blade was completely frozen. There were also three large and dense spots of ice along it as well; these were very slowly spreading, the sword nearly completely consumed in the ice. James smirked as he rested Sakibo on his right shoulder, feeling as his own shoulder froze. "There's one of the abilities of Sakibo. My sword. Here's another!" He declared, swinging the sword forwards and behind himself in one motion, his arm moving back as he took a step forwards. As he did so, he finally stopped restraining his blade, as it became covered in his blue aura, the water rapidly surrounding it as he brought it up. The entire process took less than two clicks; however, the result was quite apparent.
From the blade and in front of James, a large amount of the water of the Oasis shot out, creating a Curved Wave of water that flew right at his opponent. Roughly 10 feet in height, it was only two feet in width, meaning that Snopy still had a good chance to dodge it. James repeated the process three times, creating three waves large enough to destroy houses, with a good amount of speed, at his opponent, redirecting himself after each shot. The result was the Oasis becoming quite low on water. However, James only smirked as he lowered his blade back down. Another of its abilities came into play as all around the blade, water burst forth in torrent, as it began to rapidly refill the Oasis. Within a moment, several gallons were added, the water BURSTING out from the sword as it completely refilled the small piece of water.
James prepared to finish, performing the same thing he had done four times before. However, this time, when he brought the blade forwards, he performed a change. Instead of the water gathering and being fired, a great stream of ICE was flung off the blade, roughly 5 feet in width, six feet in height as it raced at Snopy. If it hit, it would freeze whatever body part it touched; if it didn't, it would leave an ice road six feet in height. He dropped the baton at last, holding Sakibo at his side.
"It has been AGES since I had an opportunity to give it this good of a warm-up!" He exclaimed, waiting to see what the man did. Who knew? There was even a chance that such a great amount of pressure and attack would force something unexpected to happen. If it did, it would greatly interest James, and thtat was something that he was rather looking forwards to...

Snopy watched as the man pointed at his sword. He was shocked to find ice on several spots on the blade. Within a moment the sword was completely frozen over. The added weight made it difficult to hold onto. "There's one of the abilities of Sakibo. My sword. Here's another!" Snopy watched as the man in one swift motion conjured a torrent of water. It wasn't very wide, but it moved with immense force. The Shinigami thought for a moment. He knew his blade was somewhat heavy, and the ice made it more so. He may as well use his enemies attack against him.
Snopy undid the force that was holding him up and he sank into the water. With the added weight he went to the bottom rather quickly, and was able to go deep enough the wave went over his head. He almost went up, but stopped when he sensed several more were still coming. When all the waves had gone the pool of water was quite a bit lower. Snopy held the tiny bit of his Zanpakutō that wasn't frozen before using the same technique he used to stand on the water in the first place. However, rather than just standing, he used it like a flight of stairs.
He re-emerged just in time to see James refilling the oasis with water. Snopy was soaked and only a tiny portion of his blade had thawed. Not nearly enough to make a difference. Snopy was about to respond when he saw James motion like he was going to send another wave. Snopy needed to move fast, but his blade was still dead-weight. As the Iramasha unleashed a stream of ice Snopy dropped his sword. He used his Reiatsu and stepped up into the air a bit before jumping with every ounce of power he had. He barely missed having his foot frozen solid. He landed on the trail of ice left behind. He simply skated along it at high speeds before jumping once more, bringing his fist with as much force as he could put in it down on James.
The Shinigami then jumped off to the side and relocated back to where he had dropped his sword. He smiled a little, he had condensed just enough Reiatsu to hold it above the water. He didn't think he could do it, but if he hadn't he might have been a block of ice. That was a little too close for comfort.

Don't Become An Icy Dish!
James had watched with surprise as the man fell through the water. He was quite surprised that the man had found such a creative way out. Seems he is pretty observant.. James noted, before seeing the man swimming around. Heh. To think... He let thought trail off as the man appeared back on James' ice trail, running at the Aquacat. James only followed him with a surprised look on his face as the man leaped up into the air, before throwing down his fist. It caught James directly in the face, slamming into his right cheek as his head was thrown downwards, the rest of his body following as his face slammed into the ice.
He threw both of his hands down, slamming them onto the water's surface as he brought his body up slightly. He only smiled as he lowered his head, opening his mouth. He placed his mouth into the water, his mouth wide open as the water began flowing into it, the ice shattering as it too was drawn in. James smiled, reaching up his right arm as he wiped his mouth off, before setting his hand back onto the surface of the water.
He pushed up with both arms, getting up off his knees and facing Snopy once more. "I know that probably wasn't intentional, but I thank you for the meal." James exclaimed, a small smile on his face as he patted his stomach with his left hand, looking back down at the ground. "Tsk, tsk, Sakibo. Bad sword." He said as his eyes viewed his blade. It was still under the water... in a cube of ice. James merely sighed as the cube raised itself out of the water, James holding it over his palm, the hilt of his sword pressing out of the ice onto the soft flesh of his right hand.
"This is why it is called Sakibo, the Cat's Paw." James explained as the area around his hand became superheated, the water molecules around it turning very hot as James gripped his hand through the ice around the sword. He hefted the blade above himself, before swinging down.
As he did so, the ice shattered, reforming into 5 cat paws. One each at the four corners in the size of the ice, each about 4 inches is size as they flew out, one in the center as well. If any of them made contact, they would completely freeze over whatever they touched. After all, each had roughly 20 cubic feet of ice within them, thanks to the power of Sakibo. James opened his mouth to speak once more, this time giving a word of warning.
"I would recommend that you dodge those, my friend."
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

Re: Use Splash Attack!

I would recommend you dodge those my friend. Snopy didn't have to be told twice. Once was more than enough. Snopy quickly reacted and dropped, once again, into the water. He was fully aware that at his current power combined with the creeping fatigue he couldn't dodge the attack any other way. He also knew that trying it twice was crazy, crazy enough to catch James off guard. Snopy only hoped he wouldn't need to do it again, as its effectiveness would be gone.
He came back up to the surface, his effort in the fight becoming quite obvious by the heavy breathing. He knew he was running out of energy, if it was a real fight this is where he would have to flee. However, seeing as it wasn't a real fight, he figured he'd go at it til he dropped. He was, after all, in an oasis. He gripped his sword tightly and ran forward once more. He was going to give his all from this point, all the strength he could muster.
He brought his blade down on James with all his might. He quickly followed up with a hard kick at James's torso. He then followed with a lunge of the sword and yet another kick, this time at James's legs. As he jumped back he began to summon forth all Reiatsu in his body. His body became enveloped in a pink aura as what energy he had remaining surged forth. He waited for James's next move.
