DAIMEIKANTAI
THE BLACK AND WHITE OF BALANCE

» Name: Daimeikantai (大命乾隊; Great Imperial Command Companies)

» Alignment: Lawful Neutral.

» Base of Operations: Seireitei, Soul Society.

» Summary: The Daimei is a focused, no-nonsense military organization, established with the singular mission of preserving the balance of the Soul Cycle. Unlike other groups, the Daimei does not concern itself with providing aid or relief to the Rukongai. Its purpose is strictly tactical—addressing threats to the Soul Cycle. Founded by Byakuya Kuchiki, Retsu Unohana, and Yuuto Hisakawa late in the year of 2123, the Daimei operates with a disciplined, militaristic approach, prioritizing the Soul Society's stability above all else, regardless of external pressure or sentiment.

» Requirements: The Daimeikantai requires that every combat-ready member be a Shinigami or Vizard. Non-combat roles may be filled by Pluses. Members are either recruited from Shin’o Academy, recruited by another member of Lieutenent rank or higher, or are to present a letter of recommendation from a reputable authority. All candidates will undergo an interview as part of the selection process, either with a Lieutenant, Captain or one of the three Generals.

OVERVIEW

» Maintaining the Soul Cycle: The primary, and truly only, goal of the Daimeikantai is the maintaining of the Soul Cycle. They are keepers of the balance—and operate under it being above all else. It is above personal morality, heroics, and honor. No matter what, balance must be kept. The Daimeikantai is not a police or a protection force. They are not here to promote economic growth and social reform, but to balance the cycle that keeps the world in existence. This mission is absolute.

» Resources: The Daimeikantai is funded primarily by the Kuchiki family and its vassals, with additional backing coming from Central 46 and other nobles. Although they may not serve noble purposes fully, they are the sole organization that does not have outright resentment for nobility. The Daimeikantai is headquartered in the First Division, and as such, is also in control of the Central Great Underground Prison—as the beings imprisoned there are those that would disturb the balance in one way or another. In addition, the Shin'o Seiyakuin and its medical facilities have been ceded to the Daimeikantai's Relief Corps under direction of its last General Director. In addition, the Daimeikantai has recovered much of the infrastructure left by the Gotei United through either outright buying the land or leasing it.

POSITIONS

» General: Although its overall structure is similar to the Gotei, the Daimeikantai has elected to do away with centralized power. The organization is controlled by the three Generals, each of whom is in charge of two units. A 2/3 majority vote must be met for any policy change within the organization.
» Captain: These are the leaders of the different units within the Daimeikantai. Represented by a white Haori with the flower of the General they are under, each Captain is responsible for their unit. They handle all staffing matters within their unit and serve as an exemplar of what that unit is responsible for. Captains are required to have a Bankai or Bankai-equivalent.
» Vice-Captain: Vice-Captains are the second-in-command of their respective units. They are often in charge of supervising their unit if the Captain is not around. The specific qualifications for a Vice-Captain are assigned by each Captain, but the overall general qualification is usually possessing Shikai or an equivalent boosted form.
» Seated Officers: Seated officers are in charge of most of the day-to-day operations of the units. They oversee, train, and lead the unseated members below them. During missions, they will act as team lead. There are 5 seats per unit, 3 excluding the Captain and Vice-Captain.
» Unseated Members: These are the masses of the Daimeikantai. They are not in a seated or otherwise-specified position.

The Daimeikantai Onmits10

Hyakutakesō (Hundred War Priests; 百武僧)
The Hyakutakesō are an amalgamation of previously highly specialized groups such as the Kido Corps or Onmitsukidō of old where each member of the group is expected to either be considered a master in their respective field or have a high aptitude for all fields of Shinigami training. The name is in reference to how one member of the group is said to carry the strength of 100 men. In function, the Hyakutakesō are meant to be used sparingly and as a last resort, with missions of top priority only being assigned to them when failure is no longer an option. That being said, their day to day has little to no tasks and as such they are given a lot of leeway in their duties but are expected to fall in line only within the rules of their Captain who in turn ultimately answers to the Generals. The Captain must be of the Shihoin family, either by blood or marriage.
