PERSONALITY
Who are they on the inside?

Personality: In the basest sense, Mizuki is a true Artisan. A purveyor of all that is great and wonderful in this world; she is one who will simply stop, and appreciate the scenery around her. A natural user of paints and words, she is oft seen with a brush in her hand, humming a soft tune as she places her dreams and ambitions onto canvas and paper. One will watch her eyes close and her mind wash away into nothingness with the motion of her paintbrush; it appears that Mizuki is purely in ecstasy. She will also call forth small tidbits from her own poetry, as well as poetry of others—she has learned to appreciate the works of those that she feels are great. Playwrights such as Shakespeare and Wilde, or authors with the minds of Conan Doyle and Poe; they are those who Mizuki appreciate, as well as others. Always caught in her own little world, Mizuki tends to sit around and hum a small tune to herself.

If she finds herself liking somebody in “that” way, Mizuki cannot usually bring herself to trust them in the way that one normally would. She will, instead, continue to act cold towards them; possibly even to a greater extent than before. This trait, known to a lot of people as “Tsundere”, may be one of the things that frustrate Mizuki the most. People’s reactions to such actions are strange for her, since a lot of the time they are pulled closer in by her coldness. Unfortunately for them, they will almost always be driven away by her. Unfortunately, Mizuki has found few that she can truly “fall” for, due to her distrust of other people and of the world itself. Instead, all that she can find herself trusting is the weapon on her hip and the powders that she wields. If she really trusts someone enough to open up to them, then they’re either very endearing to her, or they’ve put a lot of work in.

Being a traveller at heart, Mizuki finds it difficult to settle into a single place. She moves from location to location, taking jobs as they come to her. Her youth is something that a lot attempt to take advantage of, for that reason Mizuki is generally unafraid to use violence to solve problems that she cannot talk her way out of. Although she is physically quite weak, she is nimble; allowing her to use the strength of her opponents against them. She is very similar when being questioned too; dodging the heavier questions until they trip over their words, or they simply end up giving up in frustration. Because of this, there are times when she can seem evasive, and frustratingly so. At times, she has been told off for this, and told to be honest and upfront with people. This method of dealing with Mizuki has rarely worked, if ever.

Despite her shortcomings and cold visage, Mizuki still appreciates the ideals of charitable people. She will give a small percentage of her monetary holdings to a good cause, unless she has no way of surviving without it—Mizuki is far from a truly selfless being, instead she is a woman who can neither live without herself, nor without seeing the happy faces of others. Instead, she is a true balance of selflessness and selfishness, though she has been known to travel into that foray of selfish when the mood takes her, or when she has to live for herself. As such, Mizuki can sometimes be called foolish; she is. She is foolish, naive, but also very wise to the workings of the world around her.

BACKGROUND
What is there past like?

History/Background: Mizuki's story started, as all stories do, with a mother and a father. Two parents that loved each other, living in self-proclaimed solitude within Karakura City. They chose to isolate themselves from the world, only partaking in their love together; giving each other the time in the world. This pair bore a child, one they named Mizuki. As this child grew older, she started to show appreciations for the world. Art was something that always caught her eye, and a good song gave this girl a rush that even her parents couldn't explain. By the time she had turned 18, she had already parted ways with her family and gone into the world. Her death was tragic; a mugger with a gun took her down in seconds.

Travelling to Rukongai, she was quickly brought into the Shino Academy for purposes of becoming a Shinigami. Quickly progressing through the powers-that-be, she made it clear that she was a basely physical fighter; showing less skill in Kidō than she did other regions. Put into the Second Division, she never rose above an 18th seat. Shikai was learned slowly but surely, and as she finally rose to that 18th seat placing, she changed squads out of the blue. Her new location: the 14th Division, the Special Human Task Force. Nobody knows why she chose this; it's doubtful that even she does.

The SHTF left the Soul Society shortly after that, with Mizuki following loyally. After being named the Vanguard, she took a pledge to protect the earth no matter what, partly because she wanted to protect the earth, and partly because she had a teensy crush on the Commander, Genpaku. That said, she wouldn't admit that much. Instead, she has spent her time developing her skills and building up, knowing full well that she has no access to Bankai. With that in mind, she will work on mastering Shikai and her special skill; proving to Genpaku that she is strong enough to be relevant.

Shikai Description: The appearance doesn't change, however a faint pink glow emanates from the outside of the weapons.

Shikai Abilities: Designed with only one thing in mind, Sakura no Shi was designed to, quite simply, cut through a thousand airborne cherry blossoms with minimal time and minimal effort. Though this could be said to be modifying space, or anything of that sort, Sakura no Shi does nothing of the kind. Instead, it amplifies the wielder's natural speed and dexterity to immense lengths.

For usage in cutting mechanisms, Sakura no Shi has one ability and one ability only. In taking a few steps forwards, Mizuki can choose a certain number of hits to land; up to one thousand in number. On choosing this number, cherry blossoms appear around her, floating in a circle around Mizuki's body; these are the apexes of the attacks. Every one of these cherry blossoms will be hit once in her next attack. This can be executed once a post. Although this is the primary usage, the speed and dexterity increases do not just apply to this ability; in Shikai, Mizuki has full access to this addition.

FORCE TO COURAGE
Mizuki's unique property

Unlike most Shinigami, Mizuki is unable to learn bankai at all--her Zanpakutō does not even have the properties available to take on this form. To compensate for this, Sakura no Shi has a special property that has been imbued onto Mizuki's body itself. Known as Force to Courage: A Fated Clause, this ability is designed to allow for Mizuki to stand up to wielders of the famed Bankai, possibly overcoming them with little more than skill alone.

Mizuki's body is like a sink for energy. As she walks along, her body absorbs the energy caused by her body moving against the ground; air resistance, the like. Friction, heat, anything that has energy of some kind will be drawn in by her body; if one stands around Mizuki they will even feel the air slowly cooling around her. Attacks that collide with her will have their energy drained, and she will be able to take that into her body. For this reason, she is able to have a vast amount of spiritual and physical energy, despite not being able to access Bankai. As well as this, Mizuki is impervious to the issues that high spiritual pressures put onto her body.

Note that this is no substitute for actual rest and recuperation. If Mizuki is injured, she will still eventually succumb to her injuries; this is just something that will keep her going until the very end.
