Akane's hair is long, down past the bottom of her back her bangs are however much shorter and barely cover her eyes, revealing brownish-red eyes that almost seem to change color depending on her mood, more red when she is angry, and more brown when she is happy and calm. On both sides of her face she has two white bands that wraps around strands of hair that rest on her shoulders and is layered thin and very soft to the touch.

Her eyebrows are thin and in color match her hair extrodinarly well and accent her round eyes and long eye lashes. Her mouth is not wide or small and she has thin lips, overall her face is very beautiful and the pigmentation of her skin is almost as white as snow, much different then the people now aday's, it almost looks like she has lived in her house, without the slightest hint of sun light.

A Beautiful and Slender body, she is not underweight or overweight, weighing about 102 pounds which is average for her apperance age as well as her height which she is about 5 feet and 6 inches, the average height for her age as well. Akane is constantly making sure to keep her body in good shape so that when she goes into battles she isn't slowed down by excess weight, but also enough muscle to be able to keep up her lifestyle.

Akane's choice in her clothes is about the average for a person, she doesn't like to show off her body like some woman that are her age and her build. However she doesn't over dress, she likes wearing skirts and tank tops, but none of them that show off too much of her body, she doesn't like wearing long sleve shirts nore jeans of that sort and whenever she can she will not wear shinigami robes. Akane perfers something more, modern then that of a robe.

Personality:

The Nurturer

Confidence is one of Akane's many traits, looking at her you can tell this she has confidence in both herself as a person and as a fighter. She doesn't hide the fact that sometimes she is a bit overconfident in her prowess as a fighter, telling people that she doesn't want to hurt them and trying to make them back off with shear, raw power instead of a display of skill. Akane is confident as well as a teacher, the people that look up to her call her "Sensei" being the type of person that will always try and teach people things even if they don't want to be taught, finding quirky ways to teach people.

Akane has a rich inner world that is not usually obvious to observers. She constantly takes in information about people and situations that is personally important to herself, and store it away. This tremendous store of information is usually startlingly accurate, because Akane has an exceptional memory about things that are important to her value systems. It would not be uncommon for the Akane to remember a particular facial expression or conversation in precise detail years after the event occured, if the situation made an impression on herself.

Akane feels a strong sense of responsibility and duty. She takes her responsibilities very seriously, and can be counted on to follow through. For this reason, people naturally tend to rely on her. With this Akane has a difficult time saying "no" when asked to do something, and may become over-burdened. In such cases, she does not usually express their difficulties to others, because she intensely dislikes conflict, and because she tends to place other people's needs over her own. Akane needs to learn to identify, value, and express their own needs, if she wish to avoid becoming over-worked and taken for granted.

B A C K G R O U N D

History/Background:

Life Before Life

Born in Hiroshima, Japan in 1975, the Saito family had actually moved to Italy to try and look for a more humble and prosperous place since Hiroshima, where Akane's hometown was nuked, disappeared off the face of the earth, luckily her and her family were visiting her relatives in Tokyo, Japan, they weren't anywhere in the blast radius or anything. However they could never go back to Hiroshima, there was nothing for them there after the nuke had went off. The nuke actually wiped out Akane's home, and the place where her parents worked and everything.

A year later, in 1976 Akane's family had arrived in Italy. They had uprooted the entire family, Akane and her 2 brothers and 3 sisters moving into a new place where Akane's father had to find work, and fast. Akane's father started out as a construction worker. He toke a liking to the job, always intrigued how structure's were built and how they were able to hold up so much weight and withstand so much pressure. Soon enough he secretly started to study engineering as well as architecture, reading book after book.

While Akane's father was doing all of this, Akane was going to school at a small run down preschool, there wasn't much to the place and the people that ran the preschool weren't very good at all. Akane's life was basically a mess until she came into kindergarten, her father had then been studying for almost 3 years by himself on engineering buildings. However he had taken leave because he was sick, so two weeks later he had gotten back to work and they were constructing a building, but looking upon the sketches, he noticed a fatal flaw. That fatal flaw could have costed someone's life if he hadn't caught onto that, it was a structural weakness in the overall design that the creator of the sketch had not seen.

After Akane's father had realized the flaw, they had demo'd the entire project. With her father noticing that he was actually approached by the corporation that had hired the person before, but he thus was fired because he made such a huge mistake. Thus he made the new designs and was paid a great deal worth of cash. Saito Industries was then born from that deal, her dad had created it in order to follow the dream that he had finally realized.

Finally The Beginning of a New Time

After Saito Industries was born, Akane started to go to better schools, throughout her school years she was very admired by her peers, but also very hated by some. Most of the people that were in her classes and the people that actually didn't know her, hated that she came from Japan and her father had become so famous for his engineering work on the buildings all around Italy. In the coming years her life would change even more. By the time that she got into high school she was at school when her mother came bursting into the classroom crying speaking in Japanese very fluently. Akane quickly stood up out of her seat and started running out of the room, everyone in that room just sat in surprise not saying a word as she had left the building and was on the way to the emergency room.

Going into the hospital and into a emergency room, all she could hear was the flat lining. Then everything went blank, she can't remember anything after that point. Not even remembering the dead corpse of her father, a bullet straight into the right side of his chest, piercing straight through a lung, making the lung collapse as he slowly suffocating and died from internal bleeding.

After Akane's father died, she went through a mental change and a change in the environment around her own person. She was actually given the Saito Industry empire, to inherit it when she graduated college. Upon reaching her final year of high school, she found out that she had inherited something else besides the Saito empire, and that was the love of engineering as well as architecture. She quickly started college and started down the road of college. There was one thing that she needed to have, something that her father had left behind. His will that he wanted to be able to go to Hiroshima and be able to recreate the village that he had once loved, outside of the blast radius of the nuke that exploded on that fateful day.

Inheritance

Upon graduating college at the astonishing age of 21, she decided to travel across the world first, before signing the papers so that she could inherit her father's empire that took more then 10 years to create. Seeing every single architectural phenomenon there was to see, 3 years later she then returned to Italy, signing the papers, the Saito empire was now her's. Akane age 24 then begun to do the one thing that her father wanted most, rebuilding Hiroshima in his name. Taking a plane back to Japan, was very nostalgic, looking at the landscape and seeing all of the different structures that were around. Landing in Tokyo she then took a bus out into a small village that was outside of the Hiroshima blast zone, it was the people that had been gone when the nuke hit. But they came back in order to try and rebuild, it wasn't going that great, but now they had help.

At first the local's seemed really reluctant to do so, but when Akane explained to them who she was, the older people of the village who knew her and her father agreed with her proposal, after that it was history. The new Hiroshima was born, becoming a massive city in what seemed like day's, of course it wasn't. But 4 years later it was finished the massive buildings and everything that her dad had dreamed of, she was able to create Hiroshima once again.

Betrayal

Hiroshima was where she met her husband, the company was headed by 3 people that all wanted to be in full control over the company instead of having to go to Akane. After a board meeting that had happend she was going off to meet the boyfriend that she would soon be engaged and married to, but she wasn't able to get there. A single assassin had stood in her path it was a man that was covered by a cowl over his face, she was at first nervous to go past him, but she had to either way, it was the only way to get past him. At that point her senses heightened to a great extent at that moment she could hear everything around her, the water that dripped off of the trash can from the rain that happened earlier that day. The scratch of steel on steel, at that moment she blinked, looking at the man that was standing in front of her.

At that moment she could see the man moving in almost slow motion, the adrenaline was making the blood pump into and out of her heart, her heart beating at a very increased pace. 'I know i can dodge this, i don't know how i know, but i know.' The blade was coming closer and closer.....

Blood fell off of the blade as the assassin ran away from the scene of the crime, he had done the job that he had needed to do, scare Akane. The blood however wasn't Akane's it was her finance's who had jumped and knocked her out of the way of the blade that was coming at her, severing a artery, he bled out in her arms in under 2 minutes, the ambulance didn't even have enough time to be dispatched in order to come and help him.

Akane locked herself in her room for 3 days and 3 nights, she was heartbroken, scared and couldn't sleep what so ever, so many emotions had run through her system that she thought she was crazy a couple of times. Wrapping herself in a blanket and just laying there, pleading to god that this was all just a dream, but it wasn't. With sleep depreviation coming, she didn't know what was happening. Looking out the window on a rainy night she saw something, it looked like her husband, but there was something after him, she had no idea what it was. Blinking her eyes rapidly in order to make sure she saw what she actually saw.

Grabbing her coat she then started running, as fast as she could soon enough she came upon the thing that was chasing him, it was eating him, at that moment something awakened in her blood, grasping the necklace that her husband had given her she ran straight at the thing and was about to punch it when all of the sudden she was knocked out, she was dead.

Life after Death

Waking up to the face of her husband, or that's what she thought but it was actually a old man who was looking down upon her in a very old fashioned Japanese house, blinking a few she started to become more aware of the sounds and the smell of the place that she was in right now, she could hear the bustling of city streets to her right and a man that was talking to her on the left side of her. She looked up at the man and then her eyes started refocusing and then she started crying, it wasn't her husband, he was dead. She had remained died too but had been saved because of something else that was happening in the area and then was sent to Soul Society Rukongai West #1.

Akane found herself just laying in that bed for a couple days before she finally got up and then went around the house, finding the family that had housed her eating there food in the dining room, they smiled at her and told her to go ahead and sit down and eat, they had plenty of food she sat down, remaining silent as the family laughed and everything but then they stopped, looking at her as she had tears rolling down her face. She looked down, she didn't even notice she was crying till she felt the tears splash onto the kimono that she was wearing. Apologizing for crying they then asked her about her story, hesitantly telling them the 3 of them, a month a father and their son all sat and listened to the story.

After she told them her story, they all went to bed that night, quietly not talking to each other, but it wasn't a awkward silence. They felt bad for what happened, not that they had anything to do with it, but the fact that she lost her soon to be husband before they could even get married or anything, devoured by a hollow nonetheless making it so that he couldn't even be brought to soul society. After weeks of thought and staying with the family they all gathered a the table and Akane told them that she was going to be going and wandering around Soul Society in order to see if her husband was out there or if she could get stronger in order to be able to go after all of the hollow's that could have killed her husband, after explaining this, they thought up something else. In order to grow stronger faster the best thing to do would to get into the shinigami academy somehow someway.

Asking what Shinigami were they explained more and more about Soul Society and the Gotei 13, thinking that this was the most "Righteous" way to kill hollow she decided for it, but getting into the gotei 13 without already living within the serietei was going to be a very hard feat. Akane started training in focusing the reaitsu that she heard about, it was very hard at first but then she experienced something, almost exactly like what she felt when she was being attacked by the assassin that was sent after her. All of a sudden her power sprung forth, she was faster and more agile, she of course couldn't use shunpo or anything like that but she had basically augmented her abilities to make her more resistant as well as stronger and faster, she experimented with this for a few days and what she didn't know was that she was doing it under watch of someone very powerful.

Training throughout the day she was feeling more and more free, it was a great feeling and she was making it so that her reaitsu could be used more efficiently as well as use it for a longer period of time. Over and over she would train, the person in the shadow continued to watch as she progressed but then one day that changed very quickly. Akane thinking that she might be able to sense other people's reiatsu if she tried to sat on the middle of a rock on a pond that had a waterfall overlooking it and then slowly expanded her reaitsu, tracing and tracking anything that she could in order to progress her training.

Finding the correct path

When she expanded her reaitsu she found something, it felt so powerful immediately what went through her head was 'run' at that single moment she jumped up on both feet and then turned around sharply the heightened sense of adrenaline rushed throughout her body. She leapt forward, landing on shore of the pond but someone stood right in front of her, bearing down his reaitsu onto her, she didn't get a good look at him but she quickly did the only thing she could do, focusing her reaitsu onto the soles of her feet she then quickly used a very novice version of shunpo, getting around the guy quite quickly, surprising him because he had not seen that before from her but quickly he was in front of her again, she stopped dead in her tracks and then looked up at him.

"Shunpo, not bad, I've been watching you but i didn't think you had something like that hidden. Please don't be alarmed, my name is Kohaku Kioshi."

She was stunned, mortified she thought that she might die, but she heard something, a whisper in the wind, something that just spoke. Whispered something into her ear, she took a couple seconds not knowing what it was but then something happened, she spoke two words.

"Kinkou, Funaka"

With a violent display of fire and ice spinning around her rapidly body a blast of reaitsu blasted outward as in both of her hands, two swords were there she looked back and forth to both of them and them looked straight at the person in front of her, she attacked, bursting forward with a surge of reaitsu, she felt faster stronger and everything, but she was of course nowhere near the level of the person in front of her. The reason why she couldn't tell that though was because of the power that she had just gained, she couldn't help but go and attack. Kohaku however just raised a finger and then blocked both of the blades that had been swung at him.

"Not bad, obtaining Shikai at this age and just by mere natural talent apprently, and the fact you were scared, i could tell because your reaitsu is flaring out so much that if there were any hollow around here that they would instantly come toward you." He stated, pushing her blades away from him and then pointing his fingers at her. "Bakudo number 4 Hainawa!" He shouting as yellow ropes came out from his hand and then wrapped around her body, she struggled to get free but could not, the power of this person standing in front of her was immense, and she could tell.

Apperance: The Placeholder's come in different ways, some of them can come in forms of jewelry, most of the time it's two earrings, two rings, a necklace and a bracelet that will be on Akane's body unless she needs them.

Info: Placeholder is something that only Akane Saito would be capable of using, using her bankai form she has something called "Reconstruction" which makes it so that she can easily change some of her surroundings depending on what she can imagine. Using the molecular changes that she is able to create at a atomic level is able to reconstruct the atom's that make up a certain object, turning a blade of grass into a sharp metal object, making a tree's molecular structure into that of a rubber object able to absorb shocks of electricity. This also goes to the point where Akane can create different things, able to reconstruct a city if given enough time and reaitsu, recreating a city would be a piece of cake. She's able to reconstruct and change certain landscapes and certain things in general, touching the ground and using reconstruction into anything she can imagine, a shield for example. The more massive that the construction is, the more reaitsu and the more time it would take.

Placeholder would be something that helps Akane save time and reaitsu in order to make something out of the placeholder, she can "record" a certain setting, a certain reconstruction that she would be able to touch against the object that she wants to reconstruct, and using the placeholder would reconstruct the object into the "recording" that she made. Using this she can record a house or a tent if she is going on a journey and then using a placeholder that has the recording of that tent or house she would be able to use it in order to make that certain thing.

Limit: Only 6 Placeholders are allowed on Akane at all times, the placeholder's actually draw off her reaitsu and 6 of them is the max she can have at one time or it will drain so much power that she will be unable to fight.

Inner World: Akane's Zanpakutō's Inner world is a Icy Landscape, miles upon miles of frozen ice that goes on forever, however in the sky, there is no clouds, no sun, no nothing, however there is fire, clouds made of fire in the sky and in the very middle of this landscape, there is a single floating island, in between the sky and the icy sea. The island his populated by lushes greenery, as well as two temples, one that is blue, the other that is red.

Shikai Description:

Shikai Abilities:

"Funaka" (Discord) Akane has the ability to create a Discord within Atom's in the air as well as within inanimate objects. Speeding up or simply slowing down the atom's within the air or without a inanimate object, this power is almost limitless, it's only limited by the intellect of the person who wield's Funaka.

"Bakuhatsu" (Explosion) By making the atom's in a certain inanimate object, vibrate rapidly and speed up in a matter of seconds to the point where it creates a explosion on the molecular level, Akane is able to make a explosion happen in a certain area, having to concentrate on that certain points for a few seconds the explosion is almost instantous, the only 'tell' is that the build up at the certain point that Akane is concentrating on, will have a higher reaitsu output, meaning you will be able to sense it is coming before the explosion actually happens.

"Kaji" (Uncontrolled Fire) Rapidly accelerating atom's to the point of ignition making fire expand from a central point, that point is whatever Akane concentrate's on, this only extends to inanimate objects, or the air in general. With Funaka, creating fire from the air is nothing to Akane. By making the atom's move at a slightly lower speed and over a matter of a couple of miliseconds building up the flame from the size of a baseball, to a uncontrollable fire.

"Jikan" (Time) Descreasing the speed of the h2o molecule's in the air, Akane is able to use Funaka to the extent that it can create ice, uncontrolable without the use of Kinkou, but either way it can make a good shield able to block physical attack's with relative ease, unless the person that is attacking Akane is stronger then herself, though reiatsu abilites are able to easily break through the ice that Akane creates.

"Kinkou" (Balance) The ability to balance and control things created by Discord, making it so that Akane is able to control things like fire, and ice that is created by Funaka as well as the explosion's that can happen with Funaka. Because of Kinkou's odd nature, it is a constant release form, the constant release form of Kinkou is actually that of a lighter, more accuratly a zippo lighter with a Yin and Yang sign on it. The sword form of Kinkou only is used when Funaka is called out by Akane.

Kinkou will also work just like a lighter should, when Funaka isn't in it's shikai form, meaning that it can still control the flames that it creates, expanding them and forming them, however it doesn't work as well and it is limited to only fire, not ice.

"Shuken-sha" (Sovereign) Shuken-Sha is the ability the practically ties Funaka together, it has the ability to control Kaji as well as Jikan, making it so that when using Kaji, Akane can control how it is shaped, how fast it moves and where it goes as well as how big the fire is. With Jikan Akane is able to control how the Ice is formed as well as make it move in different directions as well.

Bankai Description:

As the release phrase for Bankai is called the fire and ice on both of the swords seem to rapidly expand and then slowly contract, bringing the reiatsu out as the bankai is activated and then soaking up the left over particles and shrinking the actual size of the bankai making it so that the two swords are the only thing that is even slightly different in bankai form besides that one of her eyes turn into the color of the sun and the other into the color of a frozen iceberg.

Bankai Abilities:

Along with Akane's shikai abilities being augmented and becoming faster, more powerful and her increased strength, speed and stamina she also gains more abilites based on the atom's in the air and in certain objects.
