Effectively this badge signifies that the holder is a member of Vanguard. It indicates rank within Vanguard to those that see it, but serves several other important purposes. Firstly, this acts for powerful members as a seal that keeps their destructive power sealed much like the Gotei seals do. They can be released by a mere thought, however. These seals are also used to keep track of where members are located at any given time.

Lastly, this item is attuned to their owners Reiatsu's; once that reiatsu is lost by death or seperation, the badge explodes with power roughly equivalent to a cero. Blank badges are kept inventoried and hidden.
