Roman Sinclare: The One Eyed Quincy [APPROVED 1-3]

Quincy
Basics
Name: Roman Sinclare
Nickname: The One Eyed Quincy
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Personality: As one might expect, not just from being a Quincy but his appearance as well, Roman has quite a bit of pride. Now, this is not to say that he is arrogant per say, but more so that he is confident in his own abilities. A prime example of this would be Roman's pride in his intelligence. Having been to some of the most prestigious schools, Roman is very intelligent and knows this, so he takes pride in it. However, this pride does not make Roman an annoyance to be around. While he does have a slight Superiority Complex, Roman is usually able to keep himself in check and not to appear as a jerk or standoffish to others. Of course, Roman is actually a nice guy at heart; his personality just makes him seem a little too confident in himself. This, however, does not mean that he thinks he is "perfect", and he does work constantly to better himself; especially in regards to his Quincy powers. Just like most of the others, Roman takes pride in the fact that he is a Quincy. While this can sometimes put him at odds with other races, mainly Shinigami, Roman does not actually have anything personal against the other races. In fact, he is even able to get along with Shinigami, though those relationships are still a little strained.
When it comes to battle, Roman's intelligence and pride carry over to benefit him quite well. Because of his more tactical battle style, Roman needs to be able to formulate many different strategies within a short time, and has to be able to switch between them fluidly. Luckily, Roman has the training, as well as a bit of natural ability, to do this, and do it well. Because he only has one eye, many opponents are lead to believe that he somehow has a worse depth perception than others. This, however, is not true, as Roman has had only one eye for most of his life, and has actually trained his vision to work just as well. Of course, Roman's pride, and Quincy pride, also makes an impact on his battle style. Now, this does not mean that Roman thinks he's unbeatable, but he does take pride in his abilities. While this usually does not hinder him in battle, it can sometimes actually get him into battles, especially with his rivals. Still, Roman is usually able to keep a calm head during battle, and his intelligence and tactics make him a deadly opponent.
For relaxation, Roman does have a few hobbies and favored activities. For one, Roman loves to read, and can almost always be seen with some kind of book in his hands. While this has led some to call him a bookworm, Roman is more than willing to show people that he isn't just some scrawny little geek. Then again, being 6'5", not many people think he's scrawny. Another one of Roman's hobbies is tea, mainly the drinking of it. Coming from a rather prestigious family, Roman was brought up to appreciate the finesse of the different kinds of tea. Being of age, Roman does drink alcohol sometimes, but he still seems to prefer tea. Roman has also began to show an interest in writing recently, though as of yet it is still just for fun. Someday, Roman does think that it would be nice to write a novel, but he does not intend to make a career out of writing. Of course, Roman does like girls, though he usually doesn't seem to have much luck with them. Maybe it's his pride, or maybe it's the fact that he only has one eye. Either way, Roman has not really had any relationships as of yet. While this does get on his nerves a bit, Roman tends to not think about it much. Then again, to have a successful relationship, Roman would probably need a girl that was able to challenge him, especially intellectually.
Overall, while he might be a slightly prideful guy, Roman is still a good person at the end of the day. While his personality may drive some people away, those that stay and get to know Roman will have an invaluable friend. Being able to utilize both his training and intellect in battle, Roman also makes for a trusted ally; someone whom you know will have your back in the tough fights. In his off time, Roman shows a very creative side, and is fun to be around; even if he is a little stiff. Coming from wealth, some may think that he is stuck up, but Roman knows what it's like to work hard for ones goals, and never saw his life as being able to get whatever he wants. He hopes to one day find a girl that actually likes him, but has had no luck so far. In the end, Roman may have his flaws, but he is only human.
Appearance
Appearance:
Standing at 6'5", Roman's appearance is anything but normal. For starters, the most distinguishable feature about Roman is his eye patch, worn over his right eye. This is because, as a young kid, Roman lost his right eye in an accident. Once people get past this fact, they then usually notice his long, dark brown/almost black hair which reaches down to just below his shoulder blades. While the back of his hair is mostly straight, the front of his hair is usually slightly messy or spiked. Roman has brown eyes, or just singular eye now and always seems to wear a scowl on his face. Although he is tall, Roman is rather skinny, and has a tall, lengthy appearance to him. Clothing wise, Roman almost always wears what appears to be a fancy uniform from some prestigious private school. This outfit consists of a redwood long-sleeve button-up shirt, a black vest, black tie, black dress pants, black socks, and black dress shoes. On his vest is a crest that seems to be associated with his family. Roman also usually has the sleeves of his shirt rolled up. Other than this, Roman also wears a silver ring on the middle finger of his right hand that seems to have some sentimental value to him.
Height: 6'5"
Weight: Around 150 lbs
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Dark Brown/Black
Quincy Powers
Powers:
Hirenkyaku Expert: Because of his years of training, as well as his fighting style, Roman has become very proficient in the Quincy's high-speed movement technique; Hirenkyaku. Roman is usually able to keep up with and dodge even some of the fastest opponents. Because Hirenkyaku is generally faster than Shunpo, Roman is able to outmaneuver most Shinigami and Vizard opponents.
Seele Schneider Expert: Although the Quincy's main weapon is their bow, Roman has become very proficient with their one bladed weapon; the Seele Schneider. In fact, Roman is considered to be one of the best users of the Seele Schneider alive today. Then again, since there really isn't an abundance of Quincies, this isn't too hard of a feat. When compared to his tactical battle style, one would not expect for Roman to be so proficient with a bladed weapon, but even this deception helps with his overall battle style. Skill-wise, Roman is even able to match some melee fighters. Roman has also been known to use two Seele Schneider at once in combat.
Gintō: "are small silver cylindrical capsules that store spiritual energy in a liquid form .They are used by Quincy for spell-casting in the same way that Shinigami use Kidō. Like Kidō, they are activated by calling out various commands." Because of his tactical/trickster style of fighting, Roman has become adept at using Gintō as well as the spells associated with them.
Granate (lit. Grenade in German): A technique where the reiatsu stored in the Gintō is used to cause a large blast; much like a grenade. To activate it, one must add a drop of their own reiatsu to the Gintō, as well as say the command "Feel the blast with your soul, Granate." To explode, the Gintō must be tossed at the opponent, and will explode when it is close enough to a source of reiatsu or when it comes into contact with any surface.
Einweben (lit. Webbing in German): As suggested by its name, Einweben is a binding Gintō technique. It creates a large, man-sized energy web that is useful for either trapping or deterring an opponent. It is activated by the command "The silver strands bind you to your place, Einweben." This technique can either be used up close or by throwing the Gintō at the opponent.
Licht Regen: First more Reishi than usual are stored inside the bow, before the Quincy uses Hirenkyaku to get over the enemy, and release a barrage of arrows at once. The number of Arrows depends on the kind of bow used.
Trick Shot: One of Roman's specially designed attacks, it is one of the key examples of his special style of fighting. To use Trick Shot, Roman first must store up more energy than usual into his arrow before firing it. After firing the arrow, it will disappear once it has flown only a few feet from the bow. While the opponent may think that this is a fluke, the arrow will suddenly appear right next to the opponent, coming from any direction that Roman desires. The arrow has lost none of its momentum, and it is perfect for catching an opponent off guard. Roman can do this with up to ten arrows at a time, but to fire more arrows with this technique, he must charge them longer.
Gefallen Spatz (lit. Fallen Sparrow in German): Another one of Roman's special attacks, Gefallen Spatz can be devastating to an opponent if ignored. As with Trick Shot, Roman must charge up more energy than normal into his arrow. Once charged, Roman then fires the arrow up into the air. Once it reaches a certain height, the arrow will stop, split into multiple arrows, and then rain back down on the opponent. As with before, the amount of time Roman takes to charge the attack determines how many arrows will be created when the main arrow splits apart. As of right now, the limit for this attack is set at 100 arrows.
Homing Shot: Another of Roman's special shots, Homing Shot works in a pretty simple way. Once again, Roman must charge the arrow longer than usual and then fire it. Its ability should be guessed from its name, as once it's fired, it will lock on to a specific reiatsu signature and follow it until it collides with something. Because it is homing, Roman can only fire one of these shots at a time.
Double Shot: As expected from its name, Double shot lets Roman fire two arrows for every one arrow he charges. Basically, this means that, by charging up one arrow, he will be able to fire two arrows, each one at the strength of the one charged arrow. Though it is really a simple technique, it has the ability to double Roman's arrow output without having to spend more time or weakening his arrows. The technique lasts for the whole post in which it was activated, and it has a two post cool down.
Ziel Auge (lit. Target Eye in German): One of Roman's final techniques, it is not an actual attack but is one of his more dangerous abilities. This ability is also for Roman only, since he himself developed it. It works quite simply; Roman condenses an amount of reishi into a spherical orb, and then places it within his right eye socket. Once inserted, the orb acts like an eye and targeting computer, hooking up to the nerve endings in the eye socket to allow him sight. Basically, the reishi eye works faster than his normal eye, and is able to process and compute information at the human brain's maximum capacity. It also allows for Roman to lock onto targets visually, and judge distances and anything else that may affect his arrows trajectory to computer-like precision. Along with an increase in accuracy, this technique also allows Roman to absorb more reishi faster, making him and his attacks stronger.
Final Shot: Amsel Falle (lit. Blackbird Trap): As implied by the name, Amsel Falle is Roman's final special shot. Furthermore, this shot can only be used in conjunction with Ziel Auge. By using Ziel Auge's ability, Roman will lock on to each of his opponents four limbs. Quickly, Roman will fire four arrows, one for each of the limbs. If all four arrows hit, the opponent will be literally bound in place until the arrows disappear. To finish the move off, Roman will charge a large amount of reishi into his arrow to fire one enormous arrow, large enough to leave a fatal hole, directly at the opponent’s chest. After they are hit with the final arrow, the other four will disappear and the opponent will be able to move again.
Quincy Bow: 隠された鶴 Kakusa Reta Tsuru (lit. Hidden Crane)
Quincy Cross:
Compared to other Quincy crosses, Roman's is rather unique. For starters, it takes the form of a 6 pointed cross, meaning that in the main bar's center, there are two horizontal bars instead of one. Also, instead of being pure silver, Roman's cross seems to have a faint gold color. While the meaning of this, if any, is unclear, it is still made out of soul silver.
Reiatsu Color: Blue
Bow Description: When compared to his special shots, Roman's bow is actually rather simple. By focusing more on power and precision that rapid fire, Roman's bow take on the form of a taller style of longbow; a little over five feet in length. The bow also has a short horizontal segment a few inches above its center, giving the bow a cross-like appearance. Because of its specialization, Roman's bow fires arrows that are stronger and more accurate than other Quincies but have about half the firing rate of the hexagonal-based bows. At most, Roman can fire between 400-500 arrows consecutively, though they will be slightly weaker as he nears his limit.
Background
History: Born to a prestigious and wealthy family, Roman seemed to be destined for greatness since an early age. While neither of his parents had Quincy powers, his grandfather on his mother's side was a very powerful Quincy. Oddly enough, though his mother received none of her father's Quincy powers, Roman was born with an innate affinity for them. Either both of his parents were like carriers for becoming Quincies; each one having the potential but not being able to use it themselves, or Roman received all the abilities that had seemingly skipped his mother. Either way, Roman was born with a higher than average reiatsu and the ability to become a great Quincy. Because his Grandfather had sensed this in him, Roman's parents agreed to allow him to teach Roman about Quincies as well as their powers. Although his parents knew that this might not be the safest path, they knew that he deserved to know the truth about himself. Of course, Roman still had a few years to go before he was ready to learn about himself. So, after he reached the age of six, Roman's parents allowed for his Grandfather to tell him about his powers, as well as his Quincy heritage. Of course, Roman had always noticed some oddities about himself, or at least as much as one could expect a young child to see. Instead of being afraid of the news, however, Roman seemed excited, and was more than willing to listen to all that his Grandfather had to tell him.
Because his parents had left the decision up to him, Roman himself decided that he wanted to learn all that he could about Qunincies as well as the powers that he had. So, one year later, at the age of seven, Roman's Grandfather began to teach him the basics about his Quincy powers, as well as the history of the race. While Roman was gifted with a high intelligence, once his Grandfather began to train him, Roman showed an even greater gift for his Quincy powers. Even his Grandfather, a veteran Quincy, was impressed by his growth. Of course, because there never were very many Quincy, there weren’t really many people to compare Roman's growth to, but it was still accelerated compared to normal. For the next three years, Roman devoted most of his time to training his Quincy powers. Of course, at the age of ten, something would happen that would change his life forever.
One day, while in the car with his parents, another car ran a red light at an intersection and slammed right into the left side of the car; the side that Roman happened to be sitting on. To make matters worse, he had actually been looking out the window, directly at the car as it collided with their own. Although most of the impact was absorbed by the car, there was enough force behind the impact to crumple the door in; breaking Roman's left arm and sending a large shard of glass directly through his right eye. Luckily, neither of his parents received anything more than some bad bruises, but Roman was screaming in pain as they waited for the ambulance to arrive. Unfortunately, the damage caused to his eye was so severe, that by the time he got to the hospital, they were forced to remove his eye or risk an infection spreading from it to the brain. After coming to after the surgery, Roman literally began to freak out when he realized that his right eye as gone. Not only was there the physical sensation, but also the fact that this could potentially ruin his Quincy training. He was so hysterical, that the doctors had to give him a sedative just to calm him down. Once it wore off, Roman was able to remain calmer, but he rapidly began to slip into severe depression.
For the next few months that it took for his left arm to heal, Roman was in a major state of depression. Because he now only had one eye, Roman thought that he could no longer become a Quincy. When his left arm finally did heal, Roman’s Grandfather came to him and told him that it was time to continue his Quincy training. Because of his new disability, Roman got a little vehement, claiming that he was no longer fit to be a Quincy. His Grandfather, however, remained calm, and managed to say something that inspired Roman. "If you think that a minor disadvantage such as losing an eye makes you unfit to be a Quincy, then you have not truly learned what it means to be a Quincy." After that, Roman's resolve returned to him, and he began training twice as hard to overcome his disadvantage. While it was hard at first, Roman eventually became accustomed to having only one eye, and eventually his disadvantage made him an even better Quincy, as he had had to train twice as hard to overcome it. Of course, he was still subject to being picked on in school for only having one eye, but it was almost always behind his back. None of the other kids were brave enough to say anything to his face; as not only was Roman taller than the other kids his age, but he was also stronger. Since he was actually a strong person, Roman never did let what others said get to him.
Over the years, Roman spent much of his time training, though he did have to scale back a bit because of school. Of course, school was never a problem for Roman, and he was even able to skip a few grades despite devoting a lot of his time to his Quincy powers. Because of his family's money and prestige, Roman was able to attend some of the most prestigious schools in Japan. Because of this, he was also able to get into one of the best college's in Japan, and even did so at the age of 16. While he was just as tall as the other college students, they still knew that he was younger than them, and he did have to deal with some annoying people. Still, just like always, Roman pushed through, and was able to show the other students who's who by getting the best grades of his classes. Of course, because of the increase in work load, Roman did have to cut back on his time devoted to training his powers. Then again, by now, he was already quite an accomplished Quincy; so much of his training was upkeep. While he did keep in contact with his Grandfather, Roman spent more of his time training on his own now.
After graduating college, Roman got a job with his family's company, and quickly worked his way up to a higher paying yet lower demanding position. Because his parents know that he is a Quincy, he is allowed much leeway in his working hours, though they do not pay him to do nothing. In fact, he may be one of the hardest workers they have; he just gets his work done very quickly.
Extra Abilities:
High Intellect: Born a generally "bright" child, Roman has received the best academic tutelage that money could buy. Not only this, but Roman applied himself quite diligently to his studies. Proof of his high intellect can be seen as Roman has been able to skip a few grades in school and even went to college at a younger age than most. Roman was simply in the perfect situation; he had a naturally high intellect, and was privileged enough to go to the best schools.
High Durability: Because of his years of training, as well as skills in using reishi, Roman's body is more durable than an average human's body. While it is not on the level of some spiritual beings, it is still enough to be noticed when fighting.
Roleplay Sample: (Note: this is a post from me from another Bleach site, but hey, it's what I've got, lol.)
As his Kidō collided with Artix's Zanpakutō, Ravana was able to catch a glimpse of Artix's features; it seemed that the alcohol might be wearing off, and his clouded judgment may be defogging. Watching as the kid flew off into the ground, Ravana stood still, waiting to see what he would do next. Although that hit did seem to jog the kid's memory a bit, Ravana knew that these feelings the kid had were quite strong. Then again, if his judgment was now clear, the kid could still try to attack him and continue the battle, as he was a member of squad 5.
As all of these thoughts were swirling around in his head, Ravana was disrupted from his thoughts as he saw Artix rising to his feet. Judging by the kids grin, he was able to see things clearly, but by listening to his tone, Ravana could tell that things weren't over. "Well, you're finally gonna man up, eh?" he said before Artix had finished. Hearing the second part of the kid's sentence, he sighed a bit. Sure, although he had not taken any damage, he was still feeling the effects of having fought Artix, whereas it seemed that Artix was almost unaffected. Even if they were both roughly at the same level, Artix had a slight advantage in his moral, having just faced his inner demons.
As Artix made his way closer, Ravana stood his ground. That was, until the kid lunged at him, seemingly putting all of his might into the attack. As it seemed that the attack was going to make contact, Ravana sidestepped it, circling around to be behind Artix. Sure, the attack, although strong, was made slightly easier to dodge due to the distance between them, but still, it was close. Knowing that he would have to up the ante now that Artix was going all out, Ravana sighed a bit, and raised his Zanpakutō up in front of himself "Cut them all down, Ikusen Kireme!"
With that, a blast of spiritual pressure came from Ravana and his Zanpakutō, strong enough to push away any opponent that happened to be standing too close to him. The spiritual pressure took on the form of swirling winds, but it was a pale silver in color. As the pressure continued to swirl around him, an almost transparent pale silver aura enveloped the blade of his Zanpakutō. With that, the swirling spiritual pressure dissipated, leaving Ravana standing there in his shikai. Now, to the untrained eye, it would seem like nothing had changed, and even people who could sense the increase in his spiritual pressure would not be able to notice much of a difference. In fact, the only visible difference was the semi-transparent aura surrounding the blade.
"Now, let's see how much you can take" Ravana said before using shunpo to appear behind Artix. Quickly and fluidly, Ravana slashed across his opponents back, followed by another slash to bring the sword back, creating a two-combo slash. This, however, was not all; as soon as Ravana had slashed his Zanpakutō each time, ten more slashes were created, making twenty in total. Now, the slashes were as quick as Ravana had slashed his actual Blade, and they all seemed to converge upon his opponent at the exact same time as Ravana's Zanpakutō. Not even someone who had trained their body to feel the slightest of differences would be able to tell any difference in the timing. Following Ravana's will, the slashes hit his opponent from all four sides, five in front, five to the right, five to the left, and five from behind.
This was the true power of Ravana's Zanpakutō, or at least the power it showed in its Shikai form. Anyone foolish enough to try and take Ravana out by head on attacks would be met by the multiple slashes he could conjure up with only one swing of his sword. This ability seemingly left no openings for head on attacks, so his opponent would either have to devise a way to fight at a distance or suffer multiple wounds before even being able to lay a finger on Ravana. Then again, since his opponent was one of the fight loving members of squad 5, it seemed overtly obvious that he would rush in to close range without a single care for what injuries he might receive.
