Scythe of the Wretched
Wed Apr 06, 2011 9:06 pm
Equipment
- Item Name: Scythe of The Wretched
- Item Type: Available for sale at the Armory of Demono
- Used For: Offensive/Control. Possibly supplementary, depending on the wielder.
- Item Description: The scythe was first created over a millennium ago, used by a legendary demon who was responsible for the massacre of countless creatures. This included humans, hollows, and even other demons. As the centuries went on, the scythe became more and more worn from use, but the unspeakable might that emanated from the demon had permanently infused the weapon with the demon's unique, corrupt energy. At the time of the Demon's death during an incredulously long battle against an angel, the scythe coursed with seemingly endless amounts of this unique energy, tainting the innocent and foolish of heart who dare wield it. The scythe was brought back to the Demon World, and kept in The Armory ever since.
The scythe spans approximately 6.5 feet tall, the blade being only a few inches in height, and 1 meter in length. The edge of the scythe has been worn out from its many years of use, the edge being jagged, and rust visible on the sides of the blade.
The scythe is immersed in a thin, translucent aura of glowing purple. Whence the scythe is wielded, little arcs of purple lightning will course through the weapon, the hands holding the weapon also being immured in the same aura as the blade.
The very instant the Scythe is held, it will begin to taint its user with its unique energy. This effect is known as Self-Corruption. The longer the scythe is wielded, the more energy is infused within the user. The level of Self Corruption is measured in a percentage.
Rate of Self Corruption: 10% per post the scythe is used.
The level of Self Corruption does not deplete until the end of the thread.
Regeneration and healing does not remove the energies gained from Self-Corruption
To the pure of heart, and the neutral, the energy can eventually cause its user to go completely berserk, loosing all sanity in place of a tenacious desire to murder. If this type of user is fully corrupted by the energy, he will become destroyed by it at the end of the thread, regardless of regenerative abilities and auto ressurection. Only the wicked and the vile of heart can use the scythe without being destroyed by its energy.
Purple arcs of lightning-like energy will always be attached from the weapon to its user, no matter how far away the weapon is from the user. The arcs vary in number, but there is always at least one latched onto the user's form, whether the scythe is a mile away, split up into an ensemble of mini scythes, or is currently creating a contour on the earth. The arcs continuously transfer its profane energy into the user's body.
Corruption
What the scythe focuses on, rather than slicing power, is Corruption, the transference of the profane energy into another person. All attacks done by the scythe transfer some energy to the victim. The more the victim is corrupted, the stronger the energy's effects are on the opponent. The level of corruption is measured by percentage.
10%
The opponent will begin to feel a light, queasy sensation from inside of their body, the same feeling one gets in the gut while on a peak of a hill in a roller coaster. The feeling will remain prevalent, regardless of the amount of pain that the opponent is enduring.
25%
The victim will be immersed in a skin tight, glowing purple aura. The queasy feeling will become strong enough to override even serious wounds. The profane energy begins to take control of the victim's body, the energy vitiating the person's control over his own attacks. At this point, all of the victim's attacks are weakened by 25%. The victim's defensive abilities are reduced by 25% of its original power.
50%
The aura that surrounds the victim will begin to expand half a foot out of the body, only to depress back into its original, skin tight proportions, the aura expansion and depression occuring in 2 second intervals. The energy will begin to create a strong sensation of heavy pressure, as if their internal weight is rapidly growing, causing a drop in general speed by rank. The attacks are still vitiated at the same amount as 25%.
75%
This is where the corruption caused by the scythe's energy becomes very serious. The victim's aura will begin to glow like a thick, violet pyre, the aura now appearing like a purplish gas surrounding the victim, expanding 3 feet beyond the person's body. All projectiles unleashed by the victim will be tinted the same color as the aura. If the projectile is physical, the object will be immersed in the same, purplish aura. The vitiation of the power of victim's attacks and defenses are now decreased by 50%.
100%
This is when the victim becomes fully corrupted by the profane energy of the scythe. Little arcs of purplish lightning will begin to flow throughout the exterior of the victim's form, some of the arcs traveling out towards the ground or the walls, similar to a tesla coil, except that these arcs can touch any surface. All projectiles will also be immersed in the aforementioned arcs. The user's general speed will now be reduced by 2 ranks below normal. The levels of vitiation for attacks and defenses are at the same amount as 75% corruption.
Corruption Exhaustion Rate: 5% per post AFTER the last one where an attack from the scythe connected.
The rate doubles if the victim is at their greatest form.
The rate doubles if the victim is completely pure of heart, or holy-based.
Abilities:
Strike
Since the blade is dull, the scythe itself does not deal much physical damage. Whence the scythe does make contact with the opponent, however, some of the scythe's energy will be transferred to the enemy.
Damage:Low (Adept Endurance) Insignificant (Adv. and up)
Corruption: 10%
Stigmatic Strike
Instead of hitting the victim with the scythe to cause damage now, this strike delays the actual damage of the strike, the overall result being more deadly. Whence the user successfully connects a swing, a transparent image of the victim being slided in two by the scythe will appear, the image springing out of the victim, similar to how a spirit ejects from a physical body. The image is followed by a deep, nightmarish screech, one that would belong to a lovecraftian entity, that can be heard inside of the victim's head. The image lasts for 2 seconds before fading away. No actual damage or pain will occur, yet. 2 posts after the initial strike occurs, a sharp searing spike of gut wrenching pain can be felt from inside the victim's body, the pain shooting up through the spine, feeling as if a hot iron was just lodged into the person's gut. Internal bleeding will occur, and blood will begin to flow out of the victim's mouth. The damage is greater here, when compared to an ordinary strike, the corruption rate being increased somewhat. This strike can only affect a single person once per thread. To do it again on the same person will cause the user to receive the damage, instead.
Damage: Moderate (Adept) Low (Advanced) Insignificant (Master)
Corruption: 15%
Tainted Saw
By throwing the scythe towards the target, the scythe moving at 40 meters per second the weapon will spin so fast that it will look like a large saw of purple energy, of the same diameter of the scythe. The saw does more damage than a mere strike, although what really matters is that the amount of corruption increases. One post after the scythe is thrown, it will arc back in direction to its user, after traveling for 200 meters like a boomerang. The saw can easily sunder through energy based projectiles on the scale of an ordinary cero, but physical objects will be much more difficult for the scythe to saw through. From this attack, multiple other attacks can occur.
Damage: Moderate (adept) Low (Adv) Insignificant (Master)
Corruption:15%
Reel
The user can use the purple arc that is attached from the self to the scythe to immediately bring the scythe back to the user. By sticking the hand out, the scythe will instantly turnabout in direction and hastily spin back towards the user, at a rate of 210 meters per second. This can be used as a trick when an opponent dodged the saw and rushes towards the user.
Same damage and Corruption rates apply as before.
Saw Frenzy
The user throws the scythe in a similar manner to Tainted Saw, except that it does not arc back, and continues to travel forward. Whence the saw hits anything, whether it be a physical or energy projectile, it will rebound towards the user. The very instant the saw hits an opponent, however, the projectile splits into 13 mini saws of purple energy, each saw spanning 2 feet in diameter. The saws will follow wherever the victim goes, quickly sawing into the flesh, and changing direction whenever the saws are traveling away from the victim to return to the opponent after traveling a meter away from the victim. The constant foray of mini saws will last for 10 seconds, before the saws fly back to the user, merging back into a single scythe. Although the victim is hit much more than with the Tainted Saw, but the overall damage is in fact the same, but the level of corruption is greater.
Damage: Moderate (adept) low (Adv) insignificant (master)
Corruption: 25%
Saw Flurry
By gently raising the scythe into the air, letting go of it, it will begin to rapidly spin until it looks like a purple saw, although it won't move towards the target. The saw will then split into 33 smaller saws, their proportions the same as the saws of Saw Frenzy. The saws move at 80 meters per second, being shot out in a slightly scattered line pattern. Although the saws move faster, it is easier for them to be stopped by any defense or counter attack. It is harder the mini saws to slice through energy and physical projectiles than with a normal saw. Something on the range of an ordinary cero or a large energy shield can be used to stop the saws from reaching the opponent. One post after the saws are fired, they will return to the user, merging into a single scythe once again.
Damage: (per saw) Low (adept) Insignificant (Adv and up)
Damage: (in total) Severe (adept) Moderate (Adv) low (master)
Corruption: 1% per saw that connects.
Field of Saws
By letting go of the scythe, it can split into three rings of mini saws, 11 saws per rings. One ring placed upon the horizontal axis of the user, one at the vertical axis, and the last constantly convolving in constantly changing angles. The rings rotate counterclockwise, the saws can be used to shred any opponents that come close to the user, or aid in preventing physical and energy based projectiles from reaching the user. They are not the best at stopping large projectiles like a Gran Rey Cero, but prove useful to stop a rushing enemy dead in their tracks. This ability lasts for as long as the user likes. At any time, the user can either reform the mini saws back into a single scythe, or the user can cause the rings to eject outwards, sending the saws in varying directions, the saws moving at 80 meters per second. The post after the saws are launched, they will congregate back together, forming back into a single scythe.
Damage(shield): Moderate (adept) low (adv) insignificant (master)
Damage(dispersed): Low (adept), insignificant (adv and up)
Corruption(shield): 15%
Corruption (dispersed, per saw):5%
Original Scythe
If the user so happens to have a second form obtained (Bankai, Segunda, Muto Jokai), and is in that second form, then the True Scythe can be unleashed.
The scythe grows to a disproportionate length to its user, spanning 13 feet tall, tha blade extending to 3 meters in length, and 1 meter in height closest to the pole. The edge of the scythe becomes razor sharp, loosing all of its jagged edges. The blade looses all of its rust, appearing completely unstained, as if it were newly made.
The Damage rate stays the same for all former abilities, but the corruption rate is doubled. The size of the mini saws are now doubled, and are able to sunder through attacks the level of an ordinary cero. A regular saw is now capable of slicing through a Gran Rey Cero, although its speed will be reduced to half upon contact. The speed of reeling the scythe back in using Reel is now increased to 500 meters per second.
The Original Scythe can use the following abilities:
Profane Contour
By throwing the scythe towards the ground, it will turn into a purple saw once again. Upon making contact with the ground, the saw will race through the ground at an alarmingly fast speed of 220 meters per second, leaving a trail of deep purple energy behind it. The trail spans 1 foot in width, and can stretch out to 1000 meters maximum. The user can control the very direction of the saw, allowing for a distinct pattern to be created by the trail, rather than just a linear or curved line. The saw cannot travel on top of the trail again, without ejecting from the earth. The saw can travel up any physical surface. The very instant the saw parts from the trail, the trail will detonate, unleashing a large surge of tainted energy, the compliments of the purple wave being 50 meters in height, and 2 meters in width. Anyone who makes contact with the blast will be exposed to high amounts of tainted energy, whilst being flung high up into the air, like a measly little toy. An easy way to stop the saw, as well as the contour from reaching the opponent, is if the opponent forced the saw off of the earth. The best means of doing this is a physical attack, or to alter the earth to launch the saw into the air, causing the trail to detonate early.
Damage(saw): Same as Tainted saw.
Corruption(saw): Double the ordinary corruption rate of Tainted Saw.
Damage(contour): Severe (adept) Moderate (Adv) Low(Master)
Corruption(Contour): 45%
Mass of Contours
Like the last mentioned attack, the user throws the scythe towards the earth. The very instant the saw makes contact with the ground, however, it splits up into 13 mini scythes, the mini scythes traveling along any physical surface at the same speed as the original scythe. Each mini saw leaves its own trail of energy, the max distance being 750 meters each. The user can direct each and every saw, allowing for an enormous assembly of contours. Unlike with the last attack, the saws can run over other trails, but cannot trace back its own trail. After the saws converge at a single point, and become a single scythe once again, all of the trails will detonate, unleashing a large set explosions in unison. Each explosion spans 5 meters high, and is enough to launch anyone who is caught in the blast(s) a dozen feet into the air. Like with the last attack, the mini saws can be stopped using physical means to send the mini saws into the air, causing the trails to detonate early.
Damage(saw): Low(Adept) insignificant (Adv)
Damage(Contour): Moderate (adept) Low (Adv) insignificant (master)
Corruption(saw): 10%
Corruption(contour): 10%
Nefarious Saw
The biggest of all the other saws made by the scythe. When the user throws the scythe at any direction, it will spin far, far away, vanishing from view one post after the scythe was thrown. The post after that, the saw will return into the environment, spanning an incredulous compass of a mile in diameter, and 5 meters in width. The giant saw moves at a breakneck speed, almost in comparison to a bullet. The gigantic saw can slice through all energy projectiles that come into contact with its edge, even a Cero Oscuras. What can stop the saw, however, is an extremely durable, physical projectile/defense. The saw will sunder through the environment, before shrinking down to regular size and returning to its user. The giant saw cannot be Reeled in, nor can the ordinary saw be reeled in once it has been thrown for this specific attack. Surprisingly, the damage rate is the same as the ordinary, tainted saw, although the corruption rate is much higher.
Corruption: 65%
Tainted Net:
This is the strongest counter attack that can be used by the scythe. By letting go of the scythe, it will rotate counterclockwise on the bottom of the pole, forming a purple circle by the time the scythe fully rotates. The scythe then returns to its user, the net formed. The circle is 13 feet in radius, but can be expanded up to 100 meters at max, if desired by the user. The circle acts like an elastic barrier against physical attacks, the surface stretching out when a physical object hits it. To pierce the circle with any sharp object, regardless of the actual proportions of the inquired object, will cause the entire circle to tear into pieces, then fully dissipate. Dull objects will simply be rebounded, similar to a rubber band.
If anything non physical hits the circle, however, it will begin to envelop the projectile, its mass expanding further and further; the more the amount is fired at the circle. No matter how strong, focused, or potent the non physical projectile is, it will be successfully contained by the net. Once the projectile is fully contained in the circle, it will close in on itself, creating a sphere of purple energy. If the projectile is small, yet very powerful, the sphere will rapidly expand until its size is concurrent with the power of the attack. The sphere acts in a similar manner to a plasma globe, unleashing small tendrils of profane energy at anyone who is within the range of the sphere. The more powerful the projectile, the stronger the effects of the tendrils, as well as the longevity of the sphere. The tendrils do no damage whatsoever, only focusing on corruption. The sphere can be used as a giant kickball by both the user and the victims, regardless of how sharp the object used to hit the sphere is, or how powerful the strike. The user is not effected by hitting the sphere, but the opposite is true for anyone else.
Ranks of spheres (depending on the amount of energy contained within them.)
Weak: (Weak energy projectiles, Weak cero.)
Sphere size: 3 meters in diameter.
Range: 50 meter radius.
Corruption (per post exposed to the tendril.):10%
Longevity:1 post after the sphere was formed.
Moderate: (Ordinary Cero, moderately powered projectiles.)
Sphere size: 8 meters in diameter
Range: 100 meter radius
Corruption: 15%
Longevity: 2 posts after the sphere was formed.
Strong: (Gran Rey Cero. High powered projectiles.)
Sphere size: 17 meters diameter.
Range: 500 meter radius
Corruption: 25%
Longevity: 3 posts after sphere was formed.
Superb: (Ridiculously powerful projectiles that excel a Gran Rey)
Sphere size: 30 meters diameter
Range: 1 Km radius
Corruption: 30%
Longevity: 4 posts after sphere was formed
Hitting the sphere with any nonphysical projectile will be ineffective, the projectiles bouncing off at random angles. The best way to get rid of the sphere is to hit a home run with it, sending it flying out of the environment.
Self Profanity
When the user is at 100% corruption, if that user is not wicked in soul, shall die from the immense, profane energy that flows within. the following abilities are available (using any of these moves will fully deplete the self-corruption level at the end of the ability):
Primordial phase
The user is suddenly immersed in an enormous insurgence of purple energy, the taking the ruse of a large, purple fire-like aura that expands for 2 meters outwards. Arcs of purple lightning will course down the user's body, with the loud din of a damaged particle accelerator still activated being bellowed outwards for miles, although there is no difference in the volume whether the opponent is right next to the user, or very far away. This form lasts for the next 4 posts, upon activation. The corruption rate for all attacks are increased by 25%. The user gets two skill boosts that can be used for Durability, General Speed, Strength, or Weapon Skill. The user obtains a second scythe that is identical to the other, and is able to use all abilities that the original scythe can use. The cannot use any abilities (excluding those of the scythe) as long as this phase is active.
Æons of Death
The user throws the scythe, the scythe spinning into a purple saw whist growing to the size of a nefarious saw. The saw embeds itself at the outermost edge of the environment where the thread is taking place, stopping when only the top half of the saw protrudes from the ground. The bottom half of the saw protrudes from the sky, parallel to the upper half. The saw will race through the earth, etching a large circle from the sky and the ground, the circle encompassing the environment the thread is taking place. It takes approximately 1 post after the scythe is thrown for the circle to be completed. Once the circle is completed, the scythe will seemingly merge into both rings, the rings immuring the environment in a sky-high wall of purple, profane energy. The energy acts as a potent barrier to keep the opponents walled in. Anyone can teleport and rift inside, but it will be much harder to get out. Contact with the wall of energy will expose the opponent to high amounts of profane energy, as well as pain. If a person was to make a rift to an area outside of the circle, the rift will also be blockaded with a wall of the same energy. Opponents cannot teleport outsize unless there is a hole made in the wall.
In order to get out of the ring, the opponent must forcibly plow through the wall. A high amount of strength is needed to tear through the wall, and escape, although that person will be struck by profane energy. To hit the walls with any non physical attack, regardless of the amount of power it has, will simply ricochet off the wall. It is best to use a great amount of physical force to break through the wall, ripping an opening to get through. The hole will immediately repair itself whence this happens.
Damage: Severe (adept) Moderate (adv) Low (master)
Corruption: 35% (per post which contact is made.)
Over the span of 2 posts, the sky within the ring will begin to form purple, luminous cracks, as if it were made of glass. The cracks will grow more and more over the sky, the sound of glass cracking being heard ubiquitously within the compass of the ring. After the two posts are up, the sky will fully shatter, sending a heavy downpour of profane energy towards the earth, filling the entire span of the ring with extreme amounts of it. Everyone within the ring, other than the user, will be exposed to high levels of corruption, combined with a small amount of damage.
Damage: Moderate (Adept) Low (Adv) insignificant (master)
Corruption: 85%
Upon the completion of the attack, both the rings and the enormous ray will fully dissipate, the scythe returning to the user's hands.
Total Corruption
When anyone else is at 100% corruption, the user can do the following things to them. (Using any of the abilities fully depletes the level of corruption on the person targeted.
Heart of Malady
Upon a snapping of the fingers, the user enables the fullest extent of corruption upon the victim, causing the power of that person's attack is now vitiated by 75%, and is slowed down to a beginner's rank in general speed until the end of the post.
Spawn of Demise:
In order to activate this ability, the user simply must chant the following."PURGE"
Upon the completion of the statement, all victims who are at 100% corruption will be overwhelmed with an incredibly disgusting feeling, being forced to vomit out an enormous ray of purple energy, their eyes glowing a luminous purple as well. It takes approximately one post for the victims to fully purge out all of the profane energy that was within them. Once the energy is purged out, the victims are no longer affected by it at all. The energy ejected out by the victims slowly shape into the form of giant heads composed of the profane energy, the head having the same features as the head of the victim who has purged out the energy. A purple, whisp-like attached from the back of the heads, making it look more like a purple comet. Its bright white eyes bestow a fearsome gaze, with their mouths having a uniform, fat set of teeth, regardless if the victim has a mouth or not. Their fervid bodies can vaporize whatever it consumes. These are called Spawns of Demise. Each victim creates one of these as a result. The spawn can fly around at fast speeds, able to devour enemies whole, incinerating them inside, and self destruct in a powerful blast of purple light. Each spawn can only devour up to one person per thread.
The level and power of a spawn depends on the power of the victim that purged it.

The spawn is capable of devouring energy attacks, along with people. To stop the spawn, the opponent has to hit it with a powerful physical attack (powerful in terms to that person's relative power). Doing so will cause the head to detonate early. - Obtained From: Available at Demono for 14,999,999 Yen.
- Notes: There is only one scythe in stock.
