Shura watched for a brief moment as their attacks clashed, the energies of each causing the water around them to erupt outwards and away from them. But her mind, her thoughts, weren't on how the water changed, but rather it was focused on Hakaishin himself. Her demeanor began to shift slowly, it wasn't hesitation she felt... it was something else, something long thought lost by all including Shura.
His vortex was powerful, of that there could be no doubt with how it stopped her Zangerin, but it wasn't all-mighty. Even as he tossed aside the Zangerin, her axes had continued to spin and spin and spin just like Hakaishin's, but this time as those rings began to form she did not speak and instead bent forward slightly, placing much of her weight on her front foot before she launched herself forward.
She knew everything she needed, she needed to test things no more. Her energy erupted outwards as she soared forward, causing the ground beneath her to be ripped upwards. "Tenbatsu" The yellow ring that was formed began to darken into a more greenish color as the energy from the Zangerin and her Tenbatsu began to mix together, but there was more to what she was doing... More than just charging directly at him, she wanted to test for herself just how powerful that vortex truly was.
As she neared Hakaishin she loosed one of the twin axes at him "Zangerin" Once more she spoke the Hadō's name, though it lacked the incantation to ensure full power... that was precisely the point of it all as her form flickered out of sight to reappear behind Hakaishin, the chain now positioned to wrap around his form if he didn't move as she brought the other axe downwards from overhead "Karitorisha!"

Shura forced her way into the giant, spinning vortex guarding Hakaishin’s form in the most linear way possible – pure power. Her Tenbatsu was good, but without a Zangerin meshed on top of it, Hakaishin would think nothing more of it. After all, in a contest of strength, the stronger one wins… so her only option was to simply get stronger.
Obviously, such a mindset meant that Hakaishin could be fooled. Tricked. Deceived. He’d accept the consequences of such with pride. Any obstacle, any ill, any incident, accident, wound or mistake, he’d power his way through – that was his pride.
… His head almost spun right off of his neck with how fast he turned to look behind him, watching Shura wrap her chain around his form with the vortex trying to push it back! And while the chains managed to wrap around him, Hakaishin simply roared:
“UOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH-”
*CRACK!!!*
… Shura’s second axe cleaved deep into his skull… she’d… she’d…
…
His axe was still spinning faster and faster. Hakaishin’s grin was still there. Even a fatal blow, even death itself, wasn’t stopping him from preparing to land one, final hit. Victory and defeat could barely be determined by now, and the whole scene might’ve even been enough to cause a major headache for Shura, but if she could look past all the complexities and embrace the linear Hakaishin, his sole and singular wish… then she’d be able to draw even more power from him than she could ever imagine.

Even as he roared out she would not be deterred, she would not quit! If she quit then what was ever the point of anything she had ever done? The answer was simple; nothing. Nothing she'd ever done would've mattered if she ever quit! So the only logical conclusion was to simply not quit!
So it was that her axe landed true, splitting into Hakaishin's skull and yet.... Hakaishin did not fall. Shura's eyes narrowed down at him, as if to condemn him for not falling when struck so. He was a defiant one, he always had been... The strength within her core even before she'd become a Shinigami, the thing that had always pushed her past any 'limits' she might've had. It was him, after all, that had given her this strength... No, no that was wrong. Hakaishin hadn't given her anything, Shura had taken it from him, and she'd do it again right here!
Her muscles tensed and flexed, her feet touching the ground as she pulled down on her axe blade "Zangerin!" Hakaishin would kneel before her, he would submit himself and give her the strength she demanded... Or he would die! There was no other option, she would not be defeated... She would not lose... EVER AGAIN!
"UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHH!"
She let out her own battle cry, pulling on the chain until she could grasp the other side of it... And yanked them both backwards, aiming to cleave Hakaishin down the center and at the waist.

There it was…
Did Shura even realize that she could never kill her own spirit? Yet here she was, trying. Not thinking, doing. Doing what came naturally to her – destroying the obstacle, the enemy in front of her. Hakaishin… was proud. His heart felt at ease again, and the waters around them lowered with a rush that’d deafen both their ears.
One could not simply kill themselves. And Shura would never be able to beat herself… and that wasn’t the point. She’d succumbed to it – her deepest self, her nafs and ego, her center. She’d touched it, after years of abandonment. It felt her company once more… and Hakaishin no longer felt alone.
Do not think, Shura. Act. Act, and you shall receive.
Hakaishin merely stood in the dry open, a cracking smile as his head appears split in half. “Good… good… at last… at last…” Hakaishin cackled, “I’ve… missed you…”

The crushing waters... She'd forgotten entirely about it even being around them, and it was only the deafening crash around them that reminded her of its existence. But even so it didn't draw her attention away from Hakaishin, blood dripping down from her blades. She felt a sweet relief wash over her... a feeling she'd forgotten, a feeling she hadn't felt in... so, very, long!
That rush of adrenaline, the excitement to see blood spilled, the ecstasy of killing, the thing she was built to do. She was not a Shinigami, She was not a Human, She was a Monster! A Monster who had no equal, a Monster who crushed and killed anything and everything that stood in her way.
She raised her bloody axes horizontally, until they were level with Hakaishin's neck as he spoke of missing Shura. "Worry not, Hakaishin, We shall never be apart again." It didn't matter if she couldn't kill Hakaishin, if anything it just meant he was the perfect training partner. She needn't hold back, she could let loose completely and allow herself to succumb in the entirety, and let loose was exactly what she did as she swung her blades horizontally right through Hakaishin's neck.
Even if this was merely an avatar, a fragment of Hakaishin... Even if she couldn't kill him, it was symbolic of her return, to prove to Hakaishin that the Shura he had raised, the Shura that he had gifted his Bankai too, was truly back.
