Truth be told, Kanako had very little idea that Amaranta had participated in events with the Soul Society. The Arrancar had been much too busy with her own work, and worrying about Aiko, to really be concerned with any of it. However, following their more recent attempt to come to some form of understanding, Kanako eventually figured they could come upon another way to further strengthen that bond. After all, the better they got along, the less Khaana would have to worry... That was the idea at least.

This led to Kanako venturing over to Amaranta's portion of the house. It was close to night time, the perfect time for two women to go out and hang out. They could do whatever, really, as long as they didn't cause too much trouble for Khaana. With that, Kanako knocked on Amaranta's door. She knew Amaranta was home, she had watched the woman go in here earlier. After Kanako waited for Amaranta to answer, or until she got some confirmation that she was listening, Kanako would finally propose her desire.

"Hey Amaranta, let's go fucking hang out or something."

It was a simple request, and Kanako waited until Amaranta answered. In the realm of stubborn and unmoving, these two women were certainly the champions at it. Kanako had little doubt that Amaranta would refuse, there wasn't much reason to with a boring night at home; but Amaranta is Amaranta after all. However, the lizard Arrancar simply waited patiently. Amaranta's response would come with time.

"Hm?"

Boring night was certainly one way of describing the current tedium in the household. Khaana was, no doubt, likely off conducting her own business, making moves, and closing deals. As such, she wasn't present at the moment to keep her company. Naturally, Amaranta assumed a comfy position on her bed as she played her handheld game system with relaxed ease. Of course, the moment she died in-game, raising an eyebrow in annoyance, the leonine woman rose from her bed. What did this overgrown dinosaur want now?

Opening the door, she'd tilt her head as she gazed at her with an expression somewhere between annoyed and curious. When she heard the bold offer, she contemplated the option in her mind. Night out on the town, huh? Weighing the options in her head, Amaranta simply shrugged as she offered a nod of the head. She wasn't in the mood to refuse, and something told her this stubborn lady wasn't going to take no for an answer tonight.

"Alright. Let me get dressed."

Easier than she expected, huh?

To be honest, Kanako was surprised Amaranta agreed at all. She had been expected some sort of snide remark, or even just getting a door shut in her face. Instead, Amaranta had retreated back into her room after saying she needed to get dressed. This time it was Kanako's turn to tilt her head as she partially retreated from Amaranta's door so she wouldn't see inside... Doesn't mean she didn't sneak a covert peak before turning away. Snide aside, Amaranta was a very attractive Arrancar and who could blame Kanako? But, Kanako was still respectful enough of her roommate's privacy.

Whenever Amaranta was properly dressed and ready, Kanako led the way outside of the house; or at least walked side by side with Amaranta. Upon arriving at the front door, Kanako opened it for Amaranta only to close and lock it behind them. With that, Kanako began walking away from the house, looking upon Amaranta as she spoke to the woman.

"I thought we could go to a Barbeque place. A friend of mine recommended it to me, and I have been there once before to try it. I already called ahead to reserve us a table."

Without further preamble, Kanako touch the air in front of her she had stopped. Within moments a Garganta opened to them leading towards their destination; at least into an alleyway where they could emerge without causing immense panic. After Kanako straightened her leather jacket, she gestured for Amaranta to enter. After the woman had entered, Kanako swiftly followed.

The Garganta let out into a rather shadowed alleyway, and their sudden appearance sent local wildlife skittering. Kanako ignored the tiny things and instead led the way onto the bustling street. Late as it was, Japan was still alive with activity. As Kanako left the alleyway, Amaranta would likely notice that the woman's tail seemed to be temporarily gone. It wasn't out of fear of being noticed, but eating at restaurants with a tail was a little problematic... and this way she didn't have to worry about hitting people with her tail. After a few minutes of walking, Kanako stopped in front of the restaurant.

"Here we are... There's a bar too, we can start there to get some drinks before sitting, if you want."

"Barbeque, eh? Isn't that how we first met?"

A soft snort accompanied those words as she stepped through the fissure in space, walking side by side with Kanako. Moving the cap she decided to wear on her head, she followed the woman until they arrived at their destination. When the aroma of various grilled meats hit her nose, she licked her lips with a grin as she stepped through the door. She didn't necessarily need to consume human food nor did she possess a hunger for it the way they did, but it was delicious. Hell, it was one of her favorite things to eat in the Living Realm. Turning head to Kanako, she nodded as she walked over to the bar.

"Sounds good. What you in the mood for?"

Kanako had to tilt her head a tiny bit as Amaranta mentioned it. She was quite right, that was exactly how they first met. Randomly, in a city, and they went and got some barbeque. The situation had a bit of rightness to it all. Kanako moved up with Amaranta to the bar, where they were able to obtain their drinks if they wanted them.

"Fish, Steak, maybe some Wagyu... Whatever else seems scrumptious... Aside from that, got any good booze to recommend? Or should we just try anything that sounds good?"

Kanako looked at Amaranta as she spoke before she directed her attention to the barkeep before them. Distracted as he was by a woman who, by all rights, did not fit with in this building very well, he didn't take their orders immediately. However, Kanako soon poked the man and tilted her head at his astonishment. After that, she would let Amaranta handle the ordering of the booze. However, if Amaranta didn't take the lead there Kanako would simply request for the best alcohol they had on tap.

Once Amaranta and Kanako had their drinks, Kanako once more directed her attention to the woman next to her. They still had a bit of time before they needed to be seated, and drinking at the bar was an alright way to spend it.

"What about you, Amaranta... What are you in the mood for today?"

"Hunh. Add brisket, ribs, and sausage, and I'm sold. Neither of us is short on cash, so we can order a lot."

Amaranta didn't pay much heed to the dumbfounded barkeep. By now, it was an expected reaction. In this realm, there were three looks the civilians regarded them with. An awed gaze, a fearful glare, or a lustful glint. Gazing in the barkeep's general direction then back at Kanako, a playful grin lined her lips as she nudged the woman in the shoulder.

"Someone's got a crush."

Voicing those words with a tint of humorous playfulness to her tone, she turned to the barkeep as she started mapping out orders. Since she'd spent so much time around a bartender - Doku - it wasn't difficult to choose what she liked. She preferred his drinks, truth be told, but these would suffice for now.

"Give us the sweet and sour stuff. Sex on the beach. Mai Tai. Long Island Iced Tea. Sangria. Make em' quick."

Snapping her fingers, she'd sit against the table, toying with her cap as she leaned against a chair, turning her gaze toward Kanako.

"What made you want to hang out?"

"Eh, too thin for my tastes... Probably fragile too. I thought he was staring at you."

Kanako took the tease with an air as if she was used to being teased, but really Kanako hadn't got the feeling the man was crushing on her... Well not entirely. With Amaranta mapping out orders, Kanako took a survey of the menu that was at their disposal. Frankly speaking, their budget wasn't a concern. If there was anything they paid for while working under Khaana, it may be simply rent; if that. Otherwise, to say the two women were well endowed with dough was an understatement. Kanako continued to survey the tapestry of meats, fish, and many other side dishes besides until Amaranta finally directed her words to the Arrancar once more.

Kanako's amber-yellow eyes moved from the varied menu to Amaranta. In response, Kanako's eyes did dilate slightly as she peered at the woman. However, her question caused the oversized woman to do no more than stare for a good few moments before she shrugged her massive shoulders. For what reason did she want to hang out with Amaranta? She liked Amaranta despite her bitchiness, for one, but she also wanted to treat the woman to a nice time; and hopefully create a proper relationship.

"Mmm... Mostly the simple desire to hang out with you. Besides, we've never had a night with just the two of us; not since we met."

Kanako kept the more personal reasons close to her chest. Even if Kanako did like Amaranta, she didn't wish to let her feelings get to her like they did with Khaana. To be rash was to bite your own tail. Eventually, their drinks arrived, one of each for both women. Kanako peered at the alcoholic drinks as she noted how colorful some of them seemed to be. Kanako knew drinks could be colorful, but to see it first hand was simply a different experience.

Afterwards, Kanako ordered a heap of different kinds of meats for them to enjoy. Frankly speaking, the list, which was expansive, likely caused the individual who was taking the order pale as it seemed to only increase. Frankly speaking, Kanako covered just about everything on the menu that was meat, fish, or otherwise seemed tasty. The Arrancar also ordered a few fried foods, Okra, cucumber, and pickles. Simply speaking, they just sound interesting. Additionally, Amaranta was free to add to the order however she wanted. But, after all, Kanako was thorough. After the waiter/bartender left, Kanako gestured towards the drinks with some minor confusion.

"Which one should I try first...?"

"Since we need something to wash the barbeque down, Sangria's a good bet. Sweetness mixes pretty well with the rich flavor of all the meat."

Flexing her cap, impressed by her knowledge, Amaranta pulled one of the glasses forward, consuming a mouthful of her drink. Pleased with the flavor, the sun-kissed arrancar exhaled softly as she set the cup down. Impressed by the sweet note of fruit and an acidic tang, she stabbed a fork full of brisket and brought it toward her mouth, voraciously consuming the thin slices of meat with reckless abandon. Washing the rich meat down with Sangria, Amaranta would grin from ear to ear as she slammed the cup down on the table, ordering several more rounds along with a bottle of bourbon.

"Goddamn, that's some good stuff. Anyway, I guess your reason makes sense. We don't exactly ever cross paths in the house, and even now, I don't get your fascination with me. Outside of admiring how cool I am. Comes with the territory, so I get it. A lot of people gravitate toward me."

Kanako took her recommendations to heart as the woman began to dig in with as much gusto as Amaranta; but often Amaranta used her bare hands more than utensils. She didn't wish to accidentally eat metal if she bit down a bit too exuberantly. Regardless, Kanako consumed an ample amount of BBQ with reckless abandon. She ate and ate, eventually taking a break to indulge in some of the Sangria that Amranta had recommended. It was an interesting taste to say the least. Kanako wasn't a big fan of the bitter aftertaste of the alcohol, however she found the flavor complimentary enough that it was worth drinking after all the rich meat. Eventually, however, Kanako turned her attention to Amaranta's statement.

"Simply put, you're an attractive woman, Amaranta. I also simply want to know you better so we can better get along. And perhaps people gravitate to you because of who you are."

Kanako picked up a rack of ribs and began to eat through them, cleaning the bones off with exacting precision. She did seem to contemplate eating the bones as well, but thought better of it after a few contemplative nibbles. Eventually, Kanako tasted a few of the other alcohols. Sex on the Beach was interesting, Sangria was still okay but best to drink after consuming meat, and the rest had their own benefits. However, Kanako mostly stuck to Sex on the Beach and the Sangria due to how much meat she was consuming.

"What do you not understand about my 'fascination', as you call it?"

"I know I'm attractive, but everyone else I know thinks the same thing. Well, most of them, at least."

Amaranta didn't think one particular white-haired bastard found her attractive, but he was only one of many. There wasn't anything she did that stood out to rouse any interest in her eyes when they met. They crossed paths, they went out to eat, and that was that. Truth be told, she thought she'd leave the next day and never see her face again---and yet, Khaana had other plans in mind. That was always the point of contention. Did she invite her over? Absolutely.

Did she say she wanted her to be a permanent member of the house? Hell no. She simply gave up on arguing about it and kept her distance. Grabbing the bottle of bourbon as she popped it open, she'd down about half of it as she crossed her legs in the chair and spun around with a chuckle, filling her mouth with a spicy sausage. What did she care about it now? She was probably the persistent type. As long as she didn't step on her feet, she supposed she wasn't all that bad.

"I don't understand the need to hang out with me when I've never particularly felt the desire to hang out with you... until now. Are you fascinated by people who treat you like shit or something?"
