When J first received word of the Gotei United’s disbandment, he found it difficult to believe. Surely, no one had anticipated such an outcome—it was irrational. Who, then, would maintain the Soul Cycle? Was someone truly willing to allow the world to just… break? While he could, at times, understand the frustration that might lead one to such extremes, he possessed enough self-control to recognize the sheer idiocy of it.

It was mid-afternoon, and J was at the home of his best friend: Tsubine Shirazumi. Like normal, he ignored the requests from the guards and walked through.
