The Line in "This And" [Eliane, Edelo]

He thought it'd be a lot more quiet, once upon a time.
When he was younger and had seen pictures, the Ocean seemed so quiet and tranquil. Looking at it, he could hardly believe he had thought such a thing. It was so big, that even the subtle shifts and sighs roared and filled the air with the foamy churn of such a big thing. The sound itself was... comforting, even in weather like this.

Sitting at a bench on the beachfront in his trunks and a loose button-up, he couldn't help but look out to the stirred waters and enjoy the noise that kept his mind clear. His bud was supposed to meet him, but as it were, work had gotten things pushed again. And so he glanced at the small cooler he'd brought with him. Well, no reason he still couldn't have fun he supposed. He turned to look down the length of the beach thoughtfully. There was certainly plenty of things to do. Volleyball games down the far end, boards and tubes of all kinds to head out onto the water with. Sections of the beath filled with people making sandcastles and doing all sorts of things amidst the sand and the spray.

Hm. It was a shame Al couldn't make it out. He sighed quietly to himself and smiled ruefully, gently scratching the back of his head as he set the cooler back next to the rest of his stuff and stood up. Well, maybe a quick swim would clear his head. Peeling the shirt off and dropping it off with the cooler, he promptly strode out towards the water, careful of where he stepped as he went.

A Nice quick dip in the water, then surely he'd figure out something to occupy himself with. No reason to waste an afternoon he'd set aside right?

Edelo was startled when he suddenly heard a voice out in the water, packstroking for just a moment to stop himself, but the current and momentum kept him drifting forward, very slightly bumping the woman as he blinked a few times and gave a soft chuckle. "Oh! Sorry, I didn't see you there. Didn't see anyone swimming." He noted thoughtfully, surely he'd have seen her if she was swimming, had she just been floating in the water?

"More or less! It's been a bit of a busy summer, I wanted to at least see what the water was like before it got cold." He chuckled. Pausing as he took a moment to look her over, brows rasiing a bit. Oh, this was one of the people on detainment watch. He wasn't familiar with the deeper portions of information, that was above his level of clearance, but all the same, he made a mental note.

He wasn't really on the job, but he still made a mental note. Not that this was really anything concerning. She could hardly just swim out of the city, and glancing toward the shore, he could only imagine there was probably one or more on duty agents nearby. Hm. she was rather pretty in person. "Name's Edelo bye the way, glad to see I'm not the only one out enjoying a swim."

Edelo raised his brows at that and chuckled. ”Gotta admit, I don’t think I’d believe you if I hadn’t almost run into you.” She certainly was a distinct and pretty woman, just the sort of person people paid notice to. But well, not that he need be concerned about that stuff anyway. The comment about her being easy to not be noticed, well its not like he ever got put on those kinds of assignment anyway. Frankly the only major assignment he’s been put on was the Italy investigation. And frankly, he hadn’t made much progress.

Yea. He probably wasn’t going to be put on watch duty.

”Suppose I am now. Didn’t move here that long ago. It was only just…” He paused to consider the time frame. Actually it was more than a year ago wasn’t it? He was a bit surprised by how much time had passed. Huh. He thought he’d have .. accomplished more in a year. [color=olive] “hah, bit longer than I realized now that you mention it.” He looked over his shoulder at the shore before turning back to Eliane and offering a light smile.

”Say. You haven’t had lunch have you? I was supposed to meet a friend here but they had to bail so I have a bit extra if you’re hungry.” He offered with an earnest smile. Sure hed learned that hospitality was something he had kinda had to key back. But uh.

Running into a woman who had just been… floating in the water of her own volition. Maybe she could use a bit of friendliness.
