To be awoken from a small nap to emergency texts from a dear friend was certainly something that was more than enough to cause Kanako immense concern. Kanako would have liked to rush to Aiko's immediate aid, to go to her friend so she may keep her safe and comfort her where possible. Frankly, the Arrancar had almost done exactly that and rushed heedless to help Aiko. But, reason and instinct overtook her emotional reactions.
As much as Kanako would have loved to immediately go straight to help Aiko, the woman lived in Karakura. Not only was Kanako likely not allowed in there, it was very possible her presence within the city would only make things worse; no matter how much Aiko could advocate for Kanako. The only thing Kanako could really do was to send texts to make sure the woman was okay, and wait for a reply.
Suffice to say, after many back and forth texts, and one very agitated Arrancar barely able to calm down, Kanako and Aiko agreed on a place to meet outside of Tokyo. This area was one not too distant from the relative safety of a city, but in an area where Kanako could take a Garganta to be as close to Aiko as possible within moments. Additionally, because of the circumstances, it was likely a public area. All she needed was a text of readiness... Once it arrived, Kanako left within moments.
Kanako emerged from a Garganta that appeared next to Aiko, or in an alleyway near where they were meeting. Once there, Kanako didn't hesitate to give the woman a hug as long as Aiko didn't refuse in some way that the Arrancar would understand; aka, something very obvious. With Kanako kneeling to give Aiko a proper hug, she wasn't terribly overwhelming as far as height... for now. Additionally, the moment Kanako saw Aiko, the woman's slit pupils dilated widely to take in more of the woman; to ascertain her physical condition. Additionally, Kanako let a gentle silence occupy them before she spoke, to allow Aiko time to speak of she wished. Afterwards, however, Kanako would unseal her lips.
"I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner... I would have been by your side the moment you sent your first text if not for... Well, I'm sure you understand. Tell me anything you can tell me that wasn't in your texts, please. I wish to know what my friend has been entangled in."

Aiko returned the hug as she wasn't too surprised that Kanako would want to squeeze her after the ordeal she has been through. But, despite the physical affection, she still had a more stern and serious expression on her face. It was a look of contempt as she scowled and looked Kanako in her eyes.
"You seem smaller....good for you."
Trying to sound more cheerful, it was a half-hearted attempt, but she was still in a piss bad mood. So, she sighed and nodded along with the words Kanako said as she apolozied for not being there.
"Don't worry about it. It isn't your fault."
Her voice was flat as she gave Kanako a pat on the shoulder. It wasn’t meant to be dismissive, but Aiko’s mind was elsewhere, clouded by frustration and exhaustion.
Another sigh escaped her as she glanced around, her body language tense and guarded.
"And I'm not sure where to begin, so let's walk and talk."
Pulling her hood up, Aiko looked around as if weary people were following her and motioned for Kanako to keep moving.

Aiko certainly seemed to be in a rather horrible state, all things considered. Additionally, Kanako knew that scowl, while potent, wasn't for the Arrancar before Aiko. With Kanako arising from her knees, and disregarding Aiko's comment about her smaller stature as she wasn't actually taller, Kanako tilted her head somewhat as she looked at the woman. Don't worry about it? Too late, already worried about it. However, Kanako did acquiesce to Aiko's request and put the specific worry on the back burner and focused on Aiko. Truth be told, Kanako was deeply worried for Aiko's safety, because her place being burnt down like that was no accident.
"I only wish I could have been at your side sooner."
After Kanako stood, resuming her full height, she followed Aiko closely. While Aiko was wary, looking every direction her eyes could reach, Kanako's other senses were on high alert; energy, smell, hearing, and anything else that she could use to suss out anything that may pose a threat. However, Kanako's eyes mostly remained on Aiko. Aiko was likely Kanako's only true friend, and she was determined to keep her safe.
"What will you do now, Aiko? You seethe with frustration, and I doubt rest has been available... Shouldn't... Shouldn't you briefly leave this place behind, create distance between you and those who burnt down your home?"
Kanako stared at Aiko for a bit longer, only briefly adjusting her gaze to glare at someone who was staring at the pair of them; putting all the force of her intent on that individual for a brief moment. It was long enough to frighten, but no more. Afterwards, Kanako rested one of her large hands upon the woman's shoulder with all tenderness.
"I'll help you how I can, Aiko. Be it a place to rest your head, or something far more... destructive. But, we should not act with haste, else we shall bite our own tails."

Could of, would have, should of. There was a slight bit of irritation in those words as Aiko winced in response to them. She could feel her mood getting the best of her even though she knew Kanako only meant well. Spitting on the ground in disgust, she gathered her senses for a few seconds before looking back up blankly at Kanako.
"Well....I guess briefly leaving can't hurt."
The words felt hollow, but her mind was already racing, her gaze drifting to her phone. She began scrolling through her contacts, seeing the familiar names of family and friends. Her eyes flickered with a hint of life, but it was quickly overshadowed by a scowl that settled across her face.
"But I am worried that something might happen to my family. Not sure if I could live with myself if the trouble I'm in has something happen to them."
Rubbing her temples, Aiko let out a sigh, her weariness creeping back in. After a few moments, she posed the question on her mind.
"Well, if you did take me somewhere, where would it be? I need somewhere that gets cell service and I'd be scared if we went to Hueco Mundo we'd have more trouble than we do here."
Her words trailed off, leaving her staring at Kanako, unsure of what kind of answer she truly wanted. The uncertainty of her situation weighed heavily on her, and she sought something—anything—that could ease the turmoil inside.

Aiko's irritation and hollowness wasn't lost out on Kanako. However, the woman did understand enough to know that Aiko's actions weren't pointed towards Kanako herself, just the overall shitty situation. What Kanako figured was the easiest of solutions was to go into hiding, her family too frankly. But... such a thing was easier said than done. Kanako contemplated everything that they could do in this situation, as far as Aiko's safety and that of her family's... It's not like Kanako had any pull or anything, but Kanako at least knew she could do something.
"Maybe your family could leave the country unannounced... Go into hiding for a little bit until this all blows over. But for now, so we can stay within cell service, I have an idea where we can go."
Kanako carefully guided Aiko to an even more isolated area where she could open up a garganta in peace. Without preamble, or even asking, Kanako picked up Aiko like she was lighter than air. Perhaps it was in an effort to reassure the woman... but really, in Kanako's mind, this was the best way to keep Aiko safe. After Kanako looked around to make sure they weren't being followed, she walked through the garganta with Aiko in tow, and made sure that it was closed behind them as soon as possible.
Within a short period of walking through an odd space, light emerged from the end of the tunnel, as it were, and Kanako emerged in front of an abode; and a relatively sizable one at that. It was in the country side of Japan, so Aiko wasn't far from family; but the location was remote enough to help isolate them some. Kanako carefully placed Aiko down upon her feet and moved towards the door. With a few clicks of locks being opened, Kanako opened the door and carefully ushered Aiko inside.
"This is where I live, not Hueco Mundo if that's surprising enough. Too much sand... Khaana might be around, my landlord and boss, not sure about my room mate though. We should be safe enough here, for now at least. Do you want anything to eat...? I'm sure I can whip up something tasty for you."
After Kanako made sure the door was locked behind them, the woman did have to visibly hunch over a bit in the foyer of the house. But, once Kanako guided Aiko to what was the kitchen and dining area, it was obvious things had been resized for her Amazonian height. If Aiko did want something to eat, Kanako would proceed into the kitchen, the tip of her tail moving to gently take hold of Aiko's hand; in an obvious desire to keep the woman close. Kanako certainly wasn't subtle in any way shape or form, but she did care deeply for Aiko. Aiko may not swing Kanako's way, but she didn't need that to care for the woman.
"Anything you want in particular to eat?"

Aiko could feel her chest tightening with all the anxiety and uncertainties weighing down her mind. She was scared of what her future might look like if her parents died, if she became homeless and the potential threat of having to look over her shoulder for the rest of her life. It made her question if she needed to get stronger to keep herself and the people she loved safe, but her thoughts were put on the back burner as Kanako scooped her up.
Her eyes widened momentarily, and though a flash of fear crossed her face, it soon eased as they moved through the vortex. She closed her eyes tightly, bracing herself, and when she opened them again, they were in front of a large house. She exhaled softly, grounding herself as she looked around.
"I don't really care. I'm not too picky right now. Just find something with some iron, in it as that might give me some extra energy for my blood powers."
Glancing around, Aiko felt the familiar urge to withdraw, not wanting her problems to invade someone else’s life. She looked back at Kanako, her tone a mix of caution and fatigue.
"And I’d rather not drag my problems to your doorstep if you’ve got a landlord. Who knows what she’d say..."
Her voice trailed off as she attempted to guard herself, feeling the weight of her struggles even here in this unfamiliar, temporary sanctuary.

"Steak it is then. Can't think of anything better for iron besides some types of fish and shellfish."
Kanako further ushered them inside before she had Aiko sit down on a stool in front of what was clearly a bar. It wasn't big or grand like a bar was, but it was a good enough bar for a big kitchen like this one. From there, Kanako mixed something like a non-alcoholic Adrenal cocktail for Aiko(but without the adrenal part). It was full of fruit juices, some sea salt, and various other things that were meant to help with stress. It may not be to Aiko's taste, but she placed the drink in front of Aiko anyways after she was done mixing it.
Afterwards, Kanako drew out a slab of steak from the fridge, already seasoned and put away to rest. Without further ado, Kanako left the steak on the counter and went out back briefly to start up the grill. She returned within a few minutes and the large Arrancar went about preparing sides for the meal. She prepared some fresh broccoli, along with some rice, and got those going while she waited for the grill to heat up. Within 20-ish minutes Kanako presented a plate of hot food in front of Aiko. Steak, broccoli, and some rice for the woman to enjoy; and it looked prepared by someone with skills that likely didn't match how Aiko looked at Kanako. She asked for iron rich meal, and Kanako did her best to provide. Kanako placed a steak knife and a fork to the sides of the plate and also provided Aiko with a napkin.
"Here... It's not much, but I've gotten pretty good at cooking recently. Eat what you can, the steak should really help with the iron you want; the broccoli too. And the rice is just there because it goes good with steak... You don't have to eat the rice if you don't want."

In normal circumstances? Sure, Aiko would be loving the environment and taking everything in. But the only thing her restless mind could think of was her situation. She spaced out, looked out the window and wondered what was going on with her friends, her family and even neighbors if they had been caught up in her issues. It irritated she didn't have a definite reach of power to be able to just deal with the situation.
Letting our a resigned sigh, her eyes eventually came back to life when Kanako finished cooking. Despite how grim things were, the human body still needed fuel to keep going. And as she heard er stomach growled, she reclunatly decided to give into her instincts and smiled at Kanako faintly.
"Thank you, I'll let ya know how it is."
She dug in, surprised by how good the food tasted. After days without a proper meal, her instincts kicked in, and she unconsciously tore into the meat, savoring the iron-rich flavor. Closing her eyes, she let out a small burp, feeling a spark of renewed energy as her body absorbed the nutrients. Her wings even gave a small twitch, as if responding to the energy boost.
Refueled, Aiko turned her blood-red gaze to Kanako, her voice steadier now.
"So, what’s the deal with your roommate and landlord? I’m not in the mood for surprises, so I’d rather know what to expect if we run into them."
Her tone was cautious but direct, a hint of her usual assertiveness returning as she prepared herself for whatever might come next.

Even though Aiko didn't verbally state her enjoyment of the food Kanako had prepared for her, but the woman did visibly look somewhat rejuvenated after finishing off the meal. Luckily for her, the meal was iron rich! Kanako then turned more of her attention to Aiko's question as she washed the dishes. Amaranta and Khaana... How would she characterize them?
"Well, Amaranta is..."
Kanako got a look on her face as she tried to think of how to describe Amaranta to someone who may not know her... Interesting? Unkind? Kind of a bitch? No no... That wouldn't work. Kanako pondered over it for a minute or two before she finally relented and did her best to explain.
"Amaranta, that's my roommate, she is... something. She tends to be on the rough side, but I'm hoping she's not home just yet; albeit she may avoid contact even if she was home. She's like a cat, really..."
Kanako continued to wash dishes, using her tail in aiding the washing process, albeit she could only do so much with it. In the meantime, she figured out how to describe Khaana without sounding too... infatuated. Kanako does have a certain way she feels about the woman, and is unsure how to describe it without adding in her personal feelings... Perhaps it was best to stick to the facts.
"Khaana, my landlord and boss, owns the place. She actually had about half of the house renovated to accommodate my size. She's a nice woman, a bit rough around the edges, and seems... Sorry. She's a good woman and gave me a home when I had none. But I don't think she's home at the moment either."
