Sacrificial Lambs to the Slaughter [Safira, Open to 2]
Fri Aug 23, 2024 10:25 am
SAFIRA
All as they agreed. She did delight when people upheld their ends of bargains and Kurosaki Ichigo had given her the means to enact a swift judgment on the ones that called themselves "gods". This fragile illusionary world that they had made would all regress into chaos by her whim. So she descended from above, waving her hand to her companions in the process.
"Scatter, the lot of you. If any of you do not kill your weight in shinigami by the end of this I'll kill you myself."
She declared to the followers. Her own intentions were plain and simple. Safira had one goal when she landed on the ground which was to kill as many shinigami as possible. Quantity was far more important for her desires than quality, and so an array of green sigils appeared behind the falling arrancar that shot a barrage of light to carpet bomb the barracks below her.
Once her feet touched the ground, she stretched her awareness out. Her senses seeking out the weak clusters of shinigami that she could fell in an instant rather than the powerful opponents. The chess board needed to be emptied of pawns for her to win the game.

YUUTO HISAKAWA | STORMSWORD
Something had been bothering him all day, and it had only been now when his instincts and suspicions had been confirmed. It didn't even take him five minutes to ready himself and be off, surging through the Seireitei like a ghost, following the traces of energy emitted, the sounds of screams, and trails of debris. Azure light crackled silently along the edge of his blade and through his body, anything coming across him being cut into dozens of pieces.
While he did not stop to check on everyone that he came across, he was quick to try and clear up as many of the invading forces as he could before he reached his main target. Every day he had spent hoping for the best, and preparing for the worst. It took him little time to reach the stage of such a grandiose show, and the Stealth Force's Captain seemed to appear out of nowhere, sword still drawn, umber eyes burning with resolve as he stared down this threat.
"Identify and explain yourself, now, while you still have a tongue to speak with."

Byakuya Kuchiki
“Hm.”
The newly felt spiritual pressures that appeared in the Seireitei would alert everyone. Even those retired from duty should still be willing to protect the realm they call their own. Byakuya stood up from his meal, leaving it half eaten and grabbed his zanpakuto. Unleashing his senses, Byakuya utilized his reikaku as he began making his way through the Seireitei to find any significant energies to clear out among the invaders. As it happens, he noticed one close enough to handle and vanished in a burst of speed to shunpo in that particular direction.
During his travel, Byakuya sensed a familiar energy approaching, and a small twitch at the edge of his lips gave hint to a silent appreciation of that man’s skill. Of course, Yuuto Hisakawa beat him here. If he hadn’t, he’d be disappointed.
A final shunpo landed him in the area of a green haired Arrancar. He turned to face her, a single glance toward his ally before focusing in on this creature in front of him. The nobleman kept a calm, collected demeanor, as was expected of Byakuya Kuchiki. And since he was not a member of the Gotei, he would keep his silence.

SAFIRA
Oh? Two at the same time, she was not expecting these sudden arrivals of this caliber. It wasn't like she was the strongest of the bunch, and she had sent her followers off to make their own chaos. For two esteemed "gods" such as these to choose little ol' her must mean she was special, or they thought she was an easy target. One was silent and hard to read, weaker than the one that spoke to her though, he seemed peculiar.
Safira decided that she'd entertain the man that spoke to her though, she was in a pleasant mood right now, and it gave her some time to grow a seed into a ripe fruit. She began to cultivate the formation of the Peri, obscuring it within her body so that she could raise her hands and make them visible. An act of surrender or pause for consideration, maybe. Even though her gesture said one thing, the poison within her the thick reiatsu that surrounded her.
While the two in front of her likely wouldn't succumb to its effect, it did make it difficult sense too much about her like a black hole distorting anything they sensed about her spiritual energy. Reading her was as consistent as trying to predict the wind.
"I'm Ouroboros... One of the hollows that has to enact the will of the strongest hollow, that being Kurosaki over there."
She said, using her thousands of years old hollow name rather than her modern ones. It probably didn't matter what she called herself to these people but avoiding her identity helped her displace ire. It was more fun to try to enthrall their interest in what the power dynamic of this group could be, what were their goals, why was this happening?
So many questions for this sudden invasion by otherwise docile hollows until now. It must be frustrating, no?

He didn't recognize the name Ouroboros from an actual person, but, he did recognize the other. Kurosaki. So, Ichigo was here -- good information to have. Another of the many choices he would have to make by the end of this day, and likely into the next. But, even as Byakuya arrived, Yuuto did not take his eyes off the woman for a moment. Even in the small amount of time that he waited for further elaboration, Yuuto had already assumed that such a courtesy would not be granted.
In an instant, Yuuto's body flickered as he disappeared in a flash, with an energy signature coming down from above, its source wreathed in lightning as it sought to crash down onto Ouroboros. But, that source was not Yuuto himself. Rather, it was another figure, one with storm-grey eyes, with two locks of hair wrapped in bandages and a white kimono -- Yuuto's Zanpakuto Spirit, Raiu, had been called to the front.
After, the invisible spiritual power of the Captain erupted and escalated, having activated his Shikai from the shadows, another burst of lightning surging from behind Safira, azure-laden blade seeking her throat as Yuuto went to impale her from behind. In such a crisis, he held no quarter, and would use any and all resources he had in order to protect his home and those he loved.

Byakuya Kuchiki
Byakuya thought there was something eerily familiar about the reiatsu he was feeling. The last time that kid invaded the Soul Society, he won, and this time he arrived stronger, with an army at his back, and much more knowledge of the Soul Society. Byakuya knew the damage that could be done to the Soul Society by Ichigo Kurosaki could be catastrophic. Still, he would deal with the problem in front of him.
Byakuya did not recognize the name either, but he also cared less than a little about her identity. She was an Arrancar and she was breaking into his world to cause problems. There would be no mercy here. He placed one foot a bit farther back and reached to his zanpakuto, pulling Senbonzkura from its sheath. Though he made no other movement, yet, and spoke no words, he continued his observation.
Reiatsu like this always meant they were hiding something, but what was it?

This was how it was going to be then? It was frustrating to her the whimsical nature of these shinigami. With her seven heads focused internally in this sealed form her ability to process information far outperformed most others, she could contemplate the situation in an instant. That two shinigami of this calibre would prioritise her while her companions run amok and cause destruction, it would make no difference to the amount of lives she can take which she would demonstrate to them.
Their vanity would be the undoing of what they meant to protect with this - the stronger one was her priority, if the other one wanted to do nothing but silently watch on as moral support then so be it. He could witness the glorious sight of the supreme hollow. As Yuuto made his offensive, it would be rendered pointless. A two pronged attack meant nothing when her method of dealing with the manifested spirit inhibited the captain's attack was omnidirectional.
The layer of her kelipah that was her protection became a wave of pure explosive force that meant to blew everything away from her, Hema. The wave of pressure levelled the surrounding buildings until there was a crater with the only level ground being what she was standing on from the explosion. It had one purpose, to buy her enough time to utter two words.
"Fall, Armilos."
Her crown broke into a black, covering her from head to toe and leaving a silhouette that grew into a fully developed woman until it revealed her in the released form. Her Olam Ha'zeh, Sheol. The stakes were in full motion now. Her new form hastened her ability to produce her fruits, and the first Peri came into bloom with an orb hovering around her. The captain that attacked her should feel privileged that this blessing was created for him alone, the one she had recognised as the greater threat by his spiritual pressure.
It was airborne but the fact that only one person could suffer its effects and its short duration only counteracted the issues by making it just as potent otherwise. The black mist that surrounded her had one purpose, if he got close to her and inhaled then he would find himself unable to move. It didn't travel very far due to quickly becoming inert but if she could remain in his vicinity then it made it easy for her to keep him trapped in a cycle of exposure.
"Tell me, shinigami, what do you fight for?"
Safira asked of them. Did they fight for glory, did they fight to protect the weak, did they fight for wealth? It was the only thing she wanted to know so that she could make their defeat all the more miserable as she began to prepare her second Peri.

YUUTO HISAKAWA | STORMSWORD
In the wake of the sudden eruption of power, Raiu was blown away, his attack nullified as he vanished in an instant. Meanwhile, Yuuto's instincts screamed at him to retreat. An energy platform manifested in front of him as he closed in on Safira, and right as the miasma erupted, he used the platform to rebound himself backwards tens of feet. Instincts and experience kept him from inhaling while he was within what he could only assume was its effective range, only taking a breath when he felt he was safe.
In launching himself backwards, one of the rings from his Shikai moved in front of him, and, channeling a burst of electricity, Yuuto swung his sword, sending a spear of lightning through the object, causing it to suddenly, rapidly, pick up its speed as it surged toward her. He didn't bother giving the Arrancar a response. He had figured that it was primarily an attempt to get him to speak, and, by proxy, force him to inhale what he immediately would assume to be some kind of poison.
Beyond that, he had little intention of giving her any kind of information. To anyone with sense, she was powerful, but, power came in all forms. A probing question such as that could open the way for all manners of psychological warfare. He didn't have the time for this. He needed to focus. The ring in front of him quickly faded into nothing, obscuring itself into the background, from both view and sense. A safety measure, on the off-chance she tried to attack him head-on with more smog.
If she did, she would be swiftly punished. But, nevertheless, that opening attack spelled trouble. It didn't move far, but, it restricted close-range options. As much as he wanted to make this quick, his next steps needed to be careful. The orange sky was slowly becoming obscured with dark clouds, as rain began to fall, the quiet rumble of thunder echoing ominously.

Byakuya Kuchiki
A sheet of thin reiryoku appeared in front of him just before the explosion would have reached him, having abandoned naming the kido all together. However, the shield quickly cracked under the pressure of the incoming explosion, so Byakuya took a step back, vanishing in a burst of speed, and displaying his elite mastery of shunpo as he reached a distance beyond the Arrancar’s explosion. Of course, this gave her exactly what she wanted, time to unleash her true, vile form.
Now standing at the edge of the explosions reach, buildings having been laid to waste between his new location and the Arrancar, Byakuya pointed two fingers toward the woman. “Bakudo Sixty One, Rikujōkōrō,” Byakuya called out a second kido and six rectangular sheets of reiryoku circled the woman and rapidly closed in around her. If struck, she would be held in place long enough for Yuuto’s spear of lightning to hit its target as well. Though, Byakuya was not yet done.
"Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six,” the man said, once again pointing at Safira. “Bakudo Sixty One, Rikujōkōrō.” It wasn’t often that he chose to utilize an incantation for his kido, but this chaos needed to end quickly. A full powered Rikujōkōrō was utilized this time, either immensely reinforcing the first or attempting to hold her down once more.

SAFIRA | SEVEN HEADS
Was this their strategy? So be it. She would respond by informing the stronger of the two that he wasn't the only one here that could do tricks like what he started this battle with. From behind her two circular sigils appeared and gave the shape of two dragons' poking their heads out. Not too far but just enough that their open jaws could be seen that looked more like marble statues than anything else. From those jaws a wave of green Ohr (Cero) in the form of flames spewed to overwhelm the spear of lightning and press towards the fifth division captain, scorching the ground in their wake.
They did not linger though. Disappearing as quickly as they had appeared while she remained bound, quite content almost to stay like this. Why should she worry about them getting close to her? For one of them it could be a death sentence and the other, well, he was proving to her that he preferred a similar approach as she did. She hoped that his pride wasn't going to be his downfall if he was going to compete against her in his current state though.
Gimatria was what made her differ from others a great deal. To remove the requirement to fire Ohr from her body, she did not need to point and aim. She had to conjure her sigils and fire it from them, a demonstration would do well to help the quiet one get the idea. She smiled at him from her spot, her open mouth letting her senses operate at their maximum effectiveness as her snake features were put to use, and she could "taste" all the souls in the wide area around her. Her spiritual senses lacked any great depth or ability to penetrate into specific targets to try to understand their intentions or what have you, they were best suited for keeping aware of the entire battlefield.
A battlefield that was littered with injured or weaker souls. So she manifested a sigil above all of them, even above Byakuya and Yuuto's heads despite the fact that they would have no issue dodging it. This was a statement after all. It was not to hurt them, she did need them to figure out what all those other points of her spiritual power were though that they couldn't see with their eyes. Each one a shinigami that wasn't as fast or as strong as them, and Safira doubted they could handle even her weakest beam of light when she was in this form.
"I'll spare half of them if you relinquish your spell."
They did not give her an answer which was a shame. Safira hoped for their sake that they were here for glory rather than to protect the weak that she came to massacre. She did hope that a feeling of futility came to mind while she held the knife to all those throats. Even if they bound her, they would not deny her. She reigned supreme. Of that there was no question and as the second fruit bloomed and her first head reached its maturity, she would make them regret every second of her precious time that they took from her.
