“Jiyan,” he corrected her when his name was said wrong. He was not meaning to be rude. He was just stating a fact, so she would say his name right.

“Not anymore; I work solo. Are you affiliated with anyone or are you working solo?” He was mimicking her question, but was honestly curious. He bent over to be more at her height and looked her straight in the eyes, which was quite a lot at his height.

"If I have not upset you, then why do you look so upset?"

Stella watches the display as she realizes she's either very short or he's very tall. Actually no, she knew he was tall because that's one of the first things she had noticed. Taking a look at him she'd give a weak smile before explaing her feelings. She truly was not angry with him. She was angry with her self.

"I'm with the Vandenreich."

Listening for the next question she realized there was a misunderstanding. Was she really that easy to read, he could tell she was frustrated at herself? He thinks it's him and for that, Stella feels bad as it isn't his fault. Sje didn't want anyone to think that she was mad at them. Other than that green haired spawn of hate that she had to deal with soon or later.

"I'm frustrated with myself, not you. It's because I'm weak."

‘The Vandenreich.’ Jiyan did not recognize the name, but something itched in the back of his head about it. He must have heard of it somewhere, but where? No matter. He was more concerned with the down expression this young woman held.

"Hm..." Jiyan pat the top of the young woman's head. "I can understand your frustration... So, train,” Jiyan crossed his arms and standing straight. “If you're weak, then training is the only path. What have you done to get stronger?”

Stella would think about it. If she was annoyed about the saying she didn't show it as she listened to him. Since she had suffered that defeat, she has done nothing but tirelessly fight and fight. She had taken mission after mission, and refused to give up. She even went to Japan to just hunt hollows through Minmami city outskirts. She cared little for her own well being right now.

"I've been going on mission after mission. Fighting hollow after hollow."

She really had, and in her free time she would work on her physicality. She would go for runs, work outs, exercising constantly. She had even though of putting herself into a boxing gym and learning more about hand to hand combat.

"The path is just slow."

Jiyan examined the woman, looking her up and down. Suddenly, his hand was under her chin, making her look up at him. He took a good, hard look. Then his hand was on her shoulders and upper arms, giving her a firm squeeze. Nothing in his demeanor said he was “copping a feel,” but it could easily come off that way. In reality, he was checking her athleticism, the strength in her muscles.

“Your physique is exceptional; you’re lacking in spiritual capability then?”

Stella would reflexively pull away slightly when he started touching her. Feeling a little strange, but hearing what he had to say after he did it. She would shrug as she wasn't entirely sure if she was actually all that physically gifted. She did agree that she wasn't as spiritually gifted as many of the other quincy she has met.

"H...how were you able to tell that so easily?"

Jiyan withdrew his hand, raising an eyebrow at her reaction. He wasn’t used to someone being disgusted at his touch; fear was the more common response, but he had no intention of harming her. So, that was strange… and so was her question.

“Are you unable to? I’m a fighter… Any experienced fighter should be able to tell how fit someone is by a glance… How new are you to the battlefield?”

"I've been fighting hollows from time to time for a few years. probably like atleast 5, and I just the vandenreich within the last year or so. Is it a bad thing I'm not able to just look at someone and tell how strong they are?"

Stella wasn't sure if that was something she should already be able to do. It seemed very complicated and she wasn't entirely sure how to even try to go about that. She was able to feel some peoples energy, but they didn't have to try very hard to suppress themselves from the red head.

"I wouldn't say it was a bad thing, but having the skill to analyze your opponents is always helpful for a warrior. It takes years of training and experience. Have faith, train. You'll get there." Jiyan raised an eyebrow at the question. He found her worry about that particular skill was strange. It took him over a decade to get to the level he is now. "What is this Vandenreich you mentioned? You joined them?"

"It's an organization found in The City of Lights. There's different branches with people who do different things. For example, I primarily handle hollows and other spiritual beings. Usually ones that are causing trouble for people so I have to stop or exercise them."

Stella spoke as she explained her job to the man. She was surprised someone so experienced could have never heard of the Vandenreich. From what she understood, even if you didn't like the vandenreich you would still know about it.

"So I guess you just go by yourself? Handling stuff on your own?"
