(In)festive hounds [ Tento | Kohaku ]

Tento did his best to hide his chuckle from Kohaku’s facial expression. Maybe if he had the chance, he would drag it out a bit. That bit of a surprise and essence of ‘yeaaaaah…imma just go’, was a thing that the goofy side of himself could not help stirring up at times, especially when he got the chance of getting it from someone who knew who could be a bit interesting in their reactions. A sound came. Some sort of a blended twist of a pig laughing and a rough horse hacking breath through a nose. What the heck was that?

Tento let the subtle shift of his eyes move as Kohaku let out a snort. Of all things! Hahahhaa. No laughs or weakened smiles would come from him though. Tenti was in the middle of a conversation and he wanted to buy something. With a deliberate act of not noticing the glance to Kohaku, an idle adjustment of his hold of the thief bounded in reshi, before nodding his head. It was a fair bit overvalued but not something he would complain about. He was aiming to leave ‘change’ anyway. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out some coin, handing it to the woman. “I am in a bit of a rush so don't worry about change this time”.

With that he turned after gathering his sweet sweet snacks. Walking back down the path alongside Kohaku before talking after a bit of distance passed. “Cool lady, those things are delicious. Well, I guess I should get this guy out of here then get back to patrolling”.

In leaving the extra money, the old woman glanced to Kohaku again, who just nodded with a small smile. Once their transaction was over, Kohaku continued on with Tento. Kohaku was always on alert when walking around, glancing left and right, and observing almost every move the people around him made. He glanced back to the man they were dragging like a dog on a leash to make sure he wasn’t doing anything stupid. Satisfied, he stayed silent until Tento spoke up.

“Yeah, you Gotei should do better keeping this kind of trash in check,” Kohaku said, glaring at the thief. “Either way, thanks for your help, I guess. See you around?”

Well this day was a bit amusing and interesting. Tento got to be present within the Rukongai again, met an audible man, and had a thief to bring back today. It was a bit of a lackadaisical day for him, he did not do much for the people or acted much as a Shinigami. But, good.

As tight Kohaku may seem, he was alright from the very little exposure Tento had about him. He looked a little bit like a chicken with his head cut off mixed with a young pup with something to prove. Not afraid to bite. There was more to him though, it was something that Tento could not tell, but he wanted to see more of this fellow to find out hopefully. There were many questions still to be answered that Tento was not sure was of a concern to be found out.

“That is true. Could patrol and be present around more. Not everyone has a sharp eye like you looking out for them”, Tento said glancing at the thief then Kohaku. “Hopfully in the future we can prepare the people of the Rukongai to handle issues like this too though”. With that Tento flashed stepped away. Appearing ontop of a roof with the thief dragged behind him. “Well, good to meet ya Kohaku, keep up the good work”. Flashing away again, Tento went on to drop off this man. And maybe follow Kohaku a bit from the shadows too…
