Re: Dinner and a Show [Reida, Safira]

SAFIRA | RED DWARF
If she insisted. The arrancar might've pointed out that the redhead's blade was directed at Safira herself in this very moment so there was no reason to assume that it wouldn't be aimed at her in the future, if Reida followed in her path that knife would be in tow.
"Very good, playing to your strengths. Though I'm sure you quite the menace up close as well."
She praised with the fond memory of the rage-filled adolescent surfacing from years before this moment. Though turning her attention back to the battle proved to be a fatal error in judgment when their plan was executed and Klein tossed a handful of gold into the air that quickly became what she would only call a small supernova that made her avert her eyes.
How dare that little runt make her turn away, let alone conceal something like this from her.

"I ain't bad at it. Just not how I like to handle things."
Reida was rather glad her attention hadn't been on the battle in front of them, given the sheer amount of light that was pouring their direction. Even so, she did have to look away for a few moments before she returned to the last adjustments to her gun. Now she just had to adjust for distance.
"Looks like yer friend's got this handled well."
Not that she really expected the arrancar to actually like the man who'd just nearly blinded the two of them. She simply used the term as shorthand for any other far more realistic term; "accomplice" would have probably been more accurate.

"Quite."
She waited out the light before turning her attention back towards the scene and saw the charred remains of the hollow. What a pitiful demonstration, the lack of direction or control that Uroboros displayed was humiliating and pathetic. A wild beast without any will to guide it.
"Oh. It seems they have clued onto the vulnerability. How fortunate."
Seeing that the redhead had gone for a decisive strike against the floating ornament in the moment of reprieve from the gigantic hollow's assault. A shame that it didn't cost him his life in the process, Safira wouldn't mind one less do-gooder in the world that would get in the way but she couldn't ask for too much now.

"You already knew?"
Reida didn't really think it was a big deal if the Arrancar was in fact witholding information from her "ally" in this situation. Not like Reida was being completely honest about herself, after all. It was more just her confirming whether or not that was, in fact, the case.
"They're doin' mighty impressive."
Her finger, however, had still come to rest just outside the trigger guard of her gun, aimed in carefully as she watched the battle a bit more closely through the scope she'd attached. Most people probably would've had trouble with that, given the distance, but she was a trained professional.
Well, trained amateur was probably more accurate.

"Of course."
Safira pointed at the ornament which the redhead had made the target of his hostility to make sure the other woman could spot it.
"Hollows only die if you destroy their mask but Uroboros has no such mask over its face, that obnoxious floating satellite is the most likely candidate for its "mask"... and I never had such a thing in the first place."
The petite arrancar decided that there was no harm in sharing the connection she had to the target. Safira was far weaker than she should be from reputation so helping her sapling put the pieces together would be beneficial to understand why they were observing this encounter.

"Lookit you. Must've been a real big girl if that's what you were throwin' around."
Any illusion that this small Arrancar had genuinely been some innocent weakling hadn't actually been meaningfully in place since their first conversation. Reida just didn't have a reason to press the issue or even care about it, so she let it be. If attention was being drawn to it, though, she'd naturally comment on it.
"Then what? Ain't gonna be good for you if they just kill it."

"It would be a problem if they killed it, yes. An unfortunate development which would need to be navigated but by no means the end of the world."
Safira tried to alleviate any of the concerns her sapling might've had. After all, if she couldn't regain her former power then it would make it harder for the woman to exercise her revenge, and Safira would hate to deprive her of the opportunity to rampage senselessly in her bloodlust.
"Looks like there's nothing to worry about though."
She didn't pay any attention to the fact that the Quincy's arm had been amputated in his valiant efforts. Her slitted eyes were focused entirely on Klein and his delicate work.

Unlike Safira, Reida tensed visibly as she saw Alastair's arm lost. There was no small part of her that wanted to help, given how much he meant to her. He'd be alright though. She believed in him, even now, but that was just a way to convince herself that it wasn't something she could have prevented in some way or another.
In the end, she could only bite her lip until blood was drawn. She could only stare in agonizing inaction, wondering when the rest of the Vandenreich would show up. She didn't have any way of getting their attention. She couldn't tell this little creature with her to go do it. She just had to put some faint trust in the arrancar that'd fought at his side, she guessed.
Reida couldn't really care less about what he did right now. She'd just pull the trigger if her accomplice said to.

"Something bothering you?"
She was amused by the display of sentimentality. It was so much like her to respond like that, she must really be attached to this man then. She had so ruthlessly disposed of an individual she once called her ally when they met prior, so to elicit such a response from seeing that man injured meant that she cared about him as more than just a colleague.
How delightful! The wicked woman would be sure to keep this little snippet of information in mind.

"Yup."
What was she supposed to do? Lie? Reida wasn't so stupid as to try and actually hide her feelings on the matter, when she'd already had a visible reaction. However, that didn't mean she needed to actually say anything further about it just yet. She just continued to watch through the scope.
Ah. Looked like the arrancar was being helpful after all. Well, maybe. Maybe he was taking Alastair somewhere else besides back to the Vandenreich. Reida couldn't exactly say for sure, but she had to imagine not being here anymore was still a net improvement.
